- K5982ULalleng (4/5): This is NOT the hotel you want to stay at. - After a long day at the airport our flight was canceled and delta Airlines put us in the city express hotel, told us there would be a buffet set up so we could eat and a buffet would be prepared for breakfast. Due to the small shuttles taking 10 people at a time since of is didn't get to the hotel until after 10pm, and we were told we could not eat that they were cleaning up, for breakfast I went down to the buffet to just grab coffee and they wanted to charge for that, coffee was not included, the other Marriott hotels in cancun include coffee just not at this city express. No biggie on these but the flooring is falling apart, the walls are dirty in the main areas, the staff is not very helpful. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Which is sad because we regularly stay at 2 of the other Marriott hotels close by this one that are amazing with incredible staff that is not the same with city express. I do appreciate their desire to conserve with a poster on the mirror telling you how much water is wasted in a 5 minute shower, but after my experience they come across as cheap skates. Delta airlines should know they did not deliver as promised.

- 527TravelZ (2/5): Aweful place to stay![Marriott - look your low standards] - The worst place to stay.Don't fall for the MARRIOTT Brad added to this Hotel they are tarnishing the Marriott brand( i am sure Marriott does not care with the way this hotel is maintained).The bathrooms - water pressure in shower made the slowest to save cost, breakfast - i can't call it a eatable breakfast(Lowest quality packaged croissants and bread), The moment you enter the hotel reception you can smell stinking, thats all from few I could say , way more you will experience if you opt to be there.Good Luck!
- smrtblnd (2/5): Go Somewhere Else - Room was clean, bed was comfortable but those are the only positive things about this hotel. I booked and paid via booking.com and upon checkin, the staff said I hadn't paid and needed to pay again even though I had the confirmation showing paid. After about 10 minutes of arguing, the payment "suddenly" showed. Their "free 24/7 shuttle" is a complete lie, it only actually runs occasionally. We called upon landing and were told it would be about 2 hours for pickup and they gave us 2 choices. 1. Wait or 2. Get a taxi and they would reimburse us at checkout. BUT, upon checkout, they refused to honor their promise. Breakfast was terrible and they seemed to allow non guests to eat at it because when we tried to eat the next morning, there were a lot of people who looked like either shuttle drivers or construction workers.

Nice cafeteria area that a lot of people can fit and eat comfortably. Love it and highly recommend it. We only needed it for 1 night for a flight delay but was perfect and they offer transportation to the airport. Great service. Our driver was on time.

- karly1413 (2/5): I recommend asking for the “Do Not Disturb” sign. - My stay was comfortable, but I had an unpleasant experience with the housekeeping staff. At 9:30 am, they knocked on my door a couple of times, very loudly, and without waiting for an answer, tried to open it. Luckily, the door lock was on, so they couldn't get in. When I complained to the employee about opening it so early, he simply replied, "I was checking if the guests had left," even though checkout isn't until 1:00 pm. This struck me as a total lack of respect and security. They shouldn't open doors arbitrarily like that. The front desk only offered me a quick apology. I recommend asking for a "Do Not Disturb" sign upon check-in, as there isn't one available in the room.

Firstly the address was incorrect and even the Marriott hotline could not give me the correct address and were very rude when I called. Our room was not cleaned properly with hair all over the bathroom from the last guest. I had booked a shuttle to the airport but then they told me it was only subject to availability and not guaranteed so I had to get my own way there and all the staff could do was shrug their shoulders. - Verified traveler (2/5): Shocking Stay - Dear Marriott Customer Service, I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding an appalling experience my family and I endured during a recent stay at one of your properties – an experience that not only left us deeply disappointed but also saw us scammed out of over £300. From the moment we arrived, the standard of the room was utterly unacceptable and shockingly below what one would expect from a globally respected brand like Marriott. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted with a revolting sight: the bed linens were visibly stained. This was not only deeply unhygienic but also completely inexcusable, especially from a hotel chain that claims to prioritize cleanliness and guest satisfaction. To make matters worse, the hair dryer in the room did not function at all. When we brought this to the attention of staff, no meaningful action was taken to rectify it. This is a basic amenity and its absence caused significant inconvenience. The bathroom facilities were equally substandard. The water pressure in the shower was abysmal—barely a trickle—and the water was, at best, lukewarm. After a long day of travel, the last thing any guest expects is to struggle to get a decent shower. This level of discomfort is unacceptable. What has made this experience even more infuriating is the fact that we were charged over £300 for what can only be described as a disgraceful stay. There was no transparency, no accountability, and zero willingness from staff to resolve
- Anabel (4/5): - For the money I paid. Any other hotel is better, this place was in the middle of nowhere. The lobby ladies want me to paid the room when I arrived but I already paid online with a card and I had the confirmation numbers and everything later she told me that she got it and it was ok. There was not iron in the room when I called for one. I had to call twice to get one that was leaking water. The driver from aeropuert to the hotel was a the best we was very friendly and helpful.

The room however was very small compared to all the hotels I've ever stayed in. Staff was great, breakfast options were limited. If you need a place to crash for the night, this is the best option.

