• Anita (10/5): A lovely, characterful property with a very friendly host. Highly recommended. - This is a lovely property, with a very friendly, hospitable owner. The setting is rural, with animals on the property, yet is only a stone's throw from the main roads. It is well located for access to Ghent - we used the Park and Ride there. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very well appointed. The main lounge and dining room area has real character and is a lovely place to sit and relax with a drink from the extremely well-stocked honesty bar. We also enjoyed a very good breakfast here. We really could not have improved upon this property. It has been refurbished fairly recently and is well looked after.

• Andreas (10/5): - Schon bei der Ankunft haben wir uns sofort wohlgefühlt. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und strahlt eine warme, einladende Atmosphäre aus. Unsere Zimmer waren sehr komfortabel und die Betten außergewöhnlich bequem – wir haben wirklich hervorragend geschlafen. In unseren Räumen hatte man die Wahl zwischen Regendusche und Whirlpool, beides hat für Entspannung gesorgt. Das Frühstück war ein echtes Highlight: reichhaltig, frisch und mit viel Sorgfalt zubereitet. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir den Gastgeber Andy, der unglaublich aufmerksam war. Er hat uns auf Wunsch frische Eierspeisen zubereitet, das Buffet stets liebevoll aufgefüllt und uns immer wieder mit frischem Orangensaft und Kaffee versorgt. Dieser persönliche Service hat unseren Aufenthalt wirklich besonders gemacht. Man merkt in jedem Detail, dass hier mit Herz gearbeitet wird. Sehr angenehm war auch, dass die Unterkunft nicht weit weg vom Bahnhof gelegen war, um à la Park&Ride mit der Bahn in die nächsten Städte wie das charmante Brügge oder das architektonisch bezaubernde Gent zu kommen. Insgesamt vielen Dank für die tolle Zeit – wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

• Bea (10/5): Szeretnék vissza térni.Mindenkinek ajánlom aki arra utazik. - A házigazda egy csupa szív, aranyos, gondos idős úr. Minden részletre odafigyelt, késő éjszaka érkeztünk,mégis várt bennünket. Leírhatatlan milyen kellemes hely,a tisztaság, a nyugalom és szépség ami ott van. Minden úgy van ahogyan a fényképeken, sőt talán annál is több. Annyira tökéletes, hogy elterveztük visszamegyünk arra a vidékre és remélem tudunk ott szállást foglalni. Fantasztikus volt ez a szállás, az ágyból nem akartam kiszállni annyira kényelmes volt, csak jót tudok írni. Szívesen élnék ott abban a házban és környéken. Ráadásul a környék is nagyon tiszta, hangulatos. Nem tudok olyat írni.

• Peter (10/5): - Perfekter Ausgangspunkt für die Besichtigug der umliegenden Städte. Nach den Besichtigungen ein ruhiger Ort zum Entspannen und ruhigem Schlaf. Liebenswürdige Betreuung durch die Wirtsleute. Es werden keine Mühen gescheut, um auch sehr spezielle Wünsche der Gäste zu erfüllen.

Parking gratis dentro del mismo establecimiento y fácil acceso desde la autopista Escalera para poder acceder a la habitación quizá demasiado empinada para lo que estamos acostumbrados en España o que me estoy haciendo mayor.

Gut eingerichtetes Bad. Alles sehr sauber. Das Frühstücksbuffet hat alles, was es braucht. Man wird persönlich und sehr freundlich bedient. Alles wird stetig nachgefüllt. Ideal, wenn man Ferien auf dem Land verbringen oder die naheliegenden Städte Gent und Brugge besuchen möchte. Alles war gut, einzig eine Aufhängung für die Duschbrause wäre hilfreich.

• Daniela (9/5): Amazing location, comfortable, great host. - Perfect location for those visiting Bruges, Ghent and Antwerp by car (my case) as the property is near the main road. Andy is a great host, kind and helpful. I had a problem with the room I reserved due to a specific request that wasn't possible to comply with in the first night, but Andy resolved everything for us the next day. The property is in a beautiful location, rural and quite. The animals around give a special environment. Breakfast was delicious. Everything was clean and very comfortable, with plenty ammenities. Great place to stay. Nothing, everything was great.

