- Stefanie (9/5): - Das Zimmer war groß und das Bett sehr gemütlich, der Balkon mit Blick auf das Meer und den Sonnenuntergang super schön. Wir konnten viele Vogelarten und Affen beobachten. Roberto und die Mitarbeiter waren sehr freundlich. Das Frühstück war lecker und frisch gemacht.

Die Zimmer mit Blick zum Meer sind sehr schön und der Ausblick gigantisch. Das Restaurant nebenan ist super, das Frühstück schmeckt wunderbar. Irgendwann soll noch ein Pool auf der Fläche davor gebaut werden. Wir würden wieder kommen.

- Eric (9/5): Fabulous location, comfortable stay, great balcony and views, delicious food, and welcoming staff. - Breathtaking location and view, with a sunset over the Pacific and the hills of the bay, with tropical circling birds overhead. Breakfast came with three options, and also plenty of flexibility. The staff were insightful, sending us to intriguing and exquisite locations. The kitchen offered world class fare with an interesting wine list. Very comfortable bed though the pillows were a bit lumpy.

The small town center is within easy walking distance, and it’s very close to the beautiful Carrillo Beach. The room was clean and bright. The breakfast was good with a nice view. Compared to the other places I visited, it seemed a bit pricey to me. The room has almost see-through curtains that don't block out the sun well enough. The bathroom could use some renovating.

- Andrea (7/5): - Tolle Terrasse mit super Ausblick. Anlage sehr karg. Zimmer ohne Bild oder etwas Deko. Personal nicht sehr bemüht oder freundlich. Überhaupt nicht hilfsbereit. Außer der Chef, der aber leider erst kurz vor unserer Abreise wieder kam. Super teures Restaurant, keine günstigeren Optionen. Nicht jeder hat so viel Geld! Wenn man nicht dort isst! bekommt man das auch zu spüren. Und das geht gar nicht! Insgesamt viel zu teuer, für das was geboten wird. Tipp: ein paar Meter weiter ist das Chez Nous. Dort isst man gut und günstig.

Se ve un poco el atardecer y tiene un pequeño mirador del que poder verlo mejor. Algunas cosas de la habitación están descuidadas, como en el baño, que hay desperfectos.

One of the highlights of our stay was seeing two monkeys while we were having breakfast—it was an amazing and unforgettable memory. The rooms were very small and quite old. There was no fridge in the room—only one shared fridge in a common area. The room also did not include a hair dryer or a coffee machine. While we were on the balcony, two iguanas fell from the tree nearby and landed close to my feet, which startled me quite a bit. The breakfast was good, but the portion size was smaller compared to the other hotels we stayed at.
- S. Karfeld (9/5): Wohlfühloase in toller Lage - Das B&B hat eine wunderbare Lage am Ortrand von Carillo in kurzer Entfernung zum wunderschönen Sandstrand mit Palmen. Die Zimmer sind picobello sauber und die Betten sehr bequem, wir haben sehr gut geschlafen. Auf der einen Seite sind schon alle Zimmer modern renoviert, auf unserer Seite war es noch ein bisschen im alten Stil, aber das hat unserem Wohlgefühl keinen Abbruch getan. Der Gastgeber Roberto spricht auch sehr gut deutsch und hat uns gute Tipps gegeben. Vom Hochsitz im Garten hat man einen tollen Blick aufs Meer und den dazwischen liegenden kleinen Wald. Das Frühstück könnte teilweise etwas großzügiger sein.. ein Wasserkocher im Zimmer wäre super, dann kann man sich zwischendurch oder abends auch noch mal einen Kaffee machen oder einen Tee.

