Guest Reviews
Grazie mille Katia
- Jill (9/5): Luna Rossa Roma Guesthouse, May 2026 - Although the room was small it had everything we needed. The little balcony was a plus, the kitchenette had a microwave, some basic crockery, a sink, a fridge and a kettle. The plumbing was excellent! No smells, no loss of water pressure. The bathroom was small but it worked just fine.
There was some noise through the walls but nothing to get annoyed about.
The host, Katia, was excellent. She is extremely knowledgeable about Rome, how the transport works, how to access it all, and recommended good local restaurants.
If you stay there and want to visit the Vatican, take the Trastevere train to St Pietro(2stops) and then walk along the Jasmine Walk to reach the walls of the Vatican. It's a quiet walkway, fragrant with Jasmine, and traffic free.
The location of the guesthouse is really convenient, it is very close to Trastevere Station - for trains to the airport and into Rome. Trams and buses also converge at the station. The area looks a little scruffy, but we did not experience any problems , it's a neighbourhood for local Italians, it isn't touristy at all. You will meet them all at the coffee bar across the road when you go for breakfast. The pastries there are amazing.

- letizia (9/5): Gentilezza super gradita - La cordialità e l' accoglienza.
- Lee (10/5): Excellent service and location en route to cruise. - Katia was amazing and so kind and helpful!! Location is great, especially if coming from FCO with one day in Rome and then going to Civitavecchia for cruise.
- Mitch (9/5): Lovely room and great hospitality - Katia, the hostess, is super friendly and helpful. Our room had a little balcony fronting the interior courtyard which was wonderful. The location is very convenient. The breakfast is a coupon for a restaurant across the street. But the room comes with microwave, tea boiler, cutlery, plates etc, so you can make your own.
- Angela (10/5): Restful, quiet and enjoyable. - The location is steps from both train and bus and breakfast free and delicious! Katia is amazing. Such a help! Room very clean too! The bed is a little hard, but that is a personal preference.

- William (10/5): -
- Kjartan (10/5): Wonderfull stay and very helpful host. Wonderfull location and easy to travel from and to airport. - Got breakfast voucher for local coffee shops. Liked that the room was cleaned daily and the wifi was fast. The view was spectacular towards the garden.

A szállásadó végtelen kedves, segítőkész.
- Laura (10/5): Wonderful hospitality! - The room was very clean and comfortable. The host was so gracious and even gave us a ride to a restaurant on the night of our arrival so that we could make our reservation. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoying trying different local pastries. The location was very close to Trastevere station. From there we could take a bus or train, however, the buses were extremely crowded and neither were always convenient. We found that we had to walk quite a bit to get to sites and restaurants, which was fine for us. The public transportation in Rome isn't always great so sometimes we opted for a taxi instead. This could be a consideration for the location.
Voto 10 e lode!!

- Guest (10/5): - Not in the center, but tram lines and bus routes making it good location to visit rome.
- Alison (10/5): - Katia is such a wonderful host. I loved my stay and would certainly book here next time I’m in Rome.
- Gudmundur (10/5): Best tine in Rime ever - Everything and the host was fantastc
- Santino (10/5): - La posizione e i servizi Nulla
- Mária (9/5): - The host is absolutely amazing! Katia is very helpful throughout the whole stay( I've never met host like her before). The room is great for solo traveling. Location is next to train station and tram stop, nevertheless I couldn't hear the traffic in the room. You get a card/voucher for a nearby cafe for 1 food and 1 drink as a breakfast, but I could come even in the evening if I didn't use it in the morning. You may hear some noices from other rooms, which could be an issue for light sleepers.
- Matthew (10/5): Quiet, friendly and comfy - Great location, not too far out and with an excellent tram connection to the heart of Trastevere and the historical centre. Katia met us on arrival and gave us all the info we needed, and more. She's really great. She even messaged us train times because she knew we had to get back to Rome Termini on our last day. The rooms are big, the place is spotless and the beds are comfy. Also, we couldn't hear any traffic noise from our room, and there's a big internal garden just outside your window. We'll stay here again and would certainly recommend it to others. Everything was great
- Guest (10/5): Amazing culture & opera and excellent and helpful host -
- Pritika (8/5): I would recommend the property to my family and friends - The property is close to train station and other public transport. The room is decent size and comfortable. I would stay there again.
