• Olga Margrethe (8/5): Koselig leilighet med god atmosfære og hyggelig vert. - Veldig nærme alle attraksjonene og restaurantene og barer. Verten var rask å svare på meldinger på WhatsApp og veldig behjelpelig. Det var ganske bratt trapp, burde pakket i ryggsekk i stedet for koffert.

• Horrex (10/5): Perfect location, very comfortable beds and great views - Perfect location, great view across one of the canals and very comfortable beds. Kitchen facilities were superb and the decor is very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed the swing chair in the living room, very comfortable after a busy day exploring the city! Thoroughly recommended for those looking for a great location and a comfortable space to relax and unwind in the evenings. The host was superb, meeting us at the property and was on hand with any questions we had during our stay via the booking app. We loved it, can’t complain about anything!

• rupert (9/5): lovely and magical - this is a wonderful ancient canalhouse in centraL Amsterdam It is one of the oldest houses in the city. For that reason the stairs are steeper and skinnier but it is very central. if you dont like very skinny stairs dont book it. we loved the fun of it and the incredible history. The people in the building were close but this is Amsterdam and the ultimate city living. The owner has gone to a-lot of trouble to make the stay pleasant and we loved it make sure you have bug spray if you keep the windows open

• J (8/5): Rare find! - Right in the heart of Amsterdam, this accommodation made it incredibly easy to explore the city. The amenities were excellent, the view was pretty, and the stay itself was fantastic. I traveled with my female friends, and we all felt very safe throughout our visit. Would highly recommend!
• Kyriacos (10/5): Excellent!!! - We all loved the fact that it was 5 min away by foot from the city centre, close to most attractions, cosy, warm, and very clean place, at a very good price. Also, our host was very kind, and every time we needed him, he was there. I will visit again for sure!!! All was great!!!

• Jack (10/5): Overall our stay was brilliant. First time in Amsterdam and staying in such great central location made our stay so much - The location was fantastic! The apartment was clean and comfy just want we needed for the weekend! The owner was amazing help throughout our stay too! Shower pressure could do with improving.
• Yozkan (1/5): Bad - Just good location It was in a very good location, but it wasn't clean. The cleaner said she had an accident and cleaned it herself, but it was very bad. The sheets and pillows weren't washed. The kitchen wasn't clean. The toilet was covered in hair. We went with our baby, we couldn't take our baby's stroller upstairs. The stairs are very narrow, you have to hold on to it. We had a hard time taking out the luggage. Amsterdam was fascinating, but the room was very bad.
• Ruby (7/5): Convenient location and comfortable stay but does feel a bit strange in someone’s home. - Location was perfect! Beds were also super comfortable. Good if you’re not going to be spending loads of time there and just want an ideal place to sleep & refresh The stairs are extremely steep-can be dangerous when wet too. It is also the downstairs part to someone’s home so can only lock the bedroom side of the apartment, which is fine if you are not taking anything too valuable. There is also only ONE TINY mirror in the bathroom which is not handy if you are a group of more than 2, especially as girls so would suggest taking your own mirrors.
• Yvonne (9/5): A fun summer trip with teens. - A beautiful original 400-year-old canal house right in front of a canal. Very central location and friendly hosts. We liked everything but here are some things to watch out for: TThe stairs are challenging if you have mobility issues. The apartment is on the 3rd floor walk up but since it’s a narrow canal house, the stairs are very small, steep and narrow. We liked the original feel of this and stayed 3 nights so it was manageable. We have 2 teens who didn’t find it a problem, but it would be a challenge for very young families or older folk. The no refund policy does not provide any flexibility if your travel plans change. We booked over 6 months in advance and tried to cancel when our plans changed but would have forfeited the whole amount that we paid. There is no cooking allowed. We were there summer 2024 and a few of the days were very hot. We left the window open which was lovely but we all got badly bitten during the night. Not the fault of anyone, there is no ac so windows stay open. The owner works at night so we have to be very quiet, not an issue for us but if you have excited kids, it might be hard.

• Kam (5/5): Extremely difficult and dangerous to access the apartment by its very steep and narrow stairs. - Great location The stairs. This apartment is on the 3rd floor and can only be accessed by a very steep and very narrow staircase with very poor lighting. Because of the lack of lighting and very narrow steps, my wife has fallen down these stairs and injured herself. Any elderly or visitors with suitcases should definitely not rent this apartment. You just cannot carry anything slightly heavier up/down these stairs safely. A warning should be given on the Booking.com page

I didn’t realize it was someone’s home who would also be living in the upstairs flat. Was a bit strange from a privacy standpoint, but good news our paths never crossed.

Smell coming from the bathroom (is due to the old pipes and sewers near by) but does lessen after using the taps and shower and having an airfreshener.

