Guest Reviews
- Matej (9/5): -
- Matthias (9/5): - Super Lage! Tolle Gastgeber.

- Karen (10/5): Will definitely be back. - Great location on the Prinsengracht canal close to trams, restaurants and museum area. Lovely room, great facilities and very helpful & friendly service from Roy & Jacob Nothing
- Yuni (10/5): Wonderful and enjoyable stayed at the Prinsengracht Museum B&B. Highly recommend this B&B - Comfortable, clean and cozy place to stay in the city. Great location and exceptional hospitality from Roy & Jacob. N/A
- Denise (10/5): It was a charming place to stay in Amsterdam and the host were just the best! - It was in a great location! The host were very helpful. Nothing
- Andrea (10/5): The perfect place to stay, right in the heart of Amsterdam. - The room was quaint….nicely appointed, beautiful antique pieces and artwork. It was in a perfect location…right on a canal, close to museums and all the attractions, and in the heart of restaurants from around the world. We loved everything about it!
- Gabriel (10/5): - Great hosts, great location, comfortable bed, room bigger than most hotel rooms. Perfectly equipped and very attentive hosts. 10 minutes walk from noisy downtown yet nice and quiet. 50 meters from buzzy area with many restaurants. Strongly recommend
- Leo (10/5): It looks much more beautiful in person. The canal is right outside the door. Great location, our host was accommodating, - It felt like home, very cozy.

- Wagner (7/5): Beautiful Day Outside, Bustling Canal Street, I Can't Sleep - The Prinsengracht Bed and Breakfast is a great option for anyone looking to optimize location and price. It's located right next to the Rijk's Museum on the canal and you really can't beat it for location. Be aware that you will be right in the middle of the canals of Amsterdam, and as a result you will hear people coming and going all night. The hosts kindly left us ear plugs to remedy the noise There was no air conditioning or fan
- Tatyana (7/5): Nice hosts but problems with the basement room - The location is central, right on Prinsengracht canal, close to Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum.
The room was clean though a bit cluttered with host's things.
Roy and Jacob were attentive hosts. Our room was ready in the morning, we dropped our suitcases and went to a museum. Our hosts left us some snacks plus beer and wine in refrigerator. That was a nice touch.
They also stopped by later to check on us. Communication was very easy. The room is in the basement and there is no airflow or A/C, in summertime it gets warm and stuffy.
Another problem is street noise.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Lionel (7/5): Good - The location was very good. Close to restaurants, the tram, right on the canal.
The room was nice and had everything you would need for a comfy stay. The owners lived on site and were very helpful. Our stay was over a weekend. As the suite is street level, it could be a little noisy late at night.
- Faun (8/5): Very good -
- Lawrence (10/5): Short city break - It’s a lovely homely room. Well equipped. Good location. Nice view out to canal. Easy to get to most places Nothing to dislike
- Eleanor (9/5): Superb -
- Rachael (7/5): Excellent stay with very minor little changes that could be made to make it a complete 5* experience - We absolutely loved the location of this property!
Owners are beyond nice and the place was spotless and ready early for us. The bed is two singles beds together, which for our special occasion wasn’t idea but we managed the 3 nights.
- Helen (9/5): Superb - The location was excellent Nothing
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Colin (10/5): Exceptional - Close to nice restaurants and tram stop. Couple coffee shops just a couple mins away which was great. Thought overall property was fine and decent location
- Taylor (9/5): Made Amsterdam feel like home. - Perfect location with lovely hosts! Room was spacious and thoughtfully equipped with amenities like a mini fridge, hair dryer, snacks, etc. Walkable to tons of restaurants, cafes, and museums. Only critique is we were staying in the summer and had trouble keeping the room cool (to American standards).
- Hugh (8/5): Great location and hosts - perfect for a short stay - Awesome location and the bathroom was newly renovated and very nice. The snacks and drinks were a very nice touch. The hosts were great and always happy to help It got a bit hot so aircon or a fan would have been a good addition
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (5/5): Very basic B & B - Good location close to the underground Metro No toiletries provided until we asked for some. No outlets in the bathroom and no mirrors in the main area to use to dry your hair or use a curling iron:flat iron.
Very small and furnished with very old worn out chairs. We were very disappointed but we know our standards are very high in Canada.
On the plus side we were able drop off our luggage early and they provided some drinks and snacks.
- Светлин (7/5): Good -
- Ilaria (6/5): Pleasant - The position is very good. The room was a basement and it was just on the street, thus very noisy.
The breakfast was not available, but we paid for a bed & breakfast. We were in Amsterdam for work and near the location there were no bars/cafés open before 8. This was very uncomfortable.
