Guest Reviews
- Daniel (7/5): - Location, charming layout and view of canal Decoration is tired - needs a new paint job . Bathroom is very small. Shower towels supplied were too small
- Guest (8/5): -
- craig (5/5): below average - Communication was brilliant, location was great, it was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The stairs are very steep and narrow with no handrail. My main problem is that I could not get into the shower. The door opens onto the vanity unit leaving the samllest of gaps to try and get through. I cannot understand how you think people can get through it. This has been very annoying and ther reason I would not return.
- Hope (6/5): Good - Great location! Bedroom and bathroom were great. Bed was super comfortable. The sofa and chairs had lots of stains. Compared to rest of the accommodation they were really dirty. Could have done with a deep clean.
- jan (6/5): - ligging beetje viezig, oud vloerkleed, erg kleine badkamer/douche, keuken viezig
- Padovano (3/5): Venu pour se reposer, on est pas reposé! - Que les propriétaires ne mentionnent pas que les deux appartements sont en travaux et que ceux ci coommence à 7h30 du matin.
- Veenendaal (8/5): -

- Terence (10/5): - the location was excellent. quiet at night and excellent local shops. Excellent communication with the vendor. the apartment was comfortable and clean. a brilliant place to stay.
- Colin (3/5): A very poor unenjoyable accommodation experience - Location The photos of this suite at time of booking did not represent reality. It comprised of a small dark cold bedroom with a small en-suite toilet and shower cubicle at the rear of the building with no canal view. On arrival we were unable to access the property as no one was there to meet us, as suggested would be the case. Repeated phone calls were unanswered. We finally received online instructions how to enter the premises at 21.15 after spending an anxious time wondering where we would sleep.
On entering we encountered a dangerously steep staircase with no handrail. This property would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. There was construction noise every day starting at 08.15 coming from the adjoining properties at each side , which are being renovated.

- fahaid (10/5): - The location 8-10 minutes to dam square center, next to the apartment 80 meters huge supermarket No left and I have an injury to my back so it was a disaster for me during check in and out with my bag
- Keith (1/5): To be advised on booking.com horrendous stay - Nothing doors don’t lock secure Nothing stairs to steap no handrail very run down
- claire (7/5): Clean room in good area, excellent host - Location good
- Lorna (10/5): -
- Britta (7/5): Die Wohnung hat schon bessere Zeiten gesehen. - Die Lage und das Schlafzimmer. Bisschen runtergekomme.
- Bhaswatadeep (9/5): Lovely stay next to the canals in a beautiful neighborhood - Loved the fact that it’s a canal house and you can sit by the window with a glass of wine and while away looking at the boats. There’s a common kitchen to use, we made our daily breakfasts. The location is amazing, it’s on a quiet area, so we slept well . It’s also close to nice restaurants and pubs in the area and around 20 mins walk to the central station. The bedroom has a nice calming garden view which was nice as well ! The washroom !! It think it’s the major set back in this property . It’s has a strong drainage smell and there were flies. It needs a nice deep clean. The washroom itself is quite small and everything gets wet when you take a shower. It has two sliding doors, and the one from the small living area doesn’t lock at all. Overall the property needs timely maintenance.
also the kitchen trash was not taken out once in our 5 day stay. We had to use our garbage bags to clean up and throw our own trash, even tho we were said that the garbage will be taken care of.

- Piotr (10/5): Exceptional - Great location! Clean and nice room. Within walking distance to all major locations. Bathroom is fairly small... same goes for shower.
- Evren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (5/5): Booked for a really short stay for my partners birthday as a surprise although was offered to find another accommodation - The location cannot fault & the view of the canal beautiful The sewage smell was honestly sickening, cleanliness side wasn’t really there the pillows were dirty so had to cover with our own t shirts and crumbs and other people hair on the floor. Should have been told about the construction noise as that was just a joke and you can hear all the neighbours. Too over priced for what it is.
- Victor (5/5): Passable - I was expecting an hotel... NOT a RB&B
- Jim (10/5): 5 star experience - The cleanliness
Location
Comfy bed
Cozy living area
Good facilities
Easy check in
- Mark (10/5): Fantastic apartment right in the city centre – hosted by a great host! - The decor and location of the apartment is fantastic. Really central, overlooking one of the beautiful canals at the front and a really well maintained garden space to the rear. It’s also located right near restaurants, bars and shops. Due to being in an old property, power is a little scarce in the room. There’s also some TLC that’s needed as there’s scuff marks and wear and tear in places. But it doesn’t distract from the place.
