• Paul (9/5): - An excellent quiet rooftop location. Within easy walking distance of major museums and handy for airport bus. The area is peacefully residential with plenty of dining options. It wasn't a problem for us but be aware that the way in is via some steep steps and a hatch that gives access to the roof area. Bare this in mind when packing.

• Alison (9/5): Christmas in Amsterdam - The location was perfect, within a 20-minute walk of most major attractions, yet wonderfully quiet at night, which is ideal if a good night’s sleep is important to you. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the apartment was warm and cosy, with adjustable heating to suit personal preferences. The owners were incredibly kind and accommodating, allowing us early access as there was no guest immediately before us. This made our first day in the city much easier after an early journey, which we really appreciated. As others have mentioned, the staircase could be an issue for some guests, but we found that with a bit of care it was perfectly manageable. The kitchen has great potential, but would benefit from a few additional items to make it more convenient for preparing simple meals, such as a colander, spatula, sink plug for washing up, and a microwave or multi-function oven, especially as there is no built-in oven. We did notice a little dust in some areas, and the outside space could perhaps use a bit more attention. We understand it isn’t the summer season, but with some light upkeep it could better reflect the photos and feel more inviting year-round. Overall, a comfortable and well-located stay with thoughtful and accommodating hosts.

Would definitely recommend for people wanting a nice space with outdoor and indoor comfort. The location felt like we were in a lovely part of Amsterdam with a short walk from Vondelpark and the museums too so felt like we were really part of the local life.

• Rhianna (10/5): Excellent property, centrally located and comfy! - The host was extremely friendly and welcoming. This was great after a long 24hr+ journey to get there from Australia. We often ran into him in the hallway downstairs and were given some great suggestions for sightseeing. The room itself is surprisingly large. We stayed inside a lot due to the weather, but this was not an issue. The shower isn’t the best, the pressure isn’t great as the apartment is on top of an old Amsterdam canal house so we understand the plumbing isn’t the best. A microwave would be a handy addition to eat leftovers.

• Fernando (1/5): Avoid this place, you will be scammed - This apartment is not nearly close to the pictures advertised in Booking. * Access: The entrance to the apartment is by climbing a “ladder” (literally a ladder, see photos) and opening a sort of hatch to appear in a roof. It is extremely difficult and uncomfortable accessing with suitcases * Comfort: There is a strong musty smell (in particular in the access) * Comfort: there is work ongoing in the entrance and it is all completely dirty * Comfort: the mattress and the pillows are extremely old and used, they are no longer in proper condition * Comfort: there are quite a few mosquitoes inside. They left the mosquito disinfectant in the apartment but it’s not enough * Comfort: the apartment is dirty and not well maintained * Roof: the roof doesn’t have any flower nor decorations as shown in the photos in Booking.com. It is totally empty, next to the neighbors and next to a sort of kindergarten school with kids making noise from early morning. After many stays in Amsterdam, this was clearly the worst place I’ve seen. NB: after 9:30 pm the host won’t answer your messages until the next day after 9 am.

• Michel (9/5): Das Apartment hat mir sehr gut gefallen, hell, freundlich, praktisch, sehr freundliche Vermieter. - Ich habe mein Akkulader im Appartment vergessen. Er wurde problemlos in die Schweiz geschickt. Sehr freundliches Ambiente und gute Organisation für Ein- und Ausschecken. Sehr gute Lage, alles (Restaurants, Einkaufsläden, Tram in unmittelbarer Nähe, man kann fast alles zu Fuss machen. Die Küchenausstattung betreffend Geschirr könnte etwas grosszügiger und einheitlicher sein. Grundsätzlich ist alles Notwendige vorhanden. Das Bett könnte für mich etwas fester sein.

