Guest Reviews
Was ein“ No Go“ war, ein dreckiges Bettlaken!!
- Dorit (8/5): - Preis-Leistung ist stimmig
- pigoffphotography (2/5): Having a cigarette in a non smoking hotel... - Totally disappointed!
Me, my wife and our baby stayed for one night in the hotel last fall.
This is a non smoking hotel. At least that's what it says on the way in.
Apparently not.
There was a guest in the room next to us. This guy, I'm gonna call him "uncle Hans" was having a cigarette while he making a loud conversation on the phone. The smoke was going directly in our room. I talk to him personally and begged him to stop smoking and talking loud because we have a newborn baby in our room and we can't sleep because of him but...
Instead of being ashamed of the situation "uncle Hans" said to me that he don't understand me and told me f* off.
So I got and talked to the manager of the hotel. I told her:
You must do something about this! Otherwise I'm gonna ring the police.
You should move him to some other room because we were with a newborn, and it's gonna be difficult for us to move and the baby was just about to sleep.
And then... Nothing happens!
"Uncle Hans" is having another cigarette on the window.
This is happening in a civilised country. I couldn't believe this!
I got to talk to manager again and...
Do you know what she did?
She moved us.
I said: But we have a baby and it is complicated now?
She gave us a distant room.
OK! We moved.
But wait!
After 20min "uncle Hans" got another cigarette and than...
The fire alarm is ON. And it was loud in the whole hotel. I regretted that I didn't call the polis.
And then..
After 30min. FIRE ALARM is ON.
I can't believe it has happened to us in Germany. But Hey! People without sense of community exists. So...
The hotel is a little bit pricey for the comfort you get.
Stayed awake till 1:00h because of this stress.
- Cruiser06982850077 (6/5): Nice hotel - It was located in nice and calm area outside Weimar.but it was not so far from downtown from Weimar. It is very difficult to reach hotel without car.I could enjoy my stayingbut, toilet was too small to move and breakfast was simple
- Andrewb1984 (4/5): basic poor standard - First of all the 2nd bed was not made up. i don't want to sleep with my father.
Staff barely spoke any English,
no plug in the sink had to improvise and use a glass to have a shave. this seems to be a common problem in ibis hotels.
the shower got water all over the bathroom.
- alexandret540 (8/5): Basic hotel - delivers on value proposition - No much to say - just needed a place to stay overnight - was good enough for me. The hotel is "old" Etap style but no real issue as far as I am concerned. Good value proposition, in the middle of an industrial zone. Definitely utilitarian.
- SerenaY83 (2/5): Would not recommend this hotel - This is hotel is unlike any hotel I have stayed!
The location is in the middle of nowhere. No restaurant within walking distance.
At the entrance, there is a kiosk for checking in. I have never seen this before. After several minutes struggling, I managed to check in, a room on the third floor.
After getting into the building, I looked for an elevator (duh! there is none). The room is small, as expected. But the sink is at the far corner of the room, and the bathroom is at the entrance to the room! Every time using the toilet, I had to walk across the room to wash my hands. Maybe the hotel/room designer was thinking that guest should walk across the room to wash their hands!
I booked the room for two, but our room has a bunk bed, which added a depressed feeling because the bunked upper bed is directly above our face. On its website, it has rooms with a two-person bed only. But we ended up with a room with bunk bed. Maybe the website thought people actually like to have another bed hanging two feet above their heads when sleeping.
I would never go back there.
- iamthedid (6/5): Average quality hotel at affordable price - Very good to stay for a 1 night stop.
Breakfast was OK.
Beds are definitely not comfortable.
SInk is in the bedroom (no separation). Toilet and shower together in a kind of plastic box.
Close to the motorway in a business park - easy to find.
Very calm at night.
- nigelbI3941ND (4/5): A complete nightmare stay - After all the staff had left the building at 22.00, a car turned up with 4 German "thugs" in it and 2 girls who may well have been prostitutes. They then self checked in and as I was sat outside I heard one of the guys say "we just get one room OK?". Later I had to help one of the girls get back into the building as she was evidently "high". Unfortunately they got the room next to us (we were in 213) and created all sorts of noise all night. Consequently I did not get any sleep whatsoever ahead of a long drive, which was the whole point of stopping there.
In my opinion the whole Ibis Budget self check in process is now flawed in view of the security situation in Europe. Rather than ending up in a quasi-brothel we could easily have ended up in a building full of terrorists.
I will be avoiding Ibis Budget hotels in the future based on these concerns
- pnrl1965 (8/5): Good value for money - Very efficient, friendly stay. Recommend for a short stay, pragmatic value for money night-over.
The reception was working well, service in English. Room was simple, but clean, and had a good number of towels. Window was however not so good, there was some noise from outside.
