Guest Reviews
- zelchan (10/5): Excellent! Bonus with the food and the thai tea on the 1st floor. - the stay is officially my favourite of trips to Bangkok all time. the room is so clean, with big windows, private view and convenient location. comfortable enough to both staying in or walking out. the air con is dripping water a bit but I don't mind. the 1st floor is a cafe with excellent drinks and food but saving on air con so sometimes feel a bit hot.
- Olena (10/5): - Cleaning and receptuin woman
- Mark (9/5): - No matter what happens anywhere else, I always look forward to staying in Baan Wualamphong. Nowadays it's becoming harder to find decent but affordable accommodation in downtown Bangkok. With that in mind, the single room offers more than enough space, and for one person still represents reasonable value for money, with a decent standard of furnishings.
The room is quiet and has a view, the air conditioning works beautifully and the bed is comfortable. The guest house is affiliated with the nearby 511Cafe, which is the best eatery in the vicinity (150m away). The dishes are good, and if preferred, a guest can order from the hotel itself and the amiable staff will serve it to you personally. The reception has a bar and can make teas, coffees, soda and fruit drinks, and serve cold beer.
- Alena (8/5): - Lokalita byla cílená kvůli vlakovému nádraží a Chinatown. Brzy ráno kokrhal na dvoře hotelu kohout. To nevymyslíš uprostřed Bangkoku.
- Selahattin (1/5): Place was not fit for accommodation…. - Nothing… Everything….
- Joop (10/5): - Locatie Geen

- Kevin (9/5): - The staff were brilliant, friendly,, happy & helpful
Went above & beyond to help ous Tjere was no lift & as we both have mobility problems & had a room on tje yop fpoor (3rd) it wad a struggle even though the staff carried our bags up
- ANDREA (8/5): If you want to visit Chinatown area it's a great choice. - Room was nice, well located 5 mind walk to Chinatown and Talat Noi.
Very close to Hualampnong station, where you can take the train to Makkasan and then to the airport, avoiding expensive taxis. Even if my room was located on the highest floor, there was a lot of noise coming from the street. It's Bangkok, I know.
Shower wasn't working at it's best.
- Mark (8/5): - *Good sized room (single bed)
*Strong, effective air conditioning
*Strong water pressure
*Quiet (couldn't hear roosters)
*Bed comfortable (not too hard or soft)
*Location - despite the reduction in operating trains from Wualamphong Station,, it is still closed to Chinatown as well as MRT subway.
*The guesthouse is associated with the excellent 511Cafe, and as such the owners/hosts provide breakfast and lunches, beer Thai tea etc. Reception closed at about 5 pm and guests are able to dine at 511.
* Hosts are very welcoming and the staff dedicated
* Relatively affordable for central Bangkok *Stairway access is very steep and tight (no problem for me but easier for those with light bodies and light luggage.
- Maria Dinely (10/5): Forgot my hat in the room - I forgot my hat in the room
Can you save it for me
Please !!🙏
- Erika (9/5): Great value, location and space! - Great space and location! Lovely personalised service. It is true that the AC takes a while to cool down, but you can also open windows, which is a yay for me! I'll stay there again! The bathroom could do with some extra towel hangers and places to put toiletries, as well as shower curtain. Also, better communication with staff.

- Yingjie (7/5): - The staff were very nice and helped adjust the check-in time. The location is great – very close to Siam, Chulalongkorn University, and also near a train station. it’s quite noisy since it’s right by the street. This isn’t the hotel’s fault, but people who are sensitive to noise or have trouble sleeping (avoid booking a street-facing room)
- Benjamard (5/5): - โลเคชั่น ที่ตั้งดี ห้องพักแอร์เย็นไม่ทั่วทั้งห้องคะ เลยทำให้ร้อนและนอนไม่ค่อยหลับ
- TETSURO (10/5): -
- Naomi (7/5): Clean and spacious but hard bed and lack of cold air - Room was spacious, very clean, neat and tidy. The shower/toilet room was spacious and it was a good shower. Staff were friendly and polite. The air con wasn't very powerful, so the room never really got cold enough. The bathroom was boiling! So going in there to the toilet warranted standing in front of the air con or having a cold shower to cool down. The mattress was rock hard! Glad we only had to sleep on ot for 1 night.