- Kay (10/5): Exceptional - Katia, the owner, went above & beyond to ensure our stay was everything we wanted, Katia is very knowledgeable about Rome, & gave us lots of information to make our stay exceptional. The accommodation is perfect, its very clean, well equipped kitchen area, everything you needfora perfect stay, Location is 2 minutes away from transport hub, & only 20 minutes by bus/tram into the centre. Nothing it was perfect👌
- Junia (10/5): Highly recommended.. 😍 - My favourite host of my Italy trip! 🤩
Katie was there to greet me, give suggestions for authentic Roman food, supermarket (cos I needed clothes) & even suggested an itinerary.
Amazing Italian who helped me understand Rome's transport system 👍
Kind, communicative (clear, detailed instructions from the airport), joyful.. such a JOY! 😍
She allowed me to leave my bags cos I was shopping at the famous Porta Porte Sunday market so I could pack clothes before I left.
Loved their breakfast tie up with the cafe just 30 seconds walk away.
Enjoyed a quiet room with microwave & central location 🤩
- Francesco (10/5): best 10/10 I have ever been to - Awesome welcome, the owner was super helpful and available at all times, a true expert of Rome and it shows in the endless suggestions that she gave me as soon as I arrived. The room was way better than expected, and incredibly clean since first day. Bonus point for the bathtub, which had hydromassage :) . Location is excellent in an awesome area of Rome. Will definitely return! Absolutely Nothing
- Luca (10/5): Perfect location to visit Rome - Location, cleanliness and great host
- Porscha (8/5): Very good - Our host Katia was amazing from the second we booked. She sent through so many recommendations of places to eat and visit. Also train and bus routes and timetables to make our time in Rome carefree.
The room was comfortable and right near a main train line. Little bit of a walk into Trastevere, but we didn't mind at all. Self contained if yiu are staying for a longer stay. I would definitely recommend to stay here.
- Gabrielle (10/5): The best way to experience Rome. - Katia is the owner of this property, and it was like being a guest in her own home. She made me feel very welcome and was so willing to make sure I not only had what I needed in my room, but also that I had what I needed to explore Rome. The property is located across the street from the Trastevere train station which made it very convenient to access all parts of Rome at a very affordable price. The neighborhood is away from the hordes of tourists and gives an authentic Roman experience. I will stay at Luna Rossa again the next time I’m in Rome. Oh, and the breakfast is at the pastry shop across the street- the best pastries I tried while in Rome!
- William (10/5): Delightful place to stay and a hostess, Katia, without equal. - Traditional Italian breakfast, some form of coffee and a choice of croissants. Room with a view, but that would not be possible in the neighborhood.
- Endrina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timur (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect: cozy room; clean; perfect location! Katia is an amazing host who will give you lots of tips for your stay! If I’ll be in Rome again, I’ll stay here again for sure :-)
- Veronica (8/5): Very good -
- Maria (10/5): Our short stay was pleasant , comfortable and welcoming - The place was clean. It had an elevator to second floor which was very much needed with traveling suitcases . Katia was easily reachable, responding quickly when needed . She also helped us navigate to different eateries n sights .
- Denisa (8/5): I recommend this property for a short stay - Clean, very good location, very nice host The bed was not the most comfortable
- Vakha (10/5): Overall feeling is great. Katia is a very frienfly and helpful host. First choice for Rome next time - Location was good near Trastevere train station. Close to restaurants and public transport to city center.
Breakfasts you would like if you have a sweet tooth. But its not something i'm used to eat in the morning :)
- Jarmo (10/5): Perfect short stay in Trastevere - Katia is the most responsive, ultra fast host welcoming us personally.
The amount of information given about entering details, connections and nearby restaurant recommendations and analysis is the most extensive.
The room was very clean, the house is old but has everything we needed for a busy Roma visit.
Only a little of traffic sound from the alley and the street.
Very important is the good train connection to Fiumincino airport and 5 min walk to the guesthouse. Nop!
- Hati̇ce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Quest25683066322 (10/5): To Rome is not to wander. - Well Katie our host was absolutely fantastic. She was totally involved with us going to Rome and making sure we had everything we needed to have a great time. I cannot speak highly enough of her and her commitment to her customers. She gave us loads of eating options . How to get around Rome. What to see. The hotel is unpretentious but stylish. It is close to great transport links. My only regret is we stopped two nights before we left to go to ischia . I will certainly be returning when I go to Rome. Fantastic host
- justinesX9739RB (10/5): Top ten guest house with genuinely decent kind host - It is a lovely unpretentious, spotlessly clean, practical, comfortable guest house perfectly situated in Rome
to access not just the tourist sites, but local neighbourhoods. Although it’s right next to Trastevere station which links to Terminale to catch trains to other Italian destinations, its in walking distance to many great locations which is the best way to enjoy Rome. The accommodation has everything you need, sparklingly clean facilities, a kitchenette and small dinning area, and a very comfortable bed. Special praise has to go to the hostess who was exceptionally kind. Organising affordable transport when our plane was delayed, making sure we had water & special dietary foods we needed. There is also a lovely coffee shop where if you have less culinary fuss where guests can enjoy an Italian breakfast over the road. Our host also gave loads of practical advice specific to us and recommendations. We thought the guest house was up in our top ten of affordable but really great places to stay.
