Guest Reviews
- Margarete (10/5): -
- Johnston (8/5): We had a lovely stay. The room was perfect for us and the view and garden were amazing - The breakfast was wonderful and had a lovely kitchen and patio.
- Corinna (10/5): - Staff was extremely helpful
- Alexander (10/5): -
- E. (6/5): - - Nice garden and overall appearance with a view
- Friendly personnel
- Breakfast ok
- Laundry service
- Stabil WiFi - Lots of dead insects all over the room
- Quite steep road, a bit complicated to find via taxi
- What disturbed us most is the fact that the management tries to make money out of the currency rate and applies the "dolar parallelo" to calculate payments in Bolivianos, which is a daily changing black market rate!. If you ask Google this is ILLEGAL!!! The booking.com conditions say "accepts payment in USD". It does NOT state , that you have to bring cash! If you have not enogh cash, they argue their credit card machine can only operate Bolivianos, but then they apply a rate which is around +25% of the agreed price. This is SHADY management practice!!!
- Francesca (9/5): -
- Helga (8/5): Very good -
- Lucy (10/5): Absolute gem! - Great location, amazing views, super friendly staff! There was no one coming into our room after we had checked out and the owner said we could use the room until our bus, very generous! Nothing, loved it all.
- Toby (9/5): Superb -
- Peta (10/5): Great place to stay - Really enjoyed staying in the cottage in a beautiful garden; great view of Sucre from a terrace and where breakfast was served. Also a good location to walk to many places.
Hosts/managers were friendly and helpful, serving excellent breakfasts and suggesting nearby places to eat.
- Annette (9/5): Superb -
- Faig (10/5): Amazing place to stay! - Great private bungalow,
Very clean and comfortable
Private garden
Has a great city view Amazing place to stay ,
Very private and comfortable.
Great breakfast
- Sofia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claudio (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful garden and everything made with love. Bungalows are clean and very cute.
- Robert (9/5): Very relaxed, comfortable, stay near the centre of Sucre. - Ideal place to stay for any visit to Sucre - the most comfortable and relaxed place we have stayed in South America!
The breakfast was nice, fruit & eggs, and was a great bonus to start off any day exploring Sucre! The little cottage we stayed in was fantastic and had a very comfortable, homely, bed.
We arrived very early in the morning (around 6AM) and were glad to find that check-in at this time was no problem. Nothing - was a fantastic stay from start to finish.
- Felix (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martin (8/5): Very good - Beautiful garden, quiet room. Everything worked.
Very helpful staff who permitted a late check-out when I needed it.
Nice breakfast I think it would work well as somewhere for a longer stay, where you could mix relaxing in the gardens with whatever other activities you were doing in the city. For a late-arrival for a one-night stay, it was a bit off-putting to be lead such a long way down indifferently-lit garden paths to find the room
- Lucy (10/5): Beautiful retreat in a relaxing garden - We had our own little cottage in a beautiful garden with use of the kitchen and lounge too. The owners were really kind and helpful with whatever we needed and we felt very at home. Beautiful view of Sucre and a nice calm retreat after walking in town. Nothing!
- Fiona (9/5): Quirky rooms with a stunning view over Sucre - We loved the views and the facility to use the the kitchen and dining area where we played board games. Would have preferred duvets rather than blankets.
- Chrissy (10/5): Exceptional - marvelous little oasis - we could have stayed another week just at the place, reading and relaxing. It's not far from the center, an easy walk, on a hill, with a view, in a garden, with shade and flowers, hummingbirds, tranquility. There is also a lovely large community room with a fully equipped kitchen and sofas. The rooms are mini-cabins with ensuite bathrooms, minimalist and stylish, made with great love to detail. The hosts are a young couple, very chill and kind. I'd go back there in a heartbeat.
- John (8/5): Very good - Close to centre- very attentive staff
- David (9/5): Beautiful views at a great price - Good location, 10 minutes walk from the main square, with a slight hill up to it as in other reviews (but with a beautiful view as a result). Simple but tasty breakfast (coffee, juice, fruit bowl, bread with butter/jam +/- eggs on request). Very nice owners who were very helpful and accommodating. Able to leave our bags in the salon until our overnight bus. Excellent value for money Wifi signal intermittent/poor (which may just have been in our room)
- Andrea (9/5): Beautiful view of a beautiful city. Highly recommend! - This place is a total gem! The view over the city is beautiful and we really enjoyed relaxing in the garden with our coffee in the morning. The breakfast was delicious (homemade bread and jam with fruit and the option of eggs), rooms were clean and comfortable, and overall it’s amazing value for money! Literally nothing, we would stay here again in a heartbeat. The only thing to be aware of (especially for people with mobility issues) is that it is a good hike up and down into the city center- it’s only about a 10 minute walk but it’s fairly steep on the way back up.
- John (9/5): Great place to stay for a Sucre visit. - We felt the little cabins were lovely, cozy, clean, comfortable bed, good wifi and hot water in the shower and in the sink. The young couple hosting were great, hard workers, always a smile…. We liked everything about the place. About a 10 min walk to the main square, finishing with an uphill climb back to the hostel, something to keep in mind.
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Svenja (10/5): It was a pleasure to be here! - La Selenita is situated very near the City Center but in a calm surrounding. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful, the garden is like an oasis in the City with a fantastisch view on Sucre, the breakfast is fresh and very good.
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms were lovely with a beautiful sunny garden! Soledad and Camille who ran the property were very kind and helpful and provided a delicious breakfast each morning. Would highly recommend staying here!
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Kathleen (9/5): Superb - Young couple running the accommodation were very positive and helpful. Common areas very clean and access to kitchen and fridge to store & prepare food.
- Nia (10/5): Cosy and friendly oasis near Sucre centre - A lovely oasis near the centre of Sucre. hosted by a very welcoming and helpful couple, who went out of their way to make guests comfortable- even making their homemade bread for breakfast especially vegan for me. simple but yummy breakfast each morning and cosy and clean rooms and common areas. A great place to stay in Sucre! nothing
- Lana (10/5): Highly recommended stay in Sucre! - I can't recommend La Selenita highly enough. It's like a little paradise/oasis with gorgeous gardens and beautiful views, tucked away on a quiet street, just a short walk from the city center. The couple running the property were very kind, friendly, and helpful. The room I had was very clean and comfortable. The included breakfast was appreciated. This has been my favorite accommodation in Bolivia and one of my favorites in South America. Adding an option of eggs for breakfast (even if left with butter/oil for guests to cook themselves) would be lovely. :)
