Comfy bed l had a good sleep. Nice to meet other nationalities over breakfast. I can't give this any faults for me it's was great.
- Anamaria (9/5): Wonderful surprise, we loved it! - The many design details in the halls and im the room, the pool table and the dinner Not being able to pay by credit card
- Garry (10/5): Perfect for being near the airport, and a very cosy and welcoming stay! - I'm sorry this review has been late. I've been home a while, but not had chance until now. My stay here was fabulous. I was only in Charleroi for one night, and really just because I had an early flight from the airport the next morning. It was more sensible than getting up even earlier, and making a transfer from Antwerp. If anyone has an early morning Charleroi flight, I'd recommend doing the same. My only regret is that I didn't arrive in time to see the city.
My first contact with the owner Michael. I called him with and estimated arrival time, to see what was the easiest way to get from the train station to his place. He said he would come pick me up for the very modest fee of 10 Euros. It was much cheaper than a taxi, and buses would be a challenge with my luggage. Unfortunately, due to teh train sitting outside the city for some time not moving, I arrived much later at the station than planned. When I called, he was already waiting, and patiently waited in the rain for me.
The big old house is beautifully decorated. My room was the Moroccan room (they're all themed). It was really cosy and welcoming, and a very comfortable night's sleep. It had a great bar, and a fabulous selection of local Belgian beers, as well as their national favourites. I enjoyed a much needed beer on my return from eating.
Michael gave me a map with a list of all the local eateries. The house is situated in old Charleroi on the outskirts of the centre, so it was a main road with a few restaurants, but served my needs. If I had more time, I'd have gone back to the centre for more options and some scenery.
I had a great, albeit quick breakfast due to my flight, then Michael took me to the airport for another nominal fee, and it was well worth it.
Overall, I'd definitely stay here again, and if you wanted to see the sights in the city, it's only a short ride away by taxi, public transport, or a lift from Michael if he's able! There's not really anything to see locally if you're wandering on foot. You'd have to get to the centre. I booked it knowing that though, so it wasn't really an issue.
- Anja (10/5): Great place to stay - A really great place to stay… I think this was our third stay and it was as nice as the times before ! Will surely come again
- Damien (9/5): Superb - Convenient, comfy and lovely interior and garden.
- Viola (9/5): Superb - A nice welcome and good breakfast None
- Emma (7/5): The garden needs a makeover but the host was absolutely lovely. A good place to stay at a reasonable price. - Michael was an exceptional host, so accommodating and charming. The photos are not recent. The garden and pool have fallen into disrepair.
- Maria (9/5): Superb - The gentleman running the place was excellent.
- Enricol (7/5): It was good, but if the purpose is to get an early plane the next day I would choose another option - Breakfast and owners' manners were very good. Even tho at the moment of the reservation they confirmed me via message that the included airport shuttle was available at the hours I needed (6-7AM), they made me take a Taxi to the airport which charged me 23€.
- Aleksandr (8/5): Super - Very beautiful hotel. Very cozy room with a beautiful interior, decorated in aviation theme. A large model of airplane suspended from the ceiling gives the room especial flavor. The friendly staff made a pleasant impression. Other rooms of the hotel are also beautifully decorated. I didn't like the smell of cigarette smoke penetrating into the room in the morning.
- Michael (7/5): It was a good nights b and b. - Character and Michael was a very good host. The location
- Oyvind (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (7/5): Convenient to Charleroi airport - Comfortable spacious room. Nice breakfast No hot water in Bath. Tired garden. Smell of tobacco smoke
- Doonge (9/5): Superb -
- Andrea (9/5): Great little home away from home and very safe area! - We stayed in the black and white room and it was the cutest most quaint hotel room I have ever stayed in. My daughter and I had so much fun admiring all the unique decorative elements. Michael, the owner was a very sweet guy. If I’m ever in the area again, I would absolutely stay there again❤️. Loved everything.

- Ali (5/5): Passable -
- Arto (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay near Charleroi airport. Creatively docorated big room with aviation and Tintin style. We were starting our cycling trip from Charleroi and it was possible leave our cyclebags to Hotel which made our trip much more easy. Good breakfast and very good service. I will recommend.
- Lajos (9/5): Superb -
- Sisi (10/5): Exceptional - ROOM
- Cecilia (10/5): Exceptional - The host is really friendly and the place is a hidden gem pretty close to the airport. You'll love having breakfast in the conservatory surrounded by the green garden.
- Monika (6/5): Charming place - The room was decorated with taste, I liked a huge bath tube and a double bed. The owner was very nice and ordered a cab for me.
The location is good, close to the airport (7 minutes by taxi). I regret I couldn't receive any breakfast, as I was leaving early in the morning, some croissant for take away or a discount would be nice. Also, I didn't have a soap and a hair dryer in my bathroom.
