Not in a highly populated area but close (15 minutes) to some really nice dining options Some might not like the stairs but we had no issue with them and they actually added charm to the building

• Scott (8/5): Loved this charming home and host - Very comfortable with lots of space and added services. The host has thought if everything to make the stay easy and enjoyable. Used the bar area and hot tub. Never got to use the outdoor fire pit but wanted to. Breakfast was outstanding. The shared shower on the floor was no problem, but the macerating toilet in the washroom in the bedroom took a little getting used to.

• Alexandra (8/5): - Comfortable rooms but just to say the shower is shared. We only stayed there for one night because we wanted to be close to the ferry so we didnt get to enjoy it fully. There was a hot tub and a garden overlooking the pier. It just so happened the evening we were there we had fireworks and a local gathering with music and lobster rolls. It all felt very quaint. The host was friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was lovely homemade food.
• Elan (10/5): Perfect stay - Beautiful property. The room was on first floor (one up from ground level) and had a en suite toilet, A/C, tv, and a very comfortable bed. Shared shower in the hall was lovely. Breakfast was amazing and served by the lovely Mary. Only 45 minutes drive to Charlottetown through beautiful countryside. Parking on site. A few cats and dogs to greet you. We didn’t get to use the hot tub but it looked great. That we had to leave.

• Brigitte (7/5): Lovely host and big rooms. Good breakfasts! - Very nice setting, generous size rooms. Good access to other areas both inside and outside patio. Windows open and good AC available. On a reasonably quiet street. Comfortable bed. House is old and shows it. Some areas could use a good clean, such as the window frames. Shared shower for some rooms at the moment, this will change over the next year apparently. Need additional areas to hang up clothes and a chair in the room.

• Robert (10/5): We had a very pleasant stay and were reluctant to leave. We would stay here again on a future visit - Our host was very friendly and helpful. She made us feel very welcome. Breakfasts were made to order and included farm fresh eggs, home made jams, and large portions. Our room was large and airy with a view of the river, opening windows and air conditioning if it was too warm.

She provided us with everything that we needed for a comfortable one night stay. The breakfast was VERY delicious! 😋 The bathroom was quite small. I was unable to shave because of the small sink.

Home made jams and good quality maple syrup added to the experience. Rooms were very clean and the bed was most comfy. The details on booking.com are inaccurate. The three rooms do not all have a private bathroom. Two rooms have ensuite toilet and hand basin but share a shower. Check the Inn website for actual room details which clearly and fairly state - private half bathroom. This may not be a problem for everyone but is worth highlighting. The fridge and other facilities were all shared. Whilst it’s an old building, its interior decor does need improving. Be aware that the macerating toilets do make a noise even when water from the basin is run.

• FM (9/5): A delightful one overnight stay. - The place is truly charming with the river's view from our corner room. Mary is a wonderful host, she prepared an excellent breakfast, suggested a good restaurant for dinner. We did not like the shared shower. This is OK for one night stay but not for longer stays. Of course this is our opinion. Other clients might feel different.

Very thoughtful to supply a robe, outdoor towels and flip flops. We got a very warm welcome and lots of useful local info. Try the delicious rhubarb preserve.

• Manon (10/5): Merci aux deux hôtes pour leur accueil chaleureux ;) - Mary et Tommy sont deux formidables hôtes. De l'arrivée au départ, rien à dire c'était exceptionnelle. Nous sommes arrivés en pleine tempête, ils nous ont ouvert leur gîte comme si nous étions à la maison. Ils m'ont même aidé le matin très tôt pour prendre la route sereinement après la tempête. Pour le déjeuner, tout est fait maison du yaourt, à la confiture, un délice. Merci encore pour votre accueil, je reviendrais c'est sur ;) Il n'y a rien que je n'ai pas apprécier ;)

Mary, our host, was lovely and welcoming and the breakfast was so good. The toilet as tricky to flush. I got a lot of cat hair on my clothes when I sat down in the lounge.

The house itself is cozy, we enjoyed all the communal spaces we could hang out, and our room was very confortable. Breakfast was delicious every morning. • Clark (10/5): Comfortable, relaxing, and amazing! - How much greenery there was on the property and the historical look the place had with a little modern twist. Bed was extremely comfortable and we loved the hot tub. That we couldn’t stay longer since we had to travel across the island to get to our other activities. As well as not have the whole place to ourselves since it was a b and b and we have been used to Airbnb. Lovely stay though, would definitely come back when in the area again!

• Sharon (7/5): The location of this B&B is great, and a hardy homemade breakfast begins your day of exploring. - The location is great. Good restaurant near by. The working harbor is a visual treat. Red sand and stone beaches are only a short drive away. The Breakfast was Excellant! Everything was homemade and loaclly sourced. Mary was a great host taking care of all our needs. The hot tub was a treat. (make sure if you use it after dark, have Mary turn on lights). This is a very old house that has been lovingly made into a homey B&B. Not that being old is a bad thing, but just know that spaces are a tad funky and light switches may not be where you think them to be. An amusing bit of funk that Mary made sure to tell us about, is the flushing toilet. It seems that because of the old pluming/toilet system, when you run water in the sink the toilet flushes on its own. Kind of a good thing if hygene is on your list. Wash your hands after toileting and then the toilet flushes without you having to touch a handle.

The bed was comfortable with crisp, white linens and live green plants made it feel personal. Appreciated the Netflix and Amazon Prime. The shower was shared, but appreciated the complimentary robes. And the breakfast provided options and was outstanding. I’d definitely highly recommend The Olde Anchor B&B. Nothing. Everything was perfect.
