Guest Reviews
- Katarzyna (6/5): Lokalizacyjnie miejsce wspaniałe. Urokliwy, stary budynek z bardzo sympatycznym właścicielem. Rzecz do poprawy o której - Kontakt z właścicielem, lokalizacja. Budynek usytuowany przy pięknym kanale i urokliwej ulicy. Czystość. Pomieszczenia bardzo brudne.
- Dorien (9/5): Small apartment in historic house - Beautiful old house, which has a small apartment on the lowest floor at the back of the house. Apartment is well equipped. Ceilings are quite low, but I was warned in advance. Host is very kind, attentive and helpful. Unfortunately, the apartment floor wasn’t very clean: there were a fair amount of crumbs on the kitchen floor from the last guests breakfast and every corner had ‘dust bunnies.’ I clearly needed a good vacuum cleaning.
- Giuseppe (10/5): - Tutto perfetto.
- Emilia (9/5): -
- Gian luca (10/5): Fantastisch - Rustig, knus, vlakbij de drukke binnenstad Niets
- Barbora Tumova (10/5): - We loved everything. From the incredible hospitality, delicious breakfasts, quiet and lovely area, to the free use of bikes! All was perfect

- Joy (9/5): Convenience - The owner picked us up at the Metro station and dropped us off at the ferry when we Left. They also lent us bikes for free. They welcome us with apple pies. Nothing
- Karen (10/5): - Location, bikes and the pick up from the metro on arrival and drop off at the ferry on departure.
- erica (10/5): Che bel posto!
- sangeeta (10/5): Cosy little nook in Amsterdam - Loved the quaint 17th century house. Our room was warm and cosy. The host was very welcoming and even offered to pick us up from the station. Lovely homemade breakfast and pancakes. Though it is slightly away from the city centre, it is very well connected to Central station, just one stop on the metro. Highly recommend if you want to stay in a peaceful environment yet stay fairly close to the city.
- Colinda (8/5): -
- Cornelis (10/5): More than satisfied - They are the most amazing hosts. Nothing was too much for them. Even offered to drive us to the station when we were ready to leave. Had a great breakfast of Dutch pancakes.
Excellent value for money.
Such a buzz to stay in a 400 year old cottage. Great homely atmosphere. Absolutely nothing to complain about.
- Judy Lin-Kalff (10/5): - Lovely little suite in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood, Ruud and Annemarie are very kind and knowledgeable about what to do and where to go. The space is well-equipped, clean, and quiet. The park nearby feels safe, and there are shops nearby as well.
Overall a very pleasant stay, I wish I were in Amsterdam longer!
- Gillian (10/5): Interesting property, great host - Great location. Outstanding host who was keen to give me the information I needed about the area. Very friendly. Breakfast was superb Nothing
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacqueline (9/5): Superb -
- Elena (10/5): A sense of a real home away from home. - The photos are fully correspond to the description and the reality is even better! The area is fantastic - 1 metro stop from the busy city centre and it is nice and quiet with a river and ducks)) Complementary bikes available to get a real local experience. And of course Ruud and Annemarie are the best hosts ever ❤️ will definitely come again.
- James (10/5): I would highly recommend this place to stay in Amsterdam—five stars! - The location, the atmosphere, and the way excellent hosts!
- Alina-andreea (10/5): Great! I totally recommend it! - The house was nice, heated, plenty of space, perfect if you want to have the real dutch experience. The kitchen has everything you need and you get even some toiletries in bathroom just in case you need them.
Ruud and his wife were so nice and made everything possible to make our stay more enjoyable. We got some papers with details about the neighborhood, and what to visit in Amsterdam. All written in our native language which was a nice touch. English would have been fine, but they just went the extra mile.
The neighborhood was calm and safe.
The stay was really enjoyable and I totally recommend it. The house is between 2 metro stations, but the distance is walkable, around 10 minutes so not that bad.
- Andreia (10/5): Pleasant surprise! -
- Almira (10/5): Exceptional - Ruud one of the best host I've ever met in my life!
Very warm and caring welcome.
