• Diego (2/5): I am extremely disappointed in their lack of planning. - The location is what drew my girlfriend and I to book here, unfortunately we were not allowed entry after hours. There simply was no key or way to get in, even though it was confimed to us via text and video, that the key would be on/near the door. The house was closed off and lights were off, and they did not answer our text or calls due to them being asleep. There was no way to get into the room, and everyone was already asleep, so at 11pm, after traveling all day, had to book another hotel 20 minutes away for 3x the price.

• Neeraj (10/5): Great place at a reasonable price - We had an early morning flight at 5 AM so we were looking for a place close to the airport. This place exceeded our expectations since the bedroom and bathroom were spacious and modern. An additional room serving as kitchen and dining room. Plenty of parking. Check-in and check-out process was very smooth and host was very welcoming. We could not try out the breakfast because of our flight timing. This place is a little harder to find so having access to Google maps is helpful.

• Gregory (10/5): Great place, nice and easy. - stay was easy and breakfast was good. We enjoy staying with this host, this is our 3rd visit. The gounds and surronding area is very nice oasis.

• Filip (8/5): - Grote kamer, goede bedden. Aangename en goed werkende douche. Super handige locatie vlakbij de luchthaven. Een über aan 9 euro gereserveerd om naar de luchthaven te gaan. In de badkamer vonden we haren van vorige gasten. De airco maakt verschrikkelijk veel lawaai 's nachts, waardoor slapen moeilijk wordt. Kitchenette aanwezig, maar geen vaat- en handdoeken aanwezig. De ontvangst vonden wij eerder koel el erg zakelijk.

We stayed in Apt. 1 and it was very clean and comfortable for our quick overnight stay before catching an early flight at the Airport close by. Would highly recommend for travelers coming/going to/from the Airport. Since we had to catch our taxi at 3:00 am, the host said to just leave the room key in the door so no tedious check-out which was nice! Nothing. It met our needs perfectly!

For a couple you could easily share the paid breakfast. Very nice small yard. There will be some airplane noise, but we arrived so late it did not matter.

• Kirsten (10/5): Excellent stay very close to airport, super safe, clean and family-friendly. - Super close to the airport, very convenient for an overnight stop arriving or departing from SJO. The owner is incredibly kind and informative. I have stayed there several times in the last several years and will continue to return if I travel to Costa Rica again. The proximity to the airport is associated with ambient noise with airplanes flying over, so for some that may be bothersome. We were tired enough that we could sleep through the airplane noise.

• Wolfgang (6/5): Für eine Nacht ok! - Der Flughafen ist in perfekter Nähe. Die Unterkunft wäre eigentlich wirklich sehr toll, wenn da nicht einige Unannehmlichkeiten wären. Die bungalowartigen Gebäude sind in sehr gutem Zustand aber in einem abgesperrten Ghetto im Irgendwo. Rausgehen ist nicht ratsam weil dunkel und vor allem absolut nichts los. Kein Geschäft, kein Restaurant, kein Irgendwas! Außerdem ist Schlafen erst relativ spät möglich, weil die Flugzeuge bei Start oder Landung gefühlt durchs Zimmer fliegen. Außerdem hatten wir in dieser einen Nacht gleich 3 Stück sehr große Kakerlaken im Zimmer. Also Koffer und Augen zu und durch! (Habe sie natürlich alle gekillt) Definitiv die Gegend, man ist eingesperrt! Wir waren nur die letzte Nacht vor unserem Heimflug in dieser Unterkunft, insofern war es OK.

The convenient location near the airport makes it impossible not to hear planes through the night. It wasn’t horrible but it was throughout the night. The place was a bit dated and tired.

• Reinhold (9/5): Gerne wieder - Die Lage zum Flughafen ist hervorragend. Kleine gepflegte Straße mit Einfamilienhäusern. Die Straße ist über ein Eingangstor abgesichert. Viele Autovermieter haben ihr Büro in unmittelbarer Nähe. Man kann aber auch in der Unterkunft selbst Autos mieten. Es kommen regelmäßig Flugzeuge im Anflug recht dicht und etwas laut über das Haus, aber das ist der Preis der Flughafennähe.

Hatte aber dadurch auch seinen ganz eigenen Charme. Wir mussten sehr früh raus und konnten das reguläre Frühstück nicht wahrnehmen. Ein Angebot zur Mitnahme wäre schön gewesen.

We rented the “small room” on our first and last night in Costa Rica which was a separate little bungalow and much more spacious than the description or pictures indicate. It even had a little kitchenette and a sitting area right outside.

Good hot water for okay shower. No window in bathroom so anxious about midges. Uncomfortable bed and not warm enough although I did find a blanket.

• Constance (9/5): Comfortable, spacious room in great location near the airport was a good value. - Great location, friendly staff. We were later arriving and hungry so the staff found someone to make dinner for us, which we greatly appreciated. Room was spacious and comfortable. I don't know that there is anything to do about the noise because it is, after all, near the airport. And the other loud noises were the calls of a grey-cowled wood rail, which is just a really loud bird!

Fredelig sted sentralt og fint. Veldig rent og fint. Familie på fem som ble godt tatt i mot den ene natten vi var der. Veldig hyggelig vert som kjørte oss gratis til sted fornå hente leiebil fordi det ble rot med sein landing med flyet. Koselig og fin liten frokost. Lite sted dette. Personlig og fint. Lite å klage på. Standarden var helt ok.

Since we were stranded several days because of a winter storm in the US, The manager, Meyling, went above and beyond to make our extended stay comfortable. The owner was also extremely helpful. • Edward (6/5): Small front door patio shared by 3 units becomes very, very noisy. - Location Very, very noisy. 3 units share one small patio. We were unable to fall asleep because of the noise from the other tenants of either side of us. I had to go outside and ask them to be quiet. They did and then about 1 1/2 hr into our sleep they woke us up with being overly loud again and I had to exit out of our unit again and ask them to be quiet.

• Lisa (10/5): More charm than an airport hotel but close to the airport. Uber will cost $30! To get there. - Very close to the airport. Not a big hotel company. Quiet little casita tucked away in a tropical garden. Staff/owners were super nice. It was hard for the taxi to find because it is behind a locked gate. So, we drive around for a while before figuring it out. Bring instructions for the taxi driver in Spanish! Likewise, when I was leaving I had to walk out to the gate. The uber was almost $30 from the airport even though it is just a few minutes away. It would have been great if the hosts could have added a pick up option for $20 to avoid the location confusion and reduce cost. With the $30 ride it may have been same cost and more convenient to stay in an airport hotel with a shuttle… although definitely without the charm of the casa Airbnb.

• Melissa (10/5): A quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and friendly place to rest and refuel close to the SJO airport. - Our stay here was too short - we arrived after 9 p.m. and left at 7:50 a.m. The location right by the airport was very convenient, as we were arriving late at night. The grounds were quiet, peaceful, beautiful, and safe. The continental breakfast the next morning was lovely. We were hoping to have the tico breakfast, but didn't have time because of our rental car shuttle; it smelled amazing! One thing that was a surprise (but not necessarily a con) was that we had to pay for the room (and extra purchases) in cash - glad we had cash on hand, because I didn't expect that!