- Bruce (7/5): Nice but could have been better. - Location and heritage aspects. Some drinks included. Doona small for the bed. Soaps, hooks, shelves missing from bathroom. TV didn’t work. Noisy at times. Shouldn’t be called a B&B when breakfast is not an option.
- Michelle (10/5): A special little place which felt private yet in the heart of everything good. - The decor was so lovely and having own entrance was perfect. The shower was really lovely.
- Gaynor (10/5): Perfect in every way - It’s was an amazing stay. Everything was perfect. The wine and beer and snacks on arrival were amazing. Location is perfect. So much thought has been put into the accommodation. Thank you guys for letting us stay in you beautiful apartment Absolutely nothing
- Caio (10/5): Very dutch, amazing! - The location was great, but overall the caring and support of the hosts was impressive. The apartment was clean, the food and drinks let by them was so good and the availability is a plus. We've felt really at home.
- Kay (7/5): Good - Very great location. Walking distance for all the famous places If the bed is firmer, it will be great.
- Jane (9/5): Canalside room right in the centre - Central location in a quaint old canal side house, a self-contained studio with its own entrance - must be one of the best addresses in the city 😍Room is excellent value for such a location, few hundred metres from museums, dozens of restaurants and trams to the rest of the city.
Owners are lovely, friendly and very helpful.🙏🏻 Confusion about the title - the Prinsengracht Museum Bed & Breakfast does NOT provide any breakfast…
BUT lots of places for breakfast nearby or use the fridge to store fruit, yogurt, pastries for breakfast in your room 🙂
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, a lovely place !
The owner are very nice !
- Mostafa (4/5): Disappointing - The place The Staff is totally unfriendly and when i asked questions about things and issues in the room he came to my room and said with unfriendly way (you ask too much and you must buy what is not in the room and not ask again) ... I will not repeat it with those guys
- Jen (10/5): Perfect weekend away in a beautiful location! - The apartment is in a great location for what we had planned. The bed was comfortable and the room was lovely and warm for when we returned from the cold (and snow!)
Great little touches like the beer and wine. Roy and Jacob were very helpful with the travel tips via WhatsApp too.
- Susan (1/5): Extremely Misleading Advertisement and Poor Customer Service - I was deeply dissatisfied with my experience here, to the point of finding a new hotel and checking out two nights early. When booking, I wanted a central Amsterdam location; I am familiar with the city and didn’t need anything fancy, just something quiet and centrally located. This property advertised itself as “soundproof” with a “quiet view” and “soundproof walls.” For that reason, I booked it.
This property is a basement apartment with no views (unless you count people’s feet and ankles walking by), and it was the furthest thing from soundproof. Not only were the people in the houses above you clearly audible running up and down the stairs, setting the table for dinner, using the bathroom, etc, but there was an *unbelievable* amount of street noise. The location is down the block from two cannabis bars, and people roamed up and down the street all night screaming. I was woken up at least once an hour all night long, despite wearing the noise-canceling headphones I’d brought along. I finally had to resort to earplugs inside my noise-canceling headphones. It was incredibly stressful and not at all relaxing. I was booked to stay six nights, but after four nights with no rest, I checked out, and into a new hotel. When I told the host I was checking out because of the noise, they said that there is “nothing” they can do about street noise, and that’s why they provide earplugs. (Which they did, right next to the bed.) It’s fine if you have a loud property that requires earplugs for your guests to sleep, but you must ADVERTISE it that way. You absolutely cannot say it’s soundproof; the walls are soundproof, and it’s a quiet view of the city. This is misleading to the point of fraud. If your guests need earplugs, your property is not soundproof, and you know it.
Once I had checked out, the property refused to refund the two nights I didn’t stay there because I had not “given them an opportunity to solve the problem” (they’d already admitted they couldn’t solve the problem without earplugs? How could they have solved it?)
Furthermore, they displayed extremely unprofessional behavior by hanging up on Booking.com staff who called them and attempted to resolve the issue. Now they refuse to communicate with Booking.com at all. It has been more than a week of trying to fix this.
I cannot recommend this property and caution potential guests about these significant issues. The property is NOT as listed, there is no view, it is loud, not relaxing and it ruined a trip I’d been planning (and saving for) for a whole year. Nothing can make up for that.
Don’t take a chance on this place. These people do not tell the truth. There were other issues about them telling me that I could drop off my bags “always” and then when I tried to drop them off, they told me that bag drop off was only available from 1 p.m. It was a mess in regards to them communicating honestly about the limitations of their property and their service.
Don’t take a chance on this place, it’s not worth it.