We had everything we needed for our stay. The location in a cozy and quiet area near the center is a big plus.
I would gladly stay at Ruud's house again.
- Igor (10/5): Close to everything, historic location - Breakfast was very tasty, real Dutch pancakes Nothing
- Jacoba (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sally (9/5): Superb -
- Barbara (9/5): Perfect stay! - The property is in a very beautiful street, full of trees and a little lake. Is far enough from the craziness of the center, but still close enough to metro stops to be able to be there in a short time. The owner is amazing. It was raining so he went to pick me up to the metro stop and he was always making sure that everything is good! He also borrowed me one of his bike. Truly recommend it If I have to say something, maybe the short felling gets a bit uncomfortable if you’re tall
- Avishag (10/5): Dreamy apartment ❤️ - ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING!!!!
There is a reason this place it highly recommended!!!
The hosts were so kind and welcoming. They gave us a list of recommended places to go. Gave us the safest feeling EVER!
The apartment was well maintained and equipped it had everything we needed and more!
Bathrobe, tv, fireplace, comfy bad&sofa, great natural light.
We also got bicycles and we absolutely loved it!! I loved the whole thing. Nothing bad to say. Will go back again and again and again!!
- Ilona (9/5): Superb - They were very helpful in accomidating pickup of the keys etc. We had an event we had to be at on time in Amsterdam and they helped think with us on the possibilities. Appartment was clean, had some nice cookies available, and extra toiletries in the bathroom. Watch out for the beams, I thought I was prepared for them, but I hit my head more times then I would like to admit ( doesnt help if you are 1.85m tall) lol
- Mariajosesanchez (9/5): Rudd is really nice, very attentive and available for anything. The free bikes are a plus. - wonderful location, well connected by metro and by bike with Central station. The owners are very nice and Rudd picked me up at the metro station, which is rather convenient if you have luggage. The garden is lovely. part of the crockery ( pots, cups) is rather old and it could be renovated.
- Emre (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect.thanks to Anna marine and Ruut they are very helpful kind and nice people.the house was verry clean and comfortable you have everything that you can be need.if i will come again to amsterdam i will be stay here again thank you verry much❤️
- Sutton (8/5): Lovely place. Very nice and helpful hosts. Would definitely stay again. -
- Pelle (8/5): It is a very good bed&brekfast that I can very much recommend nearby Amsterdam. - It was a very old house but very nice. A very good double bed with good comfort. The house was clean and the bathroom was excellent. The location was just one stop from central station. Our landlord had bikes we could borrow for free. It was very nice to go out and see the surroundings with the bikes. And take the bikes to the nearby restaurants. Our landlord Rudi also gave us a ride in his car to the train before we where going home. That was very kind:) Rudi was a very nice person who made the stay even better in Amsterdam. The house had a very low ceiling. And for me who are 183 cm it was a little bit to low. I bumped my head sometimes, but I got used to the height after a while. The breakfast was ok, but the honey and the tea could be better and the butter was expired with the date.
- Carol (7/5): Had great time , Ruud very friendly and helpful very kind . - Loved location as we love biking and used the bikes to get to the ferry’s Areas needed bit more attention to cleaning eg around the toilet and to toilet pan and skirting boards
- Cansu (10/5): Exceptional - It was warm and comfortable. Inside you have everything you need.Ruud was very polite to us. He gave a ride to metro when we are leaving. His wife made apple pies and it was vert delicious.
- Fatima (10/5): Exceptional - The studio apartment was a home from home ♥ and perfect for a solo female traveller like me as it was a safe location. The accommodation was so cosy, clean, nice, warm and spacious. The host was friendly, helpful and was kind to drop me to Noorderpark station (it's a 10 min walk and 2 stops away from Amsterdam Centraal station). The location is idyllic and easy to get to the city centre via the metro.