- Julie (9/5): Perfect 😊 - Very central location - perfect for easy access walking to main attractions.
Great views across the canal and over a lovely garden at the back.
- Jack (10/5): Good all rounder - I started in Amsterdam for my solo trip over Europe. It was a good start to the trip after a long travel day. The room was clean and a really comfy bed. There was a bit of a walk from the station about 20/ 25 minutes but was good to walk round and find your bearings. I arrived at the property early but the lady that runs it was very kind to let me keep my stuff there whilst I go in with my day. Also on the plus side if it being not near the Main Street there was silence in the morning where as I’ve been to Amsterdam before and can be loud on awakening when you are in the main part. I would 100% recommend and when I visit Amsterdam again I will be staying here.
- Noble (10/5): Beautiful and cozy canal room - The place was in an amazing spot right on one of the canals with beautiful rooms and views of the garden and canal. The place was very cute and cozy, super easy location, very clean, overall amazing. We wished we had more time here!
- Robin (10/5): Coming back 🙏 - Excellent place to stay, central, cosy, quiet.
Enough space, complete
- Alyssa (10/5): lovely - The location was so good, close to lots of coffee shops within 5/10 minute walking distance, beautiful view of the canal and able to leave luggage if have a later flight, the bed was so comfy me and my friend couldn’t wait every night to go get back into the bed 🫶🏼 The only thing i’d suggest is a full length mirror, there wasn’t one in our room anyway
- Wilson (10/5): We had an amazing few days visiting the museums and walking the streets enjoying the many bars and restaurants - The location of this apartment was perfect , views of the canal from the window and not in a noisy street , only 15 minutes walk from dam square
The bed was very comfortable and everything worked as it should
All the radiators worked so the apartment was nice and warm and cosy if you wanted a night in Nothing it was perfect
- Alice (10/5): This apartment is gorgeous and has a stunning view of the canal! Close to the center and major attractions, the area was -
- Maria (2/5): Not recommended. - Location In no ways the room should be called a suite.
A very small room with a very uncomfortable bed with two different pillows.
A very small bathroom with nowhere to hang our towels, with a glass door we had to squeeze by to get into the shower, with mold in the shower area.
No internal heating just a portable heater.
Nowhere to put our suitcases we had to keep them closed at all times.
Light switch dangerous.
The room is on the 1st floor. The staircase is so small and steep and is not recommended for big suitcases.
- Nadya (9/5): Superb -
- Peter (5/5): Good property and location, but in need of care. - Location was excellent. A residential area, but in easy walking distance to most of the city attractions. The room is in need of some routine maintenance. Noisy sliding door into the shower
Room, soap dish in shower cubicle not fixed properly and kept falling off. It is quite heavy sheet steel and could cause quite serious injury.
TV does not work. Electric heater had loose supporting feet. Cover of main light switch missing exposing internal circuit.
- Alexa (5/5): Amazing location - could be made more comfortable with a few tweaks as mentioned. - Amazing location. The property needed some home comforts/ tweaks made - a decent mattress on the bed - it was terrible! A warm cover for the bed in addition to duvet etc. in the Winter months. Heating to work although this was being addressed as requested after we left - there was a portable heater which we used all the time. Soft towels instead of rough ones! Just not a very comfortable place to stay or hang out in although the location & service from the owner on queries was great & fast!
- Muir (8/5): Very good -
- Huzeyfe (8/5): Cool place - The view, the location The central heating was broken but there was a portable heater which saved the day
- Michelle (10/5): Lovely, warm and relaxing - Clean, great view from living space. Bedroom was very quiet, warm and could not hear any noise from the street. Great communication from host. Answered quickly via WhatsApp when I asked questions.
- Nick (8/5): Very good -
- Gabrielle (2/5): Over priced - Location Over priced
The room needs a good dust, I was bitten by mites and asked the bedding to be changed which did not happen apparently I would have to wait in the room for the cleaner to show up as I was not given a time, there is a shared kitchen however I was woken up all hours of the night from people using it including after mid night. There was a leak in celling from the bathroom up stairs, your are given two bars of soap and four used bottles of shampoo which I do not think is acceptable for the price you are paying and the bed is extremely uncomfortable.
