Attractive building in a nice, rural town No sign of the bottle of wine in the room description...
There was an intermittant low noise from some machine in the building during the otherwise quiet night

- Eleanor (9/5): Our first stay but will definitely not be our last travelling between Sydney and Melbourne - Clean and restaurant within soooo handy Mattress was on the softer side for us
- Jim (8/5): - Beautiful renovated hotel and rooms The air conditioning units for the restaurant and bar are located on the rooftop right next to the window in the room and run most of the night
- Jennifer (8/5): Nice property. - Easy access even though there were no staff around. Air conditioning units are immediately outside the window of Room 2, so we had to put up with their noise all night. I certainly wouldn’t want that room again.
- James (10/5): -
- Leigh (10/5): Very comfortable. Well appointed and an excellent bistro attached - Beautifully appointed

The pizza arrive and was eaten before the steak arrived The steak was well done and tough When I took the issues to the staff they argued with me After speaking to Two staff members with no satisfaction I was approached by another staff member I again explained my issue and the price of the meal was refunded.

Food in the bistro fantastic! Rooms not serviced daily but not a huge deal.
- Simon (9/5): - An elevator to the upper level was appreciated, short walk to In house restaurant very pleasant accommodation The room had two single beds, would have preferred a double bed.
- Derek (8/5): - Lovely old building. Well restored - delightful interior
Food menus v good and food itself well cooked & very tasty In room 3, there are 4 larger AC compressors on the ground floor below the windows - noisy at night off and on

- Susan (9/5): - The hotel has been beautifully renovated. All was great
- Anne (5/5): - It was sad that the bridal couple who booked in 5 months before they were moved to a hotel roo, due to renovations, instead of the historic hotel for their special night.
- Reece (10/5): Holbrook Oasis - Always stop here between Sydney and Melbourne. Great beers and wines and the food is excellent Maybe time to update to a bigger TV in the room since TVs are pretty cheap these days
- Carolynne (10/5): -
- Marcella (10/5): Beautiful country hotel with luxury touches - Beautifully renovated maintaining the lovely character of the hotel. Sparkling clean, fabulous shower. Comfy bed. Meal in bistro excellent. We had the local farm scotch fillet which was perfectly cooked to our liking. Would definitely recommend this hotel. A bit of confusion when we arrived as the hotel was not yet open so we needed to collect the key pass from the motel further down the road. But easily managed via a phone call.
- Reece (10/5): Holbrook Hotel Half Way Haven - Great place to stay half way between Sydney and Melbourne. The food is amazing and an extensive selection of beers and wines to make it even more special. Room was spacious, newly renovated and a lovely bath room. Restaurant opened a bit late for breakfast if you need to get on your way, especially if you need to get to Geelong to catch the Tassie ferry. Even if it opened at 7am it would be fine.
- Neil (9/5): Good - That you could not open window as it was locked and bathroom did not have fly screens not available to have fresh air instead of the a/c
- Geoff (9/5): Beautifully updated historic hotel with great paddock to plate restaurant - Authentic heritage feel, with modern room facilities. Comfortable and quiet. Terrific restaurant serving produce from the farm of the owner. Nice quiet location, very close to the freeway. Nothing
- Catherine (10/5): -

- Justin (10/5): -
- Rod (8/5): -

- James (9/5): A lovely spot for all the submarine crew vets - Very clean and pleasant staff Nothing
- Fiona (9/5): Pleasant stay - Modern style in an historic building. Nicely done. Bathroom had a smell but wasn’t too bad if you shut the door and put the exhaust fan on.
A little noisy until the pub closed and again in the morning.
- Greg (6/5): Disturbed sleep - No breakfast offered Noise control. Told partying would conclude at 10pm. Didn’t cease until well after midnight, then there was cleanup noises. Disappointing.
- Evan (10/5): -
- Orson (8/5): -
- ERIC (8/5): Great hotel , clean and well modernised, great staff - Left before breakfast was served Hotel heating could have been turned up in the bar and the dining area
- James (9/5): -

- John (8/5): overnight stay and would stay again - only stayed overnight, had dinner and went to bed. can't complain about anything, room was clean, staff were very nice and the meal was good
- Barry (8/5): -
- Potts (8/5): Holbrook Pub - Room was clean and comfortable, great dinner at the pub. Room decor was excellent as was the bathroom. our only window opened onto the back of the main bar downstairs and there was a slight smell from drain in our shower. We had two rooms and the other one was on the other side of the hotel and was great.
- Kevin (7/5): -
- Alan (10/5): Great 👍 - Everything was great, clean, bed was comfortable. Nothing all good will stay again when on the way to Melbourne
- Sophie (9/5): GREAT place to stay! - Great location and place to stay, staff great and good room - very spacious bathroom. Be aware that as this is in a hotel there can sometimes be noise from the pub itself in the evening as rooms are next to function room upstairs.
- Alan (10/5): -
- Geoffrey (9/5): My stay was quite acceptable and convenient for stopover between Melbourne and Sydney - Was impressed by the hotel standard of renovation and the staff were well presented and friendly
Selected the old favourite, sausages and mash for lunch, mash and gravy very tasy however the sausages were dissapointing very tough and chewy.
Steak chips and salad for dinner were fine
Due to the need to leave early I didn't have breakfast Lunch sausages were dissapointing very tough and chewy,
- Chloe (10/5): -
- Gregory Dodd (6/5): - Nice bathroom. The upstairs balcony is a very nice place to eat and have a drink. The beds are comfortable. The pillows stunk of body odour.
We couldn't use the outside upstairs balcony after 10 pm which meant we basically had to stay in the room. Apparently it's a security feature but once upstairs you're now a paid in full guest. If you crossed a roped section an alarm is activated and you're charged $250! On a warm night it would have been nice to sit out.
The fridge was very noisy and kept us awake. The meals were overpriced and small. Beer was quite expensive too. Can't open windows for fresh air.
- Elaine (9/5): Excellent location. Beautiful renovation. We will definitely rebook. - Beautifully restored boutique hotel. Very impressed. Great location right across from the submarine. Has a great coffee cafe/ bistro and outside areas. Loved the deck upstairs for a sunny afternoon drink. Exceptional fittings and bed linen. Bathroom was lovely and good size. Meals were good too. Can’t think of anything negative- we were impressed with it all.
- Alan (8/5): Disappointing - The accomodation was excellent. We were not told the hotel would be closed on New Years Day until after our payment was taken. We deliberately chose the hotel because of the food access & not having to leave the premises to enjoy a drink. It was v disconcerting to pick up a door key from under a back door mat.
- DG (9/5): -

- Alan Williams (6/5): Bring ear plugs! - Good food, nicely renovated, good bathroom Very noisy on a Friday night (we had earplugs so still slept). Very small room. Air conditioner not up to the job of cooling the very hot room.
- Margaret (10/5): - Holbrook Hotel is great place to stay between Melbourne and Sydney. The room was clean and comfotable and the meals at the hotel are excellent.
- Jennifer (10/5): A little paradise on the long drive from Geelong to Narooma. - Where do I start. It was almost the best place I’ve ever stayed. Comfortable in every way. Great food, and reasonable prices. There was absolutely nothing to complain about.

- Nicole (7/5): Would stay again but not in Room 1 due to the noise from the bar area below. - Clean, tidy I stayed in Room 1 - lovely large bed/bedroom and ensuite. Two large windows overlooking the bar area. Would benefit from double glazing to reduce noise transfer into room.
