Guest Reviews
- Hilton (10/5): Stayed 2 nights super hosts who couldn’t do enough to enhance our stay. On a quiet street short walk to everything. High - In a central and quiet location Nothing
- Nichola (10/5): Fabulous, would recommend to anyone. - Fabulous location, close to all sights. Set on a quiet road, beautifully decorated. Lovely hosts and amazing breakfast. We were well looked after and nothing was too much trouble.
- Charles (8/5): Stylish and central but within the bedroom lack of privacy. - Great location, very quiet but only few minutes from the centre. Very stylish. The open plan bedroom was not expected.
- Vasco (10/5): Excelente quarto no centro de Bruges. Ambiente e conforto acima da média - Localização, decoração, conforto
- Fraser (10/5): Wonderful experience. We’ll be back! - Beautifully clean, modern, great hosts
- filipe (9/5): -
Fijne bedden. Het heerlijke ontbijt. We hebben er van genoten ! Niets.
- Marco (10/5): -
- Louise (10/5): Perfect - Loved the decor beautifully decorated with lots of extra little touches in the room, chocolates little jar of sweets, bath salts lovely toiletries. Gorgeous room with coffee machine, again extra touches biscuits and chocolates games and books and somewhere to chill out. Close to the main square in a quiet street. Absolutely nothing
- Andy (9/5): Very highly recommended (but check you're ok with the stairs). - I’d highly recommend Amato-Brugge. Room 1 on the top floors was split between the bathroom area (lower) and the bedroom (upper floor). The rooms were beautiful and very comfortable. A superb view of the Belfry from the bedroom window, and you can get to the main square in a couple of minutes. Very close to lots of restaurants and bars, but on a very quiet cul-de-sac. The host was great and very welcoming. If you have any difficulties with mobility, you may find the stairs a challenge. To get to the bedroom we had (room 1) there were five flights of steep, narrow stairs. Perfectly understandable, given the historical nature of the building, but this really should be more clearly explained in the Booking.com entry.
- Benet (10/5): -
- Nour (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Quiet oasis in the heart of old town Bruges. - Kristof and Stijn were fantastic hosts, and have done a fabulous job totally remodeling the property that is well over 100 years old. The location is ideal, but the best part is no noise. Very quiet for sleeping, and convenient to all that Bruges has to offer. Nothing
- Joost (9/5): -
- Hilbert (10/5): Prachtige locatie, gastvrij en vriendelijk. - Prachtige b&b. Warm ontvangst, hele prettige gastheren. Ontbijt was super geregeld. Dat het weekend te snel voorbij ging
- Michelle (10/5): - Everything! Wonderfully decorated, clean and spacious suite with sauna! Welcoming, helpful and friendly hosts, including the resident dog. Incredibly well located, excellent value for money. Will definitely return. Nothing
- Trudy (10/5): Relaxing beautifully appointed B and B in dreamy Bruges - Amazing location in the heart of beautiful Bruges.
Recently renovated to a high standard with gorgeous interior design. Make your way up the delightfully winding staircase to a view of the bells.
Welcoming, knowledgeable hosts who are happy to assist with restaurant selection!
Just fabulous. There is nothing not to like
- Chris (10/5): -
- Williams (10/5): - We absolutely loved our stay. Perfect location very close to the main square. Stain and Kristof were amazing hosts and would definitely recommend to anyone.
- robert (9/5): -
- Alex (10/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): Perfect, cozy, warm, relaxing - Very clean and tidy. Really well put together room. Loved the spa bath. Bath salts and chocolates on arrival was a very nice touch. The perfect location. I loved how quiet the road was. Balcony with the perfect view for the church and its bells ringing. Would definitely stay again. Only thing id comment on is the privacy of the toilet situation, you want something to try and hide the noises.
- Matthew (10/5): - Beautiful B&B in the heart of Brugges.
