Guest Reviews

- Heinz (8/5): Alles OK - Die Lage sehr gut. Alles ok

- Maiju (9/5): - Old really homey and cozy building, it has charm. Comfortable beds. Good communication with the host, everything worked out fine. We were the only guests so had the whole place to ourselves.
- Rene (9/5): A lovely, old-fashioned pension - A traditional Swiss house and rooms kept in this style. Old-fashioned, but very nice. Common area with free coffee. There was no additional charge for my dog Bathroom a bit small, no breakfast option.
- Gerhard (8/5): -
- Eva (8/5): It was very nice big room, when the lady saw that we have a baby she gave us different room with huge bed. - How authentic it was. As it is old building you can hear everyone. We had small baby so we were bit scared that we would disturb everyone.
- Parisa (8/5): Very good -
- Meagan (8/5): Lovely guesthouse in good location. - Beautiful guest house with so much history!! Beautiful old wood furniture. It all felt very Swiss and historic. Easy check in and check out. Easy walk to a fantastic restaurant for dinner (we ate there both evenings it was so delicious). We used this location as a point to go all around the region. It is on a main road. And the back of the property hasn’t been looked after so much (looks very run down).
- Irina (7/5): Good - The house is really interesting. You can feel there is a story in each room, there is even a book written about the place. The sheets are clean and the beds are comfy. The bathroom is an improvisation (room 3), there is a shower curtain and the water runs straight on the floor. Also if you are a bit taller I believe it’s a bit uncomfortable to stay here. Anyways, it’s great for a short stay only, in my opinion. The kitchen has no sink, so plan accordingly if you have some things to cook or prepare. A bit scary to walk around the house during the night.
- John (10/5): Beautiful location. Quiet and serene - Beautiful location. Quiet and serene. Interesting in every way. Like a nice slice of the past. I would stay there again.
- Valentin (9/5): Superb -
- Moody (8/5): Old Swiss charm - Lovely old building, quaint nicely-furnished rooms. The owner/staff were available at the right times and very helpful. I was even allowed to use their washing machine and dryer, since we were on a 3 week tour and I asked where I could find a launderette. The WiFi was reliable. There is a small but good supermarket literally a stone's throw away with a good bakery inside, so finding breakfast was easy. The breakfast room had a fridge plus coffee machine/kettle. Gorgeous location. Would stay again for short break. The shower cubicles were too short - my tall (~6ft11in) son really struggled as he couldn't stand up straight and decided to wait for the next hotel rather than have a second shower. For two nights it was fine but any more would not have worked for this reason alone, sadly. Finally, they could do with more plates and bowls in the breakfast room.
- Ani9sid (10/5): Exceptional - I have never stayed in such an amazing guesthouse in my life. It was like we were taken back in time. The host was amazing, the way she explained the history of the place made it very interesting. The room was very cozy, the overall house was beautiful. Also the area is very pretty, you could hike up to the hills. We wish we were there for more days. Definitely would love to stay there again Getting food is a bit of an issue as the restaurants around the place weren't open by the time we reached ( we reached later than expected). The kitchen in the guesthouse has some kitchen equipment , so if you give some food with you , you can easily cook them there(microwave)
- Francesco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (8/5): Very good - You need to look beyobd
the junk at the front door and get upstairs before taking a view of the place. It's actually lovely with lots of charm. Nice to have a sunny sitting area too. We had two rooms for our family...our room was lovely with view over looking garden. Everything was clean and comfortable. Excellent value for Switzerland. All good
- Francesco (9/5): Superb - All of the house and the personell
- Chris (9/5): Comfortable stay at an excellent price. Ideal for hikers (like me) on the Jakobsweg!! - Central location. comfortable room at a very good price. Restaurant was closed on the date I chose but there was opportunity to prepare food in a communal kitchen/dining area.
- Antun (10/5): Exceptional - If you are into history, as I am, you will Love this place. Over 200 years old, full of details, old wooden chests and furniture, clocks, paintings..Like a trip to history.
Great host, great coffee, really nice place. If you are very tall, and I am over 2 meters, you will not be able to stand up straight in the rooms. Other than that, perfect.
- Mila (10/5): Exceptional - The place is lovely -200 hundred years old house, nicely decorated, very spacious and clean. we parked in front of it. Our host was a lovely stand woman. There is a bakery nearby. Saint Gallen and Appenzell are very close, which make the location very convenient if you are on a roar trip as we were. nothing
- Ian (9/5): Great Gästehaus in Schönengrund - Lovely historic old coaching inn. Perfect location, friendly, excellent English, excellent breakfast, excellent value for money, ample parking. Would stay again. Recommended. Some traffic noise in a front room, but very quiet at the back.
