Guest Reviews
- Hellmuth (1/5): Lulu does.ot care don’t other me just pay - Lulu was not there had no room for USA d told u booking .com fault unpleasant nasty told us to leave very unprofessional no interest to help outfit the money but no interest besides house one bathroom to share for three parties
Just a very bad experience and that after 10 hours driving at9 pm
Bad bad and she did not answer phone not living in the house just incredible
So we had to find different place at late night
Never recommend See above scat 100 DF did not work
Place not well taken care of other parties in there feel same way
Lulu could not care less for price bad
- John (10/5): We had a great stay. - Very tasty. Very friendly hostess. If you want to walk to the Shaw Festival, especially if you are older, it is about a mile. We walked it both days and would do it again, but it is not for people with walking limitations.
- Pristov (10/5): ideal location, friendly host - The breakfast that MaryLou made was delicious. the home was within walking distance to Niagara on the Lake so it was easy to walk to town for dinner there was really nothing that i didn't like.
- Diana (10/5): We loved the house and the host(Mary Lou) - The breakfast was excellent.
A nice variety and very fresh. Everything was great.
- Jill (10/5): -

- Gilles (1/5): B&B without air conditioning in July. - The location is a plus but this is the only plus. The air conditioning is not functional, at least 85F in the room. The owner said that other peaple let the windows open. There were some rooms vacant surely for this reason. There was no vacancy in Niagara-on-the-Lake at this time of the year. We stay just one night and the owner refused a refund for the other night we previously paid.
This is not normal to operate a B&B without air conditioning with the affirmation is has air conditioning.
- Dylan (10/5): - I booked this for a friend's wedding gift with a wine tour and they loved it.
- Susan (10/5): Would highly recommend to anyone and will definitely be where we would stay if back in the area. - The breakfasts were excellent and Mary Lou took excellent care of us. Nothing
- Martyparty2 (10/5): -
- John (9/5): Excellent B&B - We were welcomed by Lulu when we arrived. She made us feel right at home. The house was very clean and we took off our shoes when we entered. She took her time when talking to us. The breakfast was great. Lulu offered us and each guest help with things to do in the area. She had some discount items for some of the wineries.
- Noella (8/5): -
- Murray (9/5): We enjoyed meeting the owner and the other guests. - Breakfast on day 1 was OK but on day 2 it was very good. Nothing.
- John (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): We were well taken care of and enjoyed a comfortable 4 nights in a desirable location. - We enjoyed a full breakfast and met the other guests. Perhaps more choice of food;granola, nuts, yogurt etc would be appreciated.
- Christophe (9/5): - Séjour parfait, hôte attentionnée. Vraiment bluffant.
- James (10/5): Mary Lulu what an engaging and friendly Host. - Mary LuLu is a great chef. The meals tasted great with flavor and presentation. We had a room with a separate bathroom. Having a robe come with this room would add a touch for those who may feel uneasy walking across the hall.
- Pierce (10/5): Hostess was great! Other guests were terrific… -
- McKnight (8/5): Excellent B & B - The room was wonderful and the food was great. The location was a ways from downtown and since we were on foot wasn't too convenient
- Brock (10/5): Spent a few days there with purpose of seeing the falls but also enjoying the time in the evenings and at breakfast at t - Located within walking distance to town. Nice homey atmosphere and back yard and porch nice to relax in None
- Linda (9/5): It was a great experience - Location was required driving into town and had to pay &5.95 per hour Everything was excellent
- Sutton (4/5): - We were disappointed with our stay. Check-in was disorganized, the air conditioning was inadequate during a heat wave, breakfast was uncomfortable due to the accusatory way guests were addressed regarding the air conditioner situation. We also had troubling interactions with the owner after our stay, which reinforced our concerns. I strongly advise avoiding this B&B.
- Cathy (10/5): It was wonderful - Loved the friendly atmosphere. Lulu was a great cook who served delicious breakfasts. She was very helpful in making suggestions about restaurants and things to do in the area
- howard (9/5): - We weren’t aware it was a shared bathroom
- Isabella (10/5): -
- Elizabeth (10/5): I will definitely share this location with my friends and I Will be back. Lulu was delightful! - Lulu’s B & B is beautiful. My room was well decorated and very comfortable with high quality linens.