- Jirapat (9/5): - ถูกใจสถานที่ตั้ง ติดสถานนีรถไฟ มีร้านสะดวกซื้อใกล้ ๆ ไม่มีลิฟท์
- Wen Hong (9/5): This hotel is far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and is very clean and tidy. It is one of the choices I rec - The proprietress serves every guest staying in the hotel warmly and enthusiastically. None
- Tim (9/5): Superb -

- Ilias (10/5): Great property, great price great location - Great location great property with really comfortable bed and amazing shower facilities Nothing
- Madeleine (8/5): Very good -
- Denise (8/5): Great value for money - We booked this property to be near the train station but it turned out to be a good choice as it’s close to Chinatown and also the stations means you can easily travel from here. Room was clean and a good size and good value . It’s on a big road junction so can be noisy but they provide ear plugs.
- Kay (5/5): Lovely staff but unfortunately not for us due to location, no lift and noise - Friendly and helpful staff - good room service- coffee, water etc No lift and we were on the third floor with suitcases - read the fine print! Also noisy with cockerels from 4am - read the fine print! We booked to be near China town for New Year and it was a short 10 minute walk- but busy roads and vagrants rough sleeping - so not very congenial! Fine for some people perhaps - but unfortunately not for us. Staff really lovely though and good to give money to locals rather than big hotels.
- El (10/5): Exceptional -
- 篤 (6/5): Good location if use early morning train - Nearest hotel from Hua Lamphong station. That’s all. Nothing bad, but nothing good.
- Tinyaberration (9/5): Charming Little Bed and Breakfast - Location is right by the Bangkok Railways station. Every night there's a light show at the station with a big inflatable Moo Deng balloon on top. It's quite a site to see. The hotel is more of a bed and breakfast with a cafe at the ground floor. Staff was very helpful. Helped me with my very heavy suitcase as there is no lift.
Room was very comfortable though the AC unit is a bit slow to cool the room. Good sized room, comfy bed. Great location. Chinatown is walkable. There is a 7-11 nearby and some good local restaurants as well. AC unit took some time to cool the room.
- Frederik (5/5): Passable - There is no breakfaTst, nor other tv channals than Thai and that only when tv works. Bed is very hard.
Staf is nice and helpfull. Well position when you travel early from R.W. Station.
- Rachel (8/5): Cute little boutique hotel. - It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the renovation inside is pretty cool. The room was very sweet. The linen was really comfortable, and the mattress was firm. Plenty of room and tastefully decorated, pretty good value. The shower was a bit janky, and there was no hot water. Also the toilet seat was broken.
- Nathaniel (9/5): Superb -
- Lena_traveller (8/5): Value, good location - Very close to hualampong mrt. The room is a bit hot even though there's aircon.
- Karel (7/5): Good - , lokation was perfect The bathroom was not clean
- Sasha (9/5): Superb -
- Ruvhaan (10/5): Exceptional -
- F (8/5): Very good - Great location for an early train from Hua Lamphong. Handy for easy MRT access too
- Onsafari (1/5): Booking dropped the ball - The issue was NOT the hotel staff...but booking.com not informing me that the hotel was closed for renovations and did not have my reservation at all....it was extremely hot and we had no place to stay...the staff provided water, kindness and a taxi to find a hotel....this is the second time in a row booking.com dropped the ball...you charged my card in advance , so expect a full refund.. The issue was NOT the hotel staff...but booking.com not informing me that the hotel was closed for renovations and did not have my reservation at all....it was extremely hot and we had no place to stay...the staff provided water, kindness and a taxi to find a hotel....this is the second time in a row booking.com dropped the ball...you charged my card in advance , so expect a full refund.
- Charles (9/5): Superb - The room was nice and big... the same with the shower/toilet.
The location is close to the subway station. I would stay here again.
- Patrick (7/5): Fix the water problem ancc do I’d stay again - Close to station and facilities.. one staff member very helpful: Second staff member rude. No water for shower/ toilet. Day one ok: day two after 10 mins still a dribble
- Thomas (8/5): Very good - The big bathroom and the staff, especially the girl at reception (sorry I don't remember the name), she was really nice and smiling :) The roasters close to my window ^^
- Susana (7/5): Good - The hotel is located across the road from the Bangkok Train Station (Hua Lamphong), so it is a good option if you have a train connection, especially during the early hours. It is also close to a 7-Eleven. On the ground floor, there is a small café that serves good breakfast options. The room was not well sound-insulated, therefore you could hear the sounds of the cars passing on the road. During the night, I would sometimes feel the bed shaking when a bigger truck passed on the road. The room was facing the back side of the building, which had some roasters that would start singing around 4 am. Therefore, unfortunately, it is not the best option for a quiet room.
