• Olaf (4/5): Dissapointing loud place. - Well situated in the city, easy to reach lot of interesting places, museums , etc. room comfort is fine. clean and staff is helpful Unbelivable noice at night from the aircondition and filters of a restaurant in the backyard. It was immpossible to sleep more than 5 h. A disapointing reaction of the host: he had heard about it and i shoud close the windows. For the rate it is not acceptaple.

• Harry (1/5): die unterkunft war schlecht - die lage war gut das, was wir unter badezimmer verstehen, beinhaltet eine toilette im badezimmer. die toilette befindet sich im korridor und musste mit den anderen gästen geteilt werden. das etablissement war im treppenaufgang, und korridor der zimmer, schmutzig und stinkig. der als gemütlich dargestellte balkon bot sicht in den dreckigen, ungepflegten innenhof. der 24/7 lärm durch die gebläse der klimaanlagen usw. ist unerträglich laut und ist auch durch die geschlossenen, nicht dichten fensterscheiben zu hören. das badezimmer hat keinen abzug und es stinkt miffig. das licht im badezimmer stellt an, wenn jemand auf dem gang das licht der toilette anmacht. preis-leistung ist eine unverschämtheit.

• Sergio (10/5): - Ottima posizione, molto pulito seppur con il bagno in condivisione (se non l’avessero detto, non ce ne saremmo accorti). L’host molto gentile e disponibile. Ci ha fornito spiegazioni chiare via WhatsApp su come accedere alla struttura ed infatti siamo entrati senza alcun problema. Si è inoltre mostrato molto disponibile in caso di necessità e dubbi. Potrebbe dare fastidio il rumore esterno a causa della posizione centrale, non è comunque stato il nostro caso in quanto assolutamente nella norma.

Le restaurant situé en dessous est une discothèque le vendredi et samedi soir jusqu’à 3h du matin… le plateau et les couverts de la chambre vibrerais tellement le son était fort… et j’étais au 3 eme !

• Silke (10/5): Highly recommended – we’d love to come back! - Everything was exactly as described – a lovely, cozy and clean room. All instructions were clear and easy to follow. Simon was extremely friendly and responded very quickly to any questions. He even checked several times to make sure we had everything we needed. It wasn’t very clear that the toilet is in a different part of the flat but honestly didn’t even matter we were out most of the time anyways.

• Marit (7/5): - Het bad was heel chill in de kamer, en de perfecte locatie voor ons. Dichtbij een leuke wijnbar en bij het Delamar theater! Hele goede prijs voor Amsterdamse begrippen. Er waren kleine schoonheidsfoutjes vanuit de huiskeeping. Het beddengoed rook niet heel lekker doordat het denk ik lang in de was had gelegen en ook in het bad zaten er in het putje heel veel haren.
• Ingham (10/5): - Location is great. It was a lot of steep steps up to the 3rd floor. It didn’t bother me but could be difficult for kids or older folks.
• Mich (4/5): Disappointing - Location is perfect, room and facilities were clean. Room was returned on Booking.com searches with Private Facilities. These facilities are not private. The pictures give the impression these are in the room, they are not and are accessible to all other guests. The light in the shower-room is connected to the light in the adjacent guest-room; whenever i turned the light on, they turned it off. The curtain pole fell off the wall one afternoon when I was out and couldn't be repaired until the next day making it difficult to sleep when it's light from 5/6am. I had to change my plans to accommodate the repairman. No recompense/flexibility was granted in exchange. The accommodation provided a list of house rules/restrictions, not mentioned at the point of booking, only 48 hours before travel. I received useful information on check-out and baggage storage after I had left the property, which would have saved me the cost of paying for baggage storage elsewhere.

• Charmaine (5/5): Passable - Good location and located very centrally The property was marketed online in a way that was deceiving as it is actually a room in a shared flat. The toilets are shared and located outside. Often times we would see the other guests using the toilet late at night while not dressed. The music in the bar downstairs is also extremely loud and was very hard to sleep.

I liked the style of the room, the balcony, amenities are good, also there was a Phillips light and the colours could be changed which was cool! Big tv. Modern and really comfy bed! Shame we couldn’t have stayed again for the arranged trip. Big mirror, great wardrobe space!! Had to use WhatsApp to confirm booking and receive key code, I was confused thinking it was on the confirmation email and I confirmed my late check in the day before departure via booking chat and assumed I was set. Had a long day of travelling and I couldn’t access hotel on first night, resulted in me and my female friend having to walk 4 miles at night to a 24h check in hotel which charged me over £150. Difficult if using laptop, elderly or wanting to book strictly through booking.com, now I’m struggling to get a refund for this first night. Other than this when we finally got in the room, it was lots of steep stairs. Was relieved when we actually got there though it was a pleasant room. Bath plug carried on falling off & could do with a clean.

• Ruby (9/5): Spotlessly clean and comfortable - Extremely comfortable bed, great shower and balcony was an added extra that we thoroughly enjoyed. The only downfall was the shared bathroom, which I must add was spotlessly clean just a personal preference to have a private one. The apartment is 3 flights of stairs up and would have liked to know that. The stairs are very shallow and steep.