The walls are thin and I could hear other guests moving around in their rooms when I was trying to sleep. The beds are very very firm. The wifi didn’t work for me, which was annoying. The bathroom was designed with literally zero counter space. However the hotel is clean and new and very close to the airport. The free breakfast was basic continental-style, but appreciated. The staff was nice enough. I wasn’t unhappy with the stay but I also think there’s better out there to be found. I would not rebook at this hotel.
- JAMES (8/5): A nice short stay hotel - This hotel is not somewhere that you would spend a week in Cancun but for a short stay near the airport it is more than sufficient. The hotel is clean and comfortable with plenty of parking and the staff is very nice. The location is near a busy road and the rooms overlook some industrial yards. The free breakfast about what you would expect. We were getting in very late so it didn’t make sense to pay for a night in an all inclusive so it served its purpose well

Nobody answered the number they provided me so I waited 1h30 at the airport before spending 1000 pesos for a taxi… a shame. Even this morning, I check twice personally and physically at the lobby that my family was registered for the 5 am shuttle. With the previous day experience, I had a bad feeling so I wake up early to check again with the driver at 4.45 and I did well, we were not on his list. Absolutely terrible. Children would have done a better service than this staff. As I paid at the hotel, I don’t think there is a way to get any refund or compensation. I tried to chat with them (3 people) but their English is limited and as soon as the discussion became unpleasant for them, they switched in the « I don’t speak English » mode and use their phone as a translator… Never again at this place.
- Jon (4/5): - Clean and efficient. Good staff. Negative: nothing walkable from hotel. No restaurant or bar. No bar in hotel just room service menu that can be served in lobby/breakfast area. They had no record of my reservation through Expedia. If I had not had printed copy of res we would have been without rooms 45 minutes to sort it out. I blame Expedia.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Not so great - Mixed feelings about this place. The shuttle drivers and front desk were really helpful but the food and beverage team not so much. Ordered dinner and served on paper plates with plastic cutlery, no napkins and had to go up to server to get the water I ordered and to order and pay so not much service and no English. At breakfast arrived at 8:15 am and no eggs or bread or fruit left. No black tea. Could not find knives. They eventually refilled the eggs and bread. Elevator frames on 5th floor held with tape. Room was okay but the air conditioning blows right onto the head end of the bed so into face. Only 2 bath towels in room. Stained furniture in lobby and screaming kids at 9:30 pm at night.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was busy, and most of the food was gone by the time I arrived. There is a taco place, 7-11 and money exchange place within 3 minutes walk from the hotel.

- LUIS (2/5): - When we walked into the hotel, the smell was terrible. They had a snack shop near the front countrr that was near empty and in total disarray. Our room key did not work in the elevador and we had to wait in line for 20 minutes before being issued a new one. No one at front desk ande eres the phone on múltiple ocassions. Breakfast was disapointing. No coffee, no milk for the cereal, and no silverware. Staff was not very hospitable. Shuttle service was a hastle with long wait times.

It's great for a night or 2, but don't stay here for an entire vacation. Your wife & kids will never want to vacation with you again if you spend an entire week here. If you want a vacation experience, there are so many great area properties set up for that purpose for a good range of budgets. This hotel is just a good utilitarian option if you're just landing or have an early flight out or if you're here on business. Close to the airport, so not a whole lot of walkable dining options. However, room service and breakfast are nice and basic. Pool and gym were nicer than expected. Airport shuttle was an amazing perk... reliable and easy to use! Call the hotel # when you arrive to give your name and location and then Meet the driver at "Friends & Family" pickup outside of your terminal. Have some patience and use this hotel for what it was meant for. You'll be satisfied.
- Christine (8/5): - The hotel is new and therehfore clean. Had to ask for glasses, water and conditioner as the one provided was three quarters gone. Walls are paper thin. We went down for breakfast at 7:45 and there were no eggs left or forks or bread. Asked for eggs and she brought them but didn't check what else was needed therefore no forks or bread. People that came after us were also annoyed as there didnt seem to be anyone looking after the breakfast. Disappointing after paying the price we did. I dont recommend this place.

- Richard (6/5): Very nice spot but not enough staff! - The poor night clerk was overwhelmed when we arrived late after taking over 4 hours to get through customs. Even though there were only 6 people in front of us, it took over an hour to get to us so we could check in! The room was nice but breakfast was horrible as it was so busy and the food was gone the second it came out. They were obviously not prepared for the hotel being full.
- Gioia Patricia (2/5): - There was not enough staff for the check in. More than one hour waiting in a long queue for checking in. Tried to call for arranging transportation from the airport to the hotel, no one picked up the phone or answered any messages.
- Kyra (10/5): - The breakfast was incredible! First time ever at a place that offers free breakfast. Room was comfortable and black out curtains worked so well we slept in!
- billy (2/5): Horrible experience - 1. We waited almost 45 minutes just to check in 2. All the time there are shooting air fresheners with dense perfume odor And my wife is sensitive to odor (cancer recovery) we asked them to shut them down and did not 3. The bathroom was dirty with hair on the floor so we asked them to clean it up 4. The bathroom had a strong sewer smell and the janitor came to check but couldnt so anything! No air ventilation 5. Printer lack of cartridges and no stock
- Javier (2/5): - It took an hour and a half to check in when we did both rooms were occupied by other visitors we had to wait 30 more minutes to get our keys. Worst experience ever and our kids were sleeping longer in the lobby than our room
- Cara (8/5): - My son and I stayed here after a late arrival to Cancun on our way to Valladolid. Everything is clean and new, the staff were extremely helpful. The location is close to the airport but not really around anything, which was completely fine for us. Big, new, free parking garage. If you have a kid who is a picky eater there might not be a lot they will eat from the continental breakfast, but probably enough to tide them over until you can find a bakery or breakfast spot. Overall very good, would recommend for a low cost place for the night.
- Tereza (4/5): - The place was dirty. Floors dirty, sheets used and dirty, breakfast dirty, servers uniforms dirty. One slow coffee machine for hotel. Trash on floor everywhere. The check in took long time. Front desk staff poor.