- Architects (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danil (8/5): Very good - Good value for money. Hosts are friendly, we agreed for earlier check out easily. Room had everything you need. The noise of the water pump was irratating, as well as i could here animals in the morning.
- Kevin (7/5): Great budget place if you have a train to catch the next day - Very good budget room right by Hua Lamphong station
Very friendly owner who also owns the 511 cafe opposite the station. My usual moan-not particularly fond of wet shower rooms.
- Jens (8/5): Good stay for a single traveler going by train from Hua Lamphong. - I choose it because it was close to the railway station. It is a small family business and it had that good feel. It is also very close to MRT and Silom is two stops away.
Wifi worked well. I liked it overall. But given its small size with only 6 rooms you will not find all services as in bigger places. Check- in times are quite strict as only one staff clears the room and it is more or less closed between checkout hours and check-in hours.
Be aware also that the stairs up to the rooms are quite steep and may be challenging for elderly or disabled persons.
- Woottichai (9/5): Superb -
- Ramil (10/5): Exceptional - Nothing to dislike
- Samuel (7/5): Good -
- Mark (10/5): Great accommodation - Exceptional hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff All was good
- George (3/5): Poor - The location was convenient The size of the room very small.Stairs to go to room. Communication was very difficult due to no English speaking. The worst was that the shower pressure wasn't enough even to make a decent shower. Needed to cancel that second day and leave. Hopefully they partial refund the second night, I appreciate this.
- Oskari (7/5): Me and my ant friends sharing a good room - It was near metro and train station, staff was nice and the bed was ok. Nothing special, but ok place. I had a fight with ants. They were coming from the bathroom floor and I ate some snacks and they were all over my room.
- Anderson (10/5): I'm so happy I found this place. It's good to go back to a quiet place after roaming in the city. - I like the overall vibe and interior design. The entire premise is very clean and serene. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. They also have a cat that look after the premise at night. The room I got is facing the sun in the afternoon so it gets really hot during that time. The room shakes a little bit (it's safe) and it spooked me while I was watching horror film.
- Guy (3/5): Poor - Close to the MRT. Has a nearby 7/11.
Shower temperature and pressure was good, though there isn't a separation between it and the toilet. We were on the 4th floor and there was no elevator. The 4th floor is extremely hot, we had to leave the AC during our entire stay, and even then it was still a bit hot.
The bed is very stiff, almost feels like sleeping on the floor.
Lots of mosquitos and ants in the building. We left some open snacks in the room and they were covered by ants.
The hotel area is very dodgy. Lots of homeless and drug addicts just outside the hotel. Feels very uncomfortable at night.
Also, there are very noisy chickens next to the hotel that will wake you up at 4-5 AM, and also it is next to the highway so there are noises from the cars.
- กงทองลักษณ์ (9/5): Comfort and easy for travel. - It locate in good location next to mrt station and not far from shops. The room is comfort and have much space. I don't like pillow. It's so hard and not comfort to me.
It's very noicy on night, so I can't sleep as well.
- Judy (9/5): Clean small guest house close to Chinatown. - The bed was comfortable and it was very clean and spacious. The staff was friendly. It’s not a great part of town. We choose it because we thought we could catch a train out of there but they had moved our train to a different station. A bit noisy at night.
- Estelle (9/5): Very nice stay - Clean, nice staff good location A bit noisy. You can buy boules quies to put on you hears at Muji in Bangkok
- Uday (9/5): A quiet, clean place. - Well designed, clean. Quiet location but easily accessible to most places of interest. No lifts, only stairs.
- Christie (7/5): Good -
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Always stay here when in Bangkok.
- Shintaro (10/5): Exceptional - Stuff and people replayed this place were amazing!
- Friedhelm (8/5): Great Hotel near the Station - Nice and clean room with all I needed. Except a chair. Missing a proper chair in the room.
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Like a second home!
- Jenny (9/5): Great location near the train - This place is close to cafes and Hua Lamphong station. The staff are very helpful and you can order food and drinks on the premises as well. I found the top stairs quite shallow and steep but the lovely staff member took my bag up for me.
- Justaperson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colm (6/5): Pleasant - Proximity to train station, staff, room size. The room overlooked a sort of car park beside the main road. Within the car park people were making noise talking and shouting until 3.30am so we did not get much sleep. Latest check in time is 8pm.
