Mona und Lucien pflegen ihr B&B auf eine sehr persönliche Art. So sollten alle B&Bs sein. Das charmante Haus in der Altstadt hat Stil. Dafür ist das WC mit Dusche verständlicherweise etwas eng.

Das Badezimmer ist etwas eng, was jedoch dem Charakter und der Bauweise des Hauses entspricht und für uns insgesamt gut gepasst hat. Das Bett war sehr schmal und die Matratze war sehr weich und durchgelegen.

The breakfast was amazing and they even went out of their way to buy & make us foods we loved!! The bed was so comfy and cute - the view of the castle and ability to walk around the city made the location perfect. I would recommend this stay a million times over. They chatted with us over breakfast and it just really added to the authenticity of the stay. Nothing everything was wonderful!!

Da Fenster und Glastür zum Treppenhaus nicht vollständig abgeschirmt werden konnten, war der Einblick ins Zimmer leicht möglich. Beim Frühstück gibt es nicht genügend Platz, sodass ich an einen Vierertisch gewiesen wurde mit drei anderen Personen. Die waren sehr nett, aber man hat keine Wahl. Beim Buchen ist nicht klar, dass man kein eigenes Bad hat.

• Ian (10/5): Great example of an Old City building close to everything. - This apartment is being run as a genuine B&B. The owners are there when you arrive, look after you during your stay, provide a lovely breakfast, and bid farewell to you when you leave. (I am concerned by how many places now are faceless. Send copy of passport; receive instructions and keycode by return email etc etc). The location of the building is right in the fun area of the Old City. In the next street across along the waterway, is a buzzing cafe precinct. The actual street itself is full of old world charm. The owners were full of information about the area, and helped us to settle in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. And everything we wanted to see was in easy walking distance - especially the train station. We don't want to detract from the charm of this place, but it is worth noting that the building has narrowish stairs between each level. There are two rooms per level and the charming and well-stocked breakfast room is on another level. We had carry-on and check-in size luggage. The stairs were a bit tricky, but doing the large bags one at a time was fine. And the owners immediately gave assistance with the bags. We had been allocated a top floor room with good views presumably, but once they saw our luggage, they offered us a lower room at our choice - which we accepted. If you just have backpacks or carry-on luggage, you won't have a problem. And a bit of advice for arrival. They will send you instructions on how to find the front door. We got them and didn't read in full. The street is amazing. The footpath is elevated above the street. If you walk along the footpath, at the address is a shop front. Luckily we were guided to the right place. Go back to street level, walk to the same number, and you have the front door of the building. Amazing design. And as I mentioned, we were told in advance. (Whoops). Nothing to mention. You will enjoy it here.

Muna an - Muna and Lucien are incredible hosts who made our stay memorable! Their bed & breakfast is perfectly located in the center of Thun - just steps from the riverfront, the castle, and all the cafés and shops. The house itself feels like a little piece of Thun’s story: one of the original town buildings with charming, quirky details that give you a real sense of the city’s history.

• Daria (7/5): - The hotel is a bit old and would definitely benefit from some renovation (this is the biggest disadvantage). However, the hosts were extremely polite and welcoming - special thanks for the late check-in! The breakfast didn’t have much variety, but it was freshly prepared by the hosts, which made it feel homely and pleasant.
• Dieter (4/5): Etwas enttäuschend - Die Lage ist super, in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Eingang zum Schlossparking, direkt in der verkehrsfreien Altstadt, perfekt zum Flanieren, Essen, Bars geniessen... Es hat nur ein kleines WC/Dusche pro Etage, keines im Zimmer. Das Zimmer ist sehr ringhörig. Man "steht" jedesmal im Bett, wenn jemand aufs WC muss oder die Treppe rauf und runter. Die Zimmer liegen im 3./4. Stock. Es hat nur enge Treppen, keinen Lift. Das Bett war relativ schmal und die Matratze echt schlecht und wohl "durchgelegen". Der Checkout war bereits um 10 Uhr, inklusive Frühstück. Nicht verhandelbar. Immerhin wurde uns als Kompromiss ein Frühstück im Rest. Reber offeriert. Das haben wir geschätzt.