- Changzheng (10/5): An excellent experience in Amsterdam! - This must be the most traditional house in the Netherlands. It is situated in a quiet, beautiful riverside neighbourhood in the north of Amsterdam. The house is fully equipped and the kind landlord welcomed me with open arms and gave me the use of his bike for free! You know the bike is necessary for exploring this city. On top of that, the landlord is a great cook and prepared me a traditional Dutch breakfast on both days! It's definitely worth the price! Especially if you're going to be travelling solo like I was, it's awesome to enjoy cycling along the lake to the marina to catch the free ferry! Nothing
- Asutosh (9/5): Superb -
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maiqi (10/5): Nice house nice host - It’s a nice house with a yard. The host is kind and friendly, leaving me one of my best experience during my stay in Amsterdam
- John (9/5): Superb - The location was lovely with the canal outside and place where I stayed was very good. There not many places within walking distance to get something to eat. I also did not like walking from the train station to the house at night. You have to walk through the park. Though the park was lit up it still felt a bit lonely walking through it late at night.
- Andrzej (10/5): Exceptional - Owner - pick uped me from/to metro station (Hi proposed, free of charge). Very good location, max. 20 minute to the Amsterdam's heart (short walk, 1 metro stoppage). House with character, close to 400 years Old. -
- Robert (10/5): At home in a village, near the city. - From our first contact, Ruud and Annemarie
, were welcoming and thoughtful, making us feel like family members. They gave us great suggestions for what to see and how to get there. We would highly recommend this lovely home because of its proximity to Amsterdam, it's heritage, and quiet neighbourhood.
- Neal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katrina (10/5): Exceptional - Really cute place, very peaceful Warning for tall people that the ceilings are very low!
- David (10/5): An authentic touch of Amsterdam - A beautiful authentic stay in Amsterdam. We found the garden lovely to relax and have a glass of wine in. We were even surprised with a bottle of champagne and flowers when we arrived, as it was our honeymoon. Ruud also offered to pick us up and drop us off at the metro, which is very close (1km). We found the use of the bikes to be fantastic and visited friends 12kms away on them. The cycleways are very safe and easy to navigate. The kitchen was very functional and enabled us to make a quick dinner when we'd had a long day. Nothing
- Patricia (10/5): Lovely suite, beautiful village, delicious breakfast - This was a cute and comfortable place in a lovely part of Amsterdam . So nice to be in a historic building with character. Our hosts were kind and helpful and the breakfast was delicious! The suite was perfect for us, but if you are a tall person, it won't work for you!
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Radovan (10/5): Beatuiful - Awesome host. Beautiful surroundings, nice comfy apt. Nice garden to chill. I have to mention host again, super nice and helpful, breakfast was really nice touch. Coming back for sure.
- Giulia (10/5): We loved our stay. Ruud and his wife were extremely helpful during our stay. Told us all the good places to eat and visi - It was comfortable, garden was lush and green and it still close to Amsterdam inner city .
It felt like staying in a little cottage on the country side. Ruud was extremely accomodating when it came to finding the right bike to get around. There was nothing not to like. The apartment had everything you needed. It was a short bike ride to the train station and had loads of cafes and restaurants near by.
- Luke (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rae (10/5): Great Dutch experience - It was wonderful to stay in an authentic Dutch house over 500 years old but with all the comforts of home. The host Ruud was extremely helpful with directions and I also enjoyed the breakfasts he served. He gave very clear instructions to find his place and the 15 minute to the metro was along a forested canal. Very picturesque. Only 1 metro stop to Centraal Station. I highly recommend. There was absolutely nothing not to like.
- Anna (10/5): We were with my sister on a 3 day trip to Amsterdam. A trip inspired by the Vermeer exhibition. - A delightful place to stay. The apartment is located on the ground floor of a 16th century building. The owners pay great attention to the comfort of their guests. The apartment is fully equipped and very cosy. The house is located in a beautiful and quiet area of Amsterdam. Everything was perfect!
- Julia (9/5): lovely quiet B&B with easy access to city centre - well equipped for self catering, free bike rental & in a lovely quiet location. friendly and helpful host! generous breakfast if you opt in
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - The host was very nice, he picked me up and also took me to the metro station so that I didn't have to drag my suitcase in the rain. The apartment is comfortable, has everything one would need. They recently added a microwave, which was very useful for me. Everything was good, the only thing I would add is a shower caddy.
