Guest Reviews
- Zam (10/5): Wonderful - Staff were friendly and helpful.
Glamping was worth of money
Unlimited private barrel at night Would be great if there was a cooktop
- Sinead (9/5): -
- Michaela (10/5): -
- Sarwari (8/5): -
- Yimeng (10/5): Amazing! Will be back! - Perfect for a little getaway from the city and self-care for birthday! Have already recommended to friends/families and would definitely come back! Although it's 4-5 hours' drive from Melbourne but absolutely worth it! Only one thing, the operating hours for different pools for the glamping guests weren't very clear, we've heard mixed info but didn't hurt much.
- claire (10/5): Fantastic, high quality accommodation - Clean and beautifully presented. So chilled and not massively busy
The staff were incredibly helpful
Breakfast was delicious.
The hot springs were excellent
The bed was so comfortable A bit tricky getting up and down the stairs if you have mobility problems, however the excellent staff were able to suggest alternative pools and used the buggy to get there. It’s just to be aware that you may not get the full experience
- Andrea (9/5): - Wonderful retreat - loved the balcony barrels and the tawny frogmouth Theodore! Was annoying we couldn’t order the grazing box without having to stuff around with amending the initial booking. 🤷♀️ Why couldn’t we just pay the additional cost on arrival?

- Florence (10/5): Enjoyed our time here very much. Highly recommend a visit to enjoy a relaxing stay. - Our glamping tent had everything we needed. It was very clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable.
The hot springs and the rest of the facilities were absolutely amazing.
- Jennifer (9/5): -
- Karine (10/5): Pricey and a drive but totally worth the splurge - totally decadent - Incredible experience If I had 2 find something 2 be picky about, The balcony tubs were lovely but took a long time to fill and not warm enough and the zipper for the glamping open was tricky 2 manoeuvre - given the balcony a glass door would have been incredible. We stayed 3 nights and breakfast was the same every morning- some variety would have been nice. But these are just because I’m asked what I didn’t like! The staff were incredible and the place is just exceptional, would highly recommend
- Matt (10/5): -
- Bruce (10/5): -
- Shiau Die (10/5):

- Jason (7/5): A touch of luxury - Seems unique, with lots of luxurious touches. The environment is very enjoyable and relaxing. An ideal location for our road trip. Not any options in-house for food. Went to local town, a different experience.
- Evgeniya (10/5): - Atmosphere. So cozy😍Really like this spa❤️

- Rebecca (5/5): Overall would not recommend staying if you are a private person, who likes to sleep with nature sounds only. - The springs and bathing pools are amazing and the accomodation itself was nice and clean. Wildlife we had a bird that hung out on our tent. If you are looking for relaxation and peacefulness with nature this is not the place, as mentioned in other reviews the tents are too close to each other and we had a very unpleasant couple in the neighbouring tent that spent 4 hours groaning and carrying on loudly next door, even with the ear plugs and calling out for them to be quiet we could still hear everything and started up at 11pm it made for the worst sleep I think I have ever had in my life. There is no one onsite that you can even ask for help after 6pm for them to keep the noise down.
With the cost of $680 for 1 night, I expected a lot better and peaceful experience for my 10th Wedding Anniversary.

- Jeff (10/5): We had a great stay, the breakfast hamper was amazing - Everything was just perfect Nothing
- Kashef (10/5): -
- Karen (9/5): - Perfect place to relax combining a natural setting with a bit of luxury.
The breakfast (vegetarian) was outstanding! Good views from the top of the hill and a variety of spaces to relax. We would have liked another night's stay.
- Katherine (10/5): Very relaxing and charming stay - Accommodation was amazing. Clean and everything f you would want and need for comfort. Tents feel very private. Breakfast was great and staff were exceptional. Quite busy across the hot spring baths with people visiting for day passes. Was nice to have extra private time in baths for guests staying in accommodation (as well as own private barrels).

