• MONICA BERNARDON (1/5): STANZA CON GRAVI PROBLEMI DI MUFFA ED UMIDITÀ - Premetto che lavoro nel settore dell’ospitalità da molti anni e che questa è la prima volta che mi sento obbligata a lasciare un feedback negativo su una struttura. Purtroppo ritengo sia doveroso farlo vista la totale assenza dell’host di fronte a una problematica grave di muffa, umidità e scarsa pulizia. Sono arrivata nella struttura il 19 dicembre molto tardi, stanca, e inizialmente non ho percepito subito i problemi che si sono manifestati nel giro di poche ore. Essendo asmaticа, non sono riuscita a dormire tutta la notte. Il giorno successivo sono uscita presto per un tour e, rientrando in serata, sono stata investita da un fortissimo odore di umidità. Spostando letto e mobili ho purtroppo capito la causa del mio malessere: tutta la parte bassa delle pareti era visibilmente umida e la testiera del letto in tessuto era completamente coperta di muffa. Ho immediatamente avvisato sia Booking che l’host, il quale mi ha risposto solo alle 22 di sera, proponendo di cancellare la prenotazione dal giorno successivo. Ho chiesto quale rimborso intendessero offrire, considerando che trovare un’altra sistemazione a pochi giorni da Natale comportava costi molto più elevati. La risposta è arrivata solo il giorno seguente in serata: mi avrebbero fatto pagare comunque le due notti usufruite, nonostante le condizioni dell’alloggio. Ho espresso il mio disaccordo e ho chiesto almeno un intervento di pulizia urgente per rimuovere la muffa. Da quel momento, silenzio totale. Di fatto ho pagato una struttura solo per lasciare la valigia, dormendo e soggiornando da un’amica. Di fronte alle foto inviate sia a Booking che all’host, credo ci sia ben poco di cui scusarsi a parole: sarebbe stato opportuno intervenire concretamente e, soprattutto, evitare di mettere sul mercato degli affitti brevi un immobile con problemi evidenti di umidità, potenzialmente dannosi per la salute degli ospiti.

• John (5/5): Good location, shame about the renovations. - This is a well situated location for a visit to Amsterdam. It suited us as a base to explore the city, the area was quiet and felt safe. Our host was very pleasant and communicated consistently throughout the visit. The building is undergoing renovations at the moment and this resulted in some loud drilling and noise during the day. Our host exaplained and apologized for the inconvenience.

• Sandra (1/5): MUY CARO PARA LO QUE ES - La cama era cómoda El propietario me mintió y encima no me atendió en los WhatsApp que le envié. El estudio es carísimo para las malas instalaciones que tiene. Baño con un sanitrit (no es un wc normal). Humedades, bandeja de la ducha rota. Espejo roto. El baño no ventila bien y constantemente huele a humedad la habitación. Los desagües se conectan al usarlos y suenan. Las tazas de café estaban sucias cuando llegamos. Pero lo peor de todo es la NULA comunicación con el dueño. Cuando pagas casi 200€ la noche esperas, como mínimo, que no te mientan y que te contesten.

• Mate Jozsef (1/5): Good location, but nothing else - Location Cleaning ladies arrived on the last day before checkout time. I asked specifically for an invoice in email and on the phone multiple times. Without getting a resolution, while it was promised each time. Finally I gave up.

• Roderick (6/5): Nice place poorly managed. - The location was great, the Studio nice. Where it fell apart was the lack of communication with the agents. Left messages, tried to call a few times without answer. There were a few issues such as flickering lights in the bathroom, the television not working properly, no microwave were the used to be one, etc. Because it is an AirBNB there is no reception or any other way to get hold of anyone to discuss these things or check out options.

• Ashleigh (10/5): Beautiful room in Amsterdam - The room was a good size, and the bed was super comfy. We slept so well every night! It was very cold during our stay, but we were kept plenty warm using a heater and the built-in air conditioning unit. The coffee pods were a nice addition, and it was convenient to have kitchen items to use. The large bathroom was lovely with beautiful toiletries, and there was a great hairdryer. The location was great - easy to get into town walking or taking trams, and it was in a nice neighbourhood with all amenities. Toilet needs to be secured as it can move about. Otherwise it was perfect and we will be staying again and again I hope!