The breakfasts for my 48 hour stay were excellent!!
- C (8/5): -
- Audrey (10/5): - Delicious breakfast and gracious host. Wonderful for a weekend away! Tall stairs
- Martha (8/5): Overall, a good experience other than the room temperature. - Breakfast was very good, fruit and a full main. The air conditioning was poor. We were there during hot weather and it was necessary to use a portable fan that was in the room.
- Karen (10/5): Will return, highly recommended - Great host
Brilliant location
Made to feel very welcome
Would highly recommend That we had to leave and go home!
- Garry (1/5): Extremely uncomfortable and a very unpleasant stay - Location was great The room temperature made it impossible to sleep or to be comfortable…there was no air conditioning upstairs and no ventilation or air movement at all…we were also informed that the door could not be left open and the windows had to remain closed
- Lorna (4/5): Very hot weather and no air conditioning - It was OK some options
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Lulu is the best host we have ever had!!! She goes way beyond the extra mile to ensure every one is looked after. Fabulous hostess. Breakfasts were incredible but what would you expect from a certified chef. I hesitate to write this because I want to keep it to myself. Absolutely nothing
- Leoni (9/5): Perfect for what we wanted - Lulu is a very informative and fun host! She really made us feel welcome and the breakfasts were fabulous!
- Dubreville (9/5): Superb -
- Mr (9/5): We had a truly wonderful stay with Mary Lou at Lulu’s and would not hesitate to return. - A stunning property with an amazing host who was kind, friendly, hardworking and very entertaining!
Mary-Lou went above and beyond to make our stay both enjoyable and memorable.
The rooms were lovely and very well appointed.
In our room we had a double shower and a Jacuzzi bath.
The breakfasts were really delicious 😋. Lulu’s Bed and breakfast is more residential than expected, but a lovely 20 minute walk into Niagara on the Lake through a well maintained and affluent neighbourhood.
- Irina (8/5): We enjoyed staying there. All our requests were met. -
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - We had a very enjoyable stay at Lulu's. The bed was comfortable, and everything was very clean. We particularly enjoyed the peaceful garden with its views of the vineyards, it was very relaxing.
Lulu was welcoming and accommodating, making us feel at home. Parking outside was easy and convenient.
The location was great too. It's very quiet and out of the way of the busy town but it's still only a 25-minute flat walk into town or a quick $10 Uber.
Breakfast was delicious, too.
Highly recommend! Nothing. Everything was great.
- William (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent Location in a nice neighborhood, spacious room and bathroom, very clean and well appointed, great breakfasts, wonderful host.
- Preben (10/5): Beautiful B&B home with friendly host - Super friendly host who will do all she can to provide you with a wonderful stay. The breakfast was delicious. The property is well maintained and very clean. Some rooms are not having private bathroom but the common facilities were always spotless.
- Celia (10/5): Overall my stay at Lulu’s was wonderfully relaxing. - There are so many things to love about Lulu’s!The breakfasts were amazing. The owner, Marylou, is a trained chef. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and so comfortable. Indeed, the whole house was! The location is very quiet and peaceful. You can sit on the back deck and enjoy some wine while looking out on the adjacent vineyard. It is also within easy walking distance of the historic district. If you are into exploring by bike, there is a rental shop nearby. It is very easy to explore the local wineries and historic sites by bike. Marylou was very helpful and had great suggestions for local restaurants, activities and events. It was a pleasure chatting with her. Nothing.
- Jenny (8/5): A lovely escape from everyday life. BEAUTIFUL location!!! Only negative was how warm the house was. - This was a beautiful stay for my partner and I. The breakfasts were delicious. Mary Lou was a wealth of inflection for the area and highlighted the great spots to cut! The only negative I would he to comment on, was , with teb heat of summer, the hoise was far too warm to sleep comfortably. I am glad I brought my own fan as it was needed. Temperature of the house - too hot.
