• Lindsey (10/5): Absolutely wonderful - Surfactivity Guesthouse will be our first choice if we visit Sal again. - The apartment is huge! So many spaces and delightful features. The generous balcony had loads of space and seating, with lovely shade provided by the blossom. The hosts were friendly, helpful and always quick to respond if we contacted them. Lots of stairs - but they are worth it for the sunshine and the view

• Natalia (9/5): Fenomenal!! - El alojamiento esta en una zona muy tranquila del pueblo por lo que es bastante silencioso. La habitación era bonita y cómoda y todo estaba muy limpio. Lilly quien nos atendió es muy amable y atenta. La verdad que estuvimos super a gusto! Aunque hay ventilador de techo pasamos un poco de calor por las noches. Estaría guay mejorar las luces del baño, luces mas fuertes ya que para maquillarse hay poquita luz.

Lili e Simon são um casal muito simpático. Tem uma cadelinha preta que costuma estar pelas redondezas que se chama aidi que também é muito fofa, sempre que podíamos dávamos algo. Para uma semana está-se bem, foi o tempo que ficámos. O menos positivo é que se ouve bastante os vizinhos a falar (aqui as pessoas falam bastante alto, não é culpa do hostel eheh mas se tivesse que dizer algo menos positivo seria isso, melhorar as janelas ajudaria.

The overall house is also nice and in a quiet area of Santa Maria, around 15mins walking from the center. There are a few restaurants and markets also quite close. The owners are very kind and provided us with some useful tips related to Sal! Very appreciated! The bed is a bit uncomfortable for a long stay, and it would have been nice to find some shampoo/basic items for the bathroom

• Celie (9/5): Superb - Surfactivity Guesthouse is a cozy and warm guesthouse, artistically decorated and really quite lovely. It has more atmosphere than most places I came across in Santa Maria. I stayed in a studio with its own private terrace, which was absolutely delightful. It's on the outskirts of town, but only 5 mins from the beach and you can easily walk to the centre. Barking neighbourhood dogs were a bit annoying at night for me and the place was in generally not well sound insulated, but all the positives made up for that. A special thank you to Amadou who helps take care of the place for making me feel at home.

Lily is very responsive and gives a lot of tips. - Easy check in - Using of kitchen is really handy! - Lovely relaxing spaces and roof top. - Very lovely community with lots of people to meet. - Not quiet at night. You can hear a lot of yelling, talking and music from the apartment next door. - Because of location at the end of the village it becomes dusty inside. They try to keep it clean though. But I imagine it's difficult because of the location and strong winds getting the dust everywhere. - Hot shower only runs for a few minutes. Just enough to wash your hair and body.
• So. (8/5): Lovely apartments and pleasant staff! - The property was within 10 mins walk to the town centre and the beach. Nearest small shop is within 3 mins walk. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Shout out to Lily and Amadou! They even set up a WhatsApp group for guests to interact if they wish to. I would stay again if I have a room facing the street! 🙂👍🏿 I was in an studio apartment at the back of the building that faced some very noisy inconsiderate neighb who were shouting at the top of their voices most of the day and night! The dogs bark incessantly and music gets played very loud till the small hours.......Unfortunately the property was fully booked so the staff couldn't swap my room. Luckily I had booked for just 4 nights so I found a much quieter 1 bedroom flat with a view of the beach and only 1 min to the beach!

They went out of their way to help us and we are very grateful 🙏 beautiful, clean rooms with a real African feel. Perfect location if you don't want to be in the busy main town. Lily and Simon really made our holiday, they were helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating...thank you so much guys 😊 It was perfect...nothing we didn't like.

• Stijn (10/5): Best place to stay in Santa Maria - The guesthouse is one of a kind. The buildings is stunning and well maintained full of color and flowers. The place is very well decorated. Originally the guesthouse is a surfers place, so they can arrange everything you want. But also if you don’t want to surf you are welcome. I stayed in a 2 persons studio and everything was extremely clean. Lilly took care of me as a real guest. She is polite and always available for help. The guesthouse is only 300 meters away from a quiet beach and nice beach bars. There are also plenty of restaurants nearby (try Art Kafe). I will come back and recommend al my friends to stay at this lovely place. It would be nice if there is a musquito net.
• David (10/5): Excellent. - Really happy it was only a few minutes walk to the beach, edge of town away from all the tourist activity (only 5 minutes walk). Great beach bars and supermarket next door. If I walked east from the house through the sand dunes, you had another great surf/kite spot, turtle beach with great swimming and secluded. Staff always helpful, organised or informed me anything I needed. Wi-Fi was ok but not fantastic. Plenty of beach bars around to get a better connection.
