Guest Reviews
- Isabella (5/5): - Peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Location of required meal etc.
Nearest pub doesn't serve food mon-thursday.
Needed to drive 30 back to main town to get meal.
Bathroom wasn't an ensuite but it's ok
- Stephen (10/5): We’ll be going back! - Location superb. Our hosts Marjorie and Greg could not have been nicer or more helpful. A stay at Springmead is highly recommended and you won’t be disappointed. Really can’t find any fault.
- favret (8/5): -
- Anthony (6/5): Suited our needs forthe one night stay. - A quirky little B&B. Met our needs and a bit out of the way yet near a pub with a good feed vailable The smell of cats and cat wee inside the building.
- Tanvi (8/5): -
- Helen (10/5): Made feel welcome, beds comfy, and brekkie was lovely especially the yogurt! - Off the beaten track, peaceful and serene
- Becky (8/5): -
- Chi Yeung Choi (10/5): - Value for money. Superb view and enviroment. Breakfast super
- Janet (10/5): - Friendly helpful hosts, delicious breakfast, beautiful location, a real homely feel with nice shared spaces.
- Gillian (10/5): -
- Christian (10/5): Great quaint place in the nature - Beautiful quaint place, nice rooms and super clean. So quiet.
Great host and breakfast was very good
- Wendy (7/5): Great location for exploring all of the Blue Mountain sights and more. - The late check in went smoothly and it was easy to find. The bed was super comfy and the room was toasty warm without needing heating. The location was excellent for trout fishing and local restaurants. The smell of cat urine was very strong in the common area and not a seat was available outside that wasn't covered in cat hair. Luckily we were there to fish the lakes and explore the area.
- Ishmamul (9/5): Easter at Springmead - Marjory was an amazing and accommodating host. Loved the animals at the property. Amazing bbq facilities. Excellent breakfast. Amazing views. The beds were a bit too soft for myself and my partner. An option to pre-select firm mattress would be good. But this is only a suggestion. The stay, the hosts and the property were all excellent
- Eleanor (9/5): Nice break on way to Gulgong - Really nice staff and friendly owners nothing
- Joyce (8/5): -
- David (10/5): Would love to return - Peaceful quiet location, excellent view of the country side and wildlife. Good breakfast. Marjorie was very friendly and informative. Scratchy towels and the shower took a while to drain.
- Greg (10/5): What a gem! Kangaroos in the morning mist and a 160 degree view. Fabulous. - The views, the tranquility, the kangaroos, a superb host, the room, the guest sitting room, the additional facilities such as tea and proper coffee and the canopied terrace. Nothing.
- Ellen (9/5): We had a lovely stay - we were met warmly by the host . The accommodation was very clean & comfortable. I loved the - The location/the atmosphere/ the lovely host. Nothing
We going to come back in winter so we can use the the fireplace room and listen to the rain and watch the local roo mob- they were sooo cute! And the cats and puppies!!! And it is sooo beautiful That we only stayed for one night:))( definitely coming back!
- fabrice (9/5): -
- Andrew (8/5): Genial host, great countryside views, super comfy beds. - bREAKFAST WAS a good range of healthy options in a help yourself style Lack of signage made knowing exactly where the accommodation was somewhat confusing.Thats it.
- Ninus (9/5): A lovely farm stay in a historic homestead - A freshly caught fish and a bottle of wine in hand, my first surprise upon arrival were the lovely views. Hosts Marjory and Greg warmly received me and showed me the bbq and outdoor dining facilities. The room was clean, cosy and steeped in history — beautiful bay windows overlooking the Coxs River Valley. This is a historical homestead and pioneer horse stud, something I learnt from the living room mantels.
Breakfast the next morning was satisfying — Marjory makes great coffee (ground, no capsules!) as well as lovely home made yogurt and muffins. A wave goodbye and a new fond memory of a lovely lodging just two hours from Sydney.
- Amy (10/5): - Breakfast was great. Location was lovely. Very friendly and helpful host. Nothing :)
- Oscar (6/5): - Beautiful location, friendly and helpful owners, comfortable bed, good size room "Ensuite" bathroom was across a hallway; room was incredibly dusty (partner has bad dust allergies) - didn't look like it had been dusted in months; breakfast wasn't what I was expecting - some yoghurt, some cereal, tinned fruit and a couple of pastries each; in all, a little overpriced
- Isabella (10/5): A perfect escape from the city. - The property was in a gorgeous, quite and serene location. The room was generously sized and spacious and very comfortable and cosy. The host was extremely friendly and helpful and breakfast was amazing.
- Yidi (8/5): - The owners are friendly.
The room fill with vintage vibe.
The view is spectacular.

- Anthony (9/5): -
- Diana (4/5): - View and location
- Elaine (9/5): Our stay was very relaxing and such a lovely quiet location - The location was good and the views fantastic…giving a very relaxing atmosphere The entry had a pungent aroma of cat but everywhere else was very pleasant. The cats were a rather nice welcoming party.
