• Lara (10/5): all the stars. absolutely delightful in all ways - what a gem! everything about this place was excellent! from the communication ahead of time, to check in, to check out, everything was wonderful. Natalie and her partner are so welcoming and enthusiastic, the property is so clean, well landscaped and beautiful, and the location is amazing if you want to be near the beach, but not in the hectic atmosphere of the city. it's very easy to find and not too far of a drive from lots of activities, restaurants, and the beach (there is a small village even closer than tamarindo where there are a few tiendas and a bar as well). the rooms are spacious and so clean, the grounds are simply beautiful, and when you go to the pool you wish you hadn't made any plans to go elsewhere. if you are traveling with companions and need 3 rooms - it's even better! my sisters and i each had a cabana and it was like we had our own slice of paradise - howler monkeys can be heard in the morning and at night, if there are thunderstorms, the porches are incredible places to watch the lightning and be dry. of the 7 places i stayed on this trip, this was by far my favorite! i expected it would be nice based on photos and reviews, but it even exceeded my expectations! the warmth and hospitality from Natalie and her partner made it even better. Merci, gracias, thank you! i truly have no complaints or suggestions. my only regret is that of all the places i stayed, i spent the least time actually being at this property!

Le logement était au dela de nos attentes, nichés au milieu d'une nature incroyable avec tous les services necessaires. Le petit déjeuner est un moment de convivialité et nos hôtes sont au petit soins. Le calme, la vue magnifique où que l'on soit dans le domaine, la piscine, la nature, les singes, papillons, oiseaux, tout était formidable. Un grand merci a Nathalie et Yannick qui sont l'âme de ce domaine et qui nous ont permis de vivre un merveilleux sejour. En fait une seule chose, nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps !! :)

We thought it was good value and a nice end to our trip. Could use a sliding/barn door for the bathroom and some bedside tables.

We even had some howler monkeys to greet us upon arrival. I would highly recommend. I really loved the property and our stay. If pushed, I’d say that bathroom and toilet lacked a little privacy by their open design.

The cozy wooden cabins were beautifully furnished and set right in the heart of nature. The lovingly designed grounds featured a stunning infinity pool with breathtaking views. The breakfast was exceptionally delicious, and the warm, welcoming hosts made us feel like part of the family. A truly unforgettable experience!

• Dawn (10/5): Tranquility, relaxation, and beauty... what's not to like! - Everything about our stay was absolutely outstanding! Our hosts were both amazing, friendly, and personable. The breakfasts each morning were delicious and just the right amount of food. Although we love ourselves a great pour over coffee, which was served in the traditional Costa Rican way, my husband found himself enjoying the delicious and rich hot chocolate instead. Our room was stunning, well appointed, and absolutely spotless! The bed was so comfortable, and we would rate their shower the best compared to all of the many other places we have stay at in CR. The grounds were immaculate, and the infinity pool, don't even get me started. We floated in there and watched the howler monkeys move from tree to tree, until they were literally surrounding us! They stayed for a day before moving on to another location. As soon as we left, my husband was already trying to figure out when we can visit here again! We literally loved everything, there was nothing to dislike!

This place is perfect for couples, or anyone looking to get away and enjoy a tranquil setting. We loved the howler monkeys that can often be seen overhead.

For starters, the place is very safe and upon arrival, you’re greeted by Natalie and her husband who were a delight. I highly recommend this place for you and your significant other.

If we're back in this part of the world, we'll definitely stay again. Not that big a deal, but note that the rooms are very open concept so you don't get privacy if you need to use the restroom.

There are 3 cabins located inside beautiful tropical garden where you can enjoy jungle sounds. Cabins are very clean and nicely decorated .Pool is very clean with nice view on mountains .Hotel grounds maintained perfectly .Breakfast is delicious .Highly recommended .Would definitely return to this heaven on earth.Merci from Sergey and Olga!
• Shaleen (10/5): we will be back! - It is so beautiful and peaceful! Natalie and Yannick are very kind and helpful. We loved every bit of our stay there! The road, depending on which route you take can be an adventure, but we even loved that, including the small creek crossings! We had howler monkeys sleep above our little cabin and woke up to their vocal activity, which was incredible!! We absolutely loved our stay! nothing at all!