- Emma (10/5): A beautiful unique hite - The location is perfect for a city stay, so close to the centre but away from main streets. The house and room is beautifully designed and presented and a delicious, Belgium inspired breakfast. Nothing.
- Paulien (10/5): -
- Francisco (10/5): Highly recommended! - Amazing location, clean, comfortable, friendly staff. Highly recommended!
- Christopher (10/5): Amazing ❤️ - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A Perfect Stay at Amato-Brugge!
We recently stayed at this wonderful B&B in the heart of Bruges, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The location couldn’t be better — just a few minutes’ walk from the central square, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and charming.
The B&B itself is the perfect blend of traditional architecture and modern style. From the moment we walked through the front door, it smelled amazing! Our room was beautifully designed, comfortable, and very well equipped — from the super comfy bed and high-quality towels to the added luxury of a sauna. On arrival, we were greeted with thoughtful touches like welcome chocolates, sweets, and bottled water.
There’s a lovely breakfast area with complimentary tea and coffee available all day, and other drinks at very reasonable prices.
Hosts Kristof and Stijn, along with their gorgeous dog Gucci, were absolutely fantastic — warm, welcoming, and always happy to help with recommendations. They even surprised me with a birthday card and a bottle of wine during our stay, which was such a kind and personal gesture.
Because it’s a beautiful old building, there are a few stairs to navigate, so it might not suit those with limited mobility — but for everyone else, it’s a true gem.
Thank you, Kristof, Stijn, and Gucci, for a wonderful stay. We loved every minute and would definitely return!
- Astrid (8/5): kristof and stijn are lovely and looking well after their guests. it’s been great three days and the bathtub is worth us - it was central and yet in a quiet side road unfortunately a bit poor in soundproofing.

- Bjarney (10/5): -
- Alison (10/5): Great location, very comfortable. Highly recommend -
Niets
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional! - Exceptional! Genuinely one of the best places we’ve ever stayed. The hosts, decoration, facilities, breakfast and location were all outstanding. We would highly recommend this stay and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else in Brugge. There was nothing we didn’t like. No negatives.
- Padraig (10/5): - Gorgeous place, got breakfast each day, really nice local produce, very helpful with advice and recommendations, super weekend Toilet in bedroom 1 was a little unusual
- Tobias (9/5): -
- Michel (10/5): - Confort, emplacement, propreté... tout était parfait
- Metzelaar (9/5): -
- Franziska (10/5): - Super sauber, liebevoll eingerichtet und sehr nette Gastgeber -
- Semanur (8/5): Schoon en mooi - Comfort en locatie .
- Suzanne (10/5): Enorm genoten! Fijne en zeer nette B&B op en top tot in de puntjes - De kamers liggen op een top locatie midden in het centrum en toch geen last van geluiden van buiten
- Paul (9/5): Awesome - Location was perfect. Great view of Bell Tower from Belfort Room.
Room was immaculate.
Stijn & Gucci were great hosts. It was fine for us but some people may not appreciate the steep steps.
- Karl (10/5): Cozy room in a great location - The hotel is newly renovated and beautifully done. Modern and clean with an artistic feel, it made for a great stay. The room was comfortable, and nicely air conditioned during a hot spell. The bathroom was modern and beautifully appointed and included a spa!
The hotel is only a 1 block walk to the Markt square with lots of food and drink options. Its a quiet location on a side street, with a beautiful interior design and wonderful hosts Kristof and Stijn. As mentioned by other reviews, there is no elevator and the steps are narrow (as is the case in all the older places) but the hosts are more than happy to assist with luggage.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend this place wholeheartedly. Nothing!
- Mary (10/5): Hosts that go above and beyond! - This place is like staying in a luxury boutique hotel except better. The host are absolutely lovely and super helpful. They haven’t missed any details. The towels smelled wonderfully, breakfast is a must (and so much better than what you can get on your own), and super clean. The host are available if you need anything. They have drinks for purchase that are so convenient and well-priced. There is an awesome coffee machine that makes fancy coffee that is available all day. There were candies and chocolates in the room as a welcome gift. Absolutely wonderful experience! Everything was amazing!
