Guest Reviews
- Serhii (10/5): Klimatyczny apartament w zabytkowej kamienicy i dwa piętra na wyłączność. - Klimatyczne wnętrza starej kamienicy w centrum miasta.
- Ilse (10/5): - Heel mooi appartement in hartje Gent. Prachtige inrichting, schitterende lichtinval in keuken en zalig terras. Een aanrader zonder twijfel. Niets
- Maria Antonia (7/5): - Super centrale, non perfettamente pulita.
Rapporto qualità prezzo non appropriato.
- SARAH (7/5): - Mooi pand nabij hartje Gent. Erg rustige buurt, heel aangenaam!
Grote slaapkamer (1e verd), mooie vloer.
Goed bed.
- Amy (9/5): Charming Flat in a great location! - Loved the flat! The living area and open kitchen were beautiful and wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy it more! The toilet in the bedroom upstairs wasn't functioning properly, however the owner was helpful explaining how it could be used. It was set to be repaired in the upcoming days.
- Cecilie (8/5): - God beliggenhet i byen og den kunstneriske utformingen av rommene. Ekstra god og variert informasjon fra utleier. Bedre om alt var på en boflate.

- Lucyna (8/5): It felt comfy and somewhat magically - Super nice art vibe. The little backyard garden, despite being in a bit rough condition, felt almost magical, with the fireplace and ancient looking door. Once the owners make it nicer, it’ll be a real jewel! It’s not like I didn’t like it, but if you book this place know that there are two parts - downstairs and upstairs. Both have toilets and bathrooms, the kitchen downstairs is nicely equipped, the one upstairs not much. Bedroom is upstairs. Downstairs is more of a living room. So be aware that you’ll need to climb some stairs. Again, I didn’t mind, was worth it for sure!
- Ugochi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sooin (8/5): Very good -
- Wing (7/5): Good -
- Serg (10/5): Great location! Close to the center, but very quiet. - Great location! Close to the center, but very quiet.
- Nick (8/5): Beautiful, spacious, tasteful, and affordable apartment in a good location. - Beautiful space, tastefully designed and furnished. Very spacious and generous, for a fair price. Really homey - wish we stayed longer than one night to enjoy this more! Unfortunately parts of the accommodation were not cleaned up to standard & toiletries and the slippers were missing. This was unfortunate - but our stay was pleasant nonetheless.
- Sue (9/5): Superb - I chose his property as it seemed a little quirky and it was fully of the owners personalities which I loved. Their work adorned the rooms and you felt you knew them a bit more.
Our host was very accommodating with dropping off our luggage and a later check out time which helped us hugely.
- Loic (8/5): Very good - There is a nice vibe in that house
- Evelin (9/5): Superb - I loved staying at your artistic loft, i appreciated Your tips about food and stuff were very good, i had fantastic dinner at Miss Yu and hugely enjoyable lunch at Stek, continued my webmeeting at Goya's with afternoon coffee. I loved my stay in Gent and am going to come here every time when invited to meetings in Brussels. Looking forward to the next time and more spare time for cultural experiences Did not meet hosts (my bad), be careful when sit on the carpet, the fluff doesnt come off your pants, later
- Bart (10/5): Exceptional - The bed slept like a charm and the space/place itself was amazing. Lots of room to enjoy a serene evening in the home itself. The host was easy to reach whenever we had any questions. Definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a spacious place and a great host.
- Daniela (8/5): huge stylish space perfectly located - the location, the apartment, the interieur, the communication with the host the house has all wooden floors and stairs which is beautiful but very loud. there is another living space above the sleeping room and you hear the people going in and out and around quite loudly. that was the only disadvantage.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property, great location
- Jeroen (9/5): Superb - Great location. Very responsive and helpful renters.
- Dc (3/5): Never again. Disappointing - Not much to be honest Old plain wooden stairs. Property spread over 2 floors. No lift. Toilet and bedroom on separate floors. Expensive. Bed below Average. No AC. Humid. Mosquitoes. No sign outside house that we are at the right place. Artists loft and garden, I did not see a garden. Booking.com should remove this property from the website.
