• Amanda (9/5): Topverblijf, fijner dan standaard hotels! - Fijne rustige B&B. Mooi ingericht met topbedden en een heerlijke douche. Iets verder uit het centrum al is het goed te lopen. Maar de tramhalte van lijn T3 is ook vlakbij.

• S. (10/5): Top verblijf! - Super mooie kamer. Schoon, groot, goed bed. Eigenaar gaf goede tips bij aankomst. Locatie is perfect, klein stukje lopen naar het oude centrum. Als je een lichte slaper bent vraag dan om een kamer die niet aan de straat ligt, want daar is best veel lawaai ‘s nachrs (althans toen wij er waren in het weekend) . Niets! Alles was top, kleine tip is eventueel een spiegel in de kamer

Nette kamer van alles voorzien, goed bed en fijn om een klein keukentje tot beschikking te hebben met een koelkast, vers drinkwater en koffie en thee met wat lekkers erbij. Super! De douche is fijn ruim, maar de douchekop zou ik vervangen voor een grotere... als krullenbol veel fijner 😄 en een deur zodat de warmte er lekker un blijft.

• Matthew (9/5): Spacious, comfortable but poor soundproofing. - A warm welcome by the host, we really appreciated the hospitality. The room was absolutely stunning, clean, with a thoughtful, spacious and well curated decor/ layout. The beds were very comfortable, on a firm side which we like. The location was great, just a 10 min walk from the centre. The room we stayed in was the one facing the main road. This is not a room for a light sleeper as the road outside has a lot of traffic so falling asleep and staying asleep was impossible on our first night. My husband and I had to purchase ear plugs as it was impossible to fall asleep from all the traffic noise. This was our only concern.

• Katharina (10/5): Super! - Die Unterkunft ist eine 12/10, wir kommen gerne wieder! Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und das Herz der Unterkunft: Nach der Ankunft hat er sich mit uns zusammengesetzt und auf einer Karte die Top-Spots in Ghent markiert, solche lokalen Tipps wissen wir immer sehr zu schätzen :-). Am Sonntag hat er uns einfach Schokobrötchen mitgebracht. Die Unterkunft war liebevoll eingerichtet mit viel Blick zum Detail. Unser Zimmer sah in der Realität noch besser aus, als auf den Fotos. Bett war komfortabel und sehr groß mit einer großen Bettdecke. Die Dusche war riesig und begehbar. Generell war die gesamte Unterkunft modern und sauber. Große und gesicherte Parkplätze direkt an der Unterkunft. In weniger als zehn Minuten Laufweg ist man in der Innenstadt von Ghent. Danke für den besonderen Aufenthalt, wir haben es geliebt! :-) /

• Melissa (9/5): I stayed in a bright, cheery, spacious room with a beautiful terrace in a lovely location! - The lighting of the apartment also gave the room a really cheerful and airy feel that was further elevated by how clean the room was. The terrace that was part of my room was super lovely, and I also really loved the big green plant in the room! It was also a super safe location so it's great for female solo travelers like myself! The breakfast offerings were a bit less than expected. While I did love having the Nespresso-style machine in my room, I had expected at least one simple protein-based option in the communal kitchen (like yogurt) based on the information given on the listing -- I have some blood sugar issues so I can't just have fruits and pastries for breakfast (i.e., what seemed like the main offerings in the communal kitchen).

The kitchen was of a really good standard and generously stocked. It was easy to find our way around Ghent from Violet Suites. Our bedroom did not have a window, so lack of fresh air was a bit of a problem.

Upgraded but not sure what we got for the extra paid. There was a small terrace but did not use.

Shared Kitchen area with fruits and drinks. The ensuite bathroom area is nice and clean, but built inside the room (wooden structure) so a bit noisy (opening and closing the toilet door) for your ‘roommate’ if you have to get up at night.

• Beatrix (10/5): Ghent stay in good location. - Located in Ghent this stay provided a good starting point to explore the city. The room was large and a common area had a fridge, snacks, and table and chairs seating. Fruit and snacks were a welcome addition. Coffee maker was available in our room and in the common area. Parking g was available for a cost. Keeping in touch with our host we were met on the street at our late arrival and walked to our parking area. This was especially helpful as the streets are a bit confusing. We did drive around the block a couple of times trying to locate Violet Suites. Street parking was difficult to find as we searched. If we did not have data on our phone we would have struggled to connect with the host as the suites are on an upper floor.

