- Megan (9/5): Overall, we loved our stay and would come again! - We really enjoyed our stay at Shawnigan Hills. The location is beautiful and peaceful. The host provided homemade muffins and fresh fruit for breakfast, which we ate on the lovely patio. The beds and pillows were very comfortable and we all slept well at the place. There are quite a few things to do in the area around the bnb, and it's a great option for a relaxing stay. Hosts were friendly and quick to respond to any of our questions. You can definitely hear the pitter patter of the hosts' pets walking around in their home above the guest suite. This wasn't an issue for me, and I was able to sleep well without it is bothering me, but very light sleepers or people very sensitive to noise might want to consider that it is a suite underneath someone's home.
- Vandana (10/5): Beautiful people, home and yard! - We absolutely loved our stay! Without a GPS, it was an adventure finding the place.
But the hosts are wonderful, personable, and generous in sharing their patio and yard space! We loved the goats and chickens.
Thank you for the goodies, your welcome, and good wishes at the end of our short stay. I couldn't figure out the window blinds, but when I left it open, it was actually very pretty!

- Neha (8/5): Very good - We really liked the place and would love to come back again. It was clean, quiet and had a huge backyard perfect for our little ones.. Nancy and Brad were beyond helpful. They were generous to provide fruits, goodies and some Easter treats for our little ones. They were quick to answer all our questions. Thanks again Nancy and Brad! Nothing!!

- Wolvo7 (10/5): Amazing stay - Very spacious, the beds were very comfy! The location was quiet, we got fresh eggs from the host's chickens in the morning. Overall we loved it and would definitely come back. Nothing
- Michelle (10/5): We would 100% recommend SHGS if you are planning a trip to Shawnigan Lake. - Outstanding hospitality and amenities. Absolutely nothing.
- Zitong (10/5): Exceptional - The host here are really nice .They were very enthusiastic and very willing to help me, and after learning that I was a student living alone they left their dog with me and he was super cute, and they also had a lot of little animals like alpacas and sheep that were really cute and they fed them leaves.
- Danis (9/5): Superb -
- Jiri (9/5): Blissful tranquility in Vancouver Island's countryside - We enjoyed a great stay at Shawnigan Hills Guest Suite. The bed was very comfortable, the host was super helpful, and the animals, especially Pepper, were a big hit with our daughter. Good location to visit Victoria and other places nearby, in a much more tranquil environment. If I had to nit-pick, perhaps some healthier breakfast cereal options would be appreciated.
- Wu (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts are very nice. Beautiful and peaceful

