- Amanda (10/5): - Clean and spacious rooms with microwave and fridge. Short, easy walk (5 mins) to Keiso skyliner airport train and another couple of minutes to ueno station. Plenty of shopping, markets, kombini and food options within 5 minutes too. We loved ueno in general and would stay in this area and at this hotel again. There is a public bath if you want to give that a go too.

- Yuxiang (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at &Here Tokyo Ueno. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just steps away from subway stations, the Narita Skyliner, and Ueno Park, making it easy to get around and explore the city. The surrounding area is filled with shopping and dining options, and convenience stores are right nearby for quick needs. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which made the experience even more welcoming. Our 3 beds room located on the 9th floor was surprisingly spacious, very clean, and quiet — perfect for resting after a busy day in Tokyo.
- Rachel (6/5): - Hotel was decent but not very flexible with check-in and out. Area around the hotel is busy with lot of “clubs” and bars. Probably not too safe to walk around in the night without being hustled.
- UNA (10/5): - We had a fantastic stay at &here hotel in Ueno. The location was excellent—just a short walk to JR, Chiyoda, and Ginza lines, making it super convenient for getting around Tokyo, directly to and from Narita airport on the Keisei Skyliner. It is situated at a location surrounded by convenient stores and restaurants. It is also just across the street of the beautiful Ueno park. The hotel itself is new, modern, and very clean. Our room 901 was quiet, everything in working order. We had a very restful sleep during our stay. Cleaning service is not provided daily, however, garbage is cleaned out and clean towels are provided daily, which is more than sufficient for us. An extension to my partner, Stephan's review on Google. A special mention goes to Do at the front desk. His level of customer service was outstanding—he went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect when we checked in. Truly some of the best hospitality we've experienced. Thank you. Another highlight was the public bath on the top floor, which overlooked the pond at the Ueno park. It was such a relaxing and unique bonus. We highly recommend this hotel and looking forward in staying at &here again the next time we will be in Tokyo.
- Raisa (8/5): - Quieter area of Ueno, right by Ueno Park. Also less than 10 mins from a metro station. New hotel, clean, lots of amenities provided. We got the triple bed with bunk - it was spacious and there was a mini kitchen too which was nice. Would stay here again!
- Azusa (10/5): - It was busy street behind the building but it was very peaceful front side because of ueno park.
- Xiaoli (4/5): - The hotel is at a good location and clean. The room is very small. We tried to check in 1.5 hours earlier than scheduled but was told that have to pay 9400 JPY for the that even if they already have room available. No spring water is provided. There is water fountain and vendor machine at the 2nd floor.
- Victoria (8/5): - Exceptional staff at the front desk. They shared a warm welcome upon our arrival, provided helpful recommendations and offered lovely sentiments upon our departure. The building is “open air” on floors 2 and above, which means no air conditioning in the hallways to rooms. Rooms are air conditioned. This design imbues a unique ambiance with the gentle rumblings from the street below. The location is close to exciting sites like Akihabara, Ginza and Tokyo station. Lots to see and do. There’s an interesting shopping district a 3-minute walk away with many food and shopping options. For families, my only concern is the street behind hotel had a lot of bars during our visit (summer 2025) that did not feel safe/smart to walk down at night. Also the streets surrounding were strewn with garbage throughout our stay.

The staff was great, the rooms are spacious and clean and it is right in front of the park, so we could go for a run in the morning, as well as admiring the view from our window. It's very well connected with buses and metro lines - the shinkansen also stops at Ueno so it's a good location. Plenty of food options around and uber eats delivery. We will definitely come back again.
- Sarah (10/5): - The property was well placed and very interesting in its construction with open corridors. It is directly opposite the park which houses the zoo and the museums as well as temples. The hotel itself had a rooftop onsen too. Our room was spacious with a full kitchenette. My daughter loved the bunk bed aspect! The hotel has its own cafe which was a good bonus. The quiet zen like hotel was a contrast to the busy Ueno streets and bars not far away. It is also only moments from Ameyocho shopping street and the Sanrio Garden cafe both of which were great for the final leg of our trip. I would definitely stay at otherwise &Here hotels.

