- Matthias (2/5): - Zimmer komplett verqualmt, als wenn dort regelmäßig geraucht wird. Auf telefonische Reklamation erfolgte eine freundlich-gleichgültige Reaktion, man könne nichts machen. Absolut unzumutbar.

- Minika (10/5): - Die Unterkunft war außerordentlich ruhig und hatte einen eigenen Balkon. Eine Garage im Innenhof welche nur von übernachtungsgästen betrieben werden konnte und ausgestattet mit Steckdosen um das E-Bike zu laden war vorhanden. Self check-in super unkompliziert. Aufzug so dass man das schwierige Gepäck nicht schleppen musste. Eigentlich konnte man wenn man überhaupt was sucht nur feststellen dass die Birne im Zimmer Flur durchgebrannt war und so das Licht dort nicht funktionierte. Es gab aber so viele andere lichtalternativen zu dass das wird nicht wirklich störte. Richtig gut funktionierende klimaanlage im Zimmer war das Highlight.

- Robert (6/5): Zu teuer für ein schlechtes Angebot, nicht wieder. - Das Hotel ist alt und verwohnt. Ich hatte das Zimmer 42 und gefühlt ein echt fertiges Zimmer. Auf der Toilette ist nicht Platz für sitzen und Arme an den Körper, so eng ist es. Die Dusche ist absolut fertig, undicht und kaputt. Der Duschkopf spritzt sonst wohin. Der Wasserdruck ist sehr niedrig.die Mischbatterie ist ebenfalls alt. Die Betten sind schmal, zu kurz und die Matratze hat schon viel aushalten müssen. Die Zudecke ist zu kurz. Das Fenster muss zu bleiben, bzw. wenn der Balztanz der Tauben vor dem Fenster nicht stört, kann es geöffnet werden? Der Fernseher ist ok, er funktioniert ist aber von der Position nicht so gut, nur ein Bett kann schauen...... Insgesamt, nein.... Nicht wieder. Das ist einfach zu teuer für so ein zimmer.59 Euro, ok. Aber keine 87 ohne Frühstück. Immerhin eine Kaffeemaschine mit Kaffee ist da, das passt.
- Christian (6/5): - Selfcheck hat super funktioniert. Aber: Sehr kleines Bad mit leichtem Schimmel in den Fugen der Dusche. Eine Steckdose im Bad und nur eine im übrigen Raum. Reinigungskraft kam um ca. 9.00 Uhr ohne Anzuklopfen ins Zimmer, währen meine Frau geduscht hat. Matratzen sind gut. Kaffe und Mineralwasser gab es im Zimmer.

- Claudia (8/5): - Die Unterkunft liegt mitten im Stadtzentrum, fußläufig von Bahnhof, Uni und Altstadt. Ruhig und sauber. Als "Hotel" kann man das Haus nicht (mehr) wirklich bezeichnen, denn es ist inzwischen eine Unterkunft ohne (sichtbares) Personal. Zimmerschlüssel gibt es aus der Tresorbox, was einwandfrei klappt, aber der frühere Geist des Hauses leidet darunter: Frühstück gibt es nicht mehr, die früheren Parkplätze im Innenhof auch nicht mehr. Zum Frühstücken kann man sich im "Mutterhaus", dem Residenz-Hotel, anmelden für € 17,50 p.P. oder sich ein Plätzchen in einem der Cafés/Kneipen in der Umgebung suchen. Parken ist in der gesamten Umgebung kostenpflichtig (außer sonntags), somit heißt die Lösung an Werktagen "Parkhaus".

- Frank (2/5): - Das Zimmer war sehr schlecht gereinigt, die Mülleimer des vorhergen Gastes waren nicht geleert. Es stank nach Rauch, die Dusche war kaputt. Wir sind nach einer Nacht wieder abgereist. Nie wieder.

The hotel left a contact number, but I did not answer the phone and did not even call back. I stayed for 6 days, but there was no hot water for 2 days, and the plumbing was so old that rust was coming out. I have visited this area many times for business, but this was the worst, and if I visit this area again next time, I will definitely choose this place as my last choice when other hotels are unavailable.

Det var varma dagar och det fanns ingen AC, men det visste vi om. Det fanns en fläkt och det var uppskattat. Enkelt att hitta. Parkeringshus för 20€ per dygn i närheten.