- RuslanB576 (2/5): Amazingly bad!!! - I am travelling quite a lot. For instance, this Autumn I will spend over 7 weeks travelling abroad in total. Ibis budget brand specifically attracts as it is located far from the noises of a city, with all the basic amenities (at least you only sleep there). This time for the first time ever I saw worker at my room, when I went out of the shower, and the local personnel did not even allow us to enter the hotel for three hours, though we paid reservation in advance. Attitude is the worst I have even ever seen! Maybe this is the Buchenwald style hotel? Accor must think many times before allowing someone to use their brand name. If I meet such attitude next time, will definitely switch to another hotel network. Angry and disapointed.
- manhattanhugo (2/5): Hostile Reception response means : AVOID THIS HOTEL. - I have been to this property before. The receptionist Ms. G., is quite fresh. I speak fluent German so we could speak. She had failed to enter my new room codes and I then could not get to my room via the front door. We had a large fight when she complained about having to open the door for me , the paying guest, to get in. This is not the quality of Ibus or Accor. One can often get locked out of one s room or the front door when and if the receptionist does not enter the updated paid codes well. This has happened to be at other IBUS properties. I cannot recommend this Ibus Budget in Nohra. A very mean spirited and unfriendly treatment here. The staff feels "put upon" and having to do too many responsibilities for too little money. The smallest question is answered with fresh unfriendly answers , one is kept short and handled in a very cold, off putting way. This is not the usual experience at a Ibus or Accor but in this particular Ibus yes, therefore I say: given their large price increase for inferior service: KEEP ON DRIVING ON !
- PedroNTeixeira2015 (2/5): Awful - Old building needing work to be done urgently.
Toilet seat withou lid???????
Rooms also needing to be renewed urgently - old carpets...
Didn't knew na Íbis budget could be like that.
No bottled water at Breakfast???
- Yizan (8/5): Good Hotel - Stayed one night, The hotel Is not far from the highway. The room is simple, but clean, matras is confortable. good breakfast, good price/quality.
Didn't use the wifi, seems have to register first before use it, and it seems the free wifi is only for emails....so didn't want to go through the trouble.
- OusmaneFD (10/5): Good value for money - This hotel had a basic service, the room was clean. It's very useful for a stop when you travel by road. The hotel is not so far from the city center of Weimar, where you can find restaurants and shops. Be careful at 23:00 PM all of them are closed.
- manhattanhugo (10/5): much more expensive but still good, went up 6 euros in one year ! too much for germany ! - this property is very quiet but secluded, hard to find, signage is too small and not easy to find from the autobahn, very clean property, staff was forthcoming, but they had increased in one year from 25 euro a night to 31, this increase is too much, too much greed., in a country where the inflation is supposed to be 2 percent or less a year ! otherwise to be recommended.
- efinet (8/5): Vey nice owner - somewhat rural - Very nice owner. location is in the middle of nowhere but easy to access. Very quiet. Perfect to visit Ertfurt and surroundings for cheap. Clean and great Internet. However it's time to replace the mini-tube TV with aN LCD TV. Willing to pay $2/night extra for this!
- manhattanhugo (8/5): very hidden but good price and very quiet - this hotel is very hard to find, it s hidden off the street and the connecting alley to the hotel is filled with bushes, but it can be done, very clean, nice, good price, would recommend, very quiet !
- volkans318 (2/5): not good - I like staying in Ibis Budget hotels. They are cheap and clean and do perfectly if you are looking for a place to sleep.
However this one in Nohra wasn't worth the dime. Ok, it's really cheap, no discussion about that.
But I have another definition of "clean". When I got in my room there were quite some insects in there. While trying to catch or kill them I saw that there were many dead moskitos on the floor. Disgusting.
Later, when I went to bed, the bedding was clean, but the mattress smelled like smoke. For a non-smoker not so pleasant.
- Skovfarmens (8/5): Had a nice stay! - Nice hotel and fair price! An overall good experience! If I have to go to this part of Germany again then I will without doubt be coming back!
Everything was fine and the staff was very friendly! I often travel with my dogs so it is important to me that they are welcome too!
- Caval2013 (2/5): Reservation system not working, room dirty - Cannot recommend. There's nothing worse than arriving to your hotel at 2:45AM only to find that the code that was supposed to let you in and open the door does not work. IBIS should really fix that. It's the 2nd and last time I tried IBIS.
Room was very worn and dirty.
I realize that for a 29 Euro special you shouldn't expect much but IBIS is simply unacceptable.
- rockott (8/5): Halfway between the Harz and Thuringerwald - This is the second time that we have stopped here on our way westward from a walking holiday in the Harz. This time it was a good base to start exploring Thuringerwald.
Easy to get to whether it is just a drop off the A4, or as we arrived, by B roads from the north.
Plenty parking, but watch out for the pothole/sleeping-policeman at the entrance. It goes to Australia!!
Warm welcome, clean room, good nights' sleep on comfortable bed followed by the usual tremendous selection of breakfast choices that we have come to expect from this chain in Germany.