- David (10/5): - Hotel location was great and convenient for the family during the day, however night time activity was more like a red light district with young women soliciting with signs. Other than the late evening activities, highly recommend this hotel and location!
- Michael (10/5): - The onsen on the 14th floor is so great with beautiful views. Wish I had gone there last year when we stayed there. Would stay again at &Here Ueno because we love the staff and area so much. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Upper floors with park view are the only way to go.

It was not suitable for 3 people as we barely had room to move. Furthermore, only two of the beds were made up and it took 4 different staff members to find out where the linen was for the third bed.
- Arnaldo (10/5): Nice hotel by Ueno!!! - Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Assisted with my Yamato luggage forwarding service. The room is small but very nice and all amenities are available. Laundry room available which was a big plus. Ueno park across the street was great for morning walks and runs. They also have morning movement sessions put on by park goers. Train stations within 8 minute walks. Highly recommend for the price.

- Stephanie (8/5): - We wanted a place that was easy to get to from the airport on our first night and this fit the bill. It’s a 5-10 minute walk from the Keisei Ueno Station (the keisei skyliner train is one hour from Narita airport). The room was a bit more generous than a typical Tokyo hotel and the bed was comfortable. Much appreciated the onsen on the top floor, which has a nice view of Ueno Park. My only complaint is that it was difficult to get the right temperature with the air conditioning and some areas of the hotel were sweltering, like the hallways, toilets and elevators. Note that I was there in July when the heat is really intense; I’m sure this wouldn’t be an issue at other times of the year. Overall a nice stay.

- Julia (10/5): Great stay in Tokyo - We loved our stay here. The lobby is nicely decorated and gives a relaxing feel. Love the mini garden that helps us forget about the hustle and bustle outside. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Breaking choices are limited but there are several convenient stores within walking distance. Having Ameyoko market nearby is great for shopping and dining out. We got the biggest room with a beautiful view of Ueno park. There was plenty of space for our family of 4 to spread out and all the amenities were useful. The only improvement we might suggest is having more laundry machines. Doing laundry was a challenge as it’s always full.

- Chia Wen (10/5): - We booked the western-Japanese family deluxe room. It was spacious and can comfortably fit 6 ppl with plenty of room to store luggage. The room was immaculately clean as is the rest of the property. Kitchenette had everything you’d need for meals. Our room overlooked Ueno park: such a lovely view! Great location: restaurants, bars, stores right around the corner. Even in the crazy heatwave we were easily able to walk to several train stations. Amenities such as laundry machine and onsen were great bonuses!

- Erin (10/5): - This hotel was quiet, clean, and in a great location in Ueno. The staff was so accommodating and helpful. The back entrance does lead you into a street in the red light district but it was completely safe and we walked down it every night to get back to the hotel with our baby and never had any issues. Would definitely stay here again!
- Alfredo (10/5): - Near Ueno park and Keisei Line. Near the metro as well. Amenities are good, spacious family rooms, cafe, laundry and a public onsen. The only take away is the back area of the hotel where clubs and pubs line up, you can simply get away by just using the front entry.

- Brenden (8/5): Pros and cons - Huge rooms especially for Tokyo standards, that looked out over beautiful Ueno park. The park side of the area was awesome, however the back of the hotel was a red light district and felt shady to walk down at night especially with the kids. It was difficult to find a good place to eat around this area as most places you needed to be over 20 to be let in the door.

- Neville (10/5): - Hotel is well located, with a choice of train stations within 15 minutes walk. Staff were always friendly. Room was modern and a good size. Convenience stores are nearby, and not far to walk to shopping and restaurant area near main Ueno station.
- Corey (10/5): - The staff were amazing, very helpful with everything we needed. The area is also great, with many decent restaurants and shopping areas within a few blocks. Check out the yakitori restaurant directly across from the back door. Also check out the amazing park across the street from the front door. It has the best science museum I've seen, or at least right up there with the Smithsonian, Franklin Institute, and Exploratorium. There's a lake where you can rent a swan boat, or other paddle boats. During the week, it has vendors, some of them selling interesting and unique "junk". Warning: My wife and I got lost in the park on a rainy day, and it took us almost two hours to find our way back to the hotel. Caution to the sensitive: There are also many "red light" type places in the area. However, I never felt that the crowd was seedy, or that there was any danger.

