• Simpson (10/5): Great room, location and owner! - It’s a beautiful spacious room with a great view! The stairs up were super steep and long. If the owner’s assistant hadn’t run down to carry my bag when he heard us arrive, I’m not sure I could have made it! It was worth it though, a great experience all around!
• Rachelle (9/5): A great place to land for a few days in Amsterdam - The property was in a great location and within walking distance to many of the sites I was interested in. The balcony was perfect to enjoy a coffee by and have fresh air. The stairs are no joke - steep! But Roeland was an excellent host and carried by bag up to the room. He also provided me with many great recommendations for meals and offered to arrange tours etc. My only comment would be if one is sensitive to smells there seemed to be a strong fragrance.
• JOLINE (9/5): - The canal house was amazing, and Roeland was such a welcoming and kind host. Communication was excellent throughout our stay. He kindly allowed us to leave our luggage before check-in and also offered a very flexible late check-out, which we really appreciated. The location is perfect — very central and right by the canal, close to the city center while still being in a quieter area with many lovely restaurants and cafés nearby. Just keep in mind that the apartment is on the third floor and there are quite a few stairs. For us, it was completely fine.

• Kate (10/5): A wonderful relaxing stay in the stunning Tannery! We will be returning! - The room was beautiful, with nice touches such as the mini bar, welcome baked treats and coffee machine. Stunning view from the balcony and a great location. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. Nothing, the property was an excellent!
• Ceil (8/5): A beautiful room with a tiny bathroom. - The location is perfect, close to sites, good restaurants and shopping, but on a quiet street. The room is beautiful and sparkling clean. Roeland was very helpful and easy to be in touch with. We loved being able to open the French doors. For the price that we paid, I was expecting some upscale soaps, shampoos, etc., but it was just a random mix of things. The biggest problem was the teeny bathroom and the even tinier sink. It was very difficult to wash my face without slopping water all over. Previous reviews are not exaggerating the size of the bathroom.

There were so many lovely touches in the room that made the stay special. Location is great for all the best locations in Jordaan, lots of lovely shops, pubs and places to eat on the doorstep. Would absolutely stay again and recommend.

Das Personal war auch immer erreichbar falls man dies bräuchte und die Unterkunft war wirklich 1-2 Minuten vom Zentrum entfernt. The Bird Room was fantastic, every amenity was on hand and had been thought of. Roeland was an absolute star, nothing was too much trouble and he left us little sweet treats on a daily basis and even a little bag of Christmas gifts!! Nothing!! It was all fabulous

Roeland and staff are very sweet and i loved the rooma nd the view. the stairs are steep and its was several flights up. i forgot that in Europe, the first floor is not the ground floor. But staff helped me with my bag in both directions which saved my knees. THe stairs are also one of the really cool things about the building. i recommend a small suitcase.

• Hosein (10/5): Exceptional experience. - Amazing location, with close proximity to pubs and cafes. The evening is quiet however activities are only a stone throw away. The views were perfect and the host left many snacks and drinks for us to enjoy. Overall an enjoyable experience and a pleasant host, I would definitely book again. The stairway access made heavy luggage access a bit challenging however the staff on site helped and this was also mentioned prior to booking.

And above all, Roeland is truly the best host you could hope for. • Nicole (9/5): Great location and host! - Great location and the host, Roeland was great! He provided great recommendations and even helped with requesting reservations. He also helped with our luggage! The stairs may be difficult for some, but since Roeland helps with luggage they aren’t so bad.

• Charleen (9/5): Lovely stay in a beautiful house - We stayed for our 25th anniversary, and it was lovely. The bedroom was even decorated for us coming in on our anniversary. The stairs, only because we were on the top floor. You do have to expect it in Amsterdam though.

Roeland was an excetional host, we arrived early, so he held out luggage until our room was ready. Roeland helped with carrying our luggage up the steep flight and and meet us at 6am to assist with carrying our luggage down the stairs. I would highly recommend staying at the Canal House. Nothing

He allowed us to leave our bags and then check-in early. Lovely touches in the room; macaroons served on a crystal plate, complimentary drinks in the minibar, waffles, tea and coffee and more!! The room is extremely clean and the bed was very comfortable. Roeland goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. The location is great for exploring Amsterdam. • Sarah (10/5): Just perfect we will be back. - The Canal House was simply perfect the location the decor the comfy beds the extras like macarons and sweets topped up each day. The rooftop and neighbourhood views from the double window seat. The bijou en suite the recommendations of places to eat. Literally 20 mins max to walk to all attractions we wanted to see and so many bars bistros coffee houses ( and a couple of coffee shops if that’s your thing ). Just the best place. Roeland so helpful with cases up the traditional Dutch house stairs ( really steep ) as 2 women we felt so safe in Amsterdam and in the canal house. Thank you Nothing but if you have mobility issues the stairs might be an issue but no problems if you are fully mobile

The bed was sooo comfortable! There is no air conditioning, it was ok for us as we had the windows open at night, but would be very hot in summer. We had 1 day at 30 degrees C that we really noticed it. The bathroom is very small and tight. We were 2 smaller women, but could imagine would be a tight fit for a larger person.