- Jane (3/5): Find a better place in the area - The location was fine, and the food was pretty good. Our bed was comfortable. This place has all the elements of a good B'n'B but the proprietor's focus doesn't seem to be on the hospitality business. She didn't want to turn on the air conditioning, for example, even though it was the middle of a heat wave and the bedrooms were very stuffy at night. Both breakfast and check out were early to accommodate a musical side gig she had in town. Strangest of all, her guests had to deal with an angry person who showed up around 10 p.m. claiming to have booked a room. She was at a nearby concert and told him to look elsewhere. Also three bedrooms (6 people) have to share one small bathroom; the cotton shower mat showed quite a bit of mold and mildew.
- Burke (10/5): Absolutely at 10 visit. - This is like a home. Everything is beautiful. Breakfast was fantastic. Nothing
- Atkins (10/5): Great place to rest, relax, and get to know new people! - Lou provided an outstanding stay for us on our vacation. The breakfasts were so good, and her home is absolutely gorgeous. It’s located 20 minutes from Niagara Falls, and less than 5 minutes from Niagara -on-the-Lake’s downtown hub. It was easy to get to the Lake, restaurants were plentiful, and shopping was delightful. There are also options like wine tours nearby. We’re so pleased with our experience, we may just have to do it again! Nothing! And I’m sincere when I say this. If you want to see the Falls, consider Lulu’s B&B!
- Vasu (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindberg (8/5): Beautiful room and view - Wonderful and healthy breakfast Not quite walking distance to restaurants
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional - Had a lovely 2days at lu-lu’s bed & breakfast, beautiful home , awesome breakfasts .
We were made very welcome, also enjoyed the company of 2 other guests .
Would definitely book there again 🥰
- Jane (10/5): Fabulous - Loved our stay here. Beautiful, clean. Walking distance to some lovely restaurants. Breakfast delicious.
Lulu wonderfully nuts!😁that’s a real compliment BTW! Would have en-suite next time.
- Psotka (5/5): Not horrible, but there are so many better places to stay in NOTL. - Breakfast was good, but not outstanding. Have had several stays at B & B's in NOTL and they put effort into breakfast. This place did not. Price of unit and still had a shared bathroom ?
- Anastasia (10/5): Comfortable, high quality, hospitable. - The breakfast was amazing, I loved the blueberry and cherry French toast. The coffee kept coming - was not short of anything to drink. My bed was so comfortable and warm! And my room was beautifully decorated. I enjoyed being in the room and I was well rested everyday. There are locks on the inside and outside of the doors which helped massively. The host was welcoming, kind and helpful - the most warm host I’ve had! Thank you so much for everything, I would definitely come back again. Nothing - everything was beyond my expectations and I had a lovely stay.
- Beth (2/5): Very poor - Not much, we had booked for a king size bed and this is what we got. Decent coffee on first morning but see below. . Where to start. Overall most awful breakfast in 3 weeks so much so we opted out for the rest of our visit, although host stepped up on 3rd morning of our stay when there were by now other guests in attendance; sadly we'd exhausted giving the benefit of the doubt by this point, but did not ask for any refund. When challenged as to poor quality of breakfast offering to us told breakfast was discretionary; yet Lulu's is advertised as a bed and breakfast! Booking.com website shows daily house keeping provided. When challenged host explained since covid, only house keeping undertaken is prior to guests' arrival. Advised not within host's ability to monitor or amend what is posted on Booking.com's website where service is not available. OK: except for (a) at our previous B&,B stay the staff cleaned our room daily, no extra charge and (b) Lulu's applies a cleaning charge of $35:. Correspondingly for the latter would have expected a spotless room and linen. Sadly not the case as personal photos taken demonstrate. Provision of toiletries advertised on website: a half used Pantone shampoo and conditioner and hand soap dispenser in the shower. Noise levels from other rooms, especially the shared bathroom were disruptive: very little soundproofing. As for location one example is distance to Jackson Triggs Vineyard apparently only 650m accordingto Agado's website, but according to Google maps is actually 1.4km to walk. Host explained the discrepancy in these measurements was not host's responsibility to amend. On a personal note this was our last stay in Canada for this holiday. Disappointing but fortunately we had such fantastic accommodation during our trip we have put this down to a one-off negative experience. I am a huge fan of this great country.
