Guest Reviews
- Lyn (10/5): Highly recommend a stay in this house that provided everything a home has. - Exceptional home presented by owner that provided comfort, warmth and feeling like you are at home. It was very clean, with large open kitchen, dining lounge area. 3 x King Beds for your comfort. Owner also provided the following bacon & eggs, bread, juice, milk etc Everything is done to a high standard.

- Robyn (9/5): Very relaxing , easy walk to town for coffee. Great home - The home was very comfortable, facilities & location where excellent Nothing , it was perfect
- Matilda (9/5): Great stay! - Amazing house, great size, and all the facilities you would need stayed here with our young family. Close walk to the main street and all the beds and couches are so comfortable. Would definitely stay again! This isn't a dislike but a note to other travellers this is a pet friendly house - owning a dog this is great, he will be coming next time. But what we didn't think through is my husband is highly allergic to cats and obviously being pet friendly cats can come! Wasn't an issue we just didn't bring his medication with us and so if you also experience pet allergies just remember the antihistamines! It did not in anyway effect our stay and we will be back.
- Ali (9/5): Great cottage in Clare - Surpisingly spacious cottage only a short walk from town.
Generous breakfast supplies.
Clean, well equipped kitchen.
Very comfortable beds.
Excellent communication from the owner.
We would definitely stay here again. Nothing
- Kathy (9/5): amazing and have stayed in Sue's properties multiple times and will plan to stay again - Sue has done amazing decor and comfort features some issues in kitchen
- May (10/5): Great comfortable home away from home -
- Karen (10/5): Beautiful property, very comfortable. Great communication from Sue. Thank you. Comfortable, clean and a gorgeous place t - Lovely place to stay in Clare. Perfect location.
- Philomena (8/5): -
- Anthony (9/5): - Comfortable extremely well equipped house
- Jodie (10/5): A calm, peaceful oasis - Staying at Jack's House was a very calming experience. We really couldn't fault anything. The house was spacious with everything you could possibly think of and the beds... soooo comfortable. Thanks Sue, we would definitely recommend.
- Diann (8/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): Jacks House - Great location, comfy beds, great lounge we could all fit on. Included hot breakfast one morning, cereal the next.
Heaters worked well. Yard would be fantastic for kids. Kitchen well appointed.
Excellent communication with owners. Some of the towels and robes a bit old and worn. Shower had no door so water all over the bathroom floor. When opening bedroom windows there was dirt and grime in the window sills. Biggest one was that it was advertised as 3 bed with 1 bedroom having twin single beds. This wasn't the case - queen beds in all bedrooms causing one of our group to sleep on the couch
- Keryn (10/5): Beautifully decorated and fitted out cottage in a good location - Absolutely gorgeous property that was extremely well stocked and a fabulous attention to decor detail. The three bedrooms were all spacious with very comfortable queen beds. We wanted for nothing. Nothing
- Bernie (10/5): - Great facility, wanted for nothing. N/A
- Brenton Cabban (10/5): Was a great stay, the host was excellent. I would go back - Bacon, eggs, mushrooms & spinach provided for 1 morning was great. Enough to feed us all. It had 2 king beds that could turn into double singles for additional people. I liked the whole set-up
- Bates (10/5): - It was very spacious clean house with everything you could want will stay there again
- Graeme (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): -
- Emily (10/5): Excellent and would definitely recommend to others! - Loved the location. 10 min walk from the Bentley’s pub and so close to all of the cellar doors and would have been easy to hire e-bikes (but we had a lot of rain!) as they were only a walk away. The accommodation was really cute and cosy. Great amenities. Comfy beds. Lots of games to play with. Breakfast was generous. Heater was very good too!! The only thing (if I had to pick one) was the fan in the bathroom wasn’t very strong so the bathroom steams up a lot and made the floor very slippery and wet by the time 4 of us had a shower in the morning. It wasn’t a huge issue though but it could be a hazard if we were travelling with kids
- jennifer (10/5): - Huge place, great location, nice and warm (we stayed in winter)
- Margaret (9/5): Comfortable beds. Comfortable lounge. - Within walking distance of main street. There were multiple choices of eateries. We chose the Pub and had a great meal.