Over all i disappointing stay the price you pay does not match the quality of the room, would not stay again I was offered a 20% discount but have yet to see it .
- Qing (10/5): Good price to buy good experiences by staying here. - Convenient location, very easy to go from the airport. The main sights in Amsterdam are quite close to this apartment. The facilities such as bed and heater are great and the land lord is very kind to help with many things such as rearranged the check-in time for me. This could be a good place to stay in Amsterdam for visiting.
- Peppmoeller (9/5): Superb - Easy atmosphere- nice to have the option to use the kitchen - feel like a local
- Louise (5/5): Ok stay , room not like pictures - Clean , easy to get in and out , clean towels . It was central to the posh part of Amsterdam . It was a good walk to the central area , near the station and nightlife . It was smaller than photos . It was one room . The bathroom door kept getting stuck . The shower tray kept filling . The room is next to the kitchen and early morning the owners were using the blender . Also two mornings they were shouting . No view .
- Ka (8/5): Very good - It comes with a mutual kitchen, although it is not attached with the apartment.
Living along with the canal view and in the Jordaan district is amazing. Small apartment.
It has a narrow stair walking up from entrance to the 1st floor.
- Rosie (7/5): Good -
- Julian (6/5): OK but a bit dissapointed. Great location. - Bed was reasonably comfortable and king size but only one pillow. Great location for sights, transport, bars and cafes. Free wifi, but came and want. Like a simple B&B but without the breakfast. Location was the best feature. We had the garden view room so without the sitting room and canal view but prices appear to be the same. Pricy for the room but for a few nights perfectly adequate. Bathroom tiny and cramped. Below standard. Bathroom door was difficult and noisy to close. Had to squeeze past sink in order to get into the shower. Free Wifi slow, TV did not work and could not even be tuned to gat anything so although listed, unusable. Sitting room listed is part of another room so not available to all guests.
- Ashleigh (5/5): Comfortable bed and a good location close to tram and centre streets. Small tight room and bathroom and very noise with - Good location right on the canals. Short walk in between trams and centre streets. Very comfortable bed. Room did not have a canal view, would have made it better but not a deal breaker. The room was next to the shared kitchen and we could hear every movement of the people in there. Every night in the middle of the night there was someone using the kitchen and banging the drawers so it was very noisy. The room we has was quiet small, which I know can be normal for Amsterdam but the bathroom was also tiny so a little awkward, the door also needs repairing.
- Teisha (8/5): Perfect location, extremely comfortable bed, lovely staff, would stay again! - Amazing location, comfortable, lovely staff Shared kitchen, a couple of older amenities
- John (8/5): Excllent Accomodation in the Heart of Amsterdam but Expensive although that's Amsterdam ! - Excellent Location. Better Kitchen Facilities, Towels and Shower Door Opening enough for me to get IN !!
- Benoit (4/5): Great location but the overall accommodation is in an average state and is therefore too expensive - Excellent location We could hear everyone in the house, the shower shelf fell because it was not properly fixed, the bathroom door is very hard to close and open (hence one may wake up his or her partner for a night wee)
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, clear communication and an early check in made a big difference Nothing
- Marian (8/5): Lovely small apartment in a brilliant location. - Fabulous location on the canal in an old town house. V quiet and with a very comfortable bed. Lovely sitting room with nice furniture overlooking the canal. Great communication prior to arrival. Would definitely stay again. It was very difficult to open the front door which was stressful if coming back late in the evening. It would have been nice to have coffee and milk pods for the nespresso machine but there were green tea bags which were very tasty. It was nice being able to use the owners small kitchen overlooking the canal but it would have been better to have a shelf or box for the use of guests as the fridge was full of the owners food
- Catherine (10/5): Very comfortable accommodation in a wonderful location with a thoughtful host. - Wonderful location on a Canal and within walking distance to main attractions, the Jordaan and amenities. The host generously allowed us to share her kitchen facilities from where we could enjoy lovely views of the Canal. Not a biggie but I would have loved a kettle for cups of tea instead of the coffee machine which didn’t quite get the water hot enough!!
- Debra (10/5): Perfect spot to rest between adventures - Location and sleeping by in history!