- Thorsten (9/5): Absolut Pura Vida - Wir waren für 4 Nächte in der Unterkunft und absolut begeistert. Das schöne an der Unterkunft ist,dass es sich nur wenige Gehminuten von einen schönen vollkommen kostenfreien Strand befindet, wo man schön baden gehen kann. Die Zimmer waren landestypisch Ausgestattet und wenn man ein Zimmer mit Meerblick bucht, hat man darüber hinaus noch einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den Wald und das Meer mit allen was die Natur an Tierwelt zu bieten hat. Und was das ganze noch am annehmsten gestaltet hat ist,dass der Eigentümer der Unterkunft fließend Deutsch, Englisch, Italienisch und natürlich Spanisch spricht, wodurch eine Kommunikation absolut unkompliziert war. Wir würden diese Unterkunft jederzeit wieder buchen und auch allen unseren Freunden weiterempfehlen. Ausser das die Betten bequemer sein könnten war alles super

La atención del personal es excelente. Buen desayuno rodeados de naturaleza. La hamaca en el patio. La poca presión del agua en el baño.

Roberto é a simpatia em pessoa e nos fez sentir muito a vontade, foi muito receptivo e nos deu várias dicas da região. A comida do restaurante é maravilhosa! Eu recomendo muito Só não gostei de ter que ir embora...
- Antonio H (9/5): ❤️Puesta Del Sol, Pura Vida - Der extrem nette und hilfsbereite Besitzer Roberto betreibt ein sehr schönes Hotel samt exzellentem italienischem Restaurant unweit der Playa Carillo. Ruhig gelegen, schöne, saubere Zimmer. Betten bequem, AC funktionierte top, keine Gerüche. Herrliche Sound-Kulisse morgens, es gab immer was zu beobchten.Der Strand ist in 3 min zu Fuss zu erreichen. Dieser gehört zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsstränden. Direkt im Garten hatten wir Besuch von Brüllaffen, Iguanas, Motmots, etc. Wir haben 5 Nächte hier verbracht und sind nur schweren Herzens weitergereist. Komme ich wieder nach CR, dann werde ich sicher auch bei Roberto wieder ein paar Tage verbringen. Die Zimmer sind ein wenig hellhörig.

- Arias (4/5): Mala experiencia para no volver - El encargado se esmera por dar un buen trato, la limpieza de la habitación es buena, el desayuno muy malo, gallo pinto mal preparado, porciones muy pequeñas, el menú del restaurante muy limitado con pocas opciones. Los desayunos no son buenos, el lugar requiere mantenimiento más profundo está deteriorado, no cambiaron los paños una sola vez.

Vimos todo tipo de aves y unas puestas de sol increíbles. Muy cerca de la playa para ir caminando cómodamente. Alguna puerta puede requerir mantenimiento, pero son cosas mínimas que sabemos que el alojamiento trabaja por mejorar. En general todo estuvo tan bueno que esas cosas no importaron.
- Dieter (9/5): Lage, Lage, Lage und Roberto - Das Grundstück, auf dem sich das B & B befindet, liegt etwas oberhalb des Carrillo Beaches, einem der schönsten Strände Costa Ricas: von Palmen gesäumt, breit, goldener Sand, klares Wasser. Vom Balkon aus hatten wir Blick aufs Meer und in die Natur. Die Sessel waren chillig und superbequme. Man konnte stundenlang sitzen und die Tierwelt beobachten: Leguane, Aras, viele andere Vögel, u.a. Kolibris. Roberto, der Inhaber, war jeden Tag präsent und hat sich nach Wünschen erkundigt und diese erfüllt: ein zusätzliches Handtuch für den Strand - kein Problem, eine Möglichkeit, das Bier zu kühlen, wurde rasch gefunden. Roberto haben wir als tollen Gastgeber kennengelernt, der viele Sprachen beherrscht und den Servicegedanken lebt. Auch sein Restaurant, in dem auch das Frühstück serviert wurde, erfreut sich deshalb großen Zuspruchs. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich. Die Qualität überzeugt: Ich habe noch nie in meinem Leben so guten Thunfisch gegessen - butterzart! Wer hier übernachtet und / oder isst, trifft eine gute Entscheidung. nur ein kleiner Tipp: leichte Klappstühle, die für die Mitnahme an den Strand zur Verfügung gestellt worden wären, hätten den Aufenthalt unübertrefflich machen können

- Doreen (10/5): Ein wahres Leguan - Paradies - Roberto war ein supernetter Gastgeber, er hat uns von Anfang an tolle Tipps gegeben, war immer hilfsbereit und hat echt eine tolle Oase geschaffen. Das Restaurant am B&B, wo es auch Frühstück gibt, ist perfekt gelegen und hat ein super Abendessen. 👍👍👍 Die Zimmer werden vom Personal immer toll saubergemacht und dekoriert, selbst das Toilettenpapier ist schön anzuschauen 🌺 Auf dem Areal tummeln sich jede Menge Tiere, Leguane, Affen und die Ara's kann man beobachten, einfach wunderschön. Am Strand gibt's die schönsten Sonnenuntergänge 🌅 Alles top 👍

Then, on our last night, there was a DJ at the restaurant, which made sleeping impossible because it was so loud. If you can’t beat ‘em… join in!

