Guest Reviews
- Timo (10/5): -
- Ralitsa (10/5): A wonderful stay in Brussels with a touch of real art - It is a very nice and comfortable house in the heart of Brussels. You really feel like home. There are few apartments with private bathroom each and a wonderful shared first floor where you can feel at home. It is all furnished with good taste, a lot of artworks, a grand piano, a gramophone. There is fully equipped kitchen with everything you can need, coffee, tea, water. A nice backyard garden fulfills the experience. This is a great place to stay and the host is always accessible, helpful and nice!
The location is an artistic region in Brussels and you can walk 10-15 minutes to the centre. You have 2 supermarkets and a lot of places to dine around.

- Veselina (9/5): - The host was nice and he provided us all the needed information before our arrival. The location is great, near to the center, shops and restaurants. The room was clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. The minor inconvenience was only that there is no bathroom door.
- Antonio (8/5): -
- Martina (9/5): Tolle Unterkunft.
- Meggan (10/5): A really beautiful property with incredibly comfy beds and a wonderful host! - Good location
Really comfy bed
Nice spa bath
Quiet location
Efficient and kind host
- Zac (8/5): Lovely and large apartment with parking available and a very attentive and polite host. - Lovely, clean apartment with big rooms. We stayed in Room Andy, which was located street side of the apartment, with a small balcony with table and chairs. Attentive and polite host who always checked up on us and our needs. Although the apartment was very nice, we would’ve preferred to be situated on the garden side of the property away from the noisy street traffic. I believe the room next to us was called Keith, which I would recommend to those who would prefer a quieter space.

- Fiona (8/5): Good stay in a Brussels older home - Good location near trains and restaurants which was great to walk to. The owner was lovely and tried to fix a few issues we had along the way Did look like the pics there is a bit of maintenance that needs to be done. Curtains make it difficult to open the doors to get breeze into the flat could easily be fixed
- Olga (10/5): Amazing place to stay. We really enjoyed our room. The hot tub was great! - Amazing place with a great garden!
Steve was very friendly and responsive, he provided clear instructions for self check-in. Everything was perfect!
- Aleks (10/5): Beautiful place - Beautiful place with lots of amenities and convenient location
- Aleks (10/5): Amazing place - Amazing place with convenient location. There is everything you need for comfort
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matilda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nefeli (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect!
- Bernard (10/5): Comfort in the hearth of Brussels. - Location - style etc
Availability of a parking All fine
- Anita (8/5): Very good -
- Lina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anca (10/5): Will be back as we loved the place! - The paintings and the entire interior design along with the silence Some of the floor boards are a bit squeaky!
- Katarzyna (10/5): Great stay - The apartment is stunning, very comfortable, clean, and in a great location. Steve, the owner, was super helpful. I’ll definitely stay again when back in Brussels :)
- Caroline (10/5): A week of bliss, feeling at home yet much better - Exceptionally beautiful suite in traditional Brussels bourgeois style. Very elegant yet cosy. Very romantic, too.
- Sarah (8/5): Comforts of home - Steve was a fantastic host, he made us feel at home. The stove did not work well for preparing a meal. All else was tip-top!
- Jan (10/5): New Year’s Day getaway - Great classy space in the middle of beautiful Brussels
- Coadao (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabriela (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic stay in Belgium, and our host, Steve, made it even better! He was incredibly helpful, even arranging a taxi for us to get to the airport, which we truly appreciated. The room was spotless, quiet, and part of a lovely family-run property, making us feel right at home. The location was also perfect, just a short walk from the metro station, which made getting around very convenient. Highly recommend staying here—thank you, Steve, for your hospitality
- Bhavan (9/5): Superb - Suite Keith was beautifully decorated, very spacious, and comfortable. Steve also communicated very well and it was a pleasant stay (although we spent most of it outside!). The spa bath was strong and good. Access to the fridge water was very useful too. The spa bath cleaned itself overnight and woke us up once! But that stopped.
- Denebalpha (9/5): Very convenient stay in the center of Brussels. - La Calamande - a number of suites in a house - was very well located near Louise Square in Brussels. The house was very tastefully decorated and the ground floor sitting area, as well as the fully-equipped kitchen, could be used by all the guests. The garden was very nice too, but we couldn't use it because of the rain and the cold season. Steve, the owner, was extremely attentive and responsive to all the requests. A great place to stay.
- Helen (10/5): Luxurious room with great extra facilities such as shared kitchen &garden, and a fab host! - Paul was such an amazing host, made us feel very welcome, made sure we had good instructions on how to find it, gave us local recommendations and even walked to the train station to show us how the tickets worked, recommended and booked us a restaurant for dinner! He certainly went above and beyond expectations! Nothing, it was perfect.