• Steven (10/5): fantastic hotel - our room had everything we needed, it was spacious and comfortable. the location was amazing and had lots of bars, restaurants and shops. The host was great, he gave us lots of recommendations and checked throughout our stay that we were ok and didn’t need anything. The balcony was a nice touch. would definitely stay again. If you are reading this and thinking about staying at this hotel just do it! :)

Room was really clean and communication with the host was excellent. Bed was comfortable and the patio was a nice touch. Host let us keep our luggage stored after checkout so we didn’t have to carry them around. Good check in instructions Room was super tiny. Would work better for 1 person rather than 2. There were parties going on below that kept us awake because we could hear them loudly in our room. It was a special weekend so they were going on until 5 am and we couldn’t get to sleep until then with how loud it was. Host did recommend where to get earplugs, but it was not a relaxing sleeping experience during these times. First night was great though when the restaurants weren’t having parties. The other three nights were just not ideal. I understand this was not on the host, but was unfortunate for us. This would be an amazing place for someone who came to Amsterdam to experience night life. That just wasn’t us. Wasn’t too fond of the bathroom situation considering how much we paid for the place but we did get used to it and the bathrooms were kept clean. The stairs are super narrow and steep for carrying luggage up and down. No iron

Simon also gave the best recommendations and self check in details were nice and detailed. Would’ve been a 10 but carrying our big suitcases up those stairs and then back down at checkout was a woooorkout lol. Other than that, perfect.

Close to restaurants amd bars Extremely narrow staircase with a very steep climb up, not suitable for people with walking difficulties. The entrance area upon entering the building was quite dirty and smell mouldy. Seem like no regular cleaning done in years. Balcony doors open up facing restaurant exhaust fans used for cooking, so unable to open doors. Rooms are clean but small.

• Ghassan (1/5): Bad - Location is very good. Room is clean and very good Hard to find the location. Not recommended if you have luggage since it is on the 3 floor and very narrow stairs. Room is facing the kitchen of the restaurant below and staff are there all the time which makes it hard to open the window or enjoy the balcony. Plus the voice of the kitchen work is inside the room. Finally there is a bathroom in the room but the toilet is shared outside. Sadly I paid for 2 nights but stayed in the room for only 15 hours and had to move to another hotel.

The connecting balcony, would be nice if there could be a fence to separate the two areas. The area you come in could do with a clean and lighting to make it feel more like an entrance. Then inside where the stairs need painting and the first banister is loose in the left as you come in.

Also the music downstairs on saturday night was terrible. There was also noise from outside near the balcony maybe any aspirator that never stoped.

He provided us with information regarding places that tourists should check out and made it easier for us to enjoy local food and culture. Just the lighting on the room was a bit low and would suggest to have brighter lights/lamps.

The 51 stairs were hard work and it should be mentioned that the room is located on the 3rd floor with no lift. The shared toilet is not clear on the write up and I only realised after booking and only because I looked at another site. The bed sheets had seen better days and hadn’t been ironed so looked a bit like a teenagers room when we walked in. The balcony was ok, didn’t like the fact that there was no divider between our room and the room next door - this really needs addressing as when you have the doors open at night when hot, your neighbour could walk straight into your room. Be prepared for a banging Friday and Saturday night… very loud music coming from a bar below til 3am. Passable stay, unfortunately we wouldn’t stay again.

• Russ (9/5): Great location, great bed, natural light, and responsive host - Great Location! Steps from Amsterdam nightlife and the museum district. Bicycle rental is right around the corner. The bed is super comfortable (queen) and the staff is responsive. I enjoyed the rainfall shower. A lot of natural light when it wasn't cloudy. I was there for an academic meeting and had to bring a suit and a few changes of clothes (shirts, sportscoats, slacks). Having a hanger hook or pole next to the mini wardrobe/dresser would be nice. I improvised.

• Kelly (5/5): Cute room in a nice location. Not a great value. - Location was very central and walkable. The room was also had a clean and modern design. We heard the club music pretty loudly in our room on Friday night, starting at 9-10pm and through 2-3am. That was challenging to sleep, even with a sound machine and ear plugs. It also wasn't clear that we were sharing a toilet with other guests out in the hallway. It turned out ok, but for the price, this was not ideal. The lights in the shower room were connected to other lights. If others flipped their switch, you would be left in the shower in the dark, or vice versa.
• Clara (9/5): Superb - It's was a nice host in a perfect area for Amsterdams day and night life. I definitely want to go back if it's available. The separate toilet was nothing to worry about. Nice and clean all over the place.
• Sigal (4/5): Didn’t like anything apart from the location. - The location is fantastic I wasn’t aware it was with shared toilets (I’m 45 - to old for “shared toilets”. The shower curtain smelled of urine. People out side of the room can control the lights in the bathroom (found myself turning it on 5 times while brushing my teeth. The guest next door kept using the washing machine and dryer that was located in front of our room and it was noisy.

• Aimee (9/5): Cosy little apartment in the centre of Amsterdam, and a wonderful stay all round - A very clean and lovely apartment in a great location. Simon was always there on hand and provided excellent instructions on how to gain access/where to leave my suitcase upon checkout. Very comfy bed lead to a great night's sleep, and the coffee machine and balcony were great as well. The shower was separate to my room (I thought that the shower at least was en suite) and the light went out halfway through me being in there!

Comfy bed, well it has that too, perfect for resting on after a busy day in this beautiful city. Simon was the perfect host, available for assistance or recommendations at anytime during our stay. Thank you for making our stay in Amsterdam a special one, we will be back. The only slight negative is that it is a shared toilet with another room on that floor. However, whilst we were apprehensive before arriving it was absolutely no issue at all whilst we were there and the cleanliness of the facilty is excellent.