- Aron (8/5): Very good - Location ! Cute. A bit small. Sound of airplanes landing constantly
- Heather (8/5): Great place to be in walking distance to EVERYTHING ! No uber or public transport needed - great little streets with lot - Location was great nice view of the canal from the lounge windows
Great communication from owner regarding check in Husband is 6 foot 4 so stairs, shower and bed were a struggle as very small
- Franziska (9/5): Superb -
- Theodore (9/5): Superb -
- Lara (7/5): Cozy place to stay - The place is nice. Easy check in/ out
Nice of the owner to give us upgrade for few days.
Hot water is working. Place is nice and near stores and cafes. It’s not a hotel. Space is quite small.
Keyholes need repair.
- Pusat (10/5): Very good value - Very good value hotel, city center, moderately clean. There was a mosquito in the room 😃 maybe the room window needs a kind of net to keep them away .
- Karolis (10/5): Exceptional - Small and comfortable room for short staying! 🤙 great location👌
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Ruairi (7/5): Great location and comfortable beds. A bit small and in need of some repairs but cool spot. - Amazing location. Small than expected from photos.
- Almendra (8/5): Great location! - Location is amazing! And the view of the apartment too! The bedroom and bathroom door were difficult to close, The towels could have a little fabric softener.. And it would be great to add a sponge in the kitchen to wash the dishes.
- Tabsum (9/5): Superb - Location
Facilities
View No full length mirror or iron.
Scratchy towels
- Natasha (8/5): Very good -
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good -
- Lydia (9/5): Great value and location - Everything but specifically the location, great value for money compared to other options I could see. The bathroom roller door need to be fixed and although it wasn’t an issue for us in April I think it could get hot without aircon in Summer months but generally a great value for money accommodation option that I will be recommending to anyone going to Amsterdam!
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valerie (5/5): Passable - Location cannot be beat. Bed was incredibly comfortable & the views are heaven. The rest of the experience fell very flat. The property is a little dirty. The kitchen is shared-- I didn't realize I was staying in a building with multiple units. Not a big deal, but it's more like an airbnbed house with shared kitchen and separate apartments. I don't feel like that's clear in the description. There was no soap or tolietries of any kind provided, outside of toilet paper. My bathroom sink had a major leak. None of this ruined my stay, but it also def wasn't up-to any kind of a hotel quality. It didn't feel "nice."
- Bobi (2/5): Poor experience - Location No communication that we would be sharing a home with other people. Cost us 120 in taxi fees as there is no signage. No one answered our phone calls for help. No way to pick up the key. We were told we could drop luggage early but we couldn't get in because other people were there. Pictures on booking.com appear to be a hotel not an apartment.
- Emily (9/5): Great location with lovely garden room - The accommodation was in the perfect location for all museums, tourist areas and local hangouts including some amazing spots for food. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the shower had good water pressure.
It had a really lovely kitchen to cook your own food if so desired too which over looked the canal.
Iris the Host was extremely welcoming and even offered to give us suggestions on where to go for food / visit etc. 10/10 for service.
I'd 100% recommend staying here and I'd book again next time I'm here. My only reservation would be that the light switch had lost its case but it still worked. Honestly was a great stay and really clean.
- Alison (8/5): It rained a lot but accommodation good value for money in a great location - Location
Kitchen great Compact room - no view of the canal in the room
- Angela (9/5): Superb! - The location was perfect, it’s right on one of the canals which was lovely to wake up to. It was close to the town centre and in walking distance to most attractions. I loved the decor of the apartment and felt it was spacious and had everything we needed. We had access to a shared kitchen which we didn’t really use but the option was there. I would definitely stay here again. We had an issue with the heating but this was resolved quickly after a conversation with the owner. The only other slight inconvenience was that the bed was actually 2 singles and my partner kept sinking in the middle.
- Moller (7/5): Good - The location was great! Great view! Overall a good stay! It wasn't 100% clean. I feel it could've been a bit cleaner for the price we paid. Dusty and the water cannister and nespresso machine wasn't clean.
- Goksun (7/5): Good location - Location Cleaning of bathroom
- Susanne (8/5): Cozy Stay in the heart of charm - Cozy, intimate and small apartment. Liked the living room space apart from the bedroom. Great location.. a close walk to the 9 straatjes, het Spui and trams. Very charming neighborhood. It’s small, which for one person was comfy… might feel tight for 2 people. More so in the context of storage for luggage and having space to open suitcases and store them.