- Yalda (6/5): - Leider ist das Hotel sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Meine Matratze war komplett durchgelegen, zum Glück wurde diese zeitnah ausgetauscht. Ansonsten hatten wir ein Zimmer zur Straße hin und die große Baustelle, diese begann sehr früh am Morgen! Meiner Meinung nach, ist das Hotel zur Durchreise mit Aufenthalt für Max. 2 Tagen in Ordnung. Einen längeren Aufenthalt würde ich nicht mehr buchen oder empfehlen.

- Deborah (8/5): - Self check in went horribly wrong. Property did not email the security code to enter the building. Called the “emergency” contact number, no answer! Waited outside the building until a helpful young man staying at the property alerted the housekeeping of our problem. Maria came down, verified we were legitimate and let us in. Took awhile to get access code and key to room, but Maria was very professional and resolved the matter. Maria gets the 5 stars!

Das Bett hatte zwei Laken und auf dem unteren war ein großer Fleck mit Menstruationsblut meiner Vorgängerin. Super ekelig, wie kann sowas passieren?! Ich habe es erst später bemerkt, als es durch das obere Laken schien. Ansonsten ist die Sauberkeit ok. Man darf halt keinen Luxus erwarten (aber annähernd saubere Betten schon).

- Thomas (8/5): - Leider waren sowohl der Fernseher (kein Empfang), als auch der vorhandene Fön und die Lüftung im Bad (beides kein Strom) nicht nutzbar. Da wir nur 2 Tage da waren, war es verschmerzbar. Sehr gut ist die super-zentrale Lage in Passau!

- ruthj196 (8/5): Handy Herdegen Hotel - For a short stay this hotel is basic but ideal - clean, very close to the station and centre of Passau. The self check in and out helps when arriving late and useful luggage storage during the day. Very good and prompt communication using email. Only downside was the noise in the street outside at night.

- Per (8/5): Fint hotel til prisen - Pris og kvalitet hænger rigtigt sammen. Det var et hotel på købt niveau, men absolut matchende prisen. Der var rent og centralt beliggende i byen og i forhold til banegården. Som en hurtig overnatning med sen ankomst og på gennemrejse absolut anbefalelsesværdigt.

- simonc721 (8/5): Small hotel close to Passau Hauptbahnhof - Convenient place to stay for one night whilst traveling by train. Hotel was easy to find just down the road from the railway station. Room was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Check-in and out was quick.

- wiensch77 (4/5): Good location, tough parking situation, wretched wifi…lousy & small shower, ok breakfast - Good location in center of Passau, easy walk to major sites. Breakfast was acceptable. Bed was comfortable for a short stay. If you are driving and plan to park at the hotel it is a tough and very limited parking situation - call ahead to find out how to actually drive your car to the hotel parking. Wifi was non-existent some of the time and when it was available it was horrible - slower than slow. Shower was smaller than a broom closet and there were functional issues.
- ericgQ1729JE (8/5): Easy walking distance from railway and close to restaurants - Room was good size. Lift in building which was a godsend. Nice breakfast and friendly and helpful staff. Easy walking distance to old section of town. Hotel caters for bicycle riders. The area between railway station and hotel is cobble stone and aesthetically pleasing which is all very nice until you have to drag your bag over it.

