Guest Reviews
- Jennifer (5/5): Great potential but poor terrace & unkempt areas - unlike the photos - Great friendly host with good communication. Clear arrival instructions and good location: 12 mins walk to bus and 19 mins walk to free ferry. The terrace area is stunning to sit at in the sun. I feel bad writing this review as the hosts were lovely, but unfortunately the accommodation is far from excellent. The house is small and concise which is fine for a few days. The shower in the bedroom doesn't suit everyone. The cleanliness was only okay, there was some cobwebs around, lots of marks on the paint. The decor in general is a bit shabby and outdated. The garden area you walk through to get to your house is overgrown and quite messy which doesn't leave a good impression for guests.
However the best thing about this house (the terrace) is also what is letting it down the most. Its dirty and shabby, there is only 3 cushions on the seating area out of a possible 5. All cushions are covered in stains and bird poo. There is general debris and just a messy vibe outside, no nice plants or lights. You are paying for the terrace with this house and although it is absolutely stunning to sit out on, the general vibe is not good, messy and unkempt. The whole place (outside, inside and terrace) could do with some love, TLC, and making over before it is worth the price.
Also, the drains in the house and through the attached house are SO loud and make noises throughout the night which sounds like thunder. The walls are paper thin so luckily I had quiet neighbours, but it will be the luck of the draw.

- Johns (10/5): - Nice location. Extremely comfortable bed 😴
A happy cat like likes talking to you while your in the outside seating area.
- Harring (9/5): - Vermieterin alles unkompliziert und freundlich.Einfache sehr geschmackvolle Einrichtung Hausbootfeeling garantiert. Die Außenküche wird bestimmt im Sommer wieder aktiviert
- Barbara (10/5): Perfekter Wochenend-Trip - Sehr gut!

Ferry a 15 minutes a pied. Parking sur place gratuit. Endroit très calme. Un peu léger au niveau chauffage
- sagit alfassi (10/5): -
- Vlad2881 (9/5): - Great boat house, nice location, not far from local restaurants and the ferry. Good bed, had a great sleep.
- Ruth (10/5): View can’t be beat. -