• Stephanie (8/5): Wir würden die Unterkunft sofort wieder buchen und es war ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt - Wir wurden sehr herzlich begrüsst und in Empfang genommen. Sie sind beide sehr empathisch, hilfsbereit sowie zuvorkommend. Wir haben uns rundum gut versorgt und sehr wohl gefühlt.
• Lukas (10/5): Gastgeber mit Leidenschaft - Tolle freundliche Gästebetreuung durch Muna und Lucien. Unkompliziert vom Check-in bis zur Abreise. Das Frühstück mit viel Liebe zubereitet und ein Konfi-Buffet (hausgemacht natürlich) bei dem die Auswahl sehr schwer fiel. Das Haus ein Bijou und der Garten mit Frühstücks Terrasse klein aber fein, wie alles im Haus sehr Stilvoll eingerichtet.

• Riikka (8/5): Tunnelmallinen majoitus vanhassakaupungissa - Tunnelmallinen vanha talo vanhassa kaupungissa lyhyen kävelymatkan päässä rautatieasemasta. Muna & Lucien olivat erittäin avuliaita. Erinomaisella aamiaisella tarjottiin lähialueen tuottajien tuotteita ja itsetehtyjä hilloja, gluteenittomuuteni otettiin hyvin huomioon kun siitä etukäteen ilmoitin. Saimme hyviä vinkkejä aktiviteeteista. Huone sijaitsi ylimmässä kerroksessa ja siinä ei ollut ilmastointia joten 30 asteen helteillä sisällä oli lämmintä. En uskaltanut pitää ikkunaa auki, sillä ulkopuolella liikkui kissoja katolla eikä ikkunassa ollut mitään estettä. Talossa on erittäin paljon portaita joten ei sovellu liikuntarajoitteisille.

I wish every small family run hotel was like this! Great value and exceptional location. Didn't bother me at all, but worth being aware that this is a tall, thin property so if you stay at the top there's a lot of stairs to negotiate, so it's not suitable for people who have trouble walking.

• Ilari (10/5): A charming, welcoming place to stay - Muna and Lucien were welcoming and friendly and sought to cater our needs (arranging a vegan breakfast on a short notice for example). The accomodation was located on a very central spot and was very homely.

• Stanley (9/5): Hidden gem in Thun. - The location was very good as it was close to train station and ferry. Muna was especially a fantastic host, genuinely interested and engaging about our trip. We stayed for 4 nights and breakfasts were exceptional. The best we have had for a long time. Muna paid special attention to my dietary needs. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. Don’t be put off by the narrow staircase as we became accustomed to the historical building. The property is located on the historic Obere Hauptgasse and can be quite noisy on Friday and Saturday nights. But don’t let that put you off!

Surprisingly quiet in the back of the property. Also surprisingly cool and quiet at night even in hot August. Secure storage for our E-bikes was nice. Very good breakfast! Again, Muna and Lucien are great hosts, I wish we were able to stay longer! Only drawback for us was the small double bed.

Personable, kind, punctual and spoke excellent English (thank you!). The building is very old, but clean and the room was very comfortable. The shared bathroom was fine: small but efficient and again - spotlessly clean. We felt welcome and would have loved to stay longer if our schedule permitted. Check-in and out was super easy. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend! must be able to walk steps

Breakfast was amazing! We had a top floor room that was too warm with the window closed because of rain, so we used the fan and Muna provided a light blanket to use instead of the duvet.

• Norman (10/5): Delightful centrally located bed and breakfast and superb hosts. - Muna and Lucien were very welcoming and helpful, the range and quality of food at breakfast was excellent (a lot of home made preserves), there was a kitchen for guests' use and an attractive back garden. We enjoyed our stay in this interesting conveniently located traditional town house. There was nothing we didn't like. The four stories and twisting staircases plus the small shared bathroom could be a problem for some guests.

The location was excellent the breakfast was excellent, the Bedding was excellent. I prefer a private bathroom, but chose this location based on value / price which included a shared bathroom.

It's in the old town, so it's guaranteed you will have an awesome, genuine experience. Nothing. It's all stairs, but that's part of the experience!

• Jaroslav (9/5): Lovely place for quite a cheap price in a center of Thun, that I can recommend to visit. - A small very cozy hotel with a family-like atmosphere and nice location in the center of Thun. I had very nice room with a view on a castle. I also greatly appreciated Muna and Lucien, who made me feel not like in a hotel, but like visiting someone else´s home. When you look for the accomodation on the street, it is from "downstairs" (it is basically located below the terrace on the lower street level) Although the room was nice and with a castle view, its wall was adjacent to shared toilet and shower wall, so I could hear people taking shower at 6 AM.

