Guest Reviews
- Melodie (9/5): -
- Debra (9/5): was the perfect place for our 4 night stay in January - so much better than a hotel - lovely space, comfortable bed, nice bathroom with amenities, nice view of the lake, good seating area, food provided for us to have breakfast in the suite was very helpful and included bagels, cream cheese, butter, bakery goods, orange juice and coffee, tea and coffee cream. Instructions for check in were very clear. Nice off street parking and provided plug in for car block heater. Easy to reach restaurants, grocery shops and points of interest. Guests should remember that this is the lower suite in someone's home with children and dogs so there will be some noise. Not a problem for us
- Laurie (10/5): Lovely home with beautiful views and wonderful owners who were extremely accommodating. - The location and amenities were perfect for our visit and our needs. The owners were very friendly and helpful and were willing to assist with anything we needed or asked. We were very grateful and comfortable our entire trip. Would definitely recommend them to anyone who wants a beautiful location and comfortable place to stay. Nothing
- Janice (9/5): Great place, independent, pretty and scenic. - Only issue was light coming through side windows at night; need blinds.
- Juan Carlos (10/5): el lugar perfecto para ver las auroras - We had a great stay! The place was very clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The bedroom was super comfortable, the living room and TV were great, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We really appreciated the little details that made us feel at home.
The location was peaceful and private, and on our second night we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights right from the yard — an unforgettable experience!
Highly recommended, we would definitely stay here again.
- Sharon (10/5): If I ever come to Yellowknife again, this is the only place I will choose to stay. Irreplaceable! - The B&B is super cozy and comfortable. Very nicely designed. The food and drink prepared for us are very thoughtful and delicious. The location is great and we had the best Aurora view right outside our door on the lake shore. Blair responded to our questions and special requests (late checkout and left our luggage behind) in no time. Everything is just wonderful! Absolutely nothing!
- John (9/5): A charming B&B on the Slave Lake with perfect viewing for the Northern Lights. - Hosts were very friendly, provided some extra nibbles too that were very much appreciated.
Great view of the lake to wake up to and a jetty to sit out on to watch the aurora borealis (saw it each night I was there and the jetty was nice and dark to aid this).
The B&B was located in the Old Town which was a little away from the City hub, this was not a negative for me as the area had a charm and there was a great coffee shop and eatery only 6 minutes walk away. Enjoyed it all
- Lisa (9/5): Yellowknife is a beautiful town and we would stay there again. - Great location/ lovely place I didn’t like a single thing.
- David (10/5): We did not stay, the owner is awesome though. - Although we arrived at this property but we did not stay. Due to an unknown system error, the owner did not expect our arrival, so that no room is ready for us. We appreciate the owner, Blair woke up at mid-night and let us in, explained the situation, booked and paid Explore Hotel for us to stay, and paid a taxi for us to get there. The situation could be worse what if the owner was not in the property when we arrived at middle of nowhere after midnight. Owner's quick solution is above and beyond. It's still a myth that our reservation was messed up that the owner thought we cancelled our booking. Although the payment was confirmed 10 days before our arrival. I hope it will not happen to anyone.
- Seung (10/5): Perfect staying in B&B - Breakfast provided in the kitchen was delicious and various. Breakfast includes bread, milk, juice, fruits, butter, etc
B&B was super warm in winter , so we could sleep without any blanket.
Spacious room was great and the view from the window was beautiful.
Bathroom and room was super clean.
You can walk down to the frozen lake just behind B&B at night and can watch Aurora !!!
That's the easy and amazing experience.
The host in B&B is very friendly and helps everything we need.
My daughter walked the host's dog (buddy^^) on the frozen lake. Nothing disappointing. Everything was perfect!
You never regret staying in this B&B.
If I come back to Yellowknife in the future, definitely I will stay in this B&B again.
- Alex (10/5): We had an amazing time and would have loved to stay longer! - The location was amazing, easy access for walking into town or onto the lake to see the northern lights. Very cozy, beautiful space with everything we could need; snacks, coffee, bath and TV to watch the football games of course. We were even offered some sticks and pucks to play hockey as we had brought our skates.
- Miriam (10/5): Fantastic! - Gorgeous location. Great attributes. Lovely hosts. Wonderful. Highly recommend.
- Douglas (6/5): Lakeside accom with a great view of the northern lights! - Location! Being on the lake was perfect and we were able to see the Aurora from our bnb! This is a unit below the main house so you could hear every movement of people upstairs.