Facilities at Jacks meant we could cook our own meals. Breakfast was supplied and in generous quantities. Nothing bad. More a bit quirky. The very modern bathroom has fabulous shower and heating. But its entry is off the kitchen. Sort of where you would expect to find the pantry.
All good was never an issue.
- Cheryl (10/5): Absolutely Fantastic - Sues Properties are amazing , everything you need , great shower , comfy beds. BIG lounge suite , entertainment , books , fabbo kitchen and facilities and very generous breaky provisions and a pod machine yay
- Tracey (10/5): Warm, comfortable, roomy, clean and cosy - Spacious, very clean, awesome towels and linen, fantastic breakfast, everything we needed, close walk to dining Everything was great (but I did want tomato sauce)
- Samantha (10/5): Short break in Clare - Well equipped with everything you might need. Beds were luxurious and towels were soft and fluffy
- Karen (9/5): We had two nights here, it was peaceful, close to the Main Street but not too close. - Location was great. Very roomy, large bedrooms, quality furnishings. Breakfast provisions were very generous.
- Tiina (10/5): Beautiful property in a fabulous location - Very comfortable accommodation in a fabulous location
This was a return visit
Beautifully presented both inside and out
The perfect place to spend a few days exploring the Clare Valley with overseas relatives
Even had a pizza oven which we enjoyed using on our last night
- Jayne (10/5): Fantastic place. Spacious, well situated, comfortable, well appointed & homely. - Lovely spacious home- well appointed, tastefully decorated, great shower & comfy beds. Felt like home. Great access to fabulous wineries, bakeries, restaurants & pubs. The bed pillows did not smell very fresh .
Vegemite might be a good addition.
1 girl we travelled with has food allergies & would have targeted the milk juice etc in original packaging.
That’s being fussy- we had a marvellous stay.
- Judi (10/5): Home away from home. - Quiet location, very well equipped & clean. Beds comfortable & everything worked. Also good breakfast provisions, for both nights.
- Judith (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet location, very comfortable and well equipped house. All good
- B (9/5): Cozy stay for a family holiday <3 - Cozy, presentable, clear, and easy check in check out, various board games. Good size bedrooms. Excellent location, good wifi , in room TV.
Pet friendly (tho I didn't bring my dog with me...maybe next time!) Stains found on most bath towels...luckily we brought our own towels...
- John (10/5): Clare valley idyll - Breakfast was provided with generous amounts of cereal to choose from with milk, juice, eggs and bacon in the fridge.
Coffee pods were much appreciated though 1871 cafe in town is a great place to go.
The property is well presented with 3 good sized king-sized beds made up for us. The soft furnishings and bedding were lovely and homely. Sue also contacted us to check how we wanted the beds set up.
It was a short 600 metre walk down into Clare itself. We were able to walk to and from Mr Mick's Cellars for a wine-soaked lunch. The only thing that I think would improve the property would be a second toilet. Also some guidance of when to put bins out etc.
- Miranda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gary (9/5): Excellent and clean and you just need your toothbrush. - Location was perfect quiet but yet closer to town. Breakfast was great the size of the property and they thought of everything. Games and dvd for kids. It would be nice to have a second bathroom if you had maximum staying.
- Peter (8/5): Very good -
- Haydon (9/5): Very laid back and comfortable Home away from home - Independence One toilet
- Jacqui (8/5): Home away from Home! - the house was very well equipped. Sue thinks of all the homely touches you may need when travelling. the house was very nicely presented the shower room is a bit small.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (9/5): Fantastic ! Loved it will come back - Character, comfortable beds, attention to detail eg felt like a home, thoughtful eg dog gear, locations & nice & warm Worry we cause water in shower to spill out
- Cynthia (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the accommodation to anyone coming to Clare. - Breakfast supplies were more than adequate. The size of the lounge/dining area amazed us.
Position of the house was very convenient. It would be good to have had a hand rail for the front steps as we are both in our 80s.