- Natdutch (8/5): Excellent - Beautiful old house, comfortable room. Friendly host and good airport shuttle service
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexandre (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erwin (3/5): Poor -
- Esko (9/5): Easy going, littlebit bohemian house (in good way) - Old, traditional interesting house
- Frederica (9/5): would stay there again. - comfortable, friendly, clean, shuttle to airport was nice, breakfast was convenient. not much in walking distance.
- Allan (8/5): Great host - The host Michael was very accomodating our flight was an 1hr late we got there at 12.30am and he waited up for us it's a quaint old house but all amenities needed and only a mile from airport.
- Leaz* (9/5): Superb - We were really satisfied... Michael was a great host. The room was clean and cosy. The offered breakfast had just about everything you could need for a great start of the day. When we arrived the room was cold and we got a bit chilly, but it did warm up after we opened the radiators.
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- Kari (9/5): Delightful B&B! - The B&B was really cozy, and I loved the family room we stayed in. It had a loft which gave the kids a separate space, and it was very comfortable. We only stayed one night, but it was a great place to stay, especially if you arrive late or have an early flight.
The owner was very helpful and attentive. We ordered food since it was a holiday and nothing was open, and he set up a table for us in the lounge. He also gave us plates, silverware, etc. The lounge area also has beers and other drinks to buy as well as a pool table. It is a fun place to hang out.
The shuttle to the airport was inexpensive and easy to atrange.
We were there in the winter, so we weren't able to enjoy the outside space, but it looked lovely! There isn't anything I didn't like. However, it is good to know that it takes at least 2 hours from Brussels to get to the hotel if you plan to take public transportation. Take the train to Chareloi Central and then Bus 18 to Jumet Dewerpe. The B& B is a short walk from there. This isn't a bad thing, as it is what it is. It is just good to ve aware so you plan accordingly.
- Hironori (9/5): Superb -
- Gwen_g4g (8/5): Nicely decorated place. Very cosy - the decoration of the place is really nice! Our room (4 people) was warmly heated upon arrival. Michael is friendly. We had a nice beer (and ample choice) in the evening and a game of billiards.
- Giuseppe (7/5): Good - vintage place nothing to complaine
- Stephanie (6/5): The beds were comfortable but the cigarette smoke smell was very intrusive - The property was sizable and had a recreation room/bar. The room decor was put together well. The whole place smelled like cigarette smoke-more so in the bar area. Too bad for the smoke smell. We would have stayed again during our next trip to Belgium.
- Anonymous (3/5): Interesting… - Breakfast. The manager was friendly when we interacted. 1800 check in. Manager not on site when I arrived. Manager did not respond to an email or answer the phone. Smelled like smoke. TV was inoperable. I was asked what time I wanted breakfast and we agreed on 0800. Later he came back and told me the other guests had arrived and they wanted breakfast at 0800 so I had to go earlier or later. Odd and disappointing place.
- Andrei (10/5): Exceptional -
- Margherita (5/5): Passable - The host is a very nice person Not really clean
- Jörg (7/5): Next time in the mainhouse! - The host, the main house The little cottage,
- Ntombovuyo (7/5): Good - Good breakfast and lovely host. My flight was delayed I alsost missed checking shut he allowed me to come inside 2 hours after checkin
- Simon (10/5): We got an excellent experience staying at this place. - Very nice quiet place, friendly hosts, good service We lived in a relatively new room, and the wooden floors and steps creaked a lot.
- Dana (1/5): a fraud - It's almost indescribable how shocked we were to find out that the “Superior cabin” was nothing like what was shown on booking
The house was very, very old, the wooden hut and her yard were not maintained at all
-one of the windows on the front of our cabin was broken
there were full of flies in the house
the house was not clean at all and the bads and mattresses were very old and not suitable for use
outside it was Also not maintained similar to the inner house
Instead of nice swimming pull on the yard, as you can see in the attached photos we found an improper pool with stale and green water
It looks like the house and the yard have not been touched for at least a few years.
After a few minutes of shock, we approached the host, Michael, and politely explain to him why this house is not what we expected and we cannot use it. We asked him for solutions may be to switch to another room in the hotel (the house was outside the hotel), his answer was that this is what we ordered and this is what we got, therefore it is our trouble and it has nothing to do with him
We had no choice but to, leave the place without an adequate solution and look for a place for us and the children to spend the night.
This all process was a real Traumatizing for us and for the children, it really ruined the successful end of our vacation – both the place and the attitude of the owner
We lost the last evening of our vacation and of course we did not get a refund for the 160 euros we paid that why it is very We hope you will read our case and be careful not to book a room in this place