- Lindsay (10/5): 10/10 can't recommend highly enough - We absolutely loved our stay at Calamande en Ville! The location was incredible and close to absolutely everything. Steve was so helpful and kind! The room was GORGEOUS and HUGE and SPACIOUS and the bed was super duper comfy. I can't recommend this highly enough. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if we come back we will absolutely stay here again!
- Caitlin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mona (10/5): Had a fantastic stay!! - The location is superb close to train station, old town, and metro. The rooms are huge and very clean. Sitting room and dinner room are especially lovely. Our host is attentive, who wa checking in a couple of times during our stay to ensure we have everything we need. It's a nice feeling that we stayed in the room in where he grew up. As it is in a built-up area, the traffic outside could be noisy for light sleepers like me. ear plugs are recommended. Our host was trying their best to reduce the noise outside. It's not an issue about the property. Its an issue overall with city sound pollution.
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erin (10/5): Beautiful and Comfortable Room, Would Absolutely Stay Again - This property was absolutely beautiful and extremely comfortable. The host Steve is very accommodating and kind. The room itself exceeded expectations and was one of the best stays I've had in a while. The only downside, which isn't a huge deal, is that there is no door on the bathroom attached to the room, just a privacy screen, so all noises are easily heard.
- Judith (8/5): Very good -
- Mingwei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joe (8/5): a hidden gem - Steve, the owner/manager met us at the door and showed us around the town. He was an excellent host and very friendly and helpful for anything we needed
The living area was very clean, spacious and comfortable
Good restaurants and shops are very close on Booking.com it was not clear that it was an apartment so we were very confused in the beginning
There also wasn't a clear sign or message on or above the entrance
- Robert (1/5): Not a hotel. Not a B&B. Just a guys house. - This is NOT a hotel or a B&B. The house is a pretty, old home. This is NOT a hotel or a B&B. This is a guy named Steve Miller who rents rooms in HIS HOUSE. It was super strange and creepy. He insisted we log onto his WiFi, suggested we leave all of our money and passports in a little box that looked like a book, and only wanted to communicate via WhatsApp. The room in the house was pretty, but nothing about this place seemed safe. I would NOT suggest Steve’s house to anyone. I cannot believe Booking.com allows this type of property on their website.
- Gerda (10/5): Completely exceptional experience and exceeded all expectations. - The location was really convenient, the host was really helpfull and everything was arranged in advance, property itself was exceptional, had a coffee machine in the room which was very usefull and full access to the kitchen and the backyard, the room was very spacious, clean and impressive. The whole experience was extremly pleasant, deffinitely staying there again if we come back to Brussels and would definitely recommend it to friends/ family. N/A
- James (8/5): Lovely clean atmospheric property in a great location - Great location Curtains and blinds did not close properly
- Mark (8/5): Comfortable Unit for visit to Brussels - Ok location for short visit to Brussels
- Lindsey (6/5): Pleasant - The location. Had a lovely large room with a large bathroom. A private house with rooms and a shared kitchen. It was beautifully decorated with high ceilings and artwork. Unusual accommodation in that it is a private house with rooms and bathrooms. The area is great and an easy walk to shops, cafes and restaurants. The fact that the bedding and towels weren't changed during a 3 night stay. We expected the room to be cleaned, it wasn't which also meant that the tea/coffee/milk etc. weren't replenished.
We didn't see the host during our stay, communication is via WhatsApp. We did ask for more milk and were invited to use the kitchen supplies. The kitchen felt private and we couldn't find what we were looking for.
- Robin (10/5): Relaxing and beautiful room - Steve was wonderful! He reached out with easy instructions on how to get in and about the areas on the house we could share with others. The property was about a 20 minute walk to the main square and central areas; however, there a lot of great restaurants within walking distance ( 1 minute to 5 minutes away.).
- Silanur (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay was short but we felt home almost immediately. It's pretty close to the city center; we preferred to walk, which only took 20 minutes. The owner is very attentive, helpful and uncomplicated. The room, bathroom and the common area were very clean and well taken care of. WiFi worked really well throughout our stay. It was all in all very comfortable and enjoyable.
- Vicky (10/5): Exceeded all expectations - The building and rooms are exceptionally beautiful. Not just the architecture but the interior design. For our weekend there, it was like we lived in a luxury home. Steve is so welcoming and helpful, always available to give recommendations but not at all intrusive. We’ve already recommended it to our friends who are considering Brussels.