• Robert (10/5): Good choice for singles and couples. - The location is quiet and within walking distance of significant venues within the Jordaan district and central Amsterdam. The room is nice and is completely refreshed daily, and the refrigerator is kept stocked with various alcoholic beverages and fruit drinks. A foodie restaurant is next door and has simple, good tasting and healthy options on the menu. Bus 397 does round trip service about every 15 minutes between the airport and a stop that is 5 minutes walking distance to the Tannery. This is the place that I was looking for.

• Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful stay here and would definitely recommend it. It was just right for our trip away, just the two of us, kids stayed at home with their grandmother. There were a number of thoughtful gestures upon arrival and just before leaving. The decor is lovely, bed is comfortable, and location is excellent. Nothing! If you have difficulty going up steep stairs to the 4th floor this may not be the right place for you. We had no problem with it and got used to it quickly.
• Susan (10/5): Perfect 4-day stay in Amsterdam's premier Jordaan neighborhood! Lovely in every way! - Everything about our stay at Canal House The Tannery was exceptional. Our host was very friendly and responsive. The location is outstanding - just steps from the Nine Little Streets; walking distance to the museums to the south and Anne Frank House to the north: excellent nearby neighborhood restaurants and bars. The Caiman Room where we stayed is large and beautifully appointed with a very comfortable bed, gorgeous canal views with French doors that open to a Juliet balcony. Coffee, tea, treats provided and replenished by our host. Just wonderful! Would not recommend for anyone with mobility issues. It is located on the third floor, up 51 narrow steps.

• Sj (10/5): The Fancy Tannery - Adele was by far the best thing about The Tannery. Its on the second floor to the fourth floor and up a set of exceptional Dutch stairs. Adele communicated with me regularly and tried to help when I wound up at the wrong Canal House. She was patient and kind and super sweet. The room was fantastic and the heating took a bit to warm the room but once it did, it was golden. The room had everything needed with a great view. Super clean with drinks and snacks. I adored The Tannery. I got a splinter from the stair railing. 😅 If you have mobility issues, this place is not for you.
• Kristīne (9/5): Lovely room, beautiful view, perfect location near a canal, and a kind host - The room and the view is lovely here, as is the location of the Tannery – a walkable distance from nearly everything we wanted to see. Roeland was such a welcoming host, the communication was smooth, he encouraged us to leave our luggage on our last day while we still did some walking in Amsterdam. There was fresh water and complimentary drinks in the fridge every day and sweets on our first and last day.

Inquired how our stay could be more comfortable, made recommendations of places to visit or restaurants to try. Everyday we were welcomed back to a clean room, restocked of fridge, light snacks and coffee and tea station. The room was large, well decorated and cozy. I can’t say enough about this place. We are definitely coming back. Thanks Roeland! There was nothing to note.

• Samantha (10/5): Weekend Getaway - Beautiful large room, extremely comfortable bed. Lovely location, tucked away, but a few minutes walk, to bars, restaurants etc. All the facilities we needed were thought of plus lots of extras. Loved the daily treats. Great find. We were on the top floor, which they had warned us about. However, not a big problem at all and soon got used to the stairs. If you have mobility issues however, I would check with them first regarding which room you are going to be in.

In a lovely historical canal house, that being said, the stairs are traditional as well so book otherwise if you do not feel comfortable on many narrow steep stairs. • Rudolph (10/5): We had an amazing time in Amsterdam and our room rental with Roeland was very key to our enjoyment. - The place was fabulous and the location was perfect. Roeland, our host, was amazing and very helpful in many ways. He was even able to secure us tickets to the Anne Frank House when it had been sold out for some time.
• Anne (10/5): Fabulous!!!! - Roeland is a wonderful Host who did everything he could to make my short stay in Amsterdam amazing. He has great recommendations for places to eat and drink. He helps with suggestions for sightseeing and how to get there. The room is large and has a stunning view of the canal. The bed is very comfortable. The area is charming and full of interesting Boutiques and Cafes to while away the time but still close to all the main attractions. Nothing