The only problem was that it was cold, but I think this is a problem with the Netherlands. We were cold even though there was a heater, air conditioner and mini heater in the room. But we would choose it again. Thank you for everything.

I could have benefited from an extra big towel as I found it quite difficult drying the ones provided in time for the next day. I would have also benefited from a hairdryer.

• Myra (7/5): Quiet area but "Studio" flat was misleading and overpriced. A long walk or tram to any main areas. - Amenities nearby. Quiet area. The kitchen is just a coffee maker, tea kettle and refrigerator. The only difference from a Hotel is dishes and cutlery. Only one chair is proved so a couple would not have a lot of space. The TV didn't work at all, even though Cable TV was on Amenities listed,and when I contacted the property there was no explanation and no offer of service to fix it. Nice neighborhood but not close to any major areas.
• Zara (9/5): Superb - Lovely location right on the canal. The room is a good size for 2. The bathroom is clean and spacious with little extras. Even though it over looks a busy restaurant the nose doesn't travel through the windows. The toilet is not attached to the floor or wall so moves very easily. It also fills with water when you sit on it. Unfortunately when you flush a terrible smell comes through the kitchen sink. It wasn't a problem for us but people looking for any cooking facilities will be disappointed. If you have any mobility issues, the stairs are very steep. But this is an amsterdam feature not the property's fault.

The details on booking.com say there are cable channels available that is not so. It is only your own streaming. The place would have benefited from a microwave.

From the window you can see the sky and an tree the flat doesn't have kitchen (nothing to cook) and a little bit humid (but the weather was really really bad at the time)

• Lauren (9/5): A gorgeous canal-side studio apartment in walking-distance from the city centre. - We loved: the location, the self check-in system, the peacefulness, the fact there was a nice café next door, the beautiful old building and furniture, the modern facilities, the Apple TV, and the comfortable bed. It would have been nice to have a bath mat and larger towels to use, and more kitchen facilities such as a microwave and/or toaster, but nothing else apart from that!

The smallness of the room, absence of any indication of size in sq m on booking.com. If the info says kitchen one really expects a kitchen to cook and eat in. The price was definitely TOO HIGH

• Paul (9/5): Lovely neighbourhood close to the city, quiet and comfortable. - Location is great, easy trip in to the centre by regular trams, but loads of bars and cafes nearby, nice and quiet too. Bed and pillows were really comfortable and the aircon was a lifesaver. The apartment is ‘small’ but never felt cramped. A good supply of tea, coffee and toiletries. The café opposite (over the canal) does fantastic breakfasts with chilled hip hop beats.
• John (6/5): Pleasant - It is not an apartment. There is no stove/hot plates or toaster. Kitchen utensils poor. No table, one broken chair. Next guests arrived whilst we were still packing to leave. Location is lovely.

Very quiet street, close to public transport and variety of restaurants. TV did not work. Had no cable or antenna connected though Apple TV box was connected but did not work. (I have Apple TV at home and know how to operate it.) Kitchenette was furnished but there was no place to sit and eat except on bed. No table, only dresser and only one chair.

• Deborah (5/5): Very different to photos and with chemical toilet - Excellent location, easily accessible to Centraal station via #17 tram. Nice walk through park to central attractions. Quiet with comfortable bed. Well-sized studio. It has clearly been a long time since the photos were taken - there is different coloured paint on the wall and it needs repainted again. The Apartment is certainly not “new”! It is quite tired inside and worst of all, the bathroom… a chemical toilet (yuck) that is not fixed to the floor which physically moves every time you get off it; very loose fitting toilet seat; horrible, mouldy brown shower curtain; lots of black mould in the grout in the shower; shower doesn’t train properly so you end up with an inch of water at your feet with soap floating on top; very cold bathroom with no instructions on how to heat the towel rail which is timed to come on at 2am… no good at 8am in November when the floor is like ice!