The fact that we did not have heater for 9 days except for a small mobile one which of course was not enough for 4 people, the mice and the fact that two sets of keys could not be provided which could have helped us to be less dependent on each other

• Aslıhan (1/5): Most terrible experience I had so far! - Only location. AVOID booking this place at all costs! We had the most awful experience staying at this place, I wish I could check these reviews earlier. Even I wanted to cancel 10 days before arrival they refused to make an exemption and we ended up having difficulties with lots of luggage with steep stairs. Not only that place was extremely filthy! My niece had an eye infection and I had my back full of bed bugs bites! Bathroom smells very bad and from blankets to towels everything was so filthy. 3 night stay cost us £700 which was extremely expensive for a rubbish place like this! Place is unsafe as there is no lock to separate us from upstair flat. AVOID AVOID!! This place is nothing like the pictures!!
• Johannes (6/5): Great location but needs improvement. - Amazing location and great living area to relax. The location is so good it does make up for some of the negative features listed below. This place is set up as an Air BnB managed by a third party, meaning you will have nothing to do with the live in owner. The owner lives in a seperate area above the apartment and we did not see them the entire time. This does however mean there is no lock on the area where you stay which does cause a privacy issue. The communication around not being able to cook in the apartment needs to be clearly stated as it was a surprise for us on arrival. The WiFi works ok but definitely stopped working a few times during our stay. The stairs are definitely very steep and very narrow but are fine once you get your luggage up. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have any sort of mobility issues. There was a slight smell in the bathroom but was not very bad. There is no AC, however as long as it's not the peak of summer this doesn't really matter. Water pressure in shower was a little low. Overall the cost was a little high for what was provided.

• Louisa (1/5): AWFUL!!! - **AVOID DO NOT BOOK!!** AWFUL experience!!! UNSAFE, MICE, FILTHY, HAZARDOUS!! Wow we’re do I start.. someone lives up stairs which states on the listing it’s the host, and it’s not!! A stranger! No lock on any door to separate them and us, main front door kept being left open so felt very uneasy. We discovered mouse droppings on work top and floor then when my mother in law sat up reading in the living room, a little mice was running around. The swing in the living room fell down as soon as you sat on it so my mother was injured as she ended up on the floor. All in all, an AWFUL and disappointing stay in the apartment. I spoke to the host many times during our stay and asked them to meet up for check out but no one came. I have sent many messages to request a refund but been refused and ignored. The 3 night stay cost us over €900 and this is NOT acceptable. They shouldn’t be able to have a listing on booing.com! I am now seeking advice from a solicitor and taking this property to a small claims court.

• Emmanouela (3/5): OK for one night - Nice location & view. The living room was nice and spacious also. First of all the stairs. If you have luggage avoid booking this one. I'm quite sure that most of the old central houses in Amsterdam/Netherlands are the same style. Narrow stairs and no elevator. So every time that you have to enter or exit the apartment feels like literally climbing. Second, you enter the door of the building, then you open another one door and you end up at the last floor, where you can see 2 doors for ''separate'' apartments. Then you understand that the apartment door is without a lock. So the other apartment, in which people or the owner living there, can enter your apartment any time they wanted to. Just to be clear we did not see any stranger in the apartment but we could. I do not know anyone that wants to stay in any house without a lock.... Last but not least, the apartment has a kitchen. But guess what. You are not allowed to use it. Exceptions: Coffee (from espresso machine & tea). PS. The WC the first day was okay, from the second day and on the drain was smelling..

• Saskia (1/5): TERRIBLE! WARNING! - Nothing. There was blood splatter and make-up smudged on the wall from previous renter. Sewage smell in the bathroom is extremely unhygienic to the point that it made me vomit. A nice description of the kitchen on booking.vom but rules that you are not allowed to cook. A glass of wine at night would have been nice but the a non-alcohol rule is on the letter in the apartment. No where else is it expressed. Doors don't look and no safes to keep valuables is available. Host gave us keys and didn't feel the need to introduce and show us where it is. We couldn't find it at first as there are no numbers on doors.
• Joel (9/5): The property hosted the perfect holiday ending (for me), the perfect transition between holiday phases (for my friend) a - The location, space and layout suited us absolutely perfectly. A Dropbox for the collection of the keys at the property itself would have been preferable for both us and the host considering the unreliability of arrival times surrounding international flights/customs.
• Dave (9/5): Perfectly placed apartment with access to all areas of Amsterdam! Loved it - The apartment was clean with tasteful decor and good facilities. Having read some of the reviews I wasn’t expecting such a fitting property and really well located too. A great base to explore Amsterdam…. Oh and comfy beds too! The stairs are a thing! Yes there are 2.5 flights of very tight and winding stairs but we expected them having read the reviews. Literally was the only slight negative but we got used to them quickly, wouldn’t recommend the property if you have mobility challenges or have a lot of luggage.
• Steffi (9/5): Superb - it is a lovely apartment for max. 4 person. Its small but enough space for all. When you would experience like people in Amsterdam live - book this Appartement. It is perfekt! You step out of the door and walk about 5 minutes and your in the center. You can’t lock the door so you have to trust. But everything is safe :).
• Ewelina (3/5): Will not come back - Location, two separate bedrooms, cozy beds, a lot of space to spend time together Broken fridge (freezes your food), no shower gel or shampoo, no iron, the apartment is for 4 guests but there’s no 4 chairs for them to eat breakfast together (only 3), the homeowner is walking into the apartment during our absence (there’s no key to lock the door), broken handles (bedroom and bathroom), 2 broken chairs in the living room, the pricing on the damages is ridiculous.

Steep stairs were clearly stated so you knew what to expect. Bathroom left apartment smelly. Lack of cutlery and amenities like shower gel were expected and not corrected even when highlighted & mentioned.
