- JandJMiller (10/5): The best hotel in Venice - Our stay at Palazzo Maria Formosa was exceptional. This boutique hotel is so stylish and beautiful. The location is close enough to all the major attractions but tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Venice. You arrive and leave by water taxi and walk out onto Campo Maria Formosa which is very charming and leads you to roam the streets of Venice to explore. The rooms are clean and charming with great toiletries and a Dyson hairdryer. The bed is extremely comfortable. The breakfast is delicious with a lot of options. The staff really makes your stay special. Luca and everyone at reception are friendly and so helpful. Sara is a very special person. She is fun and so attentive. She served our breakfast in the morning and made cocktails for us in the afternoon. She makes sure the guests are happy. The best hotel to stay at in Venice.

We went for a romantic trip and it’s perfect, the rooms are incredible overlooking the square. I’d recommend arriving via water taxi from the airport to add to the experience. Breakfast is out of this world. I’d highly recommend this hotel

- jimrielly (10/5): 5 Star Staff - We were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived, as if we had all met before. The staff here exemplify Italian hospitality. Luca and Atsuko at the front desk gave us great recommendations for meals and just some fun conversations, and Sara in the bar/restaurant has her goal to make you feel special. Absolutely 5 star service. Staff also speak English, Spanish and Japanese (and likely others). Rooms are huge and the bed had one of the best mattresses I've slept on in a long time (I'm Hilton Diamond and Titanium Bonvoy, so lots of hotels this year). Great breakfast, too. Campo Sa. Maria Formosa is beautiful and an area of Venice were you will see more Venetians than tourists (!!). Families walking, kids playing soccer, people sitting and enjoying a drink watching the crowd pass... and very easy to walk most anywhere in Venice from there. We'll definitely be back.

There very little not to like - maybe not the facilities of a large hotel, but makes up it for it in the charm of a boutique destination

The reception member who check us in ( wearing glasses in evening shift) was rude and made jokes about our luggage in a rude way // but the other reception members were so kind and supportive.

- Maryam (10/5): exceptional experience - Our stay at Plazzo Maria Formosa was absolutely amazing. We arrived straight to the canal entrance door via water taxi and their kind staff was there to welcoming us and help with the luggages. This hotel is a well designed boutique hotel. Our room was spacious, quiet, comfortable, clean and modernly furnished. The hotels location is amazing and just a short walk away from the main sites. Staffs were knowledgeable, kind, helpful and very friendly, they went above and beyond to make your stay at Venice memorable. The hotels included breakfast was the best breakfast we ever had at any of our previous stays. The menu includes a variety of dishes to please different tastes and while you are waiting for your order you could enjoy their starter tray including different kind of breads with honey, jam, chocolate ganache and whipped butter. On our last day we found out they also have hotels in Cortina, Paragi and Portofino (Portofino will be my next stay). Lastly, I Would highly recommend staying at Plazzo Maria Formosa, this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at.

- Irina (10/5): Excellent place, would recommend - Great place, excellent hotel. The building is beautifully restored, clean rooms, confortable beds, it was quiet (so a good night’s sleep). Breakfast was a la carte, enough options. Dyson hairdrier in the bathroom. They have a lady in charge of reservations who does an excellent job - recommended some very nice places and secured reservations for us. Location is good but not excellent, a little bit to walk to St Mark’s square, but not much, it’s manageable. Even though the building is very nice, is not as imposing as other big hotels in Venice. Entertainment (TV) didn’t work 2 nights out of three, they fixed it at firdt but the second night after 10minutes it was broken again - the staff was very kind and interested to fix the problem, we didn’t insist because it was not essential to us.

Beautifully designed, classic Venetian styling but felt more modern than a lot of chintzy hotels I’ve stayed at in Venice before. The room was a decent size and the bathroom was gorgeous. Staff were super helpful and breakfast was great. I enjoyed our stay. The air conditioning in the room was a little inefficient.

We arrived via water taxi, straight to the door of the hotel and felt immediately wowed by the entrance. We were upgraded on check in to a beautiful room due to it being our honeymoon. We enjoyed a lovely cocktail by the attentive barman and the breakfast was fantastic. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back soon.

- DeeptiJainn (10/5): Palazzo Maria Formosa: Venetian Tradition Meets Modern Luxury - Loved my stay at Palazzo Maria Formosa. Everyone at the hotel is incredibly professional and always willing to accommodate your wishes. For instance, they assigned me the exact room I asked for — a lovely room overlooking the charming Venetian square of Maria Formosa. They also arranged a reliable water taxi that picked me up from the airport and conveniently dropped me right outside the hotel deck. The rooms are pristine and lovely and have every amenity you can think of—balancing modern comforts with the Venetian charm of olden days. Other hotel areas also reflected this delightful blend of traditional and contemporary aesthetics. Another upside is that you can walk everywhere from the hotel—everything is just a short 10-15-minute walk away. They also provide a bespoke map to help you navigate through the charming, albeit narrow, Venetian alleys (which I loved using more than Google Maps). Another memorable part of my stay was watching gondolas and water taxis glide by from the seating area—which truly captured the essence of Venice for me!

Really well positioned as most of the main attractions are walking distance but also in a more calm part of town. The breakfast lived up to the hype and was faultless. From my perspective, the people were very welcoming, kind, and available, offering valuable advice since most of the staff are from Venice. The room was spacious, with an impeccably clean bathroom and excellent service! The room was prepared to accommodate us, with all the small details at different times of the day. The service is exceptional, and the location is lovely: situated in the corner of a square, it is close to the most visited places yet avoids the tourist congestion of the city center. I didn't have a chance to try the spa experience. And nothing more

Basically our luggage has not arrived at the airport, however the staff at the reception were dealing with the issue as it is their own responsibility. They were tracking our luggage status with the lost and found department, and when the luggage arrived they contacted us immediately. The breakfast was so good, many options in the menu and the food is so delicious. The room is very nice and the bathroom is so convenient. The hotel is an old palace and it has it’s own deck for the water taxi. The location of the hotel is very central where we could reach the attractions easily by walking. We really highly recommend this place. Nothing

- Verspreeuwen (10/5): A top Venetian experience with great 5 stars service - A Great, kind, fast and always to willing to exceed expectiation type of service is what first define the venue. We got upgraded to a nicer room. The rooms are clean and well recently decorated while still keeping the original, ancient spirit of the building. You can enjoy 4m high ceiling with a nice view with breakfat in bed. A possiblity of arriving by watertaxi in in the hotel is a plus for an unforgetable experience. - Nada (10/5): Truly a 5-star experience! - My 4th time to Venice and never have I experienced it so comfortably as I did at this property. Beautifully done palace. Great location, everywhere is a few minutes walk and located within a peaceful square. Super friendly and attentive staff. Spacious room with a high ceiling. They have an elevator for those who can’t take stairs. Amenities within the room including a Dyson blow dryer, coffee machine, fridge. They have their own water taxi dock. Oh and what a delicious breakfast! -

- Douglas (10/5): Palazzo Maria Formosa is a very lovely place to stay while in Venice. - This hotel was delightful! The facilities are exceptional, extremely clean and welcoming. The staff here were so kind and helpful, they made us really feel at home. We were unexpectedly upgraded to a larger room which we really enjoyed. The breakfast at the hotel was so good and the servers were very friendly They even had a box breakfast for us on the morning we had to leave so early when the restaurant was not yet open. They recommended great places to eat and how to get to them. We would absolutely return. It was like being with family. Campo Maria Formosa is a great location, centrally located, San Marco and the Rialto are easily walkable. The water taxi can take you right to the hotel doorstep!