- Sandra (10/5): Timeless and trendy, a beautiful blend of hipster flair and old-fashioned charm, with amazing hosts. - One block walk to the market … quiet location, great AC, great mattress, incredible shower and sauna, beautiful interior design in an older three-level home. Exemplary hosts! The breakfast was a wonderful European breakfast and the host explained each cheese, meat, and seafood. Fresh fruit, musli, breads, and local jams made it superior. Nothing …. It was amazing!!! But anyone with any mobility issues should know the stairs are steep.
- Andrew (10/5): Amazing hotel. Beautiful décor. Very relaxing feel. Comfy bed and lovely room. - Fantastic hotel, with perfect hosts. The whole hotel was lovely, decoration, furniture and layout. The room was very good, layout and decor was very well done. Bed was comfy. Whole place was clean and tidy. A lovely friendly dog. Gucci, occasionally greeted us when we came in. Easy checkin. Location was excellent, short walk to the main areas and restaurants. nothing
- Paul (10/5): Bruges Break. - Amato-Bruge is situated within a minutes walk of the main square. Its location is in a small no through road, so there is no passing traffic. Our room number 1 was on the first floor, it was spacious, clean and tidy and open plan with plenty of places for clothes and a comfortable bed. The hosts were very helpful and informative but not intrusive. There is a small area on the first floor for use by guests with seats and tables, a coffee machine, fridge, and information. Each day during our stay, the hosts left pastries or chocolates. There are plenty of places to eat within walking distance, and the hosts can give recommendations if required. There is a small fridge in the room, and toiletries are provided.
We eat out for breakfast and can recommend Sweet L'Oueff a 2 minute walk. This is almost opposite a restaurant we used in the evening and can also recommend called Brassierie Surplace. They are both popular, and booking is recommended (even for breakfast). As the room is open, plan there is no screening or door for the toilet, so you are on view to the rest of the room, which some people may find disconcerting.
- Eugene (9/5): Modern rooms in an old building - Currently no breakfast being served. There is a dining area with sodas and water in a small refrigerator and hot espressos, lates, and coffees from a machine. Small chocolates were offered in the afternoon. The property is located in a quiet area just a short walk from the market square which is a landmark in central Bruges. Our 2-floor room was clean and excellently decorated and featured a sauna in the bathroom. From the third floor sleeping area was a beautiful view of a tower at the edge of the market square. Our hosts were helpful and friendly and really saved our day when our confirmed taxi to the train did not show up. One of the owners drove us the short distance to the station.
The only negative is that there are no elevators to help move luggage to upper floors. Again the hosts helped us move two larger suitcases upstairs. Also the stairs to the top unit sleeping area have narrow treads that make passage challenging. But such passages are common in the older parts of cities and anyone with mobility problems may want to find a hotel with an elevator or ground floor. Overall, this hotel was a wonderful experience. No elevator.
- Allen (10/5): Amazing location and great accommodating host! Would move here if I could - Close to sights and restaurants but on a quiet alleyway
- Alan (10/5): Great location, lovely clean place - The room was lovely on the top floor - very quiet but so central. The B&B owners bent over backwards to help us - from lending us a phone charger to offering great suggestions for breakfast. Van't recommend highly enough.
- Domiziano (10/5): Amazing location, wonderful stay! - The location was fantastic easily walkable to the center of the city! Very friendly hosts, newly renovated rooms, and comfortable beds. We really enjoyed our stay and wanted to stay longer!
- Nour (10/5): Exceptional - We had an exceptional stay. The breakfast was outstanding.