- Cristina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gloria (10/5): I had a lovely stay and hope to return. - Very convenient to town, lovely breakfasts, attentive and very knowledgeable hostess.beautifully kept home in a desirable neighborhood.
- Gerry (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent breakfast.The host went way beyond expectations.nice gardens,excellent bed.
We will be back!
- Donna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (4/5): Nice house in a great location and very outgoing host, but underwhelming in a lot of ways. - Lulu was very friendly and nice! She was outgoing and very accommodating. Her house is in a wonderful location and the neighbourhood is beautiful. We booked a one night stay at Lulu’s through Bookings.com, and after the booking was confirmed I was contacted twice by Lulu, and she told me that I would have to book a minimum of two nights, even though that stipulation was not stated anywhere on the property profile. I contacted Bookings.com and they sorted it out for me prior to our arrival.
On Friday I confirmed via email that we’d arrive at 3pm on Saturday however, when we arrived on Saturday no one was home. We phoned Lulu and she had forgotten that we were arriving. Thankfully she was just ten minutes away and was very apologetic about the mix up. The previous night she had let another guest stay in the room we had reserved, so she proceeded to change out the linens and freshen up the room, and we checked in. We discovered the other guest's belonging in the closet and had to move them out of the room. The way the rooms work are that the front door of the house is left open and each guest gets a key to their own room. We were assured by Lulu that she would leave a note for this other guest informing him that he had been moved to another room however, around 11:30pm as we were going to sleep, the other guest unlocked our door, came into our room, and turned on the light. I informed him that he had been moved to a room downstairs, as this was the room we had originally booked.
The room was hot and the curtains are sheer and let all the light in at 7am, combined with the general noise of breakfast being served at 8am meant that we were up early. We knew when we made the booking that we would have to share a bathroom, but since so many of us were using it, it got quite messy (there was a lot of hair and water on the floor), and it was difficult to get ready in the morning because it’s in constant use.
Throughout everything, Lulu was lovely and very apologetic, and the other guests were very kind. This is a gorgeous house, in a great location, and Lulu is very personable and outgoing.
- Xenia (10/5): Gorgeous - One of the best b&b we have ever visited around the world. Coming from Paris, we stayed for 6 nights.
Very elegant and comfortable with a delicious, from farm to table, breakfast. It was fresh, creative and different every day. Very sophisticated and friendly reception. By far, the no 1 recommendation. That we had to go and didn't stay longer!
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (10/5): Brilliant. No issues at all. Can't recommend highly enough. - We had a great stay. Fantastic Host, excellent property, superb breakfast each morning and good location for touring the area. Would highly recommend. Nothing
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely home, friendly host, delicious breakfast, convenient location. Would definitely return!
- Paulina (7/5): Good -
- Angelina (8/5): Very good - Breakfast portions and freshness were fantastic Bedroom temperature was not cool enough for us, but we understand it’s always warmer in the upper part of the house :)
- David (10/5): I would come back and highly recommend - Beautiful room and home, gourmet breakfast was fabulous and backyard deck where we ate once was magical with the vines canopy and plants!
- Kieran (10/5): Exceptional - Mary Lou is an excellent host. She is very welcoming and shares her advice about what to do and what to avoid in the area. The breakfast is excellent. We stayed four nights and the breakfast was different every morning. We liked that breakfast was communal and we got to meet some interesting people at the table. We will be back.
- Bryan (10/5): Excellent and memorable! - The host is an amazing and very hospitable (and wonderful!) host in every way. Her breakfasts were five star (better than most restaurants) and she was very warm and welcoming. The opportunity to eat with other guests proved to be an unexpected blessing and bonus. Not much really--we did have to 'share' a bathroom for the first couple of nights due to occupancy but we were told that beforehand---and it turned out to be no issue at all. Obviously other guests could influence that but we had no problem because of them, and also the facility was very clean.