• Sulislawa (10/5): The only 10 we have ever rated place! - This is our favourite place that we stayed in during our trip in Costa Rica. We regret it was only one night, but it was fantastic. The lodge is spacious, with a comfy bed, everything very very clean and pleasant to the eye. Beautiful garden, delicious breakfast. They have a small swimming pool, but it’s extremely clean and I probably spent around 2-3 hours swimming in it in total. At night we could observe stars straight from the pool and it was amazing. The road is a little bit challenging, especially the last bit, but I wouldn’t consider it as a negative point if you have a SUV.

• Samara (10/5): Magnificent break from reality that will perfectly complement your time in Costa Rica! - We had such a lovely stay at Baliyana lodge. This place is a gem and Nathalie and Yannick are wonderful and helpful hosts. The accommodations are serene and beautiful, nestled in a quiet location surrounded by the jungle and the sounds of playful monkeys. At night, you can see all the stars in the galaxy from the stunning infinity pool and the garden grounds. The drive to get there can be a bit off-putting at first but you will quickly get used to it (maybe don't plan your first arrival for night and reserve an SUV). The WI-FI is weak and there are no TVs in sight, so plan to sign off completely and be intentionally and mindfully in the moment. You won't regret it. This is honestly the best place to do that, with a lovely and delicious curated breakfast in the morning. The lodge may seem remote but there are beautiful beaches and a few delicious restaurants a short drive away - Playa Avellanas and Il Rustico were our favourite. Tamarindo is a very doable 20 minute drive away. Do not hesitate to book this as your Costa Rican Pacific beach accommodations. Nothing. Plan accordingly. The lodge is located in nature so plan to see some bugs (we had a massive grasshopper greet us on our deck every night :) ). Also, as said Wi-Fi is weak so this is not an ideal space for a working vacation. Be prepared to unwind completely in this beautifully crafted space.

• Jessica (10/5): Beautiful place for a romantic getaway. - A great place to stay for a romantic getaway. Beautiful, well-designed, clean, with tremendous attention to detail. The rooms had everything one would need for a short stay (good shower, comfy bed, A/C & fan, mini fridge, small safe, coffee & tea kettles, coat racks, etc). Pool: views were incredible, water was clean, poolside lounge chairs & shade & tables). Garden impeccable and beautiful. As people who've traveled a decent amount, it's rare to see one place get so many things right. The breakfast food was the only part that we feel was noticeably lacking. The bulk of the meal was in white toast, and very little of substance (a small amount of scrambled eggs, and a bit of refried beans).
• Annika (10/5): Absolutely beautiful - We really enjoyed our stay at Baliyana Lodge! The owners were super nice and we really felt like home. The view from the small pool is amazing!! We even spot monkeys whilst swimming. We will definitely come back when we are in Costa Rica again!! Everything was great! Just one thing which is important to know is that it is very hard to reach the place without a rental car. However when you have your own car it’s no problem to get to the nearby town for food or to the beautiful beaches.

• Michiel (10/5): Beautifully located bungalows! - Beautifully located in the middle of the jungle with great jungle view from the infinity pool. Spacious and nicely decorated bungalow. Good breakfast, also with the jungle view. Well maintained. Friendly owners, that can give good advice for restaurants. The owners are originally French, so English is sometimes a bit difficult for them, but that was not all something we disliked and not at all reason to give this perfect location less than a 10.
• Philipp (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional stay! The condos are super nice and comfortable, clean and pretty much new. The pool has an amazing view and the garden is very well maintained with an occasional visit of monkeys. The breakfast is good and prepared individually every morning. The hosts are super nice and welcoming to lend a helping hand if you need it!
• Stefanie (9/5): Beautiful stay, wonderful hosts - Nathalie & Yannick are AMAZING hosts. The breakfast they prepared was delicious. They had lots of local recommendations and even put us in touch with a turtle hatchery which led to us seeing over 40 baby turtles take their first steps into the ocean. It was truly once in a lifetime for us! The property is a beautiful jungle oasis, very well landscaped, and a great place to watch wildlife. The villas are modern, comfortable, and super ascetic. This could have been our mistake, but we expected the property to be closer to Tamarindo. The road was not in great condition and we felt nervous in our SUV with 4x4. It’s roughly 30 minutes on a dirt road. We were in rainy season, so I assume it was worse than usual, but lots of mud and potholes. It is worth it for the beautiful jungle views though.
