Guest Reviews
- Veronica (10/5): -
- Gareth (8/5): - Excellent location for exploring the city. Good wifi. Nice master bedroom Bathroom v compact. Lots of stairs to climb
- Marco (10/5): Very pleasant - Very clean, comfortable no elevator, but did not mind much the stairs
- GISELA (10/5): Divino apartamento - El departamento es divino! Todo perfecto!! Nos gustó lo cómodo y luminoso a parte está cerca de todo Es 4to. Piso x escaleras muy empinadas....
- Jessica (9/5): Spacious penthouse in the heart of Florence - Amazing location, you can see the duomo from the entrance to the building. Spacious and bright apartment, quiet, feels very private and peaceful, no street noise. Penthouse apartment split across two floors with a beautiful spacious bedroom on the lower floor. We rushed from the train station to avoid the €30 fee for checking in after 8pm. The man to check us in was friendly. The apartment is modern and comfortable, clean, well equipped kitchen, lots of clean towels, aircon, iron & ironing board, washing machine, wifi. It was perfect for our 3 day stay! As others have mentioned, be aware there are several flights of stairs to get up to the top floor, as is to be expected in charming old Italian buildings. The stairs were no problem for us, but with a heavy suitcase it might be a challenge! A lot of reviews mentioned the shower but it really isn't the worst; the temperature absolutely was adjustable, water pressure is low/medium, and the hosts left plenty of shower gel & soap. I was happy to spend a little more to have a lovely apartment as a lot of properties in Florence are very old and not as bright and well-furnished as this apartment is. It is also really nice to be so high up and away from street noise. We really loved it and would happily stay again. After booking there is a check in process with contracts to be signed and notice that if you do not have a credit card to hold for damages (like a hotel), you can't check in. This may inconvenience some, even though in hindsight we realised that no one asked us for a card upon check-in. The hosts were quite slow to respond, especially on WhatsApp. I messaged the day before check out to ask if it was possible for a slightly later check out or to leave our bags as our train was in the afternoon, and also if we could bank transfer the city tax as we didn't have the correct cash, but received a reply the next morning saying not possible and to use the nearest luggage storage (but didn't give any recommendations). For those who need luggage storage near the apartment, there is one a few minutes from the apartment called 'Lock Your Luggage' on Via Sant'Egidio with great prices. Maybe the hosts could include this information somewhere to help future guests? 😊 Be sure to have the correct amount of cash for city tax as you will need to leave it either upon check in or check out (envelopes and a safe box are provided).
- Flavia-laura (7/5): Not great not terrible - The location was excellent in a historical building Not so clean, also the water had no pressure, took forever to take a shower.
The AC was barely working.
- Tongtong (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (8/5): We had a pleasant stay in Florence & the apartment was very comfortable. On 5th level, no lift! - Location was pretty central to the main square and to restaurants. The apartment was great, just alot of stairs to climb which wasn't so great. We didn't hear back from our host until almost 3pm when he wanted to meet us at the front door. We had sent quite a few messages to say we were there early & could we check in by 2pm! By the time the host arrived it was 3:30pm so alot of waiting around. When we made it up all 7.5 flights of stairs with luggage the cleaners were still there which was annoying.
The host Mattea was very nice though & called around the next day with a lovely welcome gift. We also thought the city tax was very high! It was in most places in Italy & a friend who had been there in 2024 said it was alot higher than last year & this could be due to the Jubilee year. Also we were told by the host Netflix was free there, it worked the first 2 nights & didn't on the 3rd night.
- Florence (9/5): Superb -
- Wade (9/5): This is a fantastic place to stay, ilovedevery minute of it - Location is fantastic! Ugo is the kindest. It was everything I needed it to be Water pressure is low and shower seemingly oscillates between freezing cold and scalding hot.
- Kleni (10/5): I had a fantastic stay in this central Florence apartment! It was cozy, clean, and just a short walk from the Duomo and -
- Frank (9/5): Perfect Location. Walking distance to all the major attractions! - The location was perfect, the room large, spacious, and comfortable with decent facilities. A good blend of old charm and modern convenience. Ugo was a pleasure to deal with, a real gentleman. He went out of his way to provide us with a spare key and also went out and bought us a bottle of champagne upon hearing about us being on honeymoon. Thank you, Ugo! The climb up the stairs can be tiring as there is no lift, especially if you have heavy luggage. The hot water service was not great... very intermittent
- Maximilian (9/5): Live the art in Florence - A nice apartment to stay in Florence, the admin Ugo is very friendly and helpful. Excellent location to reach the attractions, like Academia and Uffizi. The appliances work well, but the shower was a bit difficult to adjust
- Jeff (8/5): Beautiful very old apartment near main sights. - Apartment was in a fantastic location, close to the Duomo and Chiesa Croce.