- 하정 (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was fantastic. Blair & Andrea were so kind and thoughtful, and the view from the room was amazing. Highly recommended!
- Jongwook (10/5): Exceptional - It is wonderful place to have perfect vacation.
Very welcoming host and cozy place.
They helped our couple a lot.
Place is so amazing and cozy.
- Ngar (10/5): Highly recommended if you want to see the aurora. - Great breakfast, Great Location next to the Lake, the view is awesome, we can just walk to the dock outside the property to see the aurora. The property is clean and comfortable, the host is nice and helpful. Everything is perfect. Highly recommended if you want to see the aurora.
- James (9/5): Nice stay on a beautiful property near the old town - Beautiful lake view, close to the old town. Suite has mini kitchen which is really useful. It's a true B&B so you're sharing a house. However as far as B&Bs go this one is pretty good in this respect as you have a separate suite and the hosts respect your privacy.
- Hide (10/5): Wonderful - Everything is above our expectation and perfect. Among others Hospitality of the owner is super good and we really enjoyed our stay there. Weather was not very nice during our stay but of course it has nothing to do with this facility.
- H (8/5): Very good -
- Jubilant (9/5): Superb -
- Zachary (10/5): Exceptional - Hosts were wonderful. Very helpful for arrival instructions, and the suite was beautiful! That we couldn't stay longer
- Kimberly (10/5): Youll absolutely love it. - Everything was wonderful. Great options for breakfast, fully equipped kitchen and more, and a unique view. The king bed was wonderfully comfortable. The BnB truly felt like a vacation in and of itself The bathroom features a gorgeous claw foot tub but there wasn't ever enough hot water to be able to enjoy it. May have been the time of year (-30 temperatures)
- Sisse (10/5): Exceptional - We just LOVED everything about this stunning B&B. So cosy, romantic and you have a whole apartment not just a room. And the views are worldclass and you can walk directly out on the frozen lake from the garden and see stunning Auroras
Highoy recommended and we would love to come back
- Alan (10/5): Amazing accommodation and Auroras. - Breakfast food provided, made our own, excellent choice of food. Everything was excellent.
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Krupa (8/5): Very good -
- William (10/5): Exceptional - The property is well located on Great Slave Lake with easy access to the downtown via $10 taxi ride. The Hosts were extremely helpful. You will not regret choosing this property
- Ro&jo (9/5): Gorgeous location, spectacular view, warm, spacious and comfortable room - The location in Old Town was superb. It was a beautiful, quiet area, lovely homes and walking distance to great food options - and we had a gorgeous view and access to the lake. Our hosts provided special touches that made our stay comfortable and were very friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this BnB.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional experience - will definitely return! - Everything about Great Slave Lake B&B was exceptional! The place was modern, yet quaint and cozy. We had an amazing view of the snow-covered trees and frozen lake. It honestly felt like something out of a storybook. It had everything we needed and Andrea & Blair were extremely helpful and friendly. They answered all our questions about local tourist companies, activities and restaurants to try, and even went out of their way to get us a AAA battery that we needed. Unfortunately, we were unable to see the northern lights (the sole purpose of our trip), but we do not regret the overall experience. If we ever revisit Yellowknife, we will absolutely book this place again! can't think of anything
- Carolyn (10/5): We had high expectations for Great Slave Lake and Yellowknife - they were exceeded many times over. - Great location on frozen lake - we could walk out onto the lake and see the northern lights. Hosts were kind, helpful and super knowledgeable - communication was excellent. Space was as described - warm and cosy in extreme temperatures. Nothing
- Stefanie (10/5): Exceptional - It was perfect. Directly at the lake, the accomodation was awesome, the host were super friendly and very helpful.
- Jcat_chen (10/5): A super comfortable stay in a -36°C weather. Andrea & Blair are great hosts. - I like everything in this B&B: large room, lake view from window, super comfortable bed, nice kitchen with foods, luxury hot tub and friendly hosts....... nothing.
- Joshua (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gerald (10/5): A wonderful place to stay. -
- Daniel (10/5): Wow. A diamond find. - Everything was amazing, not an over exaggeration. This place is under rated. The host goes above and beyond to make your stay everything you could ask for. Nothing! It really was perfect.
- Bloomer (8/5): Good place overall. - We liked the B&B. It was clean and we loved being
close to the water! We were even able to kayak
right off the dock! We didn’t get to meet the couple that runs the B&B.
We would have loved to learn a bit about them and
Yellowknife.