- Gianluca (9/5): Pleasant stay - Nice flat in a well refurbished building
Close to centre You have to do some stairs… be prepared!
- Suzanne (8/5): Wonderful place to stay in Ghent - I'll definitely be back! - Loved my stay at the Artist Loft in Ghent - great location, easy to find and good amenities nearby. Really helpful to have the kettle and fridge available to use. And so much space! I was there on my own for work but would have been great for a small family. Eric was really helpful when I realised I'd left my phone charger in the apartment, and so I was able to retrieve it. The two levels are quite strange and I would have preferred the bedroom and bathroom on the same level - but I suspect that's to do with space and plumbing in an old building. The stairs might be challenging for older people or those that like alot of beer!
- Valentina (10/5): Amazing place! I’ll come back! - Very beautifully decorated The floors were a little dusty because of the old carpet
- Hans (8/5): Very good - nice location, 7 minutes walk to the center the toilet is one stairs down and the stairs are steep
- Sere (8/5): First time in Ghent, di happy to have chosen this s mace ☺️ - Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo
- Barbora (9/5): Spacious & in a quiet and central neighbourhood - The location is absolutely perfect, very central and quiet at the same time. It’s a stylish old house with vintage decorations - think maison de maître - so it may look narrow but you will be surprised how much space there actually is. We were in the Garden Room, which includes the ground floor and the first floor, and you really get A LOT of space. There is a sitting room and a dining room plus a kitchen on the ground floor, and a bathroom with a bathtub and a separate toilet. AND you get access to a small garden yard. If you take the stairs from the entrance hallway (shared with another room on 2nd and 3rd floors), you get to your bedroom, plus you have another, smaller bathroom and another room with a kitchenette. So really, you are not cramped! I only wouldn’t recommend it to people who are either too lazy or unable to climb stairs :) The owners, Eric and Lydia, are very helpful (they reacted very efficiently when we had a hiccup with the key), and in the room you will find a list of recommended places in Ghent with colourful descriptions. (I can add one more: café WAY, if you’re into specialty coffee!). There is a fridge, microwave, a kettle, a cooker and I think also an oven and coffee-maker (perhaps Nespresso?) in the kitchen – we were only staying for one night so didn’t even explore everything. I definitely think this is a good choice when visiting Ghent!
- Fran (9/5): A special place with a special host in a special city - Wonderful location in a great city full of art, food, good bars and beautiful views. Stylishly updated ground and first floor rooms - mid century aesthetic chiming with original features. Charming courtyard waits for summer to shine. The politest students in Europe in the area. All done with a touch of class and humour. Loved the artwork including the V&A photography exhibition I recognised! Very helpful and prompt communication from Eric who was super supportive and generous. All his suggestions were spot on - Alice for breakfast! Really we were big fans! We originally booked top two floors not realising that there were not full kitchen facilities; after a week of exceptional Belgian restaurants we wanted to dial it down and chill! Eric magnificently rose to the occasion and swapped us around. We were deeply grateful for his kindness. Both apartments have their merits but the ground floor could be truly magnificent with just a few tweaks such as more crockery, cutlery, a bread knife, some place mats and coasters, tea towels, overhead lighting switches in the living room working fully and some more hangers in wardrobe. If it had a washing machine and a TV/sound system we would move in! We very well may be back…
- Anastasios (10/5): Comfortable apartment on a central location of Ghent - Spacious and really comfortable and quiet place with great location. Owner was really kind and replying fast to the messages. Recommended
- Yiannis (9/5): Charming and beautifully decorated house just a stone throws away from Ghent centre - A beautiful house in a quiet neighborhood and a breath away from the historic centre of Ghent. The aesthetic and decoration of the house is impeccable and very carefully designed. The rooms are massive and it brings such a cosy vibe A lot of stairs. Not a big problem but you may struggle a bit if you have a big suitcase.