I added a photo that shows the "views" they offer. The top 1/3 of this window offers you a view of passersby's ankles. If you open the curtain, everyone on the sidewalk can see you in bed.
- Lynne (7/5): Great location friendly host uncomfortable bed - Great location
New bathroom Tv didn't work
Bed very hard
- Laura (10/5): Perfect Location! - Perfect location! They hosts were very nice and easy to communicate with. The apartment was clean and including lots of extras, snacks, coffee etc. A little noisy on a Saturday night, but earplugs included😉
- Eoin (10/5): Owners were very welcoming, I could have been a bit friendlier myself. I was tired after travelling - Great location Nothing
- Kirby (10/5): Beautiful stay right on a central canal in Amsterdam - what more could you want! - Hosts were extremely welcoming, providing advice and tips in addition to maintaining a clean and comfortable place. The location was superb, within walking distance of everything! We loved everything!
- Heidi (9/5): We really enjoyed our visit. The location is great and the hosts are very responsive. - Great location and friendly hosts! The room was a little small.
- Jeffrey (9/5): Would definitely return here again. - Roy and Jacob nothing was to much trouble, fantastic location, Very well equipped, modern bathroom superb, main room had homely feel and had a quintessential vib, lots of good places to eat within minutes away. Could be noisy at night time.
- Liz (9/5): Superb -
- Doctor (10/5): Great place - Everything Nothing, everything was top notch
- Mari (10/5): My husband and I are delighted! This is one of the best places we have lived! The owners are very friendly and kind! Cle - Everything you need to get to know Amsterdam! Everything was wonderful! Very atmospheric place!
- Madeleine (8/5): Visit to Amsterdam - Great location, very clean and has a really cute interior. Owners were very kind and easy to contact.
- Ivan (10/5): Amazing stay thank you! - The location and hosts were incredible. The hosts combined the best of hospitality from AirBnB and hotels with thoughtful gifts and snacks as well as great information of what to do in the local area.
- Anvar (8/5): Worth for stay.. - Excellent Hospitality by the owner. No out side view, though the location is good
- Beverly (10/5): Perfect location for exploring Amsterdam. Very cosy comfortable room with very friendly hosts. Would definitely stay her - fabulous location
- Alexandra (9/5): Perfect location, amazing stay - Amazing location, right on a canal and so close to everything Amsterdam has to offer. Jacob was super helpful and the place was easy to find and to get to with a team and easy to check in. Little touches like some wine and drinks in the fridge we’re great and Jacob also let us check out a bit late to line up with our flight time. As other people have said it can be quite noisy sometimes as it’s right in the city, but Jacob did tell us that and there was also ear buds on the bedside table. It didn’t really bother us to be honest!
- Mathias (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shantel (9/5): Superb - Roy and Jacob were incredible hosts and they've created a very comfortable place to stay right in the heart of Amsterdam. They added many thoughtful touches including specialty teas, snacks, and a mini fridge stocked with beverages and the bathroom was equally well-appointed. I had a late flight out the day of check-out and they graciously let me leave my luggage behind for a few hours. The downside of staying within walking distance to the museums and De 9 Straatjes there were often groups of people walking past until early morning. The room is a basement which puts the window at street-level so it could be noisy on occasion.
- Towney (6/5): If you are looking for location, this is the place for you. - The location of the apartment was perfect. I was able to walk to all the attractions with no trouble. The walk to Centraal Station was around 25 minutes. The apartment is close to public transport. I missed the electronic goods I am used to having when staying away from home. For example, I missed a toaster and microwave and free to air TV. Also, please be aware that, even though the property is called Prinsengracht Museum Bed and Breakfast, breakfast is not provided.
- Balla (10/5): Perfect location, comfortable stay, amazing hosts! - Had a super nice experience at Jacob & Roy's apartment for a 2 night stay over the weekend. The location is perfect (right by dozens of restaurants, on the canal and just minutes walk away from the main Museums). Jacob & Roy are exceptionally thoughtful hosts: communicating pro-actively before & during the stay, the room is very welcoming with lovely personal touches (snacks, drinks, fresh flowers, personal welcome note) - was really impressed how welcoming and helpful they are. They were also flexible with the check- in and check-out time. Would have actually liked to extend my stay, but (not surprisingly) the room is probably fully booked for many weeks advance. Will definitely try stay here again when I am back in Amsterdam next!
- Jane (7/5): Good - Great location and super hospitality from Jacob and Roy!😃 It was all great but if I had to list something it would be that the bed was not all that comfortable!
- Duncan (9/5): Superb -
- Constance (9/5): Superb - Amazing location, comfortable room and
- Aleksandra (8/5): Nice place for short stays if you wanna be walking distance from main attractions - Owners are very nice, welcome snack were a nice surprise. Variety of tea available. There weren't any problems with check-in even though my flight was late.