- Philip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brick (9/5): Wonderful - Spacious
- Jeanielyn (9/5): Very happy and will recommend - The host was very accomodating, all the information is already laid out and organized. We even had a mini welcome basket and the AC was turned on when we came in which was really really good. The highlight though are the animals and dogs very friendly :) Maybe just the pawsteps in the evening as some people are light sleepers. But us being dog lovers so it's good.
- Cassandra (10/5): Best place to stay on Victoria Island - The property was breathtaking surrounded by forest and beautiful views. The host was very kind and accommodating, greeted us when arrived and made sure we were comfortable. They offered fresh food from their garden and gave us tour of property. They also recommended great nearby activities and restaurants to eat at including a fabulous winery. They provided a delicious breakfast for us including amazing vegan blueberry pancakes. The room provided was very spacious with a great bathtub, 2 beds, a full kitchen, and BBQ to use outside. The owners went above and beyond to make us feel at home and their dogs were very friendly. Near the property in driving distance is the lake, a delicious bakery, and a cute town. I would stay here again next time I come to Victoria Island.
- Mon-fen (9/5): This was a very comfortable and clean accommodations that is a bit off the beaten path. - Clean, spacious Off the beaten path
- Emanuel (9/5): Superb -
- Ann (10/5): wonderful location so peaceful with fabulous outdoor sitting area - Peaceful location, very quiet at night. The lamas and sheep. Farm fresh eggs. Everything was as described, easy instructions.
- Richard (8/5): Great location and comfortable accommodations - It was easy to find and the instructions were clear for how to get in and such. It was very nearby where we needed to go to attend the graduation, which was perfect for us. The welcome basket was very nice and the breakfast items were greatly appreciated. The suite was very cold when we arrived. There were space heaters to use once we got inside, but it took a long time to take the chill out. The dog upstairs was a bit unexpected and it barked and woke us all up a couple of times.
- Melissa (10/5): Wonderful! - The place was fantastic. The owners were extremely kind and helpful. The animals and the grounds were amazing. Very relaxing weekend. I would 100 percent recommend this place to everyone. Nothing. Everything was fabulous.
- Pete (10/5): One Word: ENJOYABLE - Breakfast was okay. Should have left $5.00 and taken the dozen of fresh eggs that was in the refrigerator. You cannot get fresh eggs in a supermarket.
We did get a bonus,--- Blueberry muffins, fresh baked and still warm that was left for us.
The rooms were spacious and clean. In addtion, there was an outdoor, covered patio with furniture
The hosts are very nice people. A cement walkway where the gravel is to the gate would be better for guests that may have mobility issues.
- Catherine (9/5): A little piece of heaven so close to Victoria! - Lovely welcoming; beautiful grounds; spacious and well appointed guest suite on the lower level.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - I had an amazing stay, just what I needed after a few days of camping. The suite was comfortable and is decorated really nice. The amenities and breakfast were great. Would love to stay again if I ever get the chance!
- Bonnie (10/5): Unfortunately we were just there for a quick one night. Would have loved to stay and explore the area. - Peaceful rural setting. Very clean. Huge! Clear easy directions. Treats in the room plus full set up for breakfast. Large deep bathtub!
- Joseph (10/5): Perfect getaway - Host went above and beyond for our comfort. Gorgeous place with all the amenities and great views. Nothing
- Elody (10/5): Wonderful stay - Such a gorgeous estate. Brad was the most helpful and kind host. We only stayed one night but I wish it had been longer.
- Barbara (8/5): Very good - The bedroom window needs to be repaired.
- Richard (10/5): Wonderful escape with amazing hosts - Great location, makes you feel like you are in the middle of the forest but there are still plenty of amenities nearby. The property is wonderful, feels like a complete home. Nancy and Brad are wonderful hosts - Nancy made us some delicious muffins!
- Jesse (10/5): Amazing getaway - Beautiful, secluded home. Very spacious with all the amenities plus lots of snacks and breakfast!
- Piotr (10/5): Great spot, very welcoming guest, we will be coming back! - We stayed for one night and we had a great time. Nancy was very welcoming and everything in the property was great. Comfy bed, amazing local eggs and some other food available, we even got some freshly baked muffins in the morning!
The location is great, very peaceful and quiet and our little one enjoyed watching alpacas and sheep roam around.