- Natalie (10/5): Perfect stay and perfect hosts - This property is in a perfect location 2 mins walk from the square, the hosts were so welcoming and friendly and made the stay perfect, it was my husbands birthday and they even left him a little present in the room when we were out. You can help yourself to the coffee machine next door and they left out a sweet treat in the afternoon. The decor and design of the room was 10/10 with a huge double shower and jacuzzi bath. I cannot recommend this place more to stay it’s perfect.
- Christine (10/5): Kristof and Stijn were perfect hosts.they made our stay very comfortable Breakfast every morning was fresh and deliciou - The location was perfect for the places we had in mind to visit. But Kristof and Stijn were also helpful with recommendations. They really know the city. The property was very warm and comfortable. If we needed something, either owner was available to help. There was work going on in the home but that really didn’t hinder our stay. The work will only make the B&B a more desirable property for future guests.
- Hollie (10/5): Fantastic place with excellent location and wonderful hosts. Highly recommend. - Excellent stay at Amato Bruges. Fantastic location, truly wonderful hosts, and a beautiful property. Would highly recommend for your trip to Bruges.
- Miranda (9/5): Cozy room in the heart of Bruges - Amazing location, 2 min walk from the center, and stunning view from the room. The hosts were really nice and offered breakfast and a bottle of cava for New Year’s. Definitely recommend!
- Courtney (9/5): Superb - Neat house with wonderful hosts. Nice room with a great view. The chocolate and champagne for new years were nice details!
- Ana (10/5): Amazing - More than just guests, they made us feel like family. The note on a very special day for us revealed the attention and care shown to make our stay truly special.
TKS Rien
- Dale (10/5): Fantastic location, very clean and lovely rooms and the hosts were so lovely and helpful. Highly recommend this place - It was in a great location. Close to the markets, restaurants and shops.
- Kyle (10/5): Excellent - Central location couldn’t have been more perfect with large and spacious room with view of the bell tower.
- Leahy (10/5): The gem of Brugge - Amato-Brugge was an unexpected gem. a cozy, peaceful, warm and inviting place right in the heart of the old centre of Brugge. Kristof and Stijn and their gorgeous dog Gucci are the most wonderful hosts, going above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Spotlessly clean and with an amazing view of the Belfry I highly recommend treating yourself to a stay here.
- Peter (10/5): Awesome experience! - Stijn was a wonderful host
- Lindsey (10/5): Our stay at Amato-Bruges was wonderful! - Our stay at Amato-Bruges was wonderful! Our room was immaculately clean and very comfortable with a beautiful view of the rooftops and bell tower. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Amato-Bruges is located in a quiet side road with very easy access to the main streets. Most of all, Kristof and Stijn were amazing hosts! They were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend Amato-Bruges.
- Farzad (9/5): Fantastic Stay - Location was excellent just 1min walk from center. Bed was big and comfortable. Very good shower and bath. And very friendly and nice host. Toilet seat was a little bit high for me even tho I am 1.79cm
- Lisa (10/5): Fantastic stay would love to go back. - Amato is so central, we were right outside the Markt, so close to food, shops, sights, but also slightly off the main road so it was quiet and felt separate from the bustle. Its easy to find and short walk from the train station. The room was lovely! Beautifully decorated, everything was clean, warm, and comfortable. We had the double room with the armchairs so lots of space to relax and feel at home. There were even chocolates on arrival and treats left in the common/dining room in the afternoon. Good coffee and an honesty fridge with nice drinks although we didn’t use. Kristof was really friendly and accommodating, giving us good tips on where to go and eat. We loved meeting Gucci too! Nothing!
- Eva (10/5): A fabulous B&B in central Bruges - A lovely bed and breakfast, in the centre of Bruges but spacious and quiet. We stayed in the Belfort Room which had a fantastic view. Fabulous hosts Kristof and Stijn arranged breakfast at short notice which was amazing. Tea and Coffee provided with cake in the afternoon. Would highly recommend.
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property and hosts, only a few minutes walk into town
- Brian (10/5): wonderful stay! - Great location, beautiful and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, gracious and accommodating hosts.
