- Kim (10/5): Absolutely loved our stay in The Barrel Room on Shawwood Estate, we had a great weekend there. - The location was very convenient, the room was beautifully decorated and extremely well equipped. It was lovely and clean and the owners left treats for us to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back. We highly recommend Shawwood Estate. The lounges could be a bit more comfy for guests who just want to hang out at the estate - but the lounges they have are very nice and visually appealing.

During my stay it was quiet and perfect for early morning walks and relaxing into the evening watching the sun set. Perfect location if you would like a little more privacy . Unit was perfect, spacious excellent layout and everything i needed. Highly recommend - I will look to stay here again should my travels bring me back to this region Only disappointment was i should have stayed longer.

We were 2 couples that stayed in the 2 room villa. So much space to relax and enjoy our time there. It was one of the best appointed places I have stayed, great attention to detail. The property itself is stunning- we enjoyed feeding the horses, visiting the sheep and exploring the farm. - Kimberly (10/5): Five star dog friendly stay. - Beautiful property looks to be fairly new. A good size living and bedroom area plenty of room. Bedroom comes set up with 2 bag stands at the end of the bed which is great so you don’t have to trip over your bags on the floor. Great size walk in shower with rain head and hand held option. Kitchen is well equipped with quality pots, cups, plates, cutlery etc so nice to see rather than the usual cheap Kmart options. Everything you need, great bbq outside with table & chairs. Also fitted with a washing machine/dryer combo which is great when you’re travelling. Gorgeous very private accommodation despite there being 3 other units all connected very tastefully and well designed. Would highly recommend. Also dog friendly which was great. Nothing everything was perfect.

It was beautifully and thoughtfully set-up (everything you need) plus extras including a bottle of wine and rocky road from the hosts. It was incredibly spacious, relaxing and the hosts were always available if we needed them. The outback view from the lounge room was amazing as were the sunsets. The perfect country getaway. Nothing

The open plan for the lounge, dining and kitchen was so comfortable and inviting. There was an outdoor seating area that was private and allowed us to enjoy the peace and quite of the area. The bed was large and comfortable and the open bathroom, shower provided space. The property and gardens were well maintained. We enjoyed the horses who allowed contact and greeted us each day. As we are dog lovers, we enjoyed the daily greeting by the 4 legged residents. This is a place that invites to return for a longer stay. The flies......

Location of the property is fantastic if you're looking to visit the wineries and local town in Mudgee, very close to everything - 5-10 minute drive. Will definitely be back again :)

We had 2 large dogs with us and we always felt safe and comfortable. Dogs had a great time sniffing around, and we loved just staying in at night relaxing in the gorgeous space. Very close to town, too. The guest portal made everything so easy to understand, and we really appreciated the little touches ☺️ Leaving!! We want to come back.

Lovely to have the generous wine and chocolates gifts, that was a really nice and unexpected touch Bed comfortable Not very homely feeling due to the large open living dining space with smallish furniture, particularly the dining table Wardrobe tiny. Was ok for 2 nights but not if you wanted to stay for longer. Maybe adding a chest of drawers would help with that. No tea bags, just tea leaves No milk frother for Nespresso machine Light streamed in under blind at top of bed. This meant we were woken by sunlight from 6am Would have liked body lotion in the bathroom Nearly got locked out twice as the outside door handle needed pushing up when entering, then down. - Farnaz (10/5): Lovely getaway - We went for a quiet getaway for my birthday, the location was lovely and the villa was beautifully decorated, it was much larger than we expected. I was there with my senior parents and my senior dog so getting around the property was quite easy for everyone. Parking just outside was very convenient. The kitchen had all the necessities which was very handy even though the location isn’t far from the town centre we did more cooking than eating out, though the hosts did provide some very well thought out recommendations of where to eat and where to go. I really loved how eco friendly the estate was as well. There’s wasn’t anything we didn’t like, by way of feedback maybe making the it a bit clearer on how to turn on the stove or the heated tiles in the bathroom but that was more down to us not being used to the designs vs the actual property 😊

Artwork and decorative elements throughout as well as extra blankets, picnic rugs made the accommodation feel like home. Melissa left some locally made rocky road as a welcome which was a nice touch. The unit is well insulated, despite sub-zero temperatures outside overnight, we hardly used the heating. There was underfloor heating which I suspect helped. There was nothing we didn't like.

The Shawwood Estate Ap made planning our days easy and plenty of information was provided by the hosts. Could not fault the place.

We added the breakfast hamper and it was fantastic. The rooms seem very new and clean with a great location just out of town but right near some vineyards. The underfloor heating and heated towel rails in the bathroom were such a great feature as we were staying in the middle of winter. The beds are very soft. Not my preferred option but some people would love them.

- Jane (10/5): Had a lovely time and would stay at Shawwood Estate again. - The cottage was in a good location, just out of town and nice and quiet. Eventhough other units were attached, we didn't hear anyone else. The towel heaters and the underfloor heating in the bathroom kept us warm. The unit on the whole was very warm. The kitchen was well appointed. The bed was also very comfortable. We would definitely go there again if heading to Mudgee and we would certainly recommend to our family and friends. When we first entered there was a strong doggy smell which bothered my nose but my husband was fine. We have an electric car so an outdoor electric socket or a charger would have been amazing. Saying that we did find a quick NRMA charger conveniently in town.

Property was beautiful and we loved the fire pit. Great location, close to town yet private and rural. To be picky, the lounge could have been a little larger and more comfortable as we wanted to chill out and watch a movie and it was too small.

Farms and wineries around, yet so close to Mudgee city center. Bed was very comfy. Super clean rooms and bathroom. We really felt like home. Such a beautiful, welcoming place. “Rocky road” was a delight on our way back home. Thank you. We had to go back home.

The complimentary welcome wine and rocky road were much appreciated. Great information provided to supplement the excellent facilities. We travel with our dog and everything about the stay made us feel welcome. The property was well placed to visit many places around Mudgee.

Plus a beautiful spacious living area. We were travelling with our dog and even she was happy!! Plus we loved the location: just a few minutes from town, but really quiet (we wanted that country escape feeling!) Loved it all!

- Chloe (10/5): I hope we get the opportunity to return to Shawwood Estate and enjoy this beautifully appointed accommodation, possibly - We stayed in ‘The Winery’ villa which has 2 beds and 2 baths, the space was much larger than we expected and was beautifully styled and clean on our arrival. We comfortably had 4 adults and a small dog in the space and it did not feel cramped at all. The villa has under floor heating and heated towel rails for those who stay in the colder months which would be beautiful in the cold. In the warmer months the villa has air conditioning and fans which helps keep the place cool. The fact we could bring our dog along was a huge plus for this accommodation! The accommodation is situated on a great property that you can roam around, horses and sheep located at neighboring properties too which was lovely. Communication with the hosts was great, they’re very responsive and able to give great information on local attractions, which was very helpful with planning. The accommodation is a few minute drive from town and situated on a road close to a number of wineries! Nothing to do with the property but unfortunately a lot of places are closed over the Christmas/New Year period in Mudgee. Having a full kitchen available and all the basics was amazing to be able to cook yummy food whilst we were there and when places weren’t open.