- ProblemPage (6/5): Very good in parts - We only stayed here to break our longer trip to Vienna. It's maybe ten or fifteen minutes from the autobahn. The hotel is in a pedestrianised shopping area and slightly difficult to find. It is a small traditional hotel and town centre. Parking has to be booked, small fee and is extremely tight for even a modest car. The communal areas have been nicely improved especially the breakfast area and dining room which was most pleasant with fresh flowers on the tables. Continental breakfast appetizing. Staff very nice. Our room on top floor was old style. The shower room extremely cramped and very much in need of replacement. As warm weather the window g ad to be open and being town centre is very noisy very late and starting again early. TV remote control allocated with room key! The TV very tiny and no international channels. Wi-Fi did not work at all. There is a great hotel 50m away with beer garden. Overall we enjoyed the short stay but definitely not suitable for much more than an overnight stop.
- dagriffi (10/5): a silent night - Clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast buffet. We had a room at the back and it was absolutely silent from 10pm to 6 am. Very convenient for the station and the town center. The staff very friendly and helpful.
- ManoliZhandz (10/5): Good place - It is a good place to stay in. It is quiet near to all stores and shops along the city. Very accessible to all public and tourist spots. The great room is very clean and orderly. My love one and i had a great stay in this place. We will definitely return. Recommended to everyone
- yomintyfresh (10/5): Much better than expected from a "Hotel Garni" - My main priorities are that a hotel is clean, affordable, and in a decent location. With regard to this place, check, check, and check. With a car, there's easy access back to the A3 Autobahn; without a car, you're at the train station in about five minutes by foot and the old town in under ten minutes. The university is nearby, as is a large shopping center. The room was bigger than I was expecting, and in addition to a bed, even had a little seating area. The ensuite bathroom was clean and spacious. Parking is cheap by Passau standards (4€) and was in a little courtyard; if you have an SUV, you may have issues getting back there. All of my interactions with staff were positive; the staff was very friendly and it was clear that they were hard-working. Another guest ended up taking three parking spots (and apparently ignored the staff when they asked him to re-park...) and they helped me navigate around his car. There is someone at reception 24 hours a day. Breakfast was your standard German buffet (rolls, meats, cheeses, other things to put on your bread, yogurt, muesli...) with a few small extras (mini mozzarella balls, fried and scrambled eggs upon request...). The buffet was constantly being topped up. I don't have too many gripes, and the ones that I do have are pretty minor. For starters, there is carpet everywhere - it's been a long time since I've seen that much carpet. It appeared to be clean, though. I have bad allergies and it didn't bother me. Some of the other decor was a bit random. Even though most of the hotel was decorated in a traditional style, my room had a photo of Aphrodite's Rock at sunset as well as a ceramic buddha. I also could only log on to wi-fi with one device at a time, so if you are traveling with lots of gadgets, you may want to see if you could get an extra wi-fi log-in or two. I would definitely book here again the next time I am back in Passau with a car.
- katiebond53 (8/5): Excellent value - Hostel type hotel but great value for the price. Had a single room with shared bath and was quite comfortable although room a little Spartan. The fabulous breakfast was totally unexpected and was better than some 4 star hotels I have stayed in. Staff very friendly and helpful.
- joeww2015 (8/5): Small, family operated hotel in the centre of town - As a repeat visitor to Passau for over twenty years the Herdegen is a small, clean, quiet and well located, family operated hotel. It's not the Hilton and never will be but it is good value for money and a pleasant change from most 'anonymous' accommodation usually found today. The breakfast buffet (included) is excellent with great coffee. I'll be back.
- Donsafe (6/5): Strange Office Building Location But OK - This was a weird place. Felt like you were in a 70's office building. The man on reception was a little clueless but friendly. Managed to negotiate a better price (90E). I've stayed in Passau before but in a hostel / pension which was very reasonably priced (cycle hostel by station), but all the cheap places were fully booked. This place seemed expensive (officially 110E for a twin) and was a bit grungy but in the end it was comfortable enough and had a good buffet breakfast included. It seemed more popular than I expected. Location is in the shopping mall. Car-parking at back was good for bicycle parking but was by the bins and absolutely stank. Tourist office a bit snotty about someone looking for budget accommodation. They actually laughed at me when I said I wanted to pay around 60E if possible. They said 120E was the minimum. I walked away and we looked for ourselves. Couldn't say I liked this hotel but in the end it was cheaper than the others and friendly enough with a comfy 70's room and a good breakfast.
- Pruthvi_ks (6/5): Not worth the price. Excellent Location! - Location is excellent and they have free parking which otherwise could cost a bit too much unless u don't want to park the car too far. The rooms were 'OK' clean and the staff was very polite. Thats all I can say good about this hotel. The toilet is so so small that u can't take a poop without hitting ur knees on the nearby heater (thanks to summer the heater was off).. then comes the toilet paper, it was the cheapest quality one can get in germany. Even the public toilets have two layered toilet paper. The towels were not replaced. There was dust settled everywhere in the room..(on the desk, on the phone etc etc). I think the dust had also settled on the bed.. my wife started itching herself as soon as she slept on the bed. The car park is a bit of a challenge.. there s only as much space as required for a car to go in. If u hv a car wider than the BMW X5.. Don't drive through the gate.. u ll scratch all sides.