- Ellen (10/5): Lovely stay and hope to stay there again! - Loved everything about the property, especially Stijn and Kristof! N/A
- Peter (9/5): Great location, lovely house, fabulous breakfast - Absolutely superb location, literally walk out the door and you are in the centre of the old city in less than a minute, yet in a quiet street! The rooms are already nice but about to be refurbished, and for sure will be very stylish judging by the refurbishment of the breakfast room. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast which is extra but well worth it, is excellent. There is really not much not to like about this little gem, we liked everything!
- Simon (10/5): Wonderful! - Our first trip to Bruges couldn't have been more wonderful thanks to a beautiful city plus this amazing B&B. There is so much to like and appreicate about it - the wonderful friendly and helpful hosting, the care given to creating a fantastic vegan breakfast, the welcome, the elegant and oh so comfortable room, the courtesy coffee and tea, the fabulous location right near the main square and close enough to pop back to drop bits off or have a quick rest. And Gucci, the dog, was definitely an added bonus.
We can't wait to go back. Nothing
- Ellen (10/5): I would definitely stay here again. - The lodgings were beautiful and comfortable, while retaining the charm of the old world ambience. The hosts went out of their way to help me and provide me with whatever I needed. The location was great - just one block from the famous Brugge center and clock tower.
- Angela (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyed it! Perfect hosts - Hosts were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. House was beautiful, centrally located and they thought of everything, beautiful toiletries and afternoon snacks Some slight improvements, Aircon, guest handbook, full size pillows
- James (10/5): A fantastic hotel and location with wonderful hosts. - Absolutely fantastic property, Stijn and Kristof were wonderful hosts. Room was very comfortable, and there was coffee and a treat whenever we wanted it. I was so impressed with the level of service from the hosts. The room was beautiful, quiet and clean. The location was perfect also, very close to the sights. I would highly recommend this property.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Gökçe (10/5): Perfect place - The location of the hotel was in the middle of the city so we could have come and gone during the day, when we felt tired. The room was also so clean ☺️And special thanks to Stijn and Kristof for their kind hosting!
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samuel (10/5): Great stay, highly recommend! - Very nice lodging in the center of Bruges. While it's quite central, it's also on a quiet street, which is obviously a great combination. The hosts, Staijn and Kristof are extremely friendly and generous.
We had the attic room which got a bit stuffy and warm but it was overall pretty comfortable. There's a fridge which has soft drinks, beer, etc... and an espresso machine. The breakfast they offerered was really nice, good croissants, cheeses, and meats, along with fresh squeezed orange juice.
Very good value. Highly recommend! The attic room got a bit stuffy and warm and when we opened the windows we invited bugs into the room. But we also happened to be there for some unusually warm days, so probably not usually an issue.
- Lee (9/5): Superb -
- Jon (10/5): See above - Everything was wonderful - many thanks. And a fantastic location - couldn't be better Nothing - all was great.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Home baking was a lovely touch.
- Mike (10/5): Lovely apartment in the heart of Bruges - Very friendly and helpful hosts, beautiful rooms, and a very comfortable bed. All this right in the middle of town, perfect! Nothing, it was lovely.
- Dmytro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dominic (10/5): Beautiful accommodation in the heart of Bruges. - Lovingly furnished accommodation with a view of Belfort. The hosts are very warm and courteous. Very good price-performance ratio.
- Philippa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danny (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly hosts. Great location, nice and quiet but just a few steps away from the centre of Brugge. Large comfortable bed, fantastic breakfast and the cutest dog. So pleased we booked, we will definitely be returning.
- Alexandre (10/5): Best experience in Bruges!!! - Amazing experience!!! B&B super comfortable, best location, super clean and well decorated!!