- Adel (10/5): A peaceful stay, warm hospitality, and a sunset I’ll never forget. - Staying on this houseboat was such a unique and unforgettable experience.
The hostess was incredibly polite, kind, and attentive.
She answered all our questions with patience and a warm attitude, and genuinely tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible.
And the sunset over the river? Absolutely breathtaking.
A perfect blend of peace, beauty, and something truly special , highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable getaway.
- Daniel (1/5): Bad - Nothing The owner was very rude. The area was discusting. The back yard was not that inviting. The fridge did not work. We did not even sleep there,we booked another hotel.i do not recommend this place.
- Merve (10/5): We loved the houseboat; was very nice waking up to the river view and away from the chaos of the city. Very peaceful and - The view was amazing and the place is so comfy with a beautiful garden.
- Ion (10/5): I recommend!!! for relaxation - Everything was good, clean, cozy, all amenities, we cooked dinner and had dinner on the terrace!!! no cons!!!
- Andrii (10/5): Fantastic place with exceptional taste and view - Fantastic place with exceptional taste and view Nothing
- Thomas (7/5): It was fun for one night but we thought it was too expensive for what it was. - It was a novelty for us to stay on a Houseboat. Had a nice relaxing sit on the deck in the sun watching boats go by.
The bed was comfortable and Rosalie gave us good directions for restaurants and the ferry. The room was cold and we couldn't get the heater to turn on at first. But Rosalie got it going when we asked for help. The Houseboat itself needs some repairs, and there are no shelves or places to put your suitcases or hang up some clothes.
- Po (10/5): Cozy beautiful house and neighborhood - Amazing house
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (9/5): Floating home - Very enjoyable two days on the houseboat.
Ferry to Amsterdam was 15 minute walk away, also nice bars and Restaurants at the Quay side. Couldn't turn the light off outside window
- Scott (9/5): Unique and fun Amsterdam Noord accommodation - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Very unique accommodation with a great view
We enjoyed the ducks and swans visiting
We found it easy to get into the city with a quick 10min walk to the free ferry into the city that comes very frequently
Could swim and paddle board from the front door if the weather was suitable Not a complaint, but it won't suit everybody. The property is quirky, our room had the shower in the bedroom and no room for bedside tables. That suited us fine but it's not like a Novetel, and if that's what you're after you should probably look elsewhere
- Izaak (8/5): Very good - Nice quiet area, comfortable little houseboat, and nice to be able to sit outside on the river.
- Kaly97480 (7/5): Good -
- Viviana (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect and amazing
- Rina (8/5): Very good -
- Jonathon (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely relaxing spot, bed was great. Local buses / ferry making it easy to get into Amsterdam central. Nothing - all great
- George (7/5): Good -
- Carla (6/5): 176 euros per night would be perfect for well to do young people. - The location in Amsterdam Noord, which we would not have seen without the vicinity of the houseboat was a fascinating experience getting to know this part of town. It was very easy getting to Amsterdam centre with the free boat transport. We had a remarkable visit from the meowing house cat in the middle of the night, who had climbed in through the window and scratched at the neighbouring door until we convinced it to leave. Waking up directly on the water was wonderful. We enjoyed the houseboat chicken outside also. When we were younger, we would have certainly loved the houseboat. The photos (and the room price) showed rooms that were quite different from reality. The difficulties in getting down the steps without a railing, the shower right next to the bed, the lack of hooks for the shower towels, and especially the absence of anything near the bed to place glasses, phones etc was difficult. Lighting for reading was also lacking.
- Osamu (9/5): Superb -
- Martina (10/5): We will be back… :) - We had chosen this property as it was close enough to the city centre but peaceful for us and perfect for our two dogs with the garden and surrounding field/park.
Loved the big kingsize bed and rustic maritime style throughout. Amazing view onto the river and easy access to all facilities.
It were little extras throughout the unit eg shampoo and conditioner, tea bags etc. Maybe a handrail down the steep entrance stairs for elderly people like us lol
- Abrahan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yusuf (10/5): Really helpful guest -
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Really cool accommodation on the water, dog friendly, very nice hosts, and good facilities. No TV signal.
- Whitebread (8/5): Very good -
- Anna (9/5): Superb - A great place to stay in Amsterdam! It's very cute and is right on the river. The bed is nice and warm.
- Yujie (7/5): Okay. - The room is in a well condition. We get a larger room, but we prefer the original one with a small garden nearby the river.
- Dbdc (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic river view and feel. Lovely host. Great garden and hangout space. Not a dislike, but it is small - just a bedroom, toilet and small kitchen. There's nowhere to sit, except the bed. So in effect it's like a hotel room - an excellent hotel room:)
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Dima (10/5): Very cool location(on the water)with a fantastic view - The location and the view are very beautiful
- Marcel (8/5): Very good -
- Jade (10/5): A very nice place to stay in Amsterdam - Our host Rosalie was super nice and welcoming.
The place was very cosy, comfortable and clean. The terrace on/next to the water was really nice to use (there are also paddles available).
The place is near from the free ferry (10-15min by walk - and obviously quicker if you have bikes) and then it only takes a few minutes to join central station (5 to 15minutes depending on the ferry you take).
There is a supermarket on the way, which is very convenient.
Finally, the “Straat museum” is near the place and we really enjoyed visiting it (museum of street art and graffiti).
We recommend this place a 100%. Everything was perfect
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional place, exceptional hosts! - What a fantastic welcome we received from Rosalie and her family, we felt more like extended family than paying guests.
Rosalie went above and beyond our expectations in making sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. There was nothing to dislike, so much so that we spent our whole time there.
- Anneliis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (7/5): A fun place to stay - Lovely location and atmospheric house boat. Didn't meet the owner but she was very friendly on the phone. There was all the little extras like coffee pods, shampoo etc Couldn't use the outside comfy chairs as the cushions were so dirty (as mentioned in a previous review). Quite expensive although it is city living
- Dennis (8/5): Very good - Location on the canal. It would be nice to have one comfortable chair to sit in that wasn’t the bed.
- Glenda (9/5): Superb -
- Johann (10/5): BOATHOUSE holiday - Amazing outdoor patio and front lounge area by the canal
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay at the living-boat of Rosalie.
The boat lies very calm in the water where you can see the sky change colours during the sunset.
Climbing through the window of the bedroom onto the outer side of the boat (Because it is the given exit) gives you a nice feeling of youthfulness and freedom.
We really liked spending our time here and waking up looking over the water. Very much recommended!
- Bambby (7/5): unique stay with great views - unique, quiet and lovely view! we get the room, patio and a small corridor that doubles up as our private living room and entrance. waking up to this view was awesome couldn’t use the outdoor kitchen as it was not clean when we came, nor could we SUP. think it was the season (we came in mid feb so they probably didn’t expect us to use it, that’s okay) also a bit of a walk in, but you really see a unique neighbourhood in Amsterdam, far from touristy areas!
- Marie (10/5): Lovely accommodation - Accommodating and helpful host. Huge bedroom and huge modern bathroom in the upper floor. Very clean. Unique accommodation at a houseboat beside river/canal with swans and ducks. 🙂
- Hatem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isabelle (6/5): Pleasant - Host is very friendly, kind and helpful. Accommodated request for early check-in. Nice shower and new air conditioner worked very well. Path to garden gate is completely overgrown so it was difficult to locate (in daylight). Family lived upstairs which was a bit noisy and made the lovely riverside porch a little less private.
- Saunders (10/5): Amsterdam get-away - The bed was super comfy! The couch setup on the water was a fantastic way to take in a sunset and the paddleboards were fun. It is a little trek from Central Station and city center. Relaxing quiet spot, but would recommend renting bikes to anyone frequenting the city.