• Laura (10/5): Wonderful indoor/outdoor space - The space was much larger than expected. All the amenities we needed. We were very fortunate to have great weather while we were there, so much of my time was spent outside on the rooftop space with plants around (thought not yet in bloom). Video sent showing access to the building and space was very good. Accommodation was very clean. It was not problem to manage the entry to the space up some steep narrow stairs, but it might be for others who find stairs a challenge.

• Katie (10/5): amsterdam you were perfect! - we absolutely loved this place!!! it was the cutest stay ever, it made my birthday extra special. we was due to fly out late on the final day and the darja let us keep our stuff there for no extra charge. very easy to check in, darja gave us instructions that were very easy to follow. the location was perfect close to everything we wanted, most of the public transport wasnt far either. thank you so much we will be back❤️ there was nothing not to like!!!

• Ethan (10/5): Would stay here again any given chance. - Beautiful space in the 9 Streets area of Amsterdam. It is so quiet in the room that you will wake up to the sound of birdsong every day. The space is well cared for with a comfortable bed and ample room. The patio and room get great light (during summer) which make it nice to spend time on the patio or wake up with sunlight in the room. The bathroom is also very nice with a comfortable shower. Even the summer the room does not get too hot (using windows to control temperature, or the included fan). The hosts are accommodating and helpful. I enjoyed my interactions with them. Some bugs get into the room, likely only an issue during the warmer time of the year (when I traveled).

• Laila (10/5): Shangri la in Amsterdam! - I loved this little gem. It’s definitely a funky entrance…you climb some stairs and access thru a porthole in the roof. The flat was extremely comfortable and clean and outfitted with many nice features. The terrace patio is divine in a warm spring day. It is extremely quiet and tranquil. The hosts are lovely and the neighborhood is friendly and “local”. If you want hotel amenities- you can pop next door for the Hyatt boutique hotel for a fabulous cocktail. Nothing. It was divine.

• Reunite (10/5): Our stay was beautiful and comfortable and we felt extremely safe and taken care of. - The woman who helped check us in was so friendly. She showed us around the place and explained everything in detail, she had a very welcoming personality and made us feel right at home. The balcony was so cute and it was nice that our apartment doors/windows opened up fully to this beautiful outdoor/private space. We also felt extremely safe here, there was no moment that we felt unsafe in this location. We had 100% privacy and we’re able to fully relax . The only thing we had a little Trouble with was the bathroom light was very dim which made it very difficult to get ready even during daytime hours . There also was not a full length mirror anywhere so that made getting ready for the day or night quite difficult as well . The apartment was equipped with a blow dryer which only blew cold air air at a very low pressure. And lastly this beautiful space had a tv but there were no streaming services equipped , we thought it might be nice if the tv had a firestick which only costs about $30.00 so when we were relaxing at the place we could watch Netflix our Hulu etc from our personal Accounts

• Kenn (9/5): Unique and Comfy with a cool vibe - The location of the house was quite near the main attractions and having the roof top seated area does give it a nice chill vibe (which we took advantage of in the mornings). It was also very spacious and it was nice that there were coffee / tea facilities available and a good sound system to play some tunes whilst winding down. For those who have never accessed a roof top via a horizontal door, this unit does provide that opportunity! Charise the host was also extremely helpful and informative. Didn't get to meet Darja the owner, but also very prompt in responding to my queries. Charise, it was a pleasure to have met you and when you do swing by KL, you know you can reach us via WenY* for some Laksa. The stairways were challenging to access (albeit very authentic and original of Dutch houses), for guest with large suitcases, it can be rather daunting. But we managed!

This was a crash course on how to become an Amsterdamer. I loved it but a little warning to those who are less agile or with lots of luggage.

Charise was great, very pleasant and helpful Awkward to get into, out. Required climbing a steep staircase , opening ceiling hatch onto roof, then entering apartment. I had a couple of heavy bags, very difficult getting them up and down. Charise was most helpful with this, and in general. Noisy a couple of nights - electronic music down the street. Overall a good little place but not great for seniors due to access issue.
