- Ailish (10/5): Your own little stretch of canal frontage, a tranquil and beautiful stay right in the centre. - Perfectly appointed studio cabin on a beautiful stretch of canal - lovely and peaceful yet still in the centre. Lovely shower and very comfy big bed - we had the best sleep all weekend. Marco was just great and very accommodating and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. N/A
- Cheryl (10/5): - Staying on a houseboat in Amsterdam was a perfect experience No complaints
- Peter (9/5): Great place, great location, lovely and warm ( down to you to control ) I would stay again. Bookings.com quote a free ta - Lovely quirky place, great location for all you need. Nothing really, bed was firmer than we personally like, lovely place.
- Pauline (9/5): -
- Timothy (10/5): Great location with excellent facilities - Great location on the canal.
- Adele (10/5): Perfect houseboat experience. - Loved the comfortable layout and nice bed, and the views were incredible. Great location too.
- Anne-Laure (8/5): - Le lieu, la propreté, Un peu petit

- Joseph (10/5): - Marcos was the perfect host, even helped with our luggage as the steps down the side of the canal were a little steep. The accommodations were extremely cozy, comfortable and allowed a first-hand experience of blending into the Amsterdam culture. Watching the many (and quiet) types of canal boats drift by, with mostly tourists, was very calming as we sipped on tea and coffee that Marcos keeps stocked in the kitchenette. You probably could spend large chunks of time just peacefully enjoying the view and the birds on the water and still feel as though you've been transported to another time and could just hang there! Just around the corner are bustling streets with endless sights, smells and sounds - including many restaurants and cafes. But this serene place is in an incredibly strategic place as it is within walking distance of most Amsterdam sights-to-see, as well as tram stations to go out a good bit further!
The bed, bathroom, kitchenette, chairs, internet, stocked cabinets... all well-enjoyed!!
Thank you Marcos for the best of first impressions of your marvelous city!!
- Carl (10/5): - Everything

Stunning veiw
And a good host! Nothing
- norman (9/5): Great with exception of the checkout time. - Everything was wonderful. Was told upon arrival that checkout was 5am
- Lesley (9/5): Very enjoyable and would recommend the houseboat as a destination. - The view across the canal is striking. Very peaceful location. Perfect for a couple of days.
- Stephanie (10/5): Location, location, location! :) - Coming back to this location in the evening after an exciting day around the city was the best. It is comfortable, quiet and safe. I hope to come for a longer trip in the future. Thank you!
- Ulrike (10/5): Exceptional experience - The house boat experience was amazing! It was super clean and modern and well equipped. We enjoyed the afternoon sun everyday. There is nothing that could have been better

- Jildou (8/5): Nothing overly fancy, but perfectly nice and clean! - The location was great and being on the water was nice. Lots of boats going past. The metro station and shops were right around the corner. The room was clean and tidy. Overall, it was a great experience! The floor was slightly sticky, but that's probably due to the cleaning products used, because it seemed perfectly clean. We'd happily stay over again.

- Lilian Waxweiler (9/5): Wonderful! Central, Clean and Comfortable -
- Carole (9/5): - Location was great - just a short walk to everything. We loved sitting down at the end of the day with a wine and waving to the tourists in the boats going past. Also, when we arrived we noticed the contents of our luggage was quite wet due to being left in the rain. Mariela was so helpful in providing us with a large clothes rack, which was a ‘god send’. We had large suitcases, and a ramp to the boat would have been good rather than steps.
- Marie-Eve (9/5): -
- Karen (9/5): We had a wonderful short break in Amsterdam staying at this fantastic centrally located houseboat. Would definitely like - Central location. Fantastic views. Cosy and well equipped. Perfect for our needs. Nothing
- Teresa (10/5): Outstanding canal location within walking distance of everywhere. - Beautiful home from home with most outstanding picture windows. Quiet location in a nice neighbourhood. So relaxing with water lapping outside.
