- Cruiser822888 (10/5): Great week at Brack for Oktoberfest!! - What a wonderful stay at the Hotel Brack. It was extremely convenient to access Oktoberfest (5 min walk), and the subway station was literally only steps from the front door, making it perfect for exploring the rest of the city. Only 30 min stroll down to old town if you prefer to walk. Most importantly though the staff were phenomenal. Frank was a delight throughout the stay and booking process. Gina, Ibrahim and Jonathan were extremely pleasant and helpful, able to address any needs we had (thanks Gina for the Paulaner dinner suggestion!!). Breakfast was great and the restaurant staff very friendly. I Can't say enough good about this place! Only suggestion is to bring earplugs as there were a lot of sirens going by the week we were there, likely more of an issue during Oktoberfest. Thanks Frank and team and see you next time!!

Beim Frühstück wurde auf meine Extra-Wünsche (Thomate und Gurke statt Wurst und Käse) eingegangen. Somit hatte ich ein vorzügliches Frühstück zu einem mehr als angemessenem Preis. Es gibt von Allem reichlich, mit einem Lächeln serviert. Herzlichen Dank an Alle, ich komme gerne wieder!

- Edithmathilde (2/5): Not recommended - This hotel is definitely not worth the rating it’s given online. Trits very old, small rooms, small bathroom and everything just out dated. When I started there it was hot outside but could not open window and road was too noisy. Rooms smells of smoke as well. Breakfast is nothing to rave about.
- Leilaexploring (8/5): Good choice in Munich - Three subway stops from Marienplatz (about 6 min), kind people, good breakfast included, very clean room, good wifi. I really appreciated the kindness of people. The breakfast is served, you have options with eggs, bread, jam, honey, fruit salad, cappuccino, yogurt, muesli, coffee, tea, and you can ask for more if you like. Very good level of cleanliness. Easy to reach from the city center, I was able to go back to the room if needed and then back again to the city center. The surroundings do not offer much but this hotel is a good quality/price compromise.