- Ana (5/5): Great location - It was a very quiet area and at the same time very close to the nightlife and city center. The locks at the entrance and the room seemed very flimsy and when other guests were in the staircase it was noisy.
It took us two days to get new towels and coffee.
After our visit the owner accused us to have been smoking Marihuana indoors. Totally unacceptable!!
- Faye (8/5): A lovely, homely apartment in the heart of Amsterdam - The communication from the host was excellent.
The access to the room was easy and clear.
The room itself was cosy and homely.
The location was great, cycling distance from most places and lovely streets nearby to walk to with shops and cafes. We couldn’t get hot water from the shower on our final day.
- Doug (1/5): We left and did not stay due to the uncleanliness and then the host refused our refund. - Nothing Dirty towels, dirty room, graffiti, narrow stairs with no hand rail.
- Natalie (8/5): Very good - Lovely short stay. Location was good and the room was clean and fresh albeit small. The pillows! Also a very narrow flight of stairs to lugg heavy luggage up. Overall a great stay for 2 nights - any longer and we would have struggled for space with all our luggage.
- Elish (1/5): Wish we stayed somewhere else - The location was in a good spot. Walkable. To be honest I am not one of these people that complains but €700 for 3 day. To arrive to a dirty room, mouldy shower , dusty walls , broken TV , broken door handle and list switch broken.
This location was not worth the money spent.
The location was good but that’s it.
- Ahmed (8/5): Very good - position the stairs are so narrow, difficult to go up or down with big bag
- Erik (1/5): We are stille waiting for our discount for the bad cleaning as promised - The place in the town When we arrived, the room was not properly cleaned. Dusty and dirty surfaces in the room and in the toilet
Iris the landlord, promis us to do a proper cleaning the next day, and then promised us a price reduction for the first day.
Iris promised, and wrote to us, she would pay us when she get the money from Bookingcom.
It was the 8 August 2023.
But since we have not heard from Iris, and of course not seen any money of the discount.
we are still waiting
- Michelle (6/5): Expensive for what you get - The property is in a great location and having a private bathroom was definitely a plus. There were a few things that we didn’t really like about the property:
-Having to unlock the lock box every time we returned to the apartment was a pain
-The shower had quite a bit of mold in it
-The lack of air conditioning meant we had to sleep with the windows open to stay cool. This was noisy and bugs got in
-There is very little storage in the king suite
- Grace (10/5): Lovely cozy stay in a beautiful, central part of town. Thoroughly enjoyed, thank you :) - Beautiful, cosy property under a 10 minute walk from bars, restaurants and shops. Really comfy bed, smart TV with youtube and netflix etc. Shared kitchen that you have access to if you wanted to cook/wash up. Lovely view right on the canal, and a fabulous host who was very helpful and accommodating Nothing - everything was great
- Robert (5/5): Very very tiny apartment. For the cost it was too expensive. -
- Qian (8/5): Overall a very nice stay. - It is a very nice flat, good to have the use for the little kitchen too.
- Angela (4/5): Disappointing - The location was very close to canals and stores in that area. Heavy the owner changed the time for access to the property whilst I was in transit and completely unaware. Meanwhile I had the checkin details as arranged from the flight and despite countless attempts to communicate I had luggage and could not move. Standing for hours on a step in the way of an adjoining property. Further, the narrow exceedingly steep stairway was not accessible with luggage without aid, finally someone came to assist. Then on the final day I had arranged for assistance with the luggage with the owner, eventually her husband arrived and was later than arranged. If you have a light overnight bag then the steep stairs, without a handrail, would not be an issue.
- Michal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (7/5): Great location and cute airbnb - Wonderfull Location in the middle of the nicest neighbourhood. Super cute room with a small living room. Big bed.
But this is NOT a hotel. You have no lobby, no service, no one makes your room, no room service. This is a room in a house with a front door key in a key box with a code. Though Iris, the owner, was super nice and helpfull, this is unclear, on booking, that this is not a hotel. The living room was a good surprise, however, the canal view is from the living room, not the bedroom. I was surprise this was not a hotel. The bathroom is really tiny with no space to hang your wet towel. The room was okay clean but not if you look under the bed..