- Terry (8/5): Excellent. Will be back! - Loved the view at the back. The place was exactly what we expected and wanted! Perfect for me and my sister!! Nothing really…
- M. (10/5): Wonderful - It was a pleasure to stay at your place and to meet you. We stayed just for 2 night but we are coming back for sure. Thanks for everything
- Rockwood (10/5): A slice of peaceful heaven - Beautiful private setting, so peaceful and quiet. Huge apartment with lovely bedroom, sitting room and kitchen. Very friendly and helpful host. Lovely generous snacks and supplies for breakfast including eggs from their own hens. Fresh muffins for breakfast as well! We loved seeing the sheep, alpacas, henscand dogs as well. The second bed is situated in the sitting room so not very private and the bathroom is off the kitchen so a trek across the apartment is required but compared to how lovely everything is this is very minor.
- Janine (10/5): The best home made scones I had during my stay in British Colombia. - Comfortable stay and great breakfast.
- Teresa (10/5): Hosts were amazing! Brought us homemade blueberry pancakes for breakfast… which were awesome! - Beautiful property…loved seeing the llamas, sheep and chickens!
- Grégoire (9/5): Wonderful, thank you Nancy and Brad! - Place is incredible, lots of space, warm welcome with many attentions. Super ! Sound isolation could be better with upstairs but just a small detail that does not deserve this great place
- Haihong (10/5): It was an excellent experience - the best of it is the super nice owner, Brad. Brad has three Alpaca, five sheep and forty chicken in him property. He even teach us how to feed the animals. He gave us some tomatoes from his garden
- Brenda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexdftat (10/5): The best B&B I have been! - Amazing! The best B&B I have been!
We enjoy everything. Nothing. Just perfect.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Great experience. More comfortable the a Hotel. All was good.
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mason (10/5): Excellent host and very comfortable stay. Highest recommendation. - One of the best pancakes ever by chef Brad!
- Donna (10/5): Nancy and Brad are wonderful hosts and the suite was comfortable and well appointed. - Breakfast was self-serve in the suite but there was lots provided. Bread, small boxes of cereal and home made granola (which was delicious),eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, milk and juice. And Nancy made fresh muffins, which were delicious. While we enjoy meeting people at breakfast in most b&b's making our own meant we could eat at any time and snack later if we wanted. It was nice to have a private patio space outside to enjoy the sunshine. Room-darkening window coverings would have been great, especially with the early morning sun coming directly into the suite.
- Joel (10/5): Ideal places to recharge your batteries in the heart of nature - Warm welcome, very comfortable and large apartment with a magnificent view of the countryside, with a view of the animals. Excellent fresh breakfast
- Jeff (10/5): I woke up refreshed from a comfortable bed, made coffee and the hosts brought down fresh pancakes…. Does it get any bett - Beautiful piece of people with great views and easy access
- Clare (10/5): Can't wait to stay again! - Everything was so much better than we had hoped for.
- Wyn (10/5): One of the best places we’ve ever stayed, highly recommended. - 3 large rooms with outside sitting area and great view. Very welcoming and helpful hosts. Nothing. We loved it.
- Janet (9/5): The guest house is so comfortable that you really should stay longer than one night/day. - Location, once we managed to find Shawnigan Hills, is wonderful. The combination of my poor cellphone navigation and my confusion at the end of a busy day meant it took us a while to locate the guest house. Was very glad to eventually arrive.
Loved everything else about it. The fact that I couldn't stay longer..... :)
- Paul (9/5): It was personal & very welcoming - Breakfast great & location perfect
- Antonia (10/5): Most beautiful and well equiped apartment with tranquil vibes and super nice hosts. - Wonderful, spacious apartment and the nicest hosts I've ever met. We felt so welcomed and looked after. Stay longer! It's a jewel.
- Bernard (10/5): Exceptional -
- L (10/5): Wonderful place, wish we'd had more time there instead of our late arrival - Brad & Nancy were very warm & welcoming. The setting is wonderfully ensconced in a natural environment; the accommodation exceptionally clean & spacious; breakfast supplies great, supplemented by yummy fresh muffins [thanks Nancy!] We had a difficult time finding the place with our GPS. Not sure if anyone else had similar problem, but we think knowing that highway 1 N is where we needed to aim would have helped orient us, & our GPS as we came off the Swartz Ferry.
- Mareike (9/5): Superb - friendly hosts and beautiful animals, spacious rooms noise carried through the ceiling
- Marielle (10/5): Great stay at Shawnigan Lake - Excellent breakfast. Very spacious and very clean.
We have love our stay. All good.
- Andre (10/5): Fantastic stay! - Wow! What a fantastic stay.
The unit is massive! Big room with huge, super comfy bed. A seperate lounge with TV, boardgames, books, snacks. Big kitchen with everything you could possibly need. The unit is private with seperate entry.
There's a lovely patio overlooking the farm. BBQ facilities also available.
For breakfast we were provided with fresh muffins, farm eggs, fresh bread, yoghurt, milk, cereals - a real breakfast feast!
We met both hosts (Nancy and Brad) and they were fantastic - friendly, helpfull and lots of recommendations for things to do and see in the area.
Highly recommend this spacious unit with a real country charm!
- Sorab (8/5): Very good -

- Azizah (10/5): I would give it more than 10 stars if I could. - A charming, clean, spacious and comfortable space in a gorgeous area, with great hosts (the people and the animals!) and delicious scones (among other things) for breakfast to boot. Nothing at all.

The place is huge, & it was lovely to have some welcome goodies in a basket. We could hear the dog running around above us, at 6.30am.