- Miyako (10/5): It was a wonderful stay in NOTL! The location was so good and we had much better time than expected. Super clean and bea - It was very clean. We had all minutes we needed, plus extra. The location was great in a very quiet nice neighborhood. Lulu was very friendly and a great cook😊. We enjoyed homemade breakfast! We had a good time chatting together! We stayed in the main bedroom and it has lots of room. Another room was a little small. It would be nice to have a fan in the bathroom.
- Philip (10/5): Great trip - Great breakfast
- Nataliia (10/5): Exceptional - Location is beautiful, home is clean and comfortable, host is very kind.
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Isurvivedorder66 (3/5): Very nice house, neighborhood, clean, but basically no AC so not good for a summer get away. - Breakfast was good homemade by Marylou, very nice neighborhood, clean The AC for the house was too weak, nothing really came out of the vents, and no ceiling fan in the rooms it was unbearable for sleeping in July. We tough it out for one night and asked if the AC could be set to 72 degrees F, when my wife checked later in the day it was still set at 78 degrees, she did offer a fan, but we cant really sleep with that noise in the background. So we just left and went back home, it was very expensive for one night. Due to booking.com refund policy we were charged for the full 3 night stay, even thought we only stayed one night.
- Johanne (5/5): Passable -
- Mike889 (7/5): An enjoyable stay - - Marylou was friendly and gave us some good tips on what to see and do in the area.
- We were invited to park our vehicle in her driveway, which was nice.
- The breakfasts were delicious.
- The home is located in a beautiful neighbourhood, which is within easy walking distance from town.
- Marylou went out of her way to set us up to watch the big game in her beautiful den. - The room we were in was very warm despite our request to turn on the A/C or provide a fan.
- The breakfast portions were on the small side and some basic condiments (like pepper, butter, jam) were missing.
- The previous occupant had taken the key to our room so we were without one until the night before we left.
- The outdoor garden/patio area had a beautiful view but could have used a little freshening up.
- The table setting had all guests seated at the same side of the table, which made conversation awkward.
- Daisy (7/5): Restful but not eventful - The breakfast is nice; a unique recipe. The location is good There is no TV in the room, Not a lot of other activities
- Serge (9/5): Superb - Great amenities, cleanliness, friendly host, breakfasts provided, and overall vibe Returning from a walk past 11PM I was locked out - the keys didn't work on main entrance. An easy fix I hope.
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Andrzej (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mckinnon (9/5): Enjoyed this lovely house and host very much. I would highly recommend to others. - Very clean. Lovely deck in the back. Excellent breakfast.
- Daniel (9/5): Very enjoyable -
- Robin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Masliak (1/5): Bad - AC didn't work well. TV cable only few channels. Dirty, cob webs in many places. Host did not return calls, messages. Left property without warning, did not give us tour of house. Shower did not work well, plumbing pipes shake violently, long time to get warm water. Couldn't take shower. Parking lot was closed for repair. Host tried to get extra money first by switching rooms, second by blaming us on wine stains....when we even did not have wine and did not bring any wine. Tried to get our credit card information.
- Johnson (9/5): Good place to stay. - Lovely house, beautifully decorated, large room, very clean, lots of towels and pillows. (We weren’t in the master suite but looked in - it is huge!) The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good: fresh fruit and yoghurt, salad and quiche - very flavourful. The host was friendly and sat for a few minutes with us at the end of breakfast and shared a coffee. The house is at the edge of Niagara-on-the-Lake, not in the centre of town, but easily accessible to it and a lot less expensive! When we arrived the driveway was blocked for a recent surfacing. The host was not there but left instructions to let ourselves in - she check by phone later when we were on our way to dinner to see if we had arrived. When we returned after dinner and a play, there were no lights on either outside or in the house. The host arrived shortly after us and turned them on. There was no soap or shampoo and only a little toilet paper, all of which we scrounged from another bathroom - clearly an oversight by the cleaner, as these were available in the other bathrooms (luckily we were the only guests at the time.) This lowered our scoring because otherwise this place is great, and certainly very good value.
