Guest Reviews
- Carol (7/5): - Location. Variety & quality of breakfast foods
Inside cosy, clean & warm. Looked fairly new There was no signage. It was difficult to find in the dark.
Hadn't realised it was a fitted out shipping container when I booked, so on arrival, I was initially a bit startled.
- Tyler (10/5): Great stay! - This was an amazing little trailer - perfect for 1 and maybe even 2! Within walking distance of everything and a bit closer to Old Town and down the street from the NWT Brewery.
Rob and his wife were super lovely getting me checked in and were super responsive and communicative throughout the stay. They stocked the trailer with some goodies, which was wonderful. Also, got to see the northern lights one night on my walk home!
Would highly recommend and I would certainly stay here again!
- Jeff (10/5): - Small room but quite comfortable. Nice for 2 people. Convenient location. Breakfast items were tasty and plentiful. The host was available a good to deal with.
- Vanessa (10/5): I enjoyed my stay here and found it to be a cozy and comfortable place in a great location with friendly hosts. -
- Carrie (7/5): Great host! Very small space, but good for a bed and a head (bathroom.) - The host was very helpful and communicative. I loved the neighborhood! Great to walk around. The bed was pretty comfortable. There was plenty of fruit and pastries for the days we stayed. Parking is right in front of the Tiny House, so that was very convenient. I didn't ask for anything, but the host seemed very accommodating and I felt I could if I had needed to. It took some getting used to the compost toilet. Because they truck in water, you are limited to a 5-minute shower, so I didn't bother. If you need to cook meals, this place is not for you. There is a microwave for warming, only paper dishes (no forks), and the fridge is very tiny. There is basically no freezer space. Milk was UHT. It was too tiny for me. Seating was only bar stools at the counter or on the bed.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Really enjoyed my stay here.
- Veronica (10/5): Amazing - Breakfast was super nice! The bed was comfortable More cutteries and some real dishes to use the microwave
- Farzaan (9/5): Perfect for 1-2 people on a short stay - Beautiful cabin, super clean, great location within 20 min walk of downtown, owner is very friendly. Overall highly recommend
- Lindsay (9/5): Superb -
- Olga (10/5): As great of a stay as can be - At first I was hesitant to book, but it turned out just great. The host was super nice and the house itself was in great shape. Here is what I found important:
1) Cleanliness — the house was spotless. The mirror, shower, bed, rugs, everything looked brand new
2) Comfort
At first, I was VERY hesitant about the compostable toilet, but it’s really not that bad. The model is called Separett if you want to know the details.
Shower — pretty small, but the water gets to a good temperature, so no complaints here.
The bed is very comfortable as well.
Overall, the house is very well thought out. There is a luggage rack, hooks on walls, little walk-in closet, nightlights, plenty of outlets (including USB), a coffee machine and even slippers. Just 10/10 for the little details.
3) Location. Before booking, I was unsure if the house would be easy to find, but it’s super straightforward. The area is residential with a lake just nearby. Very quiet and feels safe (to me, better than the downtown).
4) Breakfast. A very good amount of food just left in the room for you. There’s also a fridge, microwave, disposable cups, plates and utensils.
5) The host. Had a very pleasant experience with them.
6) Aurora. Because the area is residential, it’s not as light polluted as the downtown. I honestly saw better auroras just outside the house (and on the lake) than on a specialised tour I took later that day
I was very happy with the stay and can’t imagine having a better experience elsewhere. The shower head is mounted in, which I personally don’t love, especially in a smaller space
- Seoyoung (10/5): Exceptional -
- April (10/5): Exceptional - The location was fabulous, just minutes from a great spot to see the northern lights. One night, I could even see them from the window. Rob was an excellent host and gave good tips on where to go and helped me out when my phone charger broke.
- Alex (8/5): I was pleased with my stay there - The breakfast was more than enough nice and quiet very clean The door swipe could be adjusted down as it allowed a draft to sneak in under the door but all was good
- Talia (8/5): Very good - Great location. Close to the old town.
Very clean unit, friendly owners, comfortable bed.
Breakfast - it is not B&B breakfast, as you probably imagine. There are some fruits, yogurts, and pack of croissants in the cabin for self-service breakfast. Which is good. You don't need to mutch yourself to the early morning breakfast after night Aurora tour.
See below my "don't like" points. However, overall, if you are aware of it and it doesn't bother you- it is a good place to stay. It is a small cabin. I didn't realize when booked how small it is. Also, the restrictions do not use showers longer than 5 minutes. For me, it was a very annoying restriction, specifically in such cold weather.
- Khorshed (10/5): Loved the tiny house, all we needed for a fre nights of aurora chasing! Rob was a great host, greeted us and showed us t - cozy self contained tiny house, perfect for a short stay
- Shyh (10/5): It’s a very unique experience -
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (10/5): Was a great place to stay clean comfy bed - Clean easy access Nothing was an issue for us
- Bussiere (9/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay, very comfortable, very clean very friendly people. I recommend this place to everyone Nothing
- Barry (8/5): Very good -
- Luna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashmanie (9/5): Amazing BnB!! Must stay! - This place was a cute gem! Location was perfect- able to see the Northern Lights out back and parking in front of the cabin was also feasible. Very clean and tidy. Host was very accommodating and pleasant. Property was obviously tiny, and the shower was a bit cozy for my 6’1 partner. Nevertheless the tiny house was adorable and practical.
- Beverly (6/5): Pleasant -
- 조지 (8/5): Very good -
- Zeleniak (5/5): Emergency accommodations provided graciously. Thank you again! - The availability and the flexibility of the owner. Outside deck light didn't work by the stairs. I found that the stairs up to the cabin were too close to the next building and made it difficult to maneuver up the stairs with luggage.
Also, there was too little room around the bed.
That said, for what I needed, the room for it was more than enough.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Lolina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Cozy Clean Best location - If you wanna see the northern lights this is an excellent location to stay. We saw the northern lights in front of this cabin on the last day night. You can't have this experience if you stay in the hotel. One thing I am concerned about is the toilet can't be flushed which is like camping car style. However, it has a fan inside the bathroom so you won’t smell anything.
- David (6/5): Cute place but... - Very cute (small) cabin.
Very comfortable bed.
The owners were good with communication and even accomodated an early check in.
Excellent location in town, close to the shore of Great Slave Lake. Sbower is tiny, could barely turn around
There is a water reservoir in the cabin and the pump makes an extremely loud noise whenever you turn on the shower or the tap.
You may also incur additional.charges if you use too much water (we did not).
The compost toilet was definitely an inconvenience.
- Eric (7/5): Good - Location great. Breakfast great. Cool inty home. I did not like the compost toilet. I appreciate that it is environmentally friendly and its necessity when plumbing is difficult in a city like Yellowknife. However, I found the segmented bowl off-putting.
- Rhonda (9/5): We appreciated that Rob was attentive to our needs & checked to see if we needed anything. He quickly fixed the micr - We enjoyed that it was private & we were on our own. The separate cabin and not in the main house was perfect.