- Gabriel (10/5): Defintely will come back when going again to Brussels. - Very nice place, Stevie (host) was very kind and helpful. Helped us to leave the lugage secured after the check out, and provided all instructions we needed to enjoy the city. Very cozy room, with all you need to have a good staying and a good night of sleep.
- Stuart (10/5): Great Place with a Great Host - Steve was an exceptional host. He went above and beyond. He allowed us to use his kitchen and other common areas which was a real bonus as we were travelling with another family member who had their own room. This allowed us to spend time together after a busy day in the city. It was a beautiful old home which has maintained it's charm but at the same time being well maintained.
Metro was an easy 5 min. walk away. Couldn't fault anything
- Kaitlin (9/5): Very comfortable bed and space, beautiful rooms and property. Wonderful host! :) - This property was amazing, very cute European style felt more like an apartment and was very private. The outdoor space and the shared space were also very lovely and comfortable. I wish we had spent more than just two nights there! The shower/bath faucet was not easy to use and leaked very badly all over the floor when it was in use. The bath was amazing when you got the faucet to switch from the shower nozzle to the bath faucet, but it was not easy to do that. There is no shower at all, so you have to be comfortable using the shower nozzle in the bath. Very French, and once you got the hang of it it was not too bad. My only other minor complaint is since there is no AC (very common in EU) it would have been nice to have more than just one small fan to use in the room. It also would have been nice to have better pillows & more of them.
- Thai (10/5): I would come back here and stay longer next time. - Such a beautiful property! Like out of a love story Nothing
- Runge (10/5): Charming location and excellent host - Our host was outstanding: helpful, friendly, communicative. Nothing
- Georgios (10/5): Unique stay - The room was really clean and very spacious, with a great bathroom. There was a coffee machine and a kettle in the room which was very handy. The garden was so cosy that we spent a lot of time there just relaxing and listening to the birds in the city centre. The owner was very friendly and helpful but in a discrete way that made us feel welcomed. Very close metro. Also the parking was convinient. Nothing
- Kathy (10/5): Excellent stay - This is a beautiful town house in a residential area. Our room "Andy" was spacious and bright and we had a very comfortable sleep. The room had everything we needed and there is a large communal area & garden downstairs. Our little balcony was nice to catch some afternoon sun and the house is an easy walk to transport links and restaurants. There are no staff on site so you are sharing a large house with other guests, however Steve was in touch regularly to make sure we had everything we needed.
- Debra (10/5): What a wonderful surprise this place was, disappointed we could only stay one night. - Everything! Comfortable bed, huge rooms beautifully decorated with wonderful artwork and a lovely garden to enjoy.
We were made to feel very welcome and were able to leave our luggage at the place after we had checked out as our flight out was later in the day. I loved this property and couldn't fault it. If anybody did, it would only be nit picking.
- Melissa (8/5): Beautiful home - Beautiful property. Wonderful host. Very helpful.
The house is absolutely stunning. A short taxi ride from the twin station. And restaurants near by: Wish it hadn’t of been raining so we could enjoy being out in the garden.
Lots of stairs in this old home. Loved being in the apartment on the top floor, but felt too open for the two of us. Not as cozy as just having a room with a view.
- Drutony (10/5): Perfect stay in amazing home. - Beautiful, traditional house with interesting themed decor, in the pretty residential streets of Brussels. Excellent and very helpful communication from Steve.
- Jenny (9/5): Superb - Beautiful apartment, very quiet and peaceful.
- Vivi60 (8/5): Good Value in Brussels - Location was great. Room was very clean. Host was responsive to inquiries. All in all, good value. To be cool enough to sleep, needed to open window/door to balcony
Street was very noisy early morning.
Bed was equivalent to a North American double, so not as wide as other "doubles" in Europe which are usually at least Queen sized.
- Ba (10/5): Wonderful host and great time here. - Steve was very accommodating and let us checked in early. He met us when we arrived and gave us helpful suggestions about the city and where to go for great foods 😄
The location is very close to major attractions and trains station.
Thank you Steve for a wonderful stay. We definitely want to stay here again when we come back Brussels
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional comfort from a bygone era. - This was a most exceptional property - so gracious, from another era, and wonderfully maintained and decorated. The owner was an exceptional communicator, very friendly and helpful. I loved it so much that I didn’t want to go out and see the city. The fittings in the bathroom are top notch and the rooms are so spacious, with high ceilings and tasteful paint and decor. A truly wonderful stay; the grand piano in the office is yet another luxury.