- Clifford (10/5): Great location, amazing host, lower meal costs (simply a great property) - This property is located in Trestavere, a section of rome that is about 2K from the center of the action. But, because of the distance, you get better value. Restaurants are less expensive, coffee and breakfast are very reasonable, etc. You're about a 2 minute walk from the train station, which has direct trains to the airport, and is also a hub for trams and buses.
Katia, the host was amazing. Very gracious, warm, and very organized. For almost any question that I posed about Rome, she provided a very detailed answer which allowed me to navigate the buses, and trams with very little difficulty.
When I stay in Rome again, I will absolutely stay in this property. It is very rare indeed, but I found nothing to dislike with this property.
- Sukhjinderpal (9/5): Perfect for my needs as a Solo Traveller - Katia is a wonderful thoughtful host who gave me any information I needed to enjoy my first trip to Rome
The room is nothing fancy but is clean and has everything you would need including aircon and ensuite shower
Breakfast (included) at the deli across the road was lush
Nice terrace overlooking the green garden
Train station so nearby A small bar of soap in the shower would have been useful
- Filip (10/5): We love Roma - Everything was perfect, special thanks to our host Katia. Location is close to public transport.
- Cochran (10/5): We stayed 2 nights and toured the coliseum and more. - The host, Katia was friendly and helpful with advice on how to get there and how to get around town, restaurant recommendations etc. It didn’t bother us but there is some street noise.
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kwak (10/5): Exceptional - Katia was extremely helpful during our stay in Rome, she showed us all the great restaraunts, which bus lines to take, and other information that really helped us get around Rome.
- Caterina (8/5): Overall comfortable - The room was clean and had everything needed for a solo/duo trip. Very appreciated the microwave and the sink. The room has even a balcony that gives on a lovely inside garden. The house is very close to the station Trastevere and the breakfast maritozzo at Maritozzaro is amazing. The host is very kind, she helped a lot with directions on the best way to get there. The room is a bit small, not much space to move in and you can hear noises from the other rooms.
- Mary (10/5): Great choice of accommodation - Excellent accomodation very close to Trastevere station and also bus routes, the river, Sunday markets. Katia the proprietor was an wonderful hostess.
- Anne (8/5): Very good -
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dahiana (10/5): excellent - Everything was excellent, Mrs. Katia's treatment was very welcoming and reliable.
- Clément (10/5): Exceptional -

- Χρύσα (10/5): Exceptional - Elegant and incredibly clean. The bed, bathroom, and kitchen were very comfortable. The location was perfect, right next to the station. The host was very kind and helpful.
- Rachel (10/5): A wonderful place to stay in Rome, stylish, well located and with an exceptional host. - Great location, close to the Trastevere station (on the line from Fiumicino) and within easy walking distance of the city centre, very clean, stylish and well equipped rooms with a lovely garden view and everything needed for a short stay. Katia was an exceptional host, so friendly and welcoming and with great recommendations for transport, places to eat and see.
Yummy breakfast pastry and coffee provided at local cafe La Maritozzo. Nothing!
- Maddi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonna (10/5): Thanks a million, Katia. We will be back! - Katia was amazing! She sent helpful information and recommended good local restaurants. My daughter fell ill and she helped by letting us use the room later than planned.
The location was close to the station and very quiet with the bedroom facing the garden.
It was useful having a kitchen & sitting area that was separate from the bedroom.
- Christianah (9/5): Luna Rossa house is a home from home. - -Katia prepared all necessary information for signpost to ensure getting around and enjoying Roma. The double bed was comfortable enough but creaks at the middle part.
- Peter (10/5): Fantastic stay, highly recommend. - Great location. Very friendly and helpful host. Clean room. Nothing. It was perfect.
- Venere (10/5): Exceptional - Super hostess who provided many insights and very helpful with information about Roma. Clean and welcoming room.
A bit far away from the main attractions and yet very convenient to the train [direct which takes about 30 minutes to the Fiumicino airport] and buses which require changes for the train since it is not a metro line.
- Shuli (8/5): Wonderful host and convenient Trastevere station location - Katia is wonderful at communicating with guests, and sends information about anything you want to know. She helps with travel plans, train times, history, etc. I thought the room was a bit noisy and could hear others closing the main hallway door, construction above, kids partying, the elevator, etc.