Location is central just in front of the castle and cathedral, also near restaurants, pubs and bars. Thun was a very pleasant surprise and a highlight of our Switzerland tour.
• Janice (9/5): Comfortable stay, in a quiet but convenient location. - The accommodation was clean, and comfortable, albeit, our room was in the eaves, so lots of ducking to get into bed without banging my head, and not much room around the bed for moving about. Not very suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Lovely being able to open the velux windows and see the castle, and hear the church bells. We were glad that there was a fan supplied, as it was very warm when we were there. Nothing seemed too much trouble for our hosts. A little cramped, and with a shared bathroom, you’d hope that everyone would lock the bathroom door….someone didn’t, and I was very embarrassed at 2:30 in the morning, when I walked in on a male guest! 🫣

For example, in much of Europe you get only a duvet with no top sheet. I sleep hot and this arrangement doesn't work for me. Lucien & Muna solved it for me immediately with a creative solution. Bed was comfortable and they accommodated my request for a quieter room. The breakfast was a home made, locally sourced, truly delicious example of traditional European breakfast. Nothing

She absolutely insisted that she would serve me breakfast at 6 am despite my urging her not to do so. And she makes the best cup of tea I've ever had in my long travel history. What can I add except that Lucien stands like a rock of support for her. Thank you for making Thun unforgettable! Really? Are you serious?

• Mei (8/5): Happy and thanks so much for all helps. - It's in old town. Very special. The owner is very friendly. I arrived earlier but she tried to assist me and all the time. Thanks so much for help. It provides kitchen and you can cook here. It provides traffic card, too and you can take bus for free. You get the card even before you arrive. Good to eat breakfast in a garden. Enjoy it. The best one is electric fan! So comfortable. It's an old department. A little noisy when someone walks. There's no elevator. The washroom is small and share. However, alles gute!😉
• Kenneth (10/5): A special place with perfect hosts - Muna and Lucien were perfect hosts. I was due to arrive later than the specified check-in times, but they said that was no problem. Then my train was delayed an hour. Lucien was at the front door to greet me as I arrived at 22:40 and carried my heavy suitcase up 7 flights of stairs. (Don't stay here if you struggle with stairs. It's 8 stories high). Their place is an old narrow tall shop in the middle of the old town - full of character. It's a minute's walk from the river-side with lots of bars and restaurants - very lively. I woke up to a stunning view of the Stockhorn over the roofs of the old town. I had to leave early to catch a train and they provided an excellent breakfast at 7am. Nothing was too much trouble. I would love to visit again. Nothing.
• Ben (10/5): I'll book again anytime I'm in Thun or nearby. Exceptional stay. - Everything. Entry on the arrival was simple and well signposted. Muna and Lucien were the loveliest hosts. Breakfast had great variety and was really tasty. Rooms were amazing and tge building was stunning. Great place.

• Pallavi (8/5): Great location and good for a short stay for a couple - We used Thun as a base and stayed with Muna and Lucien for a week with family. Muna and Lucien were very warm and hospitable and were great hosts. Also the location is great. Right in the middle of old town with the train station just a 5-7 mins walk and Thun castle behind. Having an attached kitchenette with the room was very convenient as well even though it was shared. Would rate it 8.5 stars overall. The room was a bit on the smaller end but to be fair it's comfortable for a couple rather than a family of 3. The shared bathroom was slightly uncomfortable and was small esp for anyone over 6 feet. Besides that the noise from the street esp on the weekend did keep us up for a couple of days.

It is a very special guest house in the middle of the old town of Thun. I particularly enjoyed the personal attendance of the owners Muna and Lucien who made my stay there very comfortable. Muna prepares a delicious breakfast, lovely presented, with homemade products, all bio quality. I will definitely be back there for my next stay in Thun.

They cared about every detail and made us feel as comfortable as possible. They even got some toys for my daughter so she could have something to play with during our stay. The breakfast was delicious and there were lots of options to choose. The location was perfect, the place was cozy and warm. I highly recommend this place 😊