- annmarieb278 (8/5): Great location with parking - Stayed here 1 night with 3 adults in a triple room. Chose it for the location with parking and it did not disappoint! Easy to get around. Breakfast was included and great! It was sit-down instead of a typical buffet, but still just as quick as a buffet and we were able to have freshly made omelettes.
- 588jeza (6/5): Old fashioned hotel get the basics right but room for improvement - Rather old fashioned hotel which seems to have got a bit left behind when compared to other hotels in the area. Positives are clean rooms, comfortable beds, 24hr reception with helpful staff and decent times for breakfast if you want a lie in. Negatives are basic rooms with no tea or coffee making facilities, traffic noise, limited choice at breakfast and the hotel corridors smell of smoke.
- GemmaS2324 (8/5): Retro hotel - Abit of a mixed review on this hotel, its retro/old style ( my partner said it reminded him of his nans house... which hasnt been decorated for about 40 years) I didnt really mind that but it could maybe do with a few modern touches. There was though a faint smell of cigarette smoke throughout the hotel and the room which I'm assuming is because they used to allow smoking so it is all in the soft furnishing etc which wasnt that nice to be honest. Good points it is very clean and comfy beds. The breakfast is lovely and the staff are so nice, also it is in a really good location.. u-barn is right outside... tollwood christmas markets walking distance
- copperstategal (6/5): Better values elsewhere! Stuffy and needs a make-over. Keep searching! - The GOOD: RETRO style hotel, out of the '50's and '60's-great if that is your thing. Upon entering to check in, I thought "wow, cool" this looks like a "Retro Hotel". Check in was easy, room was ready for an early check in. Rooms were spotless, bathroom sparkling clean upon check-in, nice towels. OUTSTANDING BREAKFAST, no doubt about it! The dining staff was courteous but a bit up tight and harried. Location is great for metro access and walking to great sites however, dinner venues in the area are very scant-we walked blocks looking for something other than the excellent but expensive restaurant across the side street, or doner kebab take outs. There were a couple of pizza places but closed at the time. The BAD: The hotel is RETRO! ie. outdated in furnishings, safety features in bathrooms and amenities. The furniture in the rooms is dark and bland, as is the color scheme (there is none) though the bathroom had retro 50's looking tiles. A big concern was the bathroom fixtures! The stand up shower pan measured more or less 2 foot by 2.5 foot and is raised off the floor, it was slick as no texture for non-slip. I am an athletic 5'2", 130 lb. woman and as there are no grab bars to hold onto while getting into the closet size shower, I had to grab the shower valve. If you are at all disabled or handicapped or of a large size in height or weight, I advise asking about the shower set up or better: look at other properties. Maybe there are handicap rooms-I did not ask and won't assume. There is poor ventilation in the bathroom and as there is NO A/C nor ceiling fan in the room, it gets very warm and humid in there. Again-NO AIR CONDITIONING- -You are provided with a floor fan and one window that opens out onto a very noisy street! This makes the small cramped room even smaller in area. If you are coming during warm weather-I advise looking elsewhere for accomodations! The mattress was as firm as firm can be without being a wood plank. Great for those who like a super firm mattress. A top sheet should be provided since there is no A/C and you have the choice of no top cover while sleeping OR a cozy warm (too warm for summer) duvet. NO IN-ROOM KETTLE. If you enjoy a cuppa joe or tea upon rising or settling in, your option is going down to the breakfast room asking for a cup to go-(not so doable if they are harried!) or walk down the street to a cafe. As mentioned in another review of this hotel regarding housekeeping: we always tip our housekeepers well daily. In the four nights there, our drinking glasses were not replaced and the bathrooms not well cleaned. This should be done daily, especially at this price for lodging. I did not want to complain to the front desk, as I said-they are courteous but not overly friendly. Local eateries: see comment above. The UGLY: Smell of cigarette smoke permeates the stairwell and hallways beginning at 5 a.m.! Unacceptable. Strange as all rooms we passed by had non-smoking plaques on the doors. The indifferent: Staff was courteous and tolerant but I would not say overly friendly and welcoming. We did not get the feeling of a staff that goes out of their way in customer service or relationships. We really should have returned to the hotel we previously stayed in near the English Garden but had prepaid for four nights at the Brack. Far too many nights in this hotel. I think this hotel is suited for business personnel coming for a night or two, but for tourism, one can do much better at a better price elsewhere. KEEP SCROLLING!
- iberostarnightmare (6/5): Pros and Cons for Hotel Brack - This hotel had some very positive parts to it but overall deserves a poor rating for cost vs. value. First the pros! This hotel is centrally located. Close to transit as well as other places. The breakfast may be the best I've had on our trip in Germany. Very friendly staff who try hard to be helpful. This is great. Now for the cons! If you are traveling with small children or a lot of luggage, the elevator only goes to the 4th floor and holds maybe two people with one small case of luggage. If you are staying on the 5th floor there is no lift that goes that high. We carried large bags up the last flight. They state there is free parking but that is not true. You are asked to deposit 50 EURO to get a "parking pass". They will give you this back when you check out but there is literally NO PARKING at the hotel. You have to find a spot somewhere on the road as there are only like 5 spots available at the hotel. This is a problem again if you are traveling by car with small children. The rooms are dated (no AC, no iron or ironing board, no coffee in room) and it gets hot on the 5th floor. So ... crack open those windows. Oh, wait we are next to the police station or so it seems as there are sirens that blare all night long and if the windows are open because it's hot and there is no AC you will get no sleep. Last night 9 sirens throughout the evening. I stopped counting after that ... there may have been more. Lastly, we left a nice tip 4 Euro for our cleaning lady today. She did the beds but didn't even give us new glasses for our room. Left our used glasses. Seems shoddy. Overall for the price I would skip this place next time even though the omelettes are amazing.
- Phil__cleeve (10/5): Very good hotel - We recently spent 2 nights at the Hotel Brack. The room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The staff evidently take pride in the hotel and this was particularly evident in the Breakfast Room, where we enjoyed the delicious omelettes. All the staff in reception were particularly helpful, providing us with U Bahn tickets and good advice. The only downside is the limited amount of onsite parking, although the hotel does have an arrangement with a local parking garage. However as the hotel is only 50 metres away from a U Bahn station you will have no need to use your car while staying at the hotel which is only 3 stops away from Marienplatz. When returning to Munich I would not stay anywhere else.
- Gordon_SingSco (8/5): Friendly, good value and well located hotel - Stayed one night. Really friendly staff and clean rooms. The breakfast is really generous and serving late, evening during the weekday. U-bahn is next door and overall the hotel is very well situated and good value. Rooms are a little old-fashioned but in perfect order.
- Kristian_Stern (8/5): Bit old-fashioned, but reasonably priced - Just two metro stations away from Munich city center, hot breakfast included (pleasantly surprised), free parking, reasonable per night room rate, very clean rooms and bathroom. One may considers rooms bit oldfashion, but it is bearable. One thing which kinda bothered me, thus minus 1 start, was bit of weird smell in the entrance lobby. Rooms are definitely non-smoking, but maybe they allow smoke in the lobby? Dont know.. Anyways, would consider staying again once in Munich for business again.
