Guest Reviews
- Lori (10/5): Central and comfortable locale - The location was excellent. Easy access to the train station and, although a quiet area, was close to restaurants and sites. The bed/pillows were very comfortable and it was lovely to open the window and look out over the canal. Maikel was a wonderful host. No negatives.
- Emily (10/5): Beautiful apartment-like stay, perfect location - This is a exactly what you hope it will be, it feels like you have an apartment on the canals for your stay and the location can't be beat. The host is also so kind. Staying alone as a woman, the area can get quiet on weekday nights but I didn't have any issues.
- Wetravel (8/5): Central yet Peaceful - The location was great, the room was comfortable and quiet, the garden view was lovely. In a luxury property, I would have liked better quality towels and linens and a non-lumpy pillow.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- George (10/5): Highly recommended - Very good location, quiet but still very near to city center. Location, view of the canal, mattresses,
- Byron (10/5): A stylish room in a great part of town. - The location is great! We walked everywhere and loved exploring the city. The home has a nice shared lobby and then up one flight of stairs are two guest rooms. The home was really stylish. Can't think of anything!

- Kathy (8/5): Very good - Great location, very clean room, comfortable bed. Owner was very helpful with local restaurant recommendations, etc. No air conditioning. Shower and bathroom floor slippery when wet with no hand rails . Didn't restock coffee pods in room or lobby or empty trash with multiple night stays. Room was very clean upon arrival but no room housekeeping after that for multiple night stays. Didn't restock coffee pods/ tea , empty trash. Blanket/ comforter was too warm for summer months.
- Suren (10/5): Very relaxing stay where we could walk to everything. - Very central. Very helpful owner. Small. But more than offset by the location.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danice (8/5): great stay! bright and wonderful location. nice shower. - The location is amazing! Walk to EVERYTHING! It’s a bit pricey for what you get. The room was is beautiful but a bit small.
- Donna (10/5): It was a relaxing and quiet stay. Well done Maikel and Wim! - I loved the location on Singel Canal in a quiet area that was near enough to, but not in the midst of, the main tourist area. The owner, Maikel, was wonderful and made a positive first impression. I would highly recommend the Stuart for a lovely stay. As a person not accustomed to steep stairs I didn't like the climb, albeit very short (10-15 steps maybe) to the room. It made me nervous, and I was sure to hold onto the rail as my partner slipped and lost footing and stumbled.
- Astrid (10/5): Exceptional - Very glad I chose this stay. Great neighborhood. It was great to wake up every morning and see the canal. The room is very comfortable and looks exactly as it appears on the images. There's extras like coffee, tea, water, and even small wine bottles. Mikael was there to greet me when I arrived. There's a guide in the room with information about the room, and the surroundings including great restaurants and cafes. Nevertheless, Mikael made himself available in case I needed anything. The place is an easy walk away from basically everything a tourist would like to visit in Amsterdam.
- Nathan (10/5): Fantastic - The location was perfect and the room itself was spacious! Great local restaurants and very nice hosts! N/A
- Harvey (10/5): Wonderful neighborhood to explore Amsterdam - Wonderful location! The room was large and well appointed. Bed was comfy with plenty of pillows. Coffee maker, boxed water and wine splits provided in room. Our window looked out to a lovely garden. Owners could not have been nicer and helpful. Great book of recommended restaurants in room helped us decided where to eat at night It's not that I didn't like anything, but older travelers (like myself) should be aware there are many steps in and out of the room as well as the bathroom. We navigated it all well and enjoyed our stay.
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gigi (10/5): Great comfortable place to stay. The onsite manager was super helpful and friendly. And we appreciated the snacks in the - Comfortable, quiet, great location!
Nice little additions like bathroom supplies (shampoo, shower gel, and good quality toilet paper and tissues!). It’s amazing how many places we’ve stayed at that don’t provide these basic essentials. The garden view unit had a musky smell when we arrived. My daughter opened the window to air it out which seemed to help
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - Very good location, basic "B&B"
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Domenico (6/5): Pleasant - Proximity to everything No fridge, no wardrobe.
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jung (10/5): Exceptional - We would stay again.
Your home is beautiful. The room, location, all of it, awesome. Very private and quiet.
- Judy (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful, clean, comfortable. Great location
- Faisal (8/5): 8/10 - location is far especially when walking. But that's ok.
The towels are good quality and clean. No paper/ pen in the room?
No complimentary water in the room?
No hand lotion in the restrooms?
Cocktail ladies in the casino are hard to find and very busy.
- Baker (10/5): Exceptional - great historical house on the cabal and far enough away from the tourists spots that it wasn’t loud. the room was gorgeous and spacious.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional - location
all events were within a half hour walk it is narrow like most rooms in Amsterdam
- Jorge (10/5): I would highly recommend this place to people who want to enjoy Amsterdam. - Everything, great location walking distance to many tourist attractions, etc. great restaurants close by and very quite neighborhood. I will be back anytime to this place.
- Carmel (7/5): If you are looking for an hotel forget this place. But great for a bed - Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Good natural light and great location and surprisingly very quiet While there were couple of chairs in the room, it is not where you would want to linger for long
- Gysbert (9/5): Superb - Amazing location, close to most attractions and areas for tourism.