- Laura (9/5): A fantastic get away. - Springmead is in a stunning location with expansive views over the hills. Our room was comfortable, spacious and full of character. Marjory was welcoming, warm and able to help with any request. Delicious cereals, homemade yogurt and warmed croissants and muffins for breakfast. A relaxing and restorative stay.
- Amanda (5/5): - Breakfast was very basic. It also felt like we couldn't explore, just a room that happens to be on a farm. Shared mini fridge in main shared area. Creepy decor.
- Mel (10/5): It was a one night getaway to be relaxed and connected to nature. - Springmead B & B is a delightful retreat nestled on a beautiful farm, lovingly managed by the incredibly welcoming Marjory. The breakfast was satisfying, especially the yogurt was very good.
- Anna (10/5): -
- Rachael (6/5): - The view was amazing, very sweet set up and host was very attentive. The bathroom could do with some dusting, some new towels would be better for guests and a full length mirror in the rooms.
- Becky Mair (10/5): - The countryside, beautiful location, peaceful and quiet. Nothing
- Halyna (9/5): - Really nice and relaxing place to stay. We were arriving at night, but thanks to all the information provided by our host Marjorie had no trouble getting there.
She was very welcoming and accommodating.
Simple but delicious breakfast was an added bonus!
Highly recommend!
- john (8/5): Good stay out in the rolling hills and surrounded by nature - Spacious comfortable room, very quiet, good continental brekfast Overgrown and untidy pathways
- Teresa (10/5): - The atmosphere of the Homestead was very homely and extremely quiet and peaceful.
The views were amazing and the hosts were so lovely and accomodating.
Would highly recommend staying here.
- Virpi (10/5): Tranquil place, great service and unique Brekky! - In the middle of Nature and beautiful scenery. -
- Anna (10/5): Nice place with beautiful views! - Such a beautiful place! With wildlife almost on the doorstep.
- Janet (9/5): - Very peaceful location
- Angus (9/5): -
- Ashley (10/5): The stay was short and sweet but unreal. From the location, to the views and the staff. No fault - Location to where we had to be was great.
The view was spatular.
- Allison (10/5): Fantastic stay with picturesque views - The location was perfect for an event we were attending close by. Unfortunately, we weren't aware that the place was pretty secluded and couldn't get a taxi or uber to the event. However, the owner Margery offered to drop off and pick us up (and our friends) from the event we were attending at no extra cost! Amazing!! Definitely wasn't expecting that kind of service but was definitely appreciated.
The views were also spectacular! The breakfast was beautiful and all homemade. Nothing.
- Joanna (10/5): Fantastic stay - Very quiet property with beautiful views. Excellent value with breakfast included. Lovely owners and friendly pets. About a 15 minute drive from Lithgow. Each of the 2 guest rooms has its own private bathroom across the hall. We didn't want to leave.
- Robyn (9/5): -
- Hannah (9/5): Picture postcard - The most stunning place I've ever seen
- Ross (8/5): Springmead is a clean and comfortable place to stay where the host Marjorie looks after her guests and nothing is too mu - A tranquil location with spectacular scenery in a warm and welcoming environment.
- Katja (10/5): - Ejeren var meget sød og hjælpsom. Værelset og badeværelset var hyggeligt, rent og indbydende. Maden var dejlig.
- Kerri (9/5): Very relaxing - Nice and quiet place. Love the location Nothing
- Nikster13 (10/5): - Would definitely stay again. Friendly, helpful owners. & the best sleep I've had in years
- Naomi (8/5): Nice comfortable stay - Beautiful area and views from the accommodation. The host was friendly, and breakfast provided.
The accommodation is unique with interesting local/ family history. Nice short stay/ getaway.
- CF (8/5): It was lovely as a stopover to Mudgee. Has everything you need for a stay. - We enjoyed the homemade yoghurt a lot and liked that there was a coffee pod machine. Bed was very comfortable. Towels were stiff.
- Kathleen (10/5): -
- Mason (10/5): Amazing. Marjory was an amazing host - My partner and I enjoyed the views and the serenity The drive out to the property

- Lauvena (10/5): A comfy and lovely stay - The host Majory was very pleasant and helpful. We had dinner at Springmead B&B for the first night and the food was very nicely prepared and exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was delicious and adequate. Rydal is a lovely area and the B&B's surrounding is serene and peaceful..... and the cats were very friendly too! Nothing
- Mei in (8/5): happy - breakfast view
- Samantha (9/5): - Stunning location, extremely accommodating host and delicious breakfast 😋
- Oleg (10/5): -
- Eddie (9/5): We love the location, quiet & pristine. - The breakfast was great with home make yogurt. Croissant was fluffy, muffin was tasty too. Love the fresh orange juices. Dinner was just like home cooked meal, good value for money. Like the fireplace in the dining room. Three of us came with our folding bikes Brompton. We were asked to park the bikes outside without overhead cover and we were not prepared to do that. In other accommodations, we would simply fold and roll into our room. In this case, we requested to park our bikes folded, just outside the house under cover but our request was declined. Our bikes are electrified and best not to park in open in case there was overnight rain. Eventually she opened up a shed for us to park our bikes.