- Kai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luca (10/5): Exceptional - Great host, always available and caring
- Shvetam (10/5): Exceptional - Location is good and host is super helpful. Even before reaching, she will help you with finding the property with all possible routes. City map, things to do, helpful suggestions etc etc everything is present in this property.
- Louis (10/5): excellent and friendly - the rooms were spotless kiti went out of her way to make us comfortable my wife wasn't feeling well after the trip to italy kiti saw this and found us a night golfcart tour of Rome without her help we would have never seen Rome highlights i recommend this hotel 100% if we ever go back we will stay there again , nothing we loved it
- Saman (10/5): Exceptional - Katia was a great host. This was a great value for the money we paid. We enjoyed staying at this place.
- Andrea (8/5): Excellent host, great location - The host was very helpful with great information on what to see and where to eat. Great location for me since I took a train, short walk to the property. Would definitely come again
- Nikita (10/5): Exceptional - Katia is a wonderful host, and everything was exceptional. We enjoyed every aspect of our stay. I highly recommend this property to everyone.
- Joy (10/5): Luna Rossa Roma Guest House is the place to stay when visiting Rome! - Luna Rossa Roma Guest House was the perfect place for my short stay in Rome. It was located less than 10 minutes (walking) from the train station (which also had the tram stops to take you into the heart of Rome), it was easy to find, breakfast was at the cafe across the street and, the best part was Katia was the an amazing hostess! Anything I needed help with, she was a message away. She speaks fluent English and was able to help me change my train ticket time (by calling for me in Italian!). She knows the city and how to get around it and is happy to share - from trains to trams to walking to taking the subway, she is able to answer questions about any of that! She even had so many recommendations for places to eat. Nothing!
- JBod (10/5): Luna Rosa Roma Guest House Is The Place To Stay When Visiting Rome - Luna Rossa Roma Guest House was the perfect place for my short stay in Rome. It was located less than 10 minutes (walking) from the Roma Trastevere train station (which also had the tram stops to take you into the heart of Rome), it was easy to find, breakfast was at the cafe across the street and, the best part was Katia was the an amazing hostess! She even had so many recommendations for places to eat.
- Can (6/5): Good. But not "9.5+ good" - The host Katja is very friendly and extremely helpful if you have any questions. She can give good tips on restaurants, transportation and sights.
It should also be mentioned that Katja didn't miss the fact that it was my birthday on the 2nd day of the stay. She made the effort and put a little present in the fridge.
Other advantages of the accommodation are that the train station and therefore also trams and buses are only 5 minutes away The accommodation is right next to an underpass of a more or less main road. Some motorcyclists like to accelerate here in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, you can't miss it. You can't sleep with the window open because of the traffic noise. The air conditioning was a little helpful here, but not the best solution either.
To take the included breakfast you have to go to the restaurant "II Maritozzaro" opposite the accommodation where you can choose a pastry and a drink of your choice.
However, the staff in this store were regularly not really friendly. It seemed as if they were reluctant to serve tourists
We had a bad feeling every time we went in there and ordered something.
We expected something else for the extremely high rating. Don't get me wrong. The accommodation is good but definitely doesn't live up to the rating on this platform.
It should also be mentioned that the cleaning lady came to the room on one day, although we had canceled her the day before. It wasn't tragic but should be mentioned as you don't cancel a service without a reason.
- Pound (10/5): The most wonderful place to stay in Rome with an even more wonderful host. - I have no bad comments. This is a wonderful place to stay with a more than wonderful host. The room is very large and has a beautiful view of the garden in the center of the apartment complex. Our host was very responsive and overall the most wonderful host we stayed with during our trip to Italy. We honestly were wanting to extend our stay here but it was booked out so we couldn’t. 10/10 would stay here again.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Jorge (10/5): We will comeback again, for sure! - Everything was perfect but I had to mention the host, Katia! Super friendly, helpful and thoughtful person. She gave us the most valuable information that we could had on how to move, eat and explore Rome. On top of that, always available for any doubt we could have, Thank you so much, Katia. Everything was perfect!
- Galo (10/5): Exceptional - The hostess gave me all the info I needed to reach the apartment, to move around, restaurants, etc. I have never had so well prepared welcome
- Susan (9/5): Excellent Rome - Advance contact from the owner, supplying information & advice on how to get there.
Meet & greet on arrival, thorough knowledge of the area, & written info on specific points very helpful. Took the time to explain & discuss areas of interest & best visits. Owner went above & beyond to obtain info on our interests too.
Location ideal for all popular historical sites. Frequency of Transport excellent, ie trains, trams & or buses just a short walk away.