- Oleksiy (10/5): amazing experience thank you so much - centrally located easy check in and check out. nothing. we loved it
- Mark (8/5): Ideal location and comfortable room made our stay in Amsterdam very easy and enjoyable. - Great location—maybe a 10-12 minute walk to Amsterdam Centraal so convenient to that important hub. But, far away enough to be out of the station area in a nice urban neighborhood. Easy walking to all the main tourist attractions. Excellent coffee shop less than 100 m away, plus a delicious fries/chips shop just around corner from there—2 of the 3 key food groups thereby covered. Clean and comfortable room. Pretty basic accommodations—bed, TV, bath. Small refrigerator available in downstairs lobby. No housekeeping service except for longer stays. This is what they advertise and is reflected in lower price than other places, so no complaints, just know you’re not going to have lots of amenities.
- Hilaryjh82 (10/5): Exceptional - The location was perfect, and the neighborhood was quite.
- Charlotte (10/5): Brilliant! - This was the best location and we could walk everywhere. The beds were super comfy and the room had everything we needed. Thank you to the host for being so welcoming. We feel so lucky to have found this room. Thank you very much. Absolutely nothing!
- Kim (10/5): thank you for a fantastic trip and stay in Amsterdam! - We loved everything about the property, location, friendliness and support of the owner, restaurant recommendations, very comfortable bed and room, great coffee and tea facilities with breakfast bars, close to everything so you can walk to all the museums, restaurants, shops and other sights. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Amsterdam! nothing…
- Florence (8/5): Very good -
- Erin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roie (8/5): Great place but needs some improvements - Great location! Few minutes walk from Dam square, comfortable bed, the free Netflix in the room, espresso machine with capsules and free snacks at the lobby.
The host is very nice No refrigerator, kettle and teapots in the room only at the lobby, which means you need to go down every time you wanna make something other than espresso.
I would recommend to renew the shower gel & shampoo because one bottle for a couple is not enough for more than one day and you need to ask for new ones every day.
No safe in the room.
Can be noisy from the Canal (especially during day time)
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Khaled (8/5): Very good -
- Eugene (10/5): perfect stay - everything no complaints
- Kyle (10/5): Very happy with our stay, highly recommend! - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, the host was very pleasant and the hotel is in a great location right in the center of the city.
The room was clean, bed was comfortable and overall was happy with the room for what we paid.
Would highly recommend! Nothing comes to mind
- Kara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jose (10/5): lovely place thats on a really narrow building - great location, really quiet and still close to the center
- Eileen (10/5): Fabulous !!!!!! - The room was very luxurious, very airy and bright, bathroom was large, plenty of towels, los of hot water, hairdryer, complimentary soap, body lotion etc.
The bed was comfortable, Hot drinks machine in the room, t.v including netflix. seating area, floor to ceiling mirrors,
clothes hanging area. all areas exceptionally clean.
breakfast was was a breakfast bar/caramel waffel. We had wonderful full english breakfasts at a local cafe of which there are plenty to choose from and really reasonable .
The owners are lovely and nothing was too much trouble. They are there if you need them but also very respectful of your privacy .
Thank you both and hope to see you again next time we travel to amsterdam. lack of low calorie drinks, mostly full sugar soft drinks in the shops and bars Minor but worth thinking about if on a diet or you dont have a sweet tooth lol.
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed 3 nights at Stuart Luxury Rooms (we booked the canal room). The room and the property are very beautiful and the location is amazing, right on one of the main canals of central Amsterdam, next to many main attractions, cafés, restaurants, shops and public transportation (Central Station is in walking distance). The hosts, Wim and Maikel, are very welcoming, informative and helpful, they made us feel very welcome. Our room was very comfortable and clean, it had all the necessary amenities and a very nice view of the canal (we also really appreciated the complimentary small bottles of wine and the breakfast snacks). During the weekend it can be a little bit noisy, as the canal room is located on the street side, but that's probably part of staying in the city center of any big city and it shouldn't deter you from booking this amazing property (they also have a room that overlooks the backyard and which is probably more quiet if you are looking for total peace and quiet). We would definitely stay here again and we totally recommend it! Everything was great
- Karen (10/5): Central location for a short stay in Amsterdam - Stuart Luxury Room is very central and close to the central station as well as easy walk to numerous restaurants etc. The hosts were excellent in their communication prior to our arrival and were very accommodating. As with all homes in Amsterdam, it is small but do not let this deter you at all. Absolutely nothing.
- Anonymous (10/5): Stuart Luxury Rooms was a very quiet, quaint and very welcoming facility. We would definitely stay there again. Maikel - The property had a good central location for us. It was fairly close to what we had planned on seeing and doing. They also were very accommodating to us as we had an early flight arrival. They let us leave our luggage there until our room was ready, which was a huge help! We really didn’t have anything negative to say about the property. It would have been nice to have dining facilities there, however we knew this when we booked it. It really wasn’t a big issue as there was a wonderful little restaurant right across the bridge that we ate at a couple of times.
- Fiona (10/5): beautifully presented room in excellent location. would stay again. - location was perfect - clean and tidy and excellent communication. nothing.
- Rebecca (10/5): Great place to stay! - Great quiet location. The room was very clean and the owner was very nice. It was a little warm in the room even with a fan but we also happened to travel there on warmer days.
- Isla (9/5): Superb -