• Alina M. (10/5): A wonderful quiet place to stay between Ghent and Bruges - I've really enjoyed my stay at Apollonia. Andy is a very kind and welcoming host. The location is great for visiting both Ghent and Bruges. The house is very nice and quiet and is beautifully decorated. They have chickens, peacocks, goats and deer that are so cute. An omelette for breakfast made with their own eggs was delicious. The room was very clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again!

Perfect location to travel to either Ghent or Bruges w - A charming property with very interesting decor and artefacts. The host was very welcoming and friendly and gave great recommendations for a local restaurant where we enjoyed a lovely meal. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and freshly cooked eggs however you liked them. The property is located between Ghent and Bruges and there is a station nearby to allow access to these cities without needing to take the car. There is plenty of free parking at the property. Nothing, it was all good.

• Pamela (10/5): Perfect. I can’t say enough about Apollonia. Stay here!! - What a beautiful place to stay! Lovely pastoral setting tucked away in the Aalter countryside. Bonus that Andy has goats, deer, and chickens and even peacocks to greet you! Apollonia is a beautiful home with all the amenities you could possibly want, including the most amazing jet tub in the upstairs bathroom. Andy went out of his way to make sure all of our needs were met, including helping us place a pizza delivery order! Breakfast is an optional add-on, but I wouldn’t pass up this opportunity! Andy gets fresh local daily pastries and has eggs fresh from his hens. It is well worth the 15 euros he charges. I loved our stay at Apollonia and will look forward to another stay in the future. Thank you, Andy, for making our stay fabulous. Say hello to Bono from the De Craene family! There was nothing that we didn’t absolutely love!

We arrived earlier than planned but our room was made up and was able to check in pretty much immediately. Rooms were large and spacious as was the bathroom. Bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Nice little touches like the honesty fridge in the lounge was very much appreciated. Short walk into town with numerous restaurants and bars. Would recommend.

We were given the family room, which was really spacious, with 2 rooms two showers & loos and a bath in the bathroom which was in between the bedrooms. A very accommodating host. We didn’t have the breakfast but it looked delicious. The spacious communal areas were beautiful and throughout it was spotless.

The room was big and had one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in - fabulous. You could hear some road noise but it wasn’t too bad. Breakfast was ok. Plenty of choice and I had an omelette with eggs from the small holding. The towels definitely need replacing.

• Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - The B&B is ideally located outside of town and less than a kilometer from the highway, halfway between Ghent and Bruges, and only 30 minutes from the Belgian coast. Our host was very congenial and accomodating. Our room provided ample space, including a terrace.

• Nathy (3/5): Trust issues and obvious lack of comfort - The terraces bathed with sun on the morning The owner literally lied to us. I asked via a specific email for a king bed, specifying I would not take the room with two single beds, he joined both beds and told us face to face it was a king bed despite the hole between beds we've been suffering from all night... The room was also extremely loudly, with the feeling that everyone from the entrance/ main room was literally in your room, from the drink they had in the main room to the morning breakfast and radio resonating early.

• Eeckhout (9/5): Clean and great location - The place is spotless, this is one of the cleanest rooms I've ever booked (and I've been to much more expensive places than this one). The bed was comfortable and the room is quite spacious. We also got to feed the deers that were a little shy at first but warm up real quick when you've got food in your hand haha. Location is really good if you want to go to Bruges or Ghent (same distance more or less for both so we did a double city trip :) ) The only thing that you should watch out for is if you're a light sleeper that in the morning you might hear the other guests if you sleep in as breakfast is being served. Nothing a pair of ear plugs can't fix :)

• Christian (10/5): wonderful hosting, in a truly beautiful location - Clean and spacious, well appointed and only 20 mins from Bruges, I would highly recommend the stop off especially for cyclists and other keen outdoors people. Our lovely host couldn’t have been more accommodating. We also would recommend going to one of the local restaurants such as Biezemhof as we did got a great night out and laughs with the locals!