- Stephen (9/5): Lulu was extremely polite. A great hostess who made us very welcomed. I would stay there again. - The breakfast was good. Juice would be nice to have. The location is perfect, quiet and close to NOTL centre. The room needs to be dusted under and around the bed. Some shampoo and shower gel would be nice.
- Davis (9/5): It's lovely being in a comfortable home. Thanks - The house is lovely. I felt comfortable there. I liked the variety of breakfast. I liked using the dining room for our meals.
MAry Lou shared about the tragedy she discovered Friday. She is one tough woman. Her friends were lucky to have known her.
- Geoff (10/5): A great experience destined to be repeated! - Exploring Niagara-on-the-Lake has been a joy for us over the years, but stumbling upon Lulu's Bed and Breakfast felt like striking gold.
Lulu's is like a hidden gem nestled in the heart of NOTL, and we couldn't be happier to have found it. The moment we walked through the door, we felt like we were among friends. The cozy atmosphere of the home and Lulu’s genuine hospitality made our stay truly memorable. And let's not forget the breakfasts – they were absolutely delicious.
Needless to say, our next trip to NOTL will definitely include another stay at Lulu's! Having to go home!
- Mackenzie (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (10/5): Awesome place, recommended - Clean, comfortable. Quiet.
Lulu is amazing.
The walk to town is 1.4km each way. I enjoyed the walk in and out. N/a
- Mitch (8/5): It maybe a European thing with the breakfast included would be very substantial. - Walking to pubs and restaurants was 35min walk. Vegetarian breakfast was poor.Coffee was weak.
We left hungry and headed for a cafe to top up.
Breakfast is only available between 8-830 in the morning.
- Myron (10/5): “I’ll be back!!” Same applies to me! - Location very close to town centre.
Very pleasant host.
Great devote; contemporary & antique.
Interesting art books. Zippo.
- Stephanie (10/5): Very clean and welcoming bed-and-breakfast - Beautifully run bed-and-breakfast. Our host greeted us and let us arrive early for the eclipse. The room was spacious and very clean, and the house itself was super inviting. Breakfast was served the next morning as a group and there was a lot of variety We shared a bathroom, but it didn’t bother us! It was counted very clean
- Erin (10/5): Five stars! - Lulu is a wonderful host! The house is very nice and well cared for. The neighbourhood is safe and just a short drive to the old town centre. Plenty of seating in the backyard, which we didn't take advantage of, but I'm sure it'd be lovely in the summer. Delicious breakfast as well. We will likely be coming back again!
- Zhicheng (10/5): Recommended. - Beautiful house, amazing host, delicious breakfast. Nothing.
- Aideen (8/5): Very good - Convenient to all amenities
- Priyanka (10/5): Beautiful stay in a beautiful town - Lulu's place is amazing. The interiors are beautiful and the location is amazing. Lulu is very polite and helpful. She gave us some recommendations for places to go and they were really great. The breakfast is very delicious too.
- Alex (10/5): Top notch breakfasts every morning that tasted delicious but weren’t too heavy and felt like clean nutrients to start th - Beautiful staircase in the middle. Lovely living room and dining room for guests. The room itself and the washrooms were really clean. No notes!
- Tammy (9/5): Lulu's B&B is a beautiful home that provides a comfortable stay with many conveniences. - Our hostess, Emily, provided a lot of helpful information about the local wineries. She added to the fun of our adventure and exploration of the wine region. The chef-prepared breakfasts were awesome, creative, and tasty. There was plenty of hot water for showers, which is not always the case. There was ample, easy parking. To access the back patio you had to walk around the outside of the house. The mattress fit awkwardly in the frame of the bed so that the pillows kept falling between the frame and the mattress (a small annoyance).
- Oleksandra (2/5): After this experience will never stay at Bed&Breakfast again. - Good breakfast and Cleanliness Did not get the room I paid for. Instead was placed in the room on the ground floor that was not for guests. Thus, spend a sleepless night with a kid in a freezing cold room, hearing every step of other guests over our head.
- Richard (9/5): Pleasant, hospitable and easy - Fine food and hospitality. Met interesting people Private bathroom preferred but shared worked ok.