Room is nicely decorated and stylish, sadly not much of natural light coming in. New, comfortable bathroom. Everything was neat and clean, fresh flowers were a nice gesture.
Localization is perfect. Place for sure is not soundproof like stated so that was misleading. Quite a lot of everyday noise + kids coming from the inside (during daytime, especially that only one door separates the place from the owners apartment) and outside (at nights, partying people). I would highly recommend offering ear plugs to guests.
Even though bed was very comfortable, I haven't slept well because of that.
- Laura (10/5): Incredible stay for a couple - A perfect place to stay for a couple, cosy bed, beautiful bathroom and lots of little touches to make the stay like the wine and stropp waffles greeting our arrival! Communication was rapid and clear and we felt very welcome, thank you! Nothing, the whole thing was perfect!
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefanie (7/5): Great location - The B&B was really centrally located so was a great base for exploring Amsterdam. The bed was really comfy and room was warm and a lovely space to come back to after a long day of sightseeing! The central location of the b&b meant that it was quite noisy in terms of road noise, pedestrians walking past, motorbikes etc. Also the room is in the basement of the owners property so there was a bit of noise from upstairs but nothing that wouldn't be expected although not something I'm used to but I'm sure wouldn't be a problem for others who are used to this
- David (8/5): definitely would stay here again and would recommend to friends/family - location and cleanliness were spot on not easy to find initially and it would have been nice to have more tea/coffee/milk for the stay. Not sure why it was called Bed&Breakfast. It was a little chilly in the room but that might a little picky as Jakob was really helpful and welcoming and handy using WhatsApp
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): Great location and homely room - Roy & Jacob were lovely and so helpful. They went the extra mile with little touches in the room such as fresh flowers, chocolates and drinks, which were much appreciated. The bed was super comfortable and warm, and the bathroom was new. The location is great and close to pretty much everything, and there are a heap of restaurants nearby. We loved our stay here, and it made it seem more authentic than staying in a hotel.
- Anonymous (10/5): perfect location, lovely room. - it’s felt welcoming, warm and cosy
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cengizhan (10/5): Exceptional - -Very kind landlords
-Location
-Home owners are really helpful -
- Hannah (10/5): Perfect Long Weekend - Central, Comfortable & Cute! Easy to find, close to all main attractions! Jacob and Roy are lovely hosts & have thought the room out very well! Comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and great shower. Will be back (didn’t want to leave)! N/A
- Anniesam (10/5): Lovely room in a great location. - Very friendly hosts who made the place feel cosy and welcoming. They even supplied umbrellas and shopping bags in case we needed them. The room is located in a very central area on a canal: a true Amsterdam experience, with lots of restaurants, cafes and bars around. 5 minutes walk to the big museums.
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect stay! - We were in the perfect location! We slept so well and were within walking distance of everything we wanted to do and see. The room was really nice, so comfortable and clean, with lots of lovely little touches like fresh flowers by the bed and little chocolates & wine for us. We absolutely loved our stay, and Roy & Jacob were really kind and helpful too :)
- Guy (9/5): perfect getaway for couples or solo travelers - Perfect location near to the new metro line, which will get you to Schipol within 40 minutes. Good for exploring the area and with Leidseplein and the museum quarter on the doorstep. For longer walks follow the canal and take in the architecture and the atmosphere.
The owners are very friendly and helpful, comms by WhatsApp cannot be faulted. nothing at all
- Lexie (6/5): An amazing location but stressful for me as an older woman to stay in. - The location and being able to walk out the door to visit cafes, nine streets, museums--all in walking distance. Jacob allowing me to check in early and helped me with my luggage on departure. The host's son on doing his best to accommodate me. Very good shower and lovely towels. I was grateful that the hosts let me arrive earlier than advertised but although the host's son did his best, he was not given enough explanation about the room to give me info needed. Very noisy, I was kept awake till 5am on the second evening with streams of revellers going past. Would be good to have double glazing or I should have taken ear plugs. Also,no breakfast, just the coffee machine. The host explained the reasoning behind it, which is understandable but gave me false expectations. Would have liked to have known how to work the coffee machine-wrote a message but nobody came to help me. The room is difficult to navigate with a heavy suitcase and no number on house or sign. Again, host said this would be made good.
- Linda (6/5): The location couldn’t be better, so close to the Rijksmuseum and an incredible bakery within 2 blocks. The room was mini - phenomenal location, nice decor no reading lamps, no table, mediocre bed and no top sheet
- Andreas (10/5): Exceptional -