The only one thing to be aware of is the entertainment streets behind the hotel which was not children friendly at night. Tons of options for food and steps away from Ueno Park, Ameyoko shopping street, and two train stations. Didn't try the public bath but it looked nice. We fully utilized the laundry room during our stay and never had to wait for a washer/dryer to be available. Highly recommend this property.

The hotel is new and beautiful, the employees are super kind and helpful and speak multiple languages, including Japanese, Spanish, and English, the rooms are spacious and the beds comfy. Coin laundry on site was super helpful. Note that Ueno is about a 30 minute Metro ride from some of the more popular areas like Shinjuku and Shibuya, but that also means less craziness!
- Kevin A (10/5): - Overall, the hotel is very western friendly and the room configurations are unique and actually beneficial for families as our kids really enjoyed the bunk beds. That said, it is important to note that there are A LOT of hostess bars located on the street outside the rear entrance to the hotel which feels a little less family friendly.
- Radu (10/5): Large room next of Ueno St. - Excelent stay, large room, soptless clean, separate shower and wc, sink in the room hallway. Only 30 breakfast/day available, so reserve in time!
- Chelsea (4/5): - This hotel is conveniently located next to Ueno Park and Keisei Station which is why I booked it. Unfortunately I got a room facing the alley in the back which apparently people stay up and party until 5am and you can hear EVERYTHING through the closed window. Would not book this hotel again due do this. Came on vacation with my husband and without our kid and we actually slept worse at this hotel than at home. As far as staff goes all were very friendly and attentive.

- isaac (10/5): - I loved this property!! Felt like home for 4 days. It was in a “quieter” area across the street from Ueno park. The onsen was great. New, clean, rooftop views of the lake. There is a cafe on ground floor that offers free coffee in morning to guests. Great Korean food spot for dinner a couple storefronts away too. My family of 5 was happy and comfortable.
- Pik Kei (10/5): - We loved staying here. This is our second stay actually. It is clean and spacious. Very easy to get to from Narita Airport, and Ueno Park is just across. We get to stay on the higher floor this time and the view is excellent!

The area directly behind the hotel has a lot of girls bars and there were many girls and promoters standing out on the street at night. It was also a very dirty walk to the trains in the morning due to the number of bars around and trash on the street. There is a Lawson's and local grocery store very close by that is very convenient!

- Lai Wah (10/5): Nice stay - A pleasant stay at this hotel for one night. We picked &here because of its location. From Narita Airport, we chose to take the Skyliner to the Keisei Ueno Station and the hotel is about 10 mins walk from it. There are restaurants and shops within a short distance. The Superior Twin Room we stayed in was a bit smaller than expected.

- Boris (10/5): - For our 10-day stay in Japan, this was the first place we visited for 3 nights. This was by FAR the nicest place we stayed in during the trip, and the view of Ueno park was unbeatable. The in-hotel laundry made things easy, and the amenities with the cafe and public bath are the best. We really enjoyed the window-side built-in couch, dual bunk beds and luxurious bathroom to give us a great place to relax when we weren't out on the town. A very close walk to the Keisei skyliner or JR station, definitely easy to get around... even with the snow! Felt very safe and had unlimited food options in our surrounding area. Ueno park is such a nice place to explore with young children (9-10 years old). Will be staying here again!

- Kirsten (10/5): - We stayed in the room with the twin bunk beds. We have older kids and it allowed everyone to feel like they had their own space. The hotel was nice and quiet and extremely clean. Within a 10 minute walk or less were multiple train stops, places to eat and shop. There is laundry on site. Having a kitchen and table was extremely helpful, especially as we adjusted to Tokyo time. 7-11 and Family Mart close by to stock the fridge. The shower had amazing pressure. Having the park across the street helped create a more serene feel and view. A nice contrast to the city towers and lights we saw across the city. We enjoyed the pyjamas that were supplied during our stay. The only call out we had was that the centre space between the elevators and the room is open air. The kids liked it because they could open the door and know what the outside temperature was and how to dress before we left. We were there is March which had temperature swings which did make it helpful. Overall we were thrilled with the stay and would highly recommend the hotel to others.

- John (10/5): Great location, excellent and affordable stay - My adult daughter and I spent four enjoyable days at the hotel, and thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were very attentive, the room was very clean and cared for, and the lobby and coffee shop were well adorned. The location is the best, away from the hustle and bustle. But Ueno Station is down the street and one can get anywhere on a train or subway.