- Miguel Angel (10/5): Lugar de ensueño, nos sorprendió. No nos queriamos ir. - Hotel y destino que superó tremendamente nuestras expectativas. Qué sitio tan acogedor, comodo, rodeado de naturaleza, cerca de la playa. Al principio tuve dudas por algunos comentarios que encontré en internet; pero nada que ver. Roberto fue una persona exageradamente amable, siempre pendiente, y listo para ayudarnos. Playa Carrillo hermoso, y dimos en el mejor lugar para alojarnos. No es un lugar ostentoso, pero no se necesita lujo, porque sus instalaciones son muy bien hechas, balcones amplios, habitacion y baño amplios; instalaciones nuevas y en excelentes condiciones. El restaurante ofrece cenas espectaculares y la vista es incomparable a cualquier hora del dia. Qué disfrute ver el amanecer y en el silencio ver los pajaros, y demas animales. Qué premio ver volar todos los dias los guacamayos rojos en el bosque que se ve desde el balcon, nunca los habia visto volar libres en su habitat. Absolutamente todo perfecto. Que agradable sorpresa.

Roberto ist ein herzlicher Gastgeber und lässt einen gleich angekommen und willkommen fühlen. Die Aussicht ist atemberaubende, die Zimmer super sauber, es riecht auch richtig gut. Tägliche Reinigung. Super Restaurant zum Hotel gehörend. Die Aussichtsplattform ist so wunderbar. Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt, dass wir noch eine Nacht gebucht hatten und uns ernsthaft überlegt haben noch viel länger zu bleiben. Einfach nur zu empfehlen. Haben es auch unserer Reise auch schon weiterempfohlen und werden es jedem empfehlen, den wir noch so treffen. Es war alles super. Richtig Luxus wäre noch ein kleiner Kühlschrank im Zimmer, aber das ist meckern auf hohem Niveau.
- Norman (10/5): Bay views, quality rooms, great host - Great location with views over the bay. Quiet area but has own high-quality bar and restaurant if you don't want to drive out. We had an amazing dinner there, great food. Close to the beach, which was long and quiet. Can buy beer and coconuts from a few vendors. Big, clean, comfortable rooms with air conditioning and balconies, which has seating and a hammock. We had 2 rooms next to each other as we were a family. Breakfast on site was great. We had a choice of a few. Can drive to nearest town for shops and lots or restaurants. Friendly host who spoke great English.I would recommend anyone stay here, you will not be disappointed. It's difficult to criticise. The fridge available was a shared one in the linen room, but that wasn't a big deal.

Makkelijk bereikbaar en naast de B&B is meteen het restaurant vab de B&B met Europese gerechten op de kaart.. In het restaurant is 's ochtends het ontbijt. Vriendelijke bediening in het restaurant. Er was geen kofferrek of iets voor onze grote tas die moest op de grond staan.

Arredamento semplice e in sintonia con il luogo. Estetica davvero piacevole Spiaggia bellissma minuti a piedi. Buona la colazione e davvero fantastico il ristorante. - Kimm (9/5): Quiet, comfortable stay with amazing sunsets - I love the location at Playa Carrillo… quiet, great swimming beach , great wildlife and amazing sunsets. Paid extra for an upgraded room and enjoyed the balcony with chairs and a hammock. The breakfast is quite basic but ya don’t go hungry. No lunchtime food available so I walked up the hill to town.and no real support for questions on getting around by bus etc , you’re on your own.