- Deb (10/5): My friends and I had a great stay in Jack's house. I would book the house again. - Jack's house is in a great central location in Clare. It is within walking distance to the main street. The house is well equipped, clean and nicely decorated. It was a bonus to have electric blankets on all the beds. There was some confusion at the beginning of our stay regarding the internet. The 'house instructions' on the table in the dining room were not correct. I did not realise that the correct instructions were written on the blackboard until after we had looked under the modem. It was sorted quickly so I did not see this as a major issue.
- Atkinson (6/5): A disappointing property overall which could be much improved. - Great position, bedrooms well decorated and comfortable. Kitchen, bathroom, laundry badly need renovating and a good clean. Kitchen equipment was greasy to the touch and badly needed cleaning. Glasses in cabinet were very dirty. Windows in lounge area needed washing.
- Masako (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cindy (10/5): A lovely home away from home. - Location, good space, comfortable
- Kirsty (10/5): Highly recommend this property and I would definitely stay there again. - What a wonderful place to stay! The breakfast was so plentiful and delicious. House was beautifully decorated, spacious and catered for all our needs. Useful information on local places of interest was provided.
- Lorena (10/5): Couldn't have asked for more - Exceptional beds and linen. Electric blankets much appreciated. Extremely well appointed kitchen and lounge with so many details for comfort considered. Continental and cooked breakfasts lovely. Super-clean throughout. Would be wonderful for doggies to.
- Charlotte (10/5): 10/10 stay for all the family (dog included!) - Great location; garden was an excellent size; house was perfect for what we needed!
- Campain (9/5): Superb -
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yoshymi (9/5): Really lovely and would recommend - Great little home with small additions like bathrobes and breakfast provisions. Comfortable beds - so great for sleeping. Lovely quiet location within walking distance to everything you need in the township.
Great backyard - wish it was warmer so we could have used it more. The bathroom was a bit small but it was clean and had what we needed - although an additional towel or two would have been nice.
- Pam (9/5): Superb -
- Sabrina (8/5): comfortable home in a good location. - comfortable house. good location. one bedroom is not air conditioned.
- Cheryle (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, quiet area. The weather was very hot when we were there but the house was cool. Enjoyed the covered outside area. Nothing

- Jordanne (9/5): Great stay in Clare - Great location and and excellent array of basic household goods. the main bedroom bed requires replacing. no heating in the second bedroom.
- Valerie (10/5): A well appointed, comfortable home away from home in a lovely setting. -
- Marcus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Papazacharoudakis (10/5): Beautiful family vacation - Beautiful spacious home with everything available in the house to ensure a fantastic holiday. Perfect for kids and for furry friends. Yummy breakfast supplies were left for our enjoyment. There was nothing negative to say about the hone
- John (9/5): Superb - Great location in the town, close drive to wineries , quiet location , everything we needed, very generous breakfast supplies! Would stay again thanks
- Elizabeth (9/5): Beautiful, dog friendly house - Great location, park and pool just down the road and a 5 minute walk to the main street. We were able to bring our dog too. Beautiful large bedrooms and a comfortable lounge area.

- Jodie (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (9/5): Wonderful - My family and I stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The house is in a great location. Beds were very comfortable as was the lounge area. A variety of things were provided for breakfast and the house was very clean and tidy. The owner was also very helpful if needed. I would highly recommend. The ONLY thing we didn't like was the water pressure in the shower, which I think is due to having an oversized shower head. Other than that, the place was perfect for us.
- Peta (8/5): Lovely home in a great location to explore the Clare Valley - Great location only two blocks from the centre of town and the Riesling trail. Lovely bright, spacious living area. Beautiful bedrooms. Off street parking provided. We were two couples but spacious enough to host three couples comfortably so well set up for groups. Rather odd bathroom set up which could be an issue for larger groups. Shower pressure very weak.
- Jackie (10/5): Exceptional - The house was exceptional large open plan lovely and clean the beds were very comfortable crisp and clean this house had everything we needed close walk to main street great country feel Can't fault this accommodation
- Brayden (9/5): Superb -