- Sarah (10/5): Lovely peaceful accomodation with scenic view. - Lovely little old cottage style accomodation with a wonderful breakfast. Separate bathroom across hallway, but not really a problem.
- Daniel (8/5): A great weekend away with the loveliest surrounds - Marjory (Host) was really lovely, inviting and hospitable.
Fresh breakfast each morning with a fire running in the dining room.
The rooms and bathrooms are clean and comfortable.
Tea and Coffee available in the common area with the most beautiful pets.
The friendliest cats and dogs to keep you company.
- Alina (8/5): Nice breakfast. Staff very friendly - It’s very nice place . Cost and comfortable. No.
- Ledgar (10/5): Awesome experience. Love my time there and would be happy to return - Love the views and the supportive nature of the host, with good suggestions of things to do. It was difficult to cook for myself for dinner and I do not usually have e cereal for breakfast.
- Jessica (9/5): Perfect romantic getaway. - The scenery, the hospitality, the breakfast, the warm room, the pets. Everything. We wouldn’t have liked the hard towels but thankfully I’d seen that in the reviews already and we just brought our own. To easy.
- Vijay (4/5): As opposed to the reviews our experience was not good at all - Natural surroundings Very secluded. No shops nearby to buy food. No provision of wash basin or sink in dining area. Bathroom was private across the room, but not ensuite. WiFi not working. The owner didn't make us feel welcome.
- Obaid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Edmund (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sagar (7/5): Good - Very good location to gateaway and its affordable. Very deliciuos breakfast and adorable pets. Marjory was very lovely and helpful. Interesting family story. Coudn't stay for long.
- Astha (7/5): Good -
- Samuel (10/5): Exceptional - It was an inviting experience, beautiful view and secluded from civilization. Great for a personal or couple retreat, recommended if you need accommodation after the Japanese bathhouse. Host greg and Majory were great hosts, will definitely recommend staying for dinner. Cold floors and thin walls so please be mindful with sound and bring your own slippers.
- Ray (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - If you can spare a 20minute drive from lithgow, its a much better option than staying in the town centre
- Nathan (9/5): Friendly owners, quiet beautiful setting, would stay again. - Breakfast was good, Rooms were big and the view was brilliant.
- Rhonda (10/5): Wonderful stay. - The view was amazing, the accommodation was excellent, with delicious breakfast, very comfortable beds, and the hosts were very welcoming. We would highly recommend Springmead B&B.
- Bellbird (6/5): Basic facilities but very welcoming host - Marjory the owner was excellent with communications and warmly welcomed us on arrival. She even made us dinner as the closest restaurants were in Lithgow 20 mins with limited options.
Enjoyed the quietness of the country side and views of the paddocks, kangaroos and stars. The accommodation arrangement consisted of about 4 rooms in a confined passageway so if it had been fully booked, it would have been a tight fit especially given the fact that the 'private bathroom' for our room, the queen, was opposite our room, so BYO robe.
The towels were old and scratchy and the mattress sagged in the middle. The room and common guest room are simple but clean.
It was a bit chilly in the dining room so rug up for meals.
Beware if you're allergic to cats, they have free roam of the common guest area.
- Catherine (8/5): If you love gentle rolling hills & relaxed, friendly staff then you will enjoy staying at Springmead - The breakfast yoghurt & milk is produced on the property so is as fresh can be. The croissants and muffins are served warm which is lovely. Was able to fill up enough to not need a big lunch and no lunch needed on the 2nd day at all
An added bonus if you love old-fashioned pubs found down off the beaten track then the Tarana Hotel is a short drive away. For some country hospitality & a chinwag with over a schooner or a glass of red or ginger beer then you must check it out That we couldn’t seem to enjoy everything at the property, we had so much to do during our time in Lithgow that we couldn’t slow down & just enjoy the beautiful country & landscape we were staying on
- Lorna (10/5): Excellent B&B - Hosts Majory and Greg were very welcoming of us into their home. We were able to use the BBQ with gorgeous views from their porch overlooking the valley. The bed was super comfy and bathroom facilities were excellent. We both really enjoyed Majory's breakfast! Highly recommend this B&B.
- Karin (10/5): A peaceful, quiet stay - The owner was lovely and very accommodating in regards to my later check in time when I was delayed. The bed was comfy, the stars were glowing and brekky the next morning was plentiful - I couldn’t have asked for more. I will definitely stay longer next time!
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Jennie (8/5): Very interesting farm stay and very informative information about the history of Margery’s family - Amazing views of the surrounding hills and the hosts were very friendly , breakfast was very nice
- Eleonora (10/5): Exceptional -
- Warren (10/5): Exceptional -
