Guest Reviews
- Toni-Louise (10/5): -
- Suzanne (6/5): Only ok - Location and history Disappointed that our host had obviously consumed plenty of wine by our arrival and was also noted by other guests.
We also felt that we became unimportant when other guests arrived even though we were staying the longest time, didn’t find this very professional.
- Stephen (10/5): A bit out of the way, but that added to the charm of this historical country homestead. - Friendly, welcoming, cosy.
- Caroline (9/5): Wonderful peaceful getaway - Loved the peace and quiet and the unique old style bed and breakfast It was a lovely stay
- Bond (7/5): -
- Dipesh (10/5): Amazing stay and experience, Chris & Craig are such amazing hosts! We'll definitely be back! - Awesome breakfast! Kids had the piklets and we had farm fresh eggs that we collected together the day before! Could fault it, we loved the place so much.
- Mark (10/5): -
- Suzanne (8/5): Perfect relaxed home from home if visiting this lovely area! - Homely feel with eclectic decor. Very relaxed and friendly. Chris had excellent communication. Lovely garden setting and surroundings. My room (no.5) was a bit on the dark side (not helped by dark colour fabric curtains & bedspread!). But it didn’t bother me.

A couple of lounge rooms to sit in, on an evening. Beautiful historic house, lots to look at. Rooms were small but very comfortable

- Aisling (10/5): Will be definitely book again with Chris’s beautiful home if we are going down to that south west area. One of the most - Chris is super friendly host and we had a wonderful sleep and stay at one bedroom ensuite room. The whole place is so beautiful decorated with lots of vintage items and we can completely relaxed and enjoyed every moment we were there. The best home cooked Italian dinner and yummy dessert cooked by Chris. The bed is super clean and comfy loved all beautiful decor around the bedroom too. The bathroom and toilet also nice and clean and well decorated. They also have separated fridge for guests to used. A very friendly dog Lola greetings us around the house. Nothing but sad we have to leave the next day.
- Meaghan (10/5): Would highly recommend this place as a staycation spot. - Beautiful period home set on manicured lawns and garden. Loved being able to chat with Chris about the history of the house. Thanks for cooking up a delicious breakfast

- PHILIP (10/5): Brilliant-will definitely go again to truly get away from it all ! - Chris and Shane were so welcoming and made our stay more enjoyable. The House has an amazing history and a peaceful vibe with unique natural beauty around. I even saw a blue iridescent bird I have never seen before. There is a short distance on a red gravel road to get to the property but in a way that adds to the fun. Also be aware of the possibility of kangaroos crossing the road at night.
- Middelberg (8/5): -

Host and staff excellent. Room small. Mosquitoes were bad.

- Julie (10/5): Delightful Three Days - Extremely inclusive. I felt very much at home. Relaxed, warm fire, great meals and so welcomed. Hosts spent time sharing stories about homestead, making sure I had a good time, sharing a wine and meals together. I really felt like I was living with a warm and happy family.
Breakfast was shared around a large table ( if you wanted to) with everyone enjoying conversation and fresh, wholesome foods from the garden or local market. I was out all day but on returning drawn to the communal lounge room to share the day and meet new guests.
I really enjoyed the company and Dingup Houses' wonderful hospitality. It was a great 3 days and pleasant bnb.

Breakfast was stunning. N/a
- Graeme (10/5): A great old time property tucked away in a great setting. - The house & location are excellent for a relaxing stay, Chris is an exceptional hostess, nothing is any trouble & she will go the extra mile to make sure her guests are satisfied.
- Jennifer (7/5): Pleasant. - Pleasant dining room. Very clean everywhere. Lovely location. Chris very entertaining and an amazing hostess. I would have liked coffee and tea making facilities in the room. Room rather cramped. Had to keep one suitcase in the bathroom. No wardrobe facility which, as we were there only one night, wasn’t crucial.
- Sandy (7/5): Good -
- Anna (8/5): Lovely B&B - Chris, the host is wonderful. Love the history of the place Nothing

