- Bilal (10/5): - This was an excellent resort to stay for my birthday weekend Antonio at the front desk of the hotel was very friendly and knowledgable, he helped me get a taxi when my stay was over, also since the hotel wasn’t overcrowded I was giving a complementary room upgrade which led my balcony to the pool, Antonio greeted me every time I returned to the hotel which was very pleasant I stayed from the weekend of September 5–8 of 2025 I was hardly I the room because of the excursions I participated in during the weekend. The only one thing is this resort is right by the highway so I did hear a lot of traffic during the night but besides that I give the resort a 10/10

Also they reached out to us and offered a late check out due to some remodeling inconveniences. I appreciated the preemptive heads up! The decor was eclectic but my guy LOVED it! The pool was great. Not on a beach but just a short uber away from playa Delfines where the Cancun sign is. We enjoyed our 2 days and 1 night stay!

- Joseph (10/5): Quick Date Night - We stay here frequently. Love that it is adult only. Quiet location. Staff are very attentive. The breakfast that is included is very good. They were doing a lot of improvements this time so you couldn’t really venture out on their boardwalk. I’m sure it will be even better when completed. Not a party place with a big beach to hang out on if that is what you are looking for. But we enjoy staying here. They also love our dog which is a bonus!

Never did they even offered to move me to another room. Also in the 2nd morning I was there getting ready to go to a trip I founded a scorpion on my bed. Be nice if they fumigate regularly. No microwave in the room so you can really heat up left overs.

- Joseph (10/5): Monthly Couples Visit - We stay here once a month. They treat us perfectly. The staff are great. The location is not what you are looking for if you want a party spot on the beach. It’s quiet and very quaint. They have rooms around the pool and your patio has stairs directly into the pool. We bring our dog with us sometimes and they welcome her as much as they welcome us. Perfect for what we are looking for. It’s 5 mins from Cancun International. Easy to get to and easy to get out of. The continental breakfast is very good and we recommend the French toast.

- Janis (10/5): - We stayed in a king room with direct access to the plunge pool…what a treat to just step out the back door and dip into a basically private pool. So romantic and relaxing. The bed was comfortable, pillows soft, and towels extra large and absorbent. The staff were so kind, greeting us with big smiles and treating us like the only guests there. It was quiet, peaceful, and the pools were beautiful. Everything was tastefully done, making us feel hidden away in an exotic paradise. The breakfast was an artful display of delicious fruit with additional side options that were absolutely delicious. In particular, the servers Milton and Juan were the absolute BEST! So friendly, fast, personable, professional, and loved to practice English and help us with Spanish. I highly recommend staying here to avoid the crowded, noisy resorts and get the personal touch that makes all the difference!

Nothing to see or do anywhere nearby Waited two hours until check-in, I let them know I would be early the day before, then at 3 o'clock they changed shifts and when I went to the front desk nobody had told the new person I'd already checked in. After that was straightened out my room had two small glass bottles of water for $3.50 each and no toilet paper.

There is no sound proofing and the plastic door lets in all of the road noise from the highway next to the hotel. You can literally hear every car all night long. Also there are no room darkening shades so you will be awake when the sun comes up. Other than that the hotel is great.

Bed was hard, food made us sick and the smell from the seaweed was too much to bare. The swimming pool looked abandoned and for decoration with no one making use of it . We had to change accommodation after the first night of a 4 night stay. Decorations are bizzare with the skulls but maybe that’s the vibe they are going for. Just be cautious of your bookings and read the reviews before making a decision. We wished we had, would have saved us the trouble of booking

There was debris in the parking lot as well as on the beach, it also had a bad smell due to the seaweed that washed up on the beach They did not disclose that the beach was going to be off limits due to repair. The rooms were clean but the toilet continued to clog and the water in the shower was cold. The door had a broken lock on it and the chairs by the pool were torn on the seat. They don’t provide you with the WiFi password and you had to ask for the remote because they were not in the rooms. We pretty much had the whole hotel to ourselves so it was pretty quiet.

- Xavier Allen (10/5): - This property is a catfish experience. It looks good and is nicely decorated but the service and amenities are failing. When we first got to the property there was no AC and there was a strong sewer smell. Our room door did not lock and there was no WiFi available… We were not accommodated during our stay(room toilet continuously stopped working , there were no wash clothes available, no pool towels offered, and our room key stopped working). Our electricity/AC turned off every time we left our room. Highly do not recommend this resort. I’d suggest for the resort to put more into their amenities/ guest services rather than their hotel decor and or boho aesthetic.

- James Patrick (2/5): - The beach was inaccessible due to seaweed and damage which was not disclosed. Half of the property was destroyed by a storm not disclosed. Limited staff. What could be a really cool eclectic place was neglected and not presented in its best form.

As a solo traveler, I didn’t feel comfortable or secure, so I made the difficult decision to cancel my reservation. Out of fairness, I contacted the hotel directly to explain the situation and request a refund. They responded and indicated that they would approve the refund. I then provided that information to Expedia, thinking they would support a resolution. Unfortunately, neither the hotel nor Expedia followed through. The hotel stopped responding, and Expedia denied the refund, saying they couldn’t validate the hotel’s written approval, even though I submitted proof. I did everything on my end to cooperate, but I was left without support. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. As someone who books travel often, I expected more accountability from both the hotel and Expedia. I hope this review helps others make informed decisions and encourages better customer service moving forward.