Otherwise the property is fabulous
- Kazacu (9/5): Superb -
- Paulus (8/5): Very good -
- Liz (8/5): Very good -
- Mateus (9/5): Superb -
- Zareifis (9/5): Superb -
- Duncan (9/5): Superb -
- Anne (9/5): Quirky and charming. - The accommodation has the charm of a bygone era and we liked the quirky and eclectic nature of the furnishings and paintings. The attic on 4th floor was the bedroom which housed a very comfortable KS bed, plenty of seating, space to enjoy a game of chess and an array of reading material. A lovely view over the roofs of the old city was a bonus. Easy walking distance to the old centre. Host very accommodating. It was a little challenging having to negotiate stairs during night to visit the bathroom on the level below but if one is fit that should not be a problem. Some more kitchen implements and microwave dish would be most useful.
- Ann (6/5): Conveniently located. - We stayed in the loft apartment. It is conveniently located in a quiet area. It is very spacious, but the layout is strange. Please note that the bedroom is on the 3rd floor and the lounge and bathroom is on the 2nd. Nice lounge suites and bed. Bathroom is on different floor to bedroom. Shower very small with a shower curtain. The stairs are very narrow and steep. You have to carry your suitcase in your arms in front of you.
- Rene (10/5): Enjoyable, good value stay with lots of space to spread out over a few days. - Lots of space, bright and tastefully decorated, quiet location but an easy walk to restaurants and sites. Having bathroom on different floor was a pain in the night.
- Anna (5/5): Passable - The interior design seems really artsy and stylish and the furniture is very comfortable.
Moreover the staff is very friendly and the location couldn't be better. Most importantly is to know that the bedroom is seperate from the rest of the apartment. It can only be reached by the public stairwell.
Sadly it wasn't very clean, the floor was still dirty and especially the apartment on the ground floor smelled strange.
- Oleg (10/5): Perfect - Everything is amazing Nothing
- Pablo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (10/5): Exceptional - Due to unforseen surcomstances, the room was not ready. The owner however immediately offered us a solution exceeding all expectations.
Lovely owner, great location, lively surroundings.
Relaxing atmosphere. Nothing!
- Laura (8/5): Very good - Large rooms, everything you need and as a bonus a small garden. Not all too clear how the rooms are divided, there is another room upstairs
- Saeid (8/5): Very good -
- Marc (5/5): Passable -
- Seijdel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (9/5): Great place to stay in Ghent - Fantastic and interesting building only a short walk from the city centre. Owners were very helpful in all correspondence. Slightly unclear which rooms were actually ours!
- Terra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ronel (8/5): Walking distance from the old town. - The location and a spacious apartment The fact that the bedroom was not close to the bathroom.
- Adrianbob (9/5): Great experience - This is a place out of the ordinary stays available on Booking: a lot of space is available to move around with some very nice touches. The location is close to town center and railway station (by foot), in a very quite area.
- Lea (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was great. It is a beautiful old apartment and stilishly furnished. There is a living room and a kitchen to share. Also everything super clean and nicely decorated. We had a great stay Gent. It is a wonderful city. Any time again we'd stay at Artist's Loft.
- Jasper (9/5): Superb -
- Erik (8/5): Very good -
- Roel (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (10/5): Perfect, beautiful apartment in a great location - The artists loft is an excellent place to stay. Very spacious and beautifully designed, it's also very easy to access in the city and close to the canalside/bars/restaurants/cultural sites. Erik's information in advance and in the apartment was really helpful and he also managed to accommodate a late request for an early check-in. The apartment was cosy with a very tranquil atmosphere. We absolutely loved it and would definitely stay there again if visiting Gent.
- Frank (8/5): A quirky interesting place to stay - Location was perfect9. Loads of space. Very generous and kind host (Lou). No bedroom door, but that was being fitted the day I left
- Cassidy (6/5): Good stay, but a couple of cons - Clean, comfortable bed, clear instructions for check in, appreciated having the coffee maker and plates, the decor has character. Good location in the city too. It was sweltering hot and there wasn’t even a fan in the attic. I thought there was television but there’s just a tv to play dvds. I didn’t like that the bedroom has no door and there’s another person living in the downstairs. I didn’t feel as safe and secure as I would have otherwise.