Hugo, the owner, gave us plenty of recommendations of places to visit and restaurants nearby (of which there were plenty).
The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in! As other reviews have stated, the flat is on the 4th floor with no lift, although this wasn't really a problem to us (we are in our sixties).
However being on the top floor the water pressure was sometimes low and thus the operation of the shower was a bit erratic.
- Alex (8/5): Very good - The location is great. Close to everything and quiet. The communication - the host agreed to meet us at a certain time so we could leave our luggage before dropping the rental car. He didn't show up, didn't reply. We ended up dropping the car and taking a taxi. Also, the water in the shower is constantly changing every minute or 2 from freezing cold to hot.
- Deborah (7/5): Lovely apartment if you can handle the steps. They did keep us from running out for a snack! - Lovely apartment. Felt like home! comfortable bed. Spacious. Washer. 76 exhausting steps to get to apartment. Spots on main rug and sheets.
- Hinna (9/5): Wonderful stay in Florence - The apartment seems newly refurbished- everything was clean and worked well. The apartment is as it is in the pictures advertised. The little touches like the coffee machine and extra stock of bedding and towels were great. Also, having a washing machine in the apartment was very handy! The location is also perfect - it’s about a 3 minute walk to the cathedral and other main attractions but the apartment is situated in a location where there is no noise.
Lastly, Hugo was amazing! He checked us in, in person; was always available on his phone if we had any questions about the apartment or Florence in general, and just a generally very kind individual. I would definitely stay here again. The building is 400 years old so there is no lift, therefore walking up 4 flights of stairs on the day we arrived was a challenge, however, it got easier and was a great little workout after all the food we were eating!
The shower also just has two settings - cold which was great during our stay in July, or very hot.
- Olena (10/5): One of the best properties I’ve stayed in - We enjoyed our stay at the property very much, it was just perfect. I really liked I could find literally everything I would need in this apartment: coffee machine, washing machine, hair dryer, iron. They even have scales and plenty of interesting books to read. There are four flights of steep steps but I also count it as an advantage cuz it was a good exercise, taking to consideration all the food eaten. Location is perfect. 3 mins to Santa Maria del Fiore, 20 mins to the train station and about 30 mins to the Piazzale Michelangelo. Owner and staff are very friendly and accommodative. Always in touch and happy to help. The only disadvantage was the water in the shower: it would be either cold, either super hot. It didn’t bother us much as we were happy with the cool water after the extreme heat but it might be an inconvenience when it’s more cold outside.
- Julie (10/5): Great location and apartment that had everything we needed during a long stay. - Great apartment for a long stay in Florence. Fantastic location, about an 8 minute walk from the cathedral and had lots of eateries around. The apartment had everything we needed and Hugo was super helpful answering the questions we had. Someone met us at the apartment when we checked in. Just a note to others, the apartment is located on the top floor and there’s about 75 steps to reach the apartment. The bathroom is a bit small.
- Erick (9/5): Good option - The property is well located! The façade of the building needs a little maintenance, the apartment is on the top floor, there are many stairs when going up (consider it based on the amount of luggage you carry)
- Chu (10/5): Great to live here! - Very nice place!
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic holiday! Beautiful, well equipped apartment in an excellent location. Hugo was very helpful and looked after us well. Very good value for money, would absolutely recommend! ☺️🇮🇹
- Rebecca (10/5): Great place! - The apartment was great! Super comfortable, nicely furnished, very clean. Great location - walkable to all the main tourist sites in Florence. Don't be alarmed by the graffiti covering the outside door to the apartment building - the inside apartment is great! Be aware that it is four flights up stairs with no elevator - just part of renting an apartment in an old building. Be sure to get clear check out instructions when you're checking in. I would definitely stay here again!
- Evita (9/5): Superb - Location were great, host was nice and helpful. Appartment was well equipted and nicely decorated. When taking a shower , water pressure and temperature was jumping, but its ok, knowing that this is historical building.
- Ilgar (9/5): Superb -
- Nick (10/5): Amazing location and great hosts! - It was clean, exactly as pictured and was in a great location to get to anywhere we wanted to go Nothing- it was perfect and just what we wanted