Hosts were very friendly and helpfull. Highly recommend!!! Nothing
- Temple (8/5): Great location and extremely friendly hosts. - Location was excellent - quiet and peaceful and yet at the hub of the beautiful city. The hosts were charming and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was really good. There was no breakfast even though the title of the property included B&B. The room needed a chest of drawers to house our clothes. The doors and keys were very stiff.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional stay, amazing host & perfect location! - We loved our stay and our host Stijin went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed! He even drove us to the train station at 4:30AM to catch out 5AM train!! The room was very aesthetic and absolutely beautiful! There were chocolates waiting for us and plenty more in the kitchen right next to the complimentary espresso machine! The location was PERFECT! close to everything but far enough away from the busy tourist spots. The view from the balcony was breath taking! Can't say enough about the wonderful host, the beautiful room and the perfect locations 100/10! nothing!
- Jessica (10/5): Like a fairytale. - Wonderful hotel, room, and service - in the perfect location to explore Bruges. Nothing.
- Özge (9/5): Superb -
- Hayk (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place, and the host is very helpful and welcoming. The location is great, in the center with walking distance to all main spots but still quiet and private.
- Mandy (10/5): Perfect start to Xmas - The location was perfect , a min walk away from the high street. Myself and my daughter had the perfect stay and will definitely be back. The house was everything we expected and more, absolute beautiful.Julie the host was so so lovely and super helpful, she gave us recommendations for breakfast (if your going you must visit “that’s toast” it was amazing! What a perfect trip thank you Julie xx There’s was nothing to dislike
- Mihail (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (8/5): Charming centrally located characterful B&B - This is a charming B and B in a very central location but a very quiet street - just off a main street and one minute away from all the shops, major attractions and eateries - but with no footfall or through traffic. We booked two rooms, one for a couple (us) and another for our grown up son. Really lovely views of the street and cathedral. The owner does not reside at the property but excellent communications with her. She even booked us a taxi to get us to the station and allowed us to keep our bags downstairs after we had checked out. We had a double room and a set of rooms upstairs (duplex arrangement) with the bedroom in the attic and bathroom below.
The rooms were extremely clean, the beds wonderfully comfortable. Very pretty place.
I'd definitely stay here again. Warning for anyone with mobility or balance issues - all the stairs are very steep and narrow as is common with these old Bruges townhouses. It is a pity that there is no breakfast or breakfast materials provided (I think they used to do this) as there is a dining room downstairs. But there are materials for tea and coffee making.
Also (it may be a one-off) but on both nights my son and I were woken around 2.30am by what is possibly a neighbouring house with the TV suddenly turned up very very loud- you could hear it through the wall and outside in the street too. Not a party or social thing. Overall the area is incredibly quiet.
- Dan (9/5): Bruges ideal location, perfect - Location was absolutely perfect! Have been to Bruges lots of times and this is the best location and value for money by far! Plus could park close to the property. Access to a fridge would of been handy but it was cold outside so left some milk on the window ledge,
- Ella (7/5): Good - Beautiful building in a fantastic location. The room was nicely decorated. This isn't really the fault of the hotel it's just something to note,. We stayed in summer when the weather was so hot and our room was in the eves and it was unbearably hot at night even with the windows open and then we were eaten alive by mosquitoes
- Vlad (8/5): Excellent location, but missing breakfast - Amazing central location, very responsive host, cool vibe of of the place There's no on-site parking, so an underground parking garage must be used instead. Even though there are plenty of places to eat nearby, we felt that breakfast was missing for the relatively high price of the stay.
- Laura (10/5): Comfortable stay in perfect location - We had a beautiful and well-appointed room, with a lovely modern bath, all in a charming classic Bruges building. The bed was extremely comfortable. Most wonderful was the location and the view. The home sits on a quiet side street, just a couple of short blocks away from the square. From our window, we had s perfect view of the belfort tower and could regularly hear the chimes. Julie was a warm and helpful host, who was flexibly available and gave us several excellent restaurant recommendations. The staircases are a bit steep, but still part of the charm. We couldn’t recommend any higher!