- Christine (5/5): Passable - We didn't stay for breakfast as it wasn't being served until after 8.30 am and we had to leave to play golf early. We have stayed in many Heritage listed houses over the years, especially in Victoria and Tasmania and unfortunately the upkeep on this one was well under expectations.
- Robyn (10/5): A must stay and will definitely return - Beautiful house and gardens. Extremely welcoming host who made us feel at home instantly. Comfortable beds and delicious breakfast. Nothing
- Roger (10/5): A most relaxing venue - Amazing and will recommend and come again N\a
- Luke (10/5): Historical Dingup house - The room we stayed in was cozy with a nice heavy blanket, up against a window having the garden with fragrant flowers and the sound of native birds. The gardens look great! Chris was an excellent host and the breakfast scones were great!
One of the most historical/oldest places we have stayed in, 4kms away from historical St. Thomas church, close to town, and not far from King Jarrah. Very calm place to stay overall and the resident dog Lola is a character.
- James (10/5): Marvellous. -
- Sharon (8/5): Very good -
- Wendie (7/5): Relaxing getaway - A home with a lot of history. Friendly staff including the owner and backpackers.
The gardens and surrounds are beautiful. Quiet and relaxing. The gravel road to the house was a bit rough. The room missed basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner and hairdryer.
Wifi very limited - only reached to the public rooms.
- Malcolm (8/5): Interesting heritage property - Interesting 'heritage' building in a quiet rural location.
Attractive garden.
A 'continental' breakfast that was reasonably good.
Pleasant, communicative host. Nothing was 'unpleasant' although the description of the room and the facilities on the website was, arguably, 'optimistic'. eg. our 'Private' entrance was actually a door that opened onto the guest lounge; the 'Garden view' was not the 'show' garden but a slightly neglected veggie patch at the back of the house and the 'Balcony' was possibly also the 'Patio' on the (show) garden side of the house.
There appeared to be an ongoing disagreement between the hostess and Booking.com over advertised rates and we were told the rate we were paying through Booking.com did not allow us to be served the property's standard breakfast which included a cooked option and would have been $20 per person more.
Payment on site has to be by 'card' and regardless of whether using a credit or debit card was accompanied by a 2.5% surcharge (I gather though 'card' surcharges are increasingly common in Australia).
- Nola (10/5): Beautiful property - Stunning 150 year old property with beautiful gardens. Nothing
- Steve95775 (10/5): Quite, restful, good for the soul - We always upgrade to the menu breakfast. The fruit bowl is amazing.
Spend 10 minutes in the garden eating it and you're a better person.
- Dizzy (7/5): Good - The gardens and grounds Bathroom was outside of the room, bed was small, wifi virtually non existent, either off/unable to connect for a lot of the stay, and none in the room as too far from the only souce of the lounge room.
- Gendall (10/5): Peaceful and inviting - Great host. Chris is fabulous. Gorgeous property and can’t beat the breaky
- Matt (7/5): Was ok for the one night, suited our needs and staff were friendly - power went off, nice breakfast nothing really
- Julia (10/5): A wonderful place to stay - full of character - Beautiful house and lovely grounds. Our host was very helpful and friendly.
- Clair (9/5): Superb - Really great hospitality, meeting & greeting on arrival, quick tour & explanation of facilities, had kindly turned on heater to warm our room. Our room & ensuite beautifully clean, & thoughtfully decorated, and we could see & enjoy same artistic mix of eclectic & colourful decor and beautiful old pieces throughout historic homestead. Fabulous gardens starting spring blossom. Great cooked breakfast in lovely light & homely breakfast room with good company of other guests. Very easy & comfortable & cheerful place to stay - thank you Chris.
- Alison (7/5): Good -
- Ali (6/5): Pleasant -

- Dianne (9/5): Superb -
- Harriet (7/5): Good -
- Jo-anne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, especially our host, Chris and her dog and lamb
- Lees (10/5): Exceptional - The unusualness, lady Lolas welcome and cuddles, great food and warm rooms. I would have liked a pathway to our room from the car with our luggage.
But absolutely no complaints it was a wonderful stay xx
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jeanie (8/5): Friendly, generous Chris is a great host. - Beautiful peaceful location, lovely historic home.
- Sarah (10/5): A great way for guests to spend time in one of Western Australia's historic homes. - Chris and her partner made us feel very welcome in their beautiful historic home. It soon became apparent that they have a passion for what they do and strive to provide the best possible experience for their guests. The continental breakfast included homemade preserved fruit, which was an unexpected bonus. A five-star experience and great way to spend our anniversary. Nothing