- Alex (10/5): A very comfortable and relaxing stay, just outside the Amsterdam centrum. - While researching properties for my stay; Klavergeluk stood out as it is located within Noorderpark on the banks of the Noordhollandsch Kanaal. This was very convenient for reaching the Amsterdam Centraal Station by Metro (One Stop) and walking (14 mins) alongside the Kanaal. i.e. a very peaceful relaxing area too stay in. My hosts (Ruud and Annemarie) were very helpful in suggesting where to visit in Noord Amsterdam and provided me with a traditional Dutch bicycle to reach the destination. Also Ruud provided me with an excellent Breakfast on my departure day. The Self contained apartment within the traditional Dutch house was very comfortable. Nothing I can think of; except to be aware of the low ceiling if over 5ft 4ins tall!
- Eugene (10/5): Exceptional - It' a very cozy and large enough place. Even with own kitchen. There was a large window with pillows: very comfortable to read a book there. The owner gave us two bicycles to ride to the center of Amsterdam. Breakfast was delicious.
- Benedict (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simay (10/5): Exceptional - It was so lovely to stay here, location is perfect to discover new places around the north Amsterdam.
- Inge (8/5): Very good -
- Klaas (9/5): Superb -
- Ying (10/5): I’d like to visit Ruud and stay here again in the future if possible. - It is a really lovely apartment, where we’re allowed to cook and specially to use the bikes (although we didn’t try due to windy whether). Ruud is so friendly: he gave us some bread, dessert and fruit and printed some materials for free. Some introductions are given for our three-days staying in Amsterdam. I do appreciate his kind treatment.
- Morrison (9/5): Very good stay. - Good location.
Very warm welcome from Anne-Marie.
Good facilities on offer. Roof was a little low for someone of 6ft. Back starting to hurt after a night.
- Goda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Wonderful hosts, very cool property in a great location. - Super location and super, super hosts. The neighborhood is worthy of exploration - nice contrast to the chaos of downtown Amsterdam. Hosts went out of their way to take care of us - very, very appreciated!!!! Blank for a reason - everything great! Not a problem for us, but tall people might find low ceilings a problem.
- Laura (10/5): Cosy apartment in a beautiful quiet location in Amsterdam. Great hosts! - The location (outside busy tourist central) feels like you’re in the Dutch countryside but it’s really only 10mins by bike from centre. You can hire bikes from Ruud easily too! The apartment is very cosy and has everything you need - a great space to relax. Hosts were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The low ceiling in the apartment (historic building) may be a little tricky if you’re 6’6’’ (198cm) tall like me! But not a problem - it added to the charm!
- Jmatz (10/5): Comfortable and good location - Expensive, but very reasonable compared to other properties. Good location and close to the metro station. Getting use of the bicycles was an unexpected bonus. Room was more like a private little studio apartment with separate entrance. Lots of space but cosy. Nothing negative to report.
- Ioana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (9/5): Absolutely delightful, left us feeling full of joy! - It was a lovely home, in a historic part of Amsterdam, truly felt like we were in a village on the outskirts of Amsterdam. Hosts were exceptionally helpful and friendly, allowed us to borrow their bikes, and left us croissants for breakfast, which was a lovely touch. Would stay again anytime we visit the city! Nothing
- Laura (10/5): A quiet and nicely place - The apartment is cozy and the neighborhood is lovely. Rudd and Anne marie are the best host ever! They are very caring and easy-going. I highly recommend to stay in klavergeluk. The apartment is placed a 12-min walking from the metro station and the enviroment is idyllic so, it is a very nice walk. Everything was perfect.
- Robert (9/5): Would have been great to stay longer than 2 nights. - Met on arrival at Metro and when we left our host dropped us off at the ferry. Our accomodation was comfy, cute, spacious, in short it was LOVELY. That's a point, it helps if you are short in stature as this home does date back to the 17th c! and it has low ceilings. Neighbourhood was peaceful and within one metro stop to Central station. RUUD's breakfasts are not to be missed. This homely set up would be a fab long stay option.