- Paige (8/5): Very good -
- Bryce (8/5): Very good - Clean accommodations. Strong wifi. Close to the MRT and restaurants. The staff were friendly and hospitable. The location is a bit noisy since it is located near a highway entrance. There is no elevator in the place and the stairs to the top floor can be a bit brutal, but that is a minor complaint.
- Dennis (10/5): They let me check in early with no extra cost. Very friendly staff and they also have a nice restaurant across the stree -
- Matej (10/5): Exceptional - Nice staff, clean, good location,
- Annabelle (10/5): customer satisfaction guaranteed - everything place and the owner plus staff are great and helpful everything
- Ganesh (6/5): Pleasant - 1) The room was spacious and clean and
2) The staff were very helpful.
3) last day's drop was a very good experience and the staff helped us out of the way. 1) Location is slightly far from the centre.
2) Finding hotel is difficult as there is no sign/name board on the outside of the hotel.
3)Even the cab who dropped us a little far from the hotel location and we had to walk and locate the hotel while checking in.
4) There are no elevators in the hotel. Climbing 4 floors with luggage is a big task.
- Kano (9/5): Superb - Friendly Inn-keeper, good design, bedding and shower as well as location
- Nick (9/5): Superb - Excellent central place, very handy for Chinatown, warm welcome, great service, good breakfast. Attached restaurant over the road. Excellent value for the large size of the room. The mattress bordered on very firm.
- Fukagawa (8/5): Very good - The staff is very kind and nice.
- Sanderehv (8/5): Simple hotel with very friendly staff near century old landmark. - Location just adjacent to Hua Lampong station which can be easily reached by MRT. Noise from the street was too loud and woke me up early. The bed was a little too hard for my taste.
- Ross (7/5): Good -
- J3np (8/5): Very good -
- Douglas (10/5): Great for a night or two! - Very clean and right next to the train station. Hard to find on the street with google maps. I was on the top floor (several floors up) with no elevator.
- Jaxom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (9/5): I need hotel near train station - Very nice design and clean Not clear view from the street, should ask surround peoples
- Thapa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Eva (10/5): excellent - super nice owner and staff.
we stayed there for 2 nights with our dog, the hotel is pet friendly and they really loved our dog.
was such a pleasure to stay there.
beautiful room, clean, air con and big windows!
near Hua lampong train station- was perfect for us.
- Gianfracasso (9/5): kind, discreet and helpful. - A/C and fridge don't work when you take out the card which is attached to the key so when you get back to the room it is very hot.
- Shane (10/5): I'll be back. - The convenience to the railway station, the lovely warm greeting, the gorgeous hot shower, the food in the cafe, the lattes, the family atmosphere, the comfortable spacious room, the soft sheets. It all makes for a very nice stay. I'll definitely come back. Those stairs 😱.
- Shane (9/5): Lovely small hotel - Lovely little hotel, exceptional staff, comfortable room, lovely hot shower, good food at the cafe downstairs and directly opposite the beautiful old Hua Lampong Station. The stairs to the rooms are quite steep.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - Very friendly and helpful hosts. Always greeted you warmly with a smile.
- Bk (7/5): overall the hotel location is good. The staff is so helpful. - The location if good for us, because we need to take train to other places at the next day morning. It walking distance is below 500m from hotel to wua lamphong train station. that was too noisy until 3am, behind hotel still got people drinking, singing and dancing. My family cannot sleep well.
- Bryn (10/5): friendly, clean, accessible and beautifully presented - location, it’s was a beautiful room.
staff and owners very friendly.
5 mins walk to China town.
- Charlie (10/5): Relaxing and Rewarding - This stay was immaculate, the host was so flexible and helpful while I was transferring hotels and meeting friends, scheduling taxis, holding my bags and adjusting check in without any issue. The room was beautiful and made me feel so high end and comfortable while still traveling on a budget, loved waking up to the sunrise through floor to ceiling windows each morning with a book and cup of coffee in bed. 3 minute walk to China Town and less than a minute from the train station so great location to have easy access to night life and explore the city a bit, there is a beautiful coffee shop with an ice cream parlor just across the canal. (Highly recommend getting a bike in Bang Krachao for a day trip to the weekend floating market too)
- Romy (10/5): Exceptional - Cute little hotel in great area, easy access to everything and super nice and attentive owners. Will definitely come back when I am in Bangkok again!