We would definitely recommend. Nothing
- Joyce (10/5): Really enjoyed the experience and could have stayed a few more days! Would recommend! - Although the space was small, it was very efficient, clean, and well appointed! We had no problem unpacking and feeling very comfortable. The area was quiet and peaceful through the night for sleeping and the view was wonderful! We enjoyed every moment on the water watching the wildlife and passing boats! Our host was very friendly, welcoming and helpful! The location allowed for easy walking access to the city sights. We were a bit concerned about getting down to the houseboat from the street level, but, it was manageable and our host was there to assist. So happy we chose this property!

- Kimberly (10/5): Unique, relaxing and memorable stay. Everything about the booking was perfect and accurate and - Amazing location, neighborhoods, restaurants and people watching everywhere. Staying right on the canal in a boat, a unique experience for sure! Hosts were right there when we arrived and then quiet and unobtrusive the rest of our stay. N/A
- Kelly (10/5): Absolutely fabulous accommodation! Staying on the canal was a wonderful experience. - Perfect for 2 people. It was a top spot for walking everywhere. Loved opening the double doors to relax and watch the boats go by and the friendly water bird visits. Best accommodation yet!
- Carmen (9/5): Unique! - Location and charm. Great design for such a small space. Not too much storage space, but OK for a short stay
- Darrel (10/5): Perfect place for us to stay. Close to all attractions and restaurants. - Beautiful place. We loved watching the boat go by. Great place to stay we enjoyed it!
- Kathryn (9/5): A unique and memorable experience - Felt like a rock star watching all the tourists canal trips go by. Close to everything. Comfortable bed and nice kitchen toys. Loved the wood. Well thought out design
- Fay (10/5): I took my mum as she’d always wanted to visit. She loved everything about Amsterdam but especially this accommodation - Loved the location. Quiet part of city but easy to access and walkable to the centre. Amazing views, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Nothing
- Yi (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent view, strategically located in the center yet quiet corner.
- Ronald (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luka (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christina (8/5): A Unique Stay in Amsterdam - The houseboat is charming, with all the facilities you need. It was lovely to look out at the canal boats; and to have the swans swim right up to us! The boat is close to a supermarket, train station and restaurants. The hosts were highly responsive to all our communications.
- Kath (10/5): Get that Amsterdam vibe - Lovely room on a houseboat close to restaurants, supermarket and metro. Exceptionally clean and well equipped. Great hosts. Was fabulous experiencing a stay on a houseboat and watching other boats go by. Nothing
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - The house boat was so homly and bed so comfy location was close to all the main attractions would highly recommend and would return again . Only 15 minutes walk from train station and easy to find on Google maps Nothing at all
- Lori (10/5): Tranquil, quiet, and nearby to attractions. - Excellent houseboat experience. It is in a great location, easy to walk to many attractions, safe. It is quiet at night. During the day lots of tour boats go by, but it's fun to wave at the people on them. The houseboat is small which was expected, but very clean and comfortable. You could not fit more than 2 people here. The shower always had hot water and good water pressure. There were all the amenities needed there. The boat does not ever feel like it is rocking and I did not feel sea sick at any time. Waterbirds will come to greet you in the mornings which is adorable. My favorite part of the trip was sitting with the door open and drinking tea next to the water. Check in was very easy, we just rang the bell on the boat and the host greeted us and explained how everything worked. She was very nice. I did travel with my boyfriend here but would feel safe traveling here as a single female as well. Pillows could be upgraded, other than that, all good!
- Nenad (10/5): Exceptional - The “window with the view” makes this stay exceptional. Sitting and watching the boats passing, people waving…great. Would recommend to everyone looking for something not ordinary. When we come again in Amsterdam, we know where we will stay.
- Lisa (10/5): Perfect cozy place with the best views of the canal! - My husband and I loved being right on the water. It was so nice to have the view of the canal and be able to watch the boats go by. Location to everything was perfect too! Nothing
- Jennifer (10/5): Book it! - I highly recommend booking a stay here! Easy to find by google maps from central station, adorable little house boat with a unique view of the canals. Local market just a two minute walk away, highlight of the trip was sitting at the kitchen table for lunch door open to the canal watching the boats pass by as a lovely family of swans passed right by the window. Comfortable bed, roomy enough space for two, absolutely adorable place! Nothing negative to say, loved everything about the place.