The only things that were not worth it for me is the free breakfast is no good, the hotel stinks from the sea but also noone was cleaning it and we were told “wifi was down for the day”, it turned out being down the entire day. Early checkin is never guaranteed which is understandable but the entire hotel seemed empty so i wasn’t sure at 12 why early check in couldn’t be accommodated. I wouldn’t stay here again.

- Regina (2/5): - I book this resort on Expedia and also paid the extra money for insurance went to the hotel resort. The power was out they had bedbugs. The all inclusive was not all inclusive and I asked for my money back from the resort and Expedia because I have the insurance that was supposed to cover me a full refund. I went back-and-forth with Expedia trying to get my refund back from the resort and no progress. I would not recommend anybody go there. You can’t get to the beach because it was covered with grass and algae. Expedia kept explaining that they were contacting the resort and no one would answer. It was the worst experience of my life and a total waste of money that I was not able to get back then on top of that I had to spend an extra $1800 to find a different resort and I couldn’t get back any of my money from the resort or Expedia. I couldn’t get back any money from my airfare because it was canceled and delayed, so I lost a lot of money dealing with this resort and I do not recommend anybody to ever go to that resort. They didn’t have any food or Wi-Fi and it was supposed to be all inclusive. It was nothing to do on the resort but get in the pool that is not what I paid for and I deserve a full refund.

- Jackie (2/5): - stayed at Akuazul Resort (Adults Only) for my birthday, and it was a huge letdown. While the view was beautiful and the food and drinks were great, the rest of the experience didn’t match what was advertised. There was no airport shuttle (despite being told there would be), and the gym and other amenities were unavailable. The beach wasn’t usable due to moss and seaweed, which we weren’t warned about. Parts of the hotel were run-down and not shown in photos, and the safe felt insecure. I also had to deal with a leak under the sink that was never fixed, and streetcar noise and a hard bed made sleeping tough. Some staff were kind, but others were rude and unhelpful. We only received a late checkout for all the issues — the bare minimum. For the price, this resort isn’t worth it. Please do your research before booking. This place needs serious renovations, and until then, I can’t recommend Akuazul

The beach was not usable due to seaweed (not their fault) but the pool by the beach and the bar were also closed (I’m not sure why). The continental breakfast was good and the staff was friendly.

- Rafael (6/5): - Property is beautiful. It has pretty cool art where you can take good pictures. Room is pretty nice, and staff it is very friendly and respectful. With that said, here are a few thinks to consider: 1. If you go during sargassum season, not the place to stay at. They don't clean it making their beach area technically not existing. 2. Stayed there for 4 nights, and had no internet during my whole stay. They said it was an issue with their provider, which sucked because it was hard to figure out where to go for dinner, trips etc. 3. The hotel lacks maintenance. Big part of hotel had no accessa to guest because the paths were in such a bad shape. It did not seem like they were currently working to fix them either. 4. If you want to sit at the bar and have a few drinks at night time, you will have to leave the hotel. Pool bar closes at 5:00 PM 5. Continental breakfast is average. You get fruit, and get to pick between french toast, toast, or pancake. They are good but repetitive after been there for a few days. They also try to get you to order from their a la carte menu, but was a bit over priced for what you get. Chalaquiles were about 18USD. 6. If you are looking to stay here and go to cenotes/beach outside of hotel, bring your own towels. They will NOT provide you with towels for outside use. Hotel has great potential, but currently it is in bad shape.

Pool was very nice . For a Continental breakfast i expected more like atleast eggs but you get a plate of fruit and toast, one pancake or french toast. Only but you can pay for their other options and the food was great.

The reviews on here do say that there is a lot of noise at night which there is because the hotel is next to Main Street but after 12 AM, I did not hear too much noise and was able to sleep good. They have a safe provided for you to leave stuff that you wanna keep safe. It does smell fishy, but that's just part of it being by the shore. This resort is more of a shore type of resort because it is not the actual beach you have access to it's more of the shore. It is still quite pleasant. There is some damage to some things but nothing that would make you not enjoy your time here, the pools are maintained clean. Food was good at the restaurant. Drinks were good nice relaxing time. Easy to get Uber and Uber eats. The only thing not related to this resort day was some of my activities that I had scheduled would not come pick us up at this hotel but they would make us go to the residence Inn, which is a one minute Uber ride or 12 min walk. Definitely would return and recommend if you want something more relaxed with not too much people.

- Tsachai (6/5): - The property decor is beautiful. The beach is a bit run down but it is still very beautiful. There is a gut wrecking smell walking over to the beach but luckily the beach does not smell. Unfortunately, my room was not clean upon check in. There was stains under the covers and an old envelope addressed to someone else left on the table. The staff were friendly and my room did get properly cleaned. The toilet stopped flushing my last night and since I was about to leave, I did not bother trying to get it fixed. There is no phone in the room so all requests have to be made at the hotel entrance. You can hear the street from the bedroom, but as a New Yorker, it did not affect me or my rest. The hotel is a convenient location to Cancun’s airport and Cancun’s hotel zone which is only an uber ride away. Complementary breakfast tatse good but is only a few light options so be prepared to order more food to actually get full. This is a nice place to stay for a very short and convenient get away.