- Kristina (4/5): Property was nice, owner was not. - The room is very nice and pretty. The bed was comfortable. The hot tub/jacuzzi was nice. The neighborhood is quiet but not near anything. You can hear everything in the suite next door. The floors are VERY loud and squeaky. No Wi-Fi working. The tub was nice but there is no shower so it was hard to wash if you didn’t want to take a bath. The owner provided two hand towels and two bath towels. OWNER TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR USING THE TOWELS TO WASH MY FACE. I am a woman and wear makeup. I washed my face with the towels provided. There were no wash cloths, makeup wipes, or any other cotton towel alternatives provided so of course, I used the towels provided. After check-out the owner began harassing me with messages about using the towels to wash my face and TOLD ME I SHOULD HAVE USED TOILET PAPER INSTEAD!
- Laura (7/5): Comfortable historic lodgings in walking distance from main sights - It was historic and gave us access to a kitchen, dining room and living room. The host was responsive and helpful. Odd mix between a hotel and airbnb, which was not what we were expecting (we were expecting a small hotel)
- Lutfullah (10/5): Amazing few days stay just steps away from the heart of Brussels - The property is absolutely stunning. So clean, great location, and easy to communicate with the owner.
- Ilga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ayesha (10/5): A comfortable stay in a beautiful room - Beautiful property and comfortable room No bottled water provided
- Ellen (9/5): Friendly host, fabulous room, great location -
- Cristian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jingyuan (10/5): Exceptional - We love the beautiful common area and the comfortable bedroom. Everything is clean and tidy. Steve is more than helpful, very satisfying stay.
- Joan (10/5): Dream house, beautiful rooms! - This is the most stunning townhouse in the heart of Brussels. The room was very big and spacious, decorated beautifully - I want to live here! The spa bath was a welcomed relief after a 14 hour journey from Mexico. Only wish we could have stayed longer!
- Scott (10/5): Best stay in years - a delightful surprise. The building is totally restored, carefully preserving the original charm. - The building is gorgeous, host was very welcoming, great location near restaurants and 15-20 min walk to famous sights - perfect in all respects. Nothing.
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fulin (10/5): Exceptional - The owner, Steve, provided a lot of useful information about the neighborhood and the helpful assistance when my husband and I needed.
The room is clean, comfortable, and spacious. We will definitely stay there again in the future. None.
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Fantastic room really enjoyed out stay - Beautiful room. Paul communicated very well with us. Nothing
- Marjana (9/5): Superb -
- Jérémy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shona (10/5): Exceptional - The host was available very quickly if I had questions. Very pretty room and bathroom.
- Neil (9/5): Comfortable & stylish - Lovely building & so relaxed Was all good
- Kirk (10/5): A Brussels gem in a wonderful location - A lovely classical Belgian terrace type house with gorgeous, high ceiling rooms in a lovely, quiet neighbourhood.
Certainly something out of the ordinary as far as bespoke B&B style accomodation goes.
Rooms are private with ensuite bathroom, on the ground floor is a common area living room and kitchen with large double door fridge with chilled water dispenser.
Steve the host was extremely obliging and only too happy to assist in any way he could including allowing us use of his private washer and dryer and ordering a taxi for us on us our departure. Close to good cafes, restaurants and shopping, a highly recommended stay in a prime location. Nothing to report
- Grant (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trevor (10/5): Exceptional - La Calamande is one of the most unique and beautiful places I’ve ever stayed! In addition to being a comfortable and lovely place to spend the night, the location was convenient both to the train station and to attractions in the city.
- Kevin (10/5): Fantastic stay. Thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to stay in a top quality place in Bruss - Felt like you lived in posh society in a fabulous house , simple on the outside but the inside was fantastic!! Beautiful light longe area and piano and even a Helmut Newton limited edition book. The best !!! Nothing
- Mariella (10/5): One night in heaven - Room was perfect and tasteful I liked everything
- Hatim (10/5): Great - It was a beautiful property I enjoyed staying there and the location was great not too close to the center but not far either None
- Nina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiona (10/5): Amazing welcome and a fabulous apartment - We were made to feel so welcome and the facilities are fabulous. Definitely recommend!
- Elianne (10/5): Nice home for a stay in Brussels - Beautiful home, cozy and close to shops and the metro to get to the city center. Nice quiet area. The person that greeted us was really nice and helpful and Steve was in contact with us for whatever we might need. Everything was great.
- Amal (10/5): I loved it - i liked the staff, was very kind and welcoming ,and safety, it’s location, cleanliness, and it’s very lovely, I had two fire posts on insta just in the room alone. the wooden floor makes sounds, and the doors seem a lil old, that bathroom door doesn’t shut. but if you’re a couple it’s sweet.