- Douglas (9/5): Highly recommended. - Exceptional location, modernised, airy - quiet and restful in the evenings.
- Liane (9/5): Perfect location to get the best out of Amsterdam on foot. - Location on the water. Cleanliness of property. Proximity to all main attractions. Nothing
- Terry (10/5): I'll stay here again. - Great houseboat experience. Space wasn't large, but wasn't too small either. Less than a 2min walk to the supermarket and probably 12min to Centraal Station. Host met us upon check in and gave us a quick tour then left us alone the remainder of the time.
Had a blast watching the tour boats float by. The shower is a tight fit, but worked well.
- Andrew (8/5): Beautiful location and amazing to be on the water. - Amazing to be just by the water and it had everything we needed. There was an issue with hot water, but the hosts were very accommodating and found a solution.
- Wendy (10/5): Excellent short stay accomodation. Was sad to leave. - Clean, comfortable and easy walk to shops. Nothing
- Angelena (9/5): Comfortable stay on the canal - Loved staying right on the water. Had a big goose come up to our open window to say hello. Excellent kitchenette facilities, walkable location, quiet overall. Stairs to get to the front door are very steep. Room was quite small for 2 large suitcases. Doors were deadbolt locked but needed to be locked with the key whether inside or outside.
- Brett (10/5): Marco lives next door also on the canal boat, very friendly but never was disturbed. Loved the interior and bed was very - Close proximity to centre of Amsterdam, loved the floor to ceiling windows watching the canal boats go by, comfortable sitting area Nothing
- Makarova (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alen (8/5): Very good - Great location, windows to the canal, pretty clean and great host Pretty compact but it gets the job done. Lot of outside noise at night
- Lori (10/5): Perfect stay in a newer studio on a houseboat. Will stay again. - Perfect size for a couple. Fully equipped kitchenette. Great bed and linens. Large windows looking out on to the canal. Heat and hot water worked well. Lovely host. No outdoor space, but that wasn’t necessary in cold weather.
- Anonymous (9/5): Highly recommend - a beautiful place to stay in Amsterdam. - cosy, lovely views of the canal and an excellent location. no complaints at all.
- Natasha (10/5): Will stay again! - Very clean & cosy. Compact but perfect. Heating system & bathroom great! everything you need in the room. We don’t usually spend much time inside accommodation on holidays but we did spend some time pre dinner etc because of the lovely views! the big windows were great to enjoy a morning coffee and see all the boats pass by. When we return we will be sure to stay again. A full length mirror would be of benefit for us woman as we get ready, sharing a mirror was a little tricky in the bathroom. It’s minor but could make it perfect.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Jackie (10/5): We do enjoyed coming back in the evening; opening the large windows and watching the boats go by - Beautiful home in a great location Nothing
- Mark (10/5): Perfect little oasis right on the canal centrally located - Loved being right on the canal watching all the boats cruise by. Unit is very well laid out and very well equipped. Hostess very nice and helpful Nothing could have. Even better it was perfect

- Julie (10/5): We had a lovely stay in the house boat, everything we needed was provided, ideal location right in centre. - Lovely and clean, had everything we needed and ideal location.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - The directions and details before we arrived took us straight there.
Lovely owner who made us feel so welcome
Close to supermarket
Close to vintage markets
Very very clean
the photos show it as it is beautiful Nothing it was perfect a piece of paradise
- Sergey (9/5): Incredibly cozy. - The place is perfect for just hanging out, relaxing and falling asleep by the water. It gets incredibly cozy when it's raining outside. The passing boats are a lot of fun :) We made friends with the neighbouring coots. The host is friendly. We missed shower gel and shampoo. The inside temperature is regulated only by opening windows. The place is a bit smaller than we expected, but it worked well for only 2 nights.