Appartment well equipped, spotlessly clean & check in each day with clean linen. Owner kept in contact during our stay, ensuring we were happy.
- Daren (9/5): Perfect stay for a weekend in Rome - Perfect location to explore Rome. Super close to Trastevere station which has direct trains from the airport. Easy walk or tram ride into the central part of Trastevere and beyond into the old city to explore the major sites. Lovely room with all the amenities - clean bathroom, quiet terrace (our room faced the central courtyard), comfy bed, and amazing food recommendations by Katia. She really went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. None
- Giorgio (9/5): We loved it - Very good Nothing
- Sue-ken (9/5): Superb - Extremely convenient location 5 minutes walk from Trastevere train station which is ½ hour to Fiumicino and by a cheaper service. Easy to reach tourist destinations in Rome by public transport. Room very comfortable with modern furnishings, spacious shower, and has a little self-catering setup. Host was very welcoming, friendly, accommodating and provided lots of good tips. Breakfast is in a local cafe which makes yummy maritozzi buns. Given that there is self-catering in the room, perhaps a deal could be made to have breakfast pastries delivered to the apartment? That would be a selling point. Per night price is high but that's probably par for Rome.
- Violeta (10/5): Friendly, confortable and super clean - Katia was exceptional in communication. I never had someone texting so much of useful information when traveling. She sent me places to eat with details of what to eat there and how far from the apartment; train schedules, how to work with the keys of the apartment, photos, prices, transport options... She was super friendly and professional at the same time. Also, the bedroom was cleaned everyday which was a huge plus.
- Susan (10/5): Highly recommended for quality accomodation, location and welcoming host. Would definitely return! - Cleanliness, comfort and convenient location. Warm and informative welcome by host. Bathroom and kitchen of a high standard. Very little to complain about. Thank you !
- Carrie (10/5): Perfect for exploring Rome! A very comfortable place, close to transportation, and EXCEPTIONAL staff - Very convenient and tasty! Location was a little farther from center of Travastere than we anticipated but still perfectly walkable!
- Pavla (10/5): Everything was perfect :-) - Our stay was really exceptional thanks to Katia, who was the best host we could have asked for, we felt really cared for. We had the blue room and it had all we needed for a week - the furniture and equipment was new and tasteful, the bed was comfortable, there was enough space to store clothes and other things, a proper sitting area, smart TV, the kitchen equipment was especially useful for a week long stay (oh, and the Easter chocolates!) and as a touch of luxury also the hot tub (much appreciated after a particularly rainy day). Our room was cleaned daily. Katia welcomed us, provided us with great tips (on a handout - do read it, the info is very useful!) and other tips and also answered loads of our questions. We did not opt for breakfasts due to my gluten allergy and as a lovely suprise we received from Katia complimentary breakfast at the Il Maritozzaro bar - my partner was super happy with the yummy pastry offer there and we both enjoyed the great coffee.
The place is very convenient to get around Rome and felt quite safe even after dark. There is a direct train between Fiumicino airport and Trastevere station and there is also a train from Trastevere to St. Pietro station (convenient to access Vatican and surroundings). Trams from Trastevere station stops go to many important sights across the city. There are also plenty of buses going all across Rome. Near the guest house are several supermarkets, restaurants, bars and cafes. The location is very easy to find and Rome is a walkable city - we overestimated how much we would use public transport.
We definitely plan to visit Rome again and stay at Luna Rossa guest house :-)
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leticia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect. The room was very new, nice and clean. Katia, our host, was highly attentive, taking care of us having a good stay at every moment. If I return to Rome I would stay at Luna Rossa again.
- Liviu (9/5): Everything was perfect -
- Marman33 (10/5): Wonderful gem in Trastevere - Katia is an absolute wonderful host! She will provide you with tons of information and tips. Was also nice having the amazing breakfast with "Maritozzo" and all the small sweet treats in the room , along with water on the fridge.
- Nikola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Igor (10/5): I totally recommend the place and hope to return there myself :) - I liked literally everything. The apartment is located in a nice safe area in a 30 minutes walk
from the center. There are lots of bars, cafes and restaurants in the neighbourhood. For breakfast you can choose a drink and a sweet/salty pastry in one of the suggested cafes. The apartment itself is truly cozy, spacious and has everything for a comfortable stay: starting from the large back-friendly bed to the well equipped kitchen area..and,the cherry on top for me in this season was the jacuzzi bath, which helped me relax after the long walks around the city. The windows overlooking a quiet yard with orange trees provided me with good mood every morning. And my very special thanks to the lovely host Katia who was not only friendly but also most helpful in a variety of situations I faced :) Can’t remember anything