No podemos valorar al personal porque cuando llegamos a la tarde/ noche no habia nadie en recepción . Pero nos mantuvieron informados de como acceder, la cual te dan unas claves y no hubo ningún problema Lugar muy tranquilo y a diez minutos andando del centro y de paradas de autobuses y tranvia. A 15 minutos andando de la estación de tren Damport Lo recomiendo y volveriamos sin lugar a dudas.

• Lisa (9/5): Modern designer accommodation - Friendly welcome from Herman. Our suite Violet 3 was modern and clean. Loved the design. Communal kitchen had fridge, tea and coffee facilities and snacks. Ten mins walk to the beautiful centre of Ghent. Nice coffee shop called catberry nearby .

• Markus (9/5): Schöne Unterkunft in Laufnähe zum Zentrum. - Das Zimmer war schön hell und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Es gab genug Sitz- und Ablagegelegenheiten. Zu unserem Raum (Violet Suites II) gab es auch eine kleine Terrasse - zwar ohne Aussicht - zum Frühstücken und abends draußen sitzen aber toll. Schön war auch die Klimaanlage. Zu den Hauptsehenswürdigkeiten sind es 15-20 Minuten zu Fuß. Auf Anfrage bekommt man einen Stellplatz an der Unterkunft für das Fahrzeug für 15€ pro Tag. Nichts

La falta de espacio que rodea la cama grande y que al ser en dos pisos y no tener barandilla te podías caer al piso de abajo encima de la cama pequeña. Las escaleras de subida a la habitación son empinadas y muy estrechas. Éramos tres y solo dos había dos juegos de toallas.

• Julie (8/5): Good base for short stay in Gent - Good location to access centre of town but quiet area. Owner provided helpful suggestions regarding restaurants/things to see. Rooms were very dimply furnished but large and our room had access to a small courtyard. Bed was large and comfortable and there was access to a shared kitchen I couldn’t get the cooktop to work so a few basic instructions would have been helpful for it and oven - thought I am sure there was probably a manual if I’d looked. Pastries were provided for breakfast one day but not the next
• Peter (5/5): The accommodation is well thought out and comfortable, in the main, but breakfast lacking! - Although advertised as a bed and breakfast the latest web site says there is no meal plan - although tea, coffee, filtered water and a pre-wrapped small waffle and fruit is available! Although this would not constitute as an adequate 'breakfast' in the UK! It is also confusing and misleading to say there are kitchen appliances at your disposal when the hosts don't want you to cook or bring back takeaways! Indeed, there isn't even a bread knife! For this reason neither can it been deemed to be an Airbnb! As pleasant as the hosts are, I think they need to be clearer to their clients what kind of accommodation they are offering. The location was a good 15 minutes walk into the centre of Ghent, where the better eating places were. We stayed in a lovely large room - with terrace- however, suggest that the extremely large cheese plant be cut back somewhat as is taking up space where the hanging rail and shelving for clothes are! Think there could be been more information on local bakers, good nearby eateries etc. As we were staying for 5 nights, would have liked it if our bins had been emptied and handwash etc. topped up as very low on arrival!

The apartment was clean and had everything we needed during our short city break. The location was great, close to the city centre and public transport. • Eyre (10/5): Such a lovely cosy nest of a room I needed 🪺 - Very well designed and maintained room. The maisonette bed setup was a nice touch. I also loved the kitchen which had everything. The frites place on the same street was nice and the owner was very helpful (NB: cash only!) Nothing. There’s no negative. Easily walkable to Central Ghent.

• J4joey (8/5): Very good - Violet Suites are a little quirky and we loved it. Els was really lovely and extremely accommodating. We arrived a bit early and even though she wasn't quite ready she accommodated is and made us at home. The breakfast was really good - eggs, bread, yoghurt, cereals, cheese, meat juice, coffee, tea and on our last morning croissants. The location was also great, easy access to the city and stations (Dampoort) and tram. Ghent is a foodies paradise. Would definitely recommend.