- Catgen26 (10/5): Really loved our stay, and absolutely recommend staying in a houseboat when staying in Amsterdam - The room was lovely and clean, had a beautiful view of the canal and houses. Stayed for 3 nights and I would say its the best way to stay in Amsterdam. We weren't far from Dam square, the station, red light district, ARTIS zoo but far away enough to enjoy the quiet especially in the mornings. Mariela was a great host and will definitely come back
- Christine (10/5): We were very comfortable in the houseboat studio right on the canal. - Workmanship of the houseboat studio was remarkable.
Our hostess gave us clear instructions to the best food store in the area. We shopped there twice. Perhaps include instructions to the Metro.
- Jonathan (9/5): Very enjoyable, ideal for a short stay in Amsterdam, facilities to enable safe catering. - Very nicely fitted out, all standard requirements covered and mire, clean and comfortable. Nothing to dislike.
- Sally (10/5): Floating on water - Beautiful sitting on the water Clean, comfortable excellent location
- Sharmaine (10/5): Brilliant host - will be back again! -
- Kevin (9/5): A fun place to stay - Great location, a fantastic view, and easy check-in. The houseboat is an experience in and of itself. We loved our stay here. Make sure to spend time having a drink while watching the boats go by. It's a bit small if you have a lot of luggage. Not a problem for us, but something to keep in mind if you travel heavy.
- Ali (10/5): A lot of magical boat and bird watching - The location was perfect, esp as the sun came round in the late afternoon and went down in the April evening. Really magical. The studio was small but very clean and everything functioned well. Very central location too. A lot of tour boats come past but they are not noisy and we enjoyed them watching us watching them. (There are blinds if you want privacy). We sat out on the little deck area and happily watched the boats and birds for hours. Wasn't mad keen on the black plastic armchairs but they were very clean! There was a coot (river bird) nesting on a pile of old rubbish in a sinking rowing boat outside our side window which was both sad and heartwarming to see.
- Georgina (7/5): Cosy, clean and practical space with a bonus view of the canal. - Location was really great, very easy to get everywhere in the city and on a quiet street which was very convenient for our trip. Was extremely clean and warm and we loved the views from the window onto the canal, was very calming. Great bathroom and overall cosy place to stay. Felt it lacked a bit of personality, as the place was very small and compact it was perfect for what we needed but I was a little underwhelmed by the presentation. I also found the bedsheets looked quite dated, as much as they felt and smelled very clean I would recommend making the efforts to make the place more homely by getting some new bedsheets. I also found it quite noisy at times, as you can hear any street noise such as drunk people walking home, had to use ear plugs to block them out.
- Julie (10/5): if you are considering staying here just book it, it is absolutely wonderful - absolutely beautiful houseboat very central with the most amazing views loved everything about this gorgeous houseboat
- Patrycja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (8/5): Very good -
- Reza (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aleksandra (10/5): Exceptional - Very quite place and fantastic views ❤️ close to the supermarket. Nothing
- Carolyn (9/5): Superb - Great location - we walked everywhere. Owner very nice and helpful. Fun to stay on the water. Comfortable bed, pleasant to have the door open on the water side. Grocery store close by, restaurants and cafés as well. Check in was a bit confusing. Thought we had to go to a separate location, but owner lives on the other half of the houseboat so if you are early - as we were because of flights - be prepared to hang out in the street with your luggage or at a nearby cafe. Needed to be very careful on the stairs down to the houseboat. Only a railing on 1 side so we were passing luggage up and down.
- Lobov (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carmen (10/5): Exceptional - We had THE most amazing few days at Mar&Mar. The location is excellent. Just 15 mins walk from Amsterdam Central. Very close to lots of shops and cafes yet tucked away on a beautifully quiet spot. We absoloutley loved sitting by the window watching the boats go by and getting visits from the ducks! It was hard to leave to be honest! Immaculately clean, we felt like the first people to be there. Nothing not to like!