He provided valuable information about nearby beaches and forest parks to explore, and the best restaurants with great views. The rooms are very clean and the breakfast is reasonable, with a variety of fruit and the possibility of choosing from 4 options. Carrillo beach is less than a 5-minute easy walk. The beach is very beautiful and quiet. For those looking for a place to stay quiet or with family this is the perfect option, there are a few restaurants within walking distance, and the restaurant that works in the B&B is amazing. For those who want to have access to more variety of restaurants, other types of commerce and some excitement, this is not the right place. Nothing to do with the B&B itself and It's not something not to like, but something that deserves to be mentioned for those who travel lacking information. The distance between beaches and parks, despite not being large, the roads are not always in tar and the travel time can be longer than expected. Samara is about 15 minutes away, but other beaches further north or south are more than 30 minutes away. Tamarindo, for example is 2 hours away by car. Another issue is the prices. The prices of meals in restaurants are similar to the ones practiced in the main European cities. If you are looking for a Costa Rica food experience you can find it in the "sodas" where you can taste local food at a more affordable price.

- Sergejus (9/5): Bravo!!! - Absolutely fantastic stay — and the Italian restaurant is world-class! This hotel was truly wonderful, but what made the experience unforgettable was their incredible Italian cuisine. I highly recommend not just staying here, but making sure you dine at the restaurant — it’s easily the best Italian food I’ve had in Costa Rica, and honestly, some of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. The carpaccio was out of this world — probably the best I’ve tasted in my life. The risotto was perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and even the ceviche (with an Italian twist) was amazing. Every dish was prepared with care and creativity. Truly outstanding food and a beautiful setting. This place is a hidden culinary gem — I would come back just for the restaurant alone. Bravo!

- Dj (10/5): Exceptional - The breakfast were delicious with four different choices each day. Roberto, the owner is most congenial and accommodating. It actually feels like two motels in one with one side containing small basic accommodations with a small outdoor space. We upgraded to the ocean view rooms, which are new, Modern and larger with a beautiful terrace overlooking the gardens and the beach beyond. Of course, great views of the sunset restaurant for dinner is An excellent upscale, Italian restaurant run by Alfredo and his son from Sicily. We were very comfortable here and would definitely stay again. We have noticed that many accommodations do not provide luggage stands, including this one.

- Herbert (10/5): This is a great place to stay for couples - I loved this location, less than 5 minute walk to the very beautiful beach. I loved waking up to the sounds of the birds. Th breakfast was okay. A bit more food for the breakfast.
- Caine (6/5): Decent value property missing a few things. - This property is a good value in a good location but is missing a few obvious and inexpensive improvements. No glasses of any kind in the room, no chair for the desk. Silly on both counts. I had to sit on the bed to use my laptop (no back support no bueno).

- Darlene (7/5): Great budget place to stay. - Location was excellent, very close to beach, Roberto was very helpful and according, breakfast was wonderful, bed was comfortable. We had ants in our room and the bathroom could use an update.
- Vera (10/5): Wonderful aesthetic room, comfortable, great location - The room was wonderful, the presentation of the bed looked so nice I didn’t want to mess it up! It was quiet, location is great, nice view, short walk to the beach. Owner and staff were very friendly, breakfast was delicious. Nice semi personal patio and hammock outside although it was too hot outside to use. Lines to hang clothes to dry. Shower pressure was fantastic. I also took a horseback ride through the beach and jungle and it was the all time best ride I’ve ever had. It was called Horses Paradise, Playa Carrillo and my guide picked me up at the hotel with my horse. The sink was detaching from the wall, it still worked but was wobbly and could use a fix
- Jean (8/5): It was a good value and their Italian restaurant was excellent. - The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The location is not far from a great beach. The room was lacking in the charm factor with glaring LED light bulbs, no art, poorly placed shelves, cramped bathroom although there appeared to be much nicer rooms at the facility.

- Jorim (10/5): Great hotel, location, breakfast & host - It’s incredibly clean, the breakfast was absolutely top notch (given that it was free) and Roberto was a very welcoming host. The location is 3 minutes walk to Carrillo Beach which is more beautiful than Samara beach anyways. We‘d come back any time! We were not really able to test out the tv since connection was blurry. Other than that, everything was fine.