- Belinda (8/5): Loved it and everything was amazing, but probably go Monday to Thursday if you’re looking for a relaxing nature experien - The location and natural surrounds were beautiful. The barrel hot tubs in the tents were amazing! Very comfortable beds and if you want somewhere to relax with the hot springs and wake up with the birds, this is the perfect place. There is more development coming which will make it even better. It would have been a 10 except the glamping tents are too close to each other. You have privacy, but you can hear every word. Given they have gone with that design, I would have preferred they be more strict with those staying respecting others around. First night was amazing, but the second night had a noisey group of 4 next to me. Were they that bad, no. But given the price you are paying for what is meant to be a relaxing get away, they probably need someone on site of a night and maybe ask people to be conscious.
- Amelia (10/5): -
- Angela (10/5): Absolutely amazing - Everything was amazing, the staff were really friendly, the beds are so comfortable. Hot Springs were absolutely divine. I could have spent hours sitting in the hot springs.
- Murray (9/5): Great - Breakfast was great location fantastic and the alternative living quarters were great overall a very pleasant experience and stay.
- Chloe (8/5): -
- Antony (10/5): -
- Philip (8/5): A bit too expensive for what you get. It is nice but I’m not sure it was worth it. - Loved the private barrels on the private deck.
Eating breakfast and chilling on the deck was lovely. Access to facilities were only available until 6pm, while checkin is at 3. It doesn’t give you a lot of time to enjoy them. In the morning you have time from 9am but checkout at 10. Ok they allow you to stay until 12 but once you’ve packed up and everything it’s a little inconvenient.
Also no treatments were available on the days we were there which was disappointing.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Really enjoyed our night, beautiful setting and the barrels are a bonus, rooms lovely with everything you need, thank yo - Beautiful glamping in nature
- Cristiana (10/5): Very relaxing and beautiful - Everything! It was amazing Na
- Dung (10/5): - Very friendly staff. The tent and barrels on the decking were amazing!
- Tania (10/5): -
- Adi (10/5): -
- Godino (10/5): Fabulous, relaxing and suprised by the added inclusions such as Prosecco in the fridge and free coffee & tea! This w - Stunning in every way Nothing
- Jin (10/5): -
- jonathan (10/5): Gorgeous! - Absolutely fabulous couple of days we had. The hot springs are fabulous, grounds lovely, staff amazing and glamping could not have been nicer. We will be back! 🙂🙏 Later use for people staying or even night time bathing would be a real plus
- Magtibay (10/5): -
- Marisa (10/5): We loved it and will recommend to family and friends. - The bed was very comfortable, loved watching the turtles, eels, tawny frogmouth and ducks. Nothing
- Andrea (10/5): -
- An (10/5): -
- Kate (7/5): A lovely escape - but very crowded - The experience of staying in a glamping tent overlooking a lake is magical. It's pricey - but was one of those special occasions that we will remember forever. The barrels are great and we loved sitting in them for a few hours. In the morning we awoke to see a turtle and an owl right near our tent. This was very special. The inside of the tent was spotless, but the outside could do with some cleaning. I know it's outdoors, but there were a lot of spider webs and the balcony railings hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The private accommodation was great, but the hot springs themselves were just way too crowded. We couldn't get into a single pool from 2pm-5pm there was just way too many people. We managed the sauna and a cold plunge, which was great, but we weren't willing to share the small pool spaces with so many people. I also think children ruin the peaceful nature of the hot springs experience. They are everywhere and it's not the kind of environment where they can sit quietly like an adult. The breakfast was plentiful but we would have preferred more savoury - there were a lot of sweet things. Also, the barrels lose their heating after 7pm and we couldn't use them again until 8am. This was a shame as we would have stayed out longer if we could have had more heat.

- Maria (10/5): Amazing stay - Everything was great from when we checked in. The staff were lovely and welcoming especily Leigh and Jaime. The pools were great especially the private barrels in the room. Leaving. Wish we stayed longer.
- Jackie (10/5): Its a must do! - Everything..the glamping was so lovely with the tubs on the deck, the breakfast was delicious as was the snack packs. The whole experience I highly recommend. The bed was super comfy and the room was beautiful
- James (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): Very relaxing , glamping was a great - Lots of trees and wildlife
- Callum (10/5): -
- Yi Ling (8/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): Fun staying in a tent. Loved the bird noises at night! - Breakfast was quite nice. I liked the fresh fruit and the frittata
- Tosan (9/5): -
- Tammie (10/5): -
- Leanne (7/5): Would go back for day sessions only - The property was beautiful I don’t think the staff were very friendly apart from one working on the the day we arrived ,
Not very helpful and don’t accommodate people staying overnight for their dinner options
- geoffruthhuddersfield (8/5): We enjoyed it but it could be better. Metung village is a short car ride away and is a lovely place. - The nature, the location, staff andvof course the hot springs. Glamping tent very cleanand confortable. We expected better of the breakfast which was delivered to our tent each day.
The heating system was inadequate to keep us comfortable on two of the three nights we were there when it became cool.
The tent needed a torch which is an essential around the area at night.
Too expensive and sadly they allocated our room to someone else in error and we were give an alternative which I suspect was inferior. The receptionist seemed quite embarrassed about it all.
- Claudia (10/5): - Unique and special stay
- Catherine (9/5): Very romantic relaxing night away - Great facilities , love the thermal pools & barrels . Glamping tents amazing
- Christina (7/5): Birthday surprise for my husband was very comfortable - Lovely and comfortable There was no tv, there is only so much bathing and loving you can do lol also would be great if there was an outdoor cooker so we didn’t have to leave to go get food but we had a comfy stay was very relaxing
- Patricia (10/5): -
- Pearce (8/5): It was definitely the highlight of our trip! - We loved having our breakfast delivered in the morning without needed to think about it. We loved having our room keys on our wrist
Staff were super helpful and accomodating No dinner service so we had to figure it out after already arriving and checking in
A few of the baths were out of action so it didn’t feel like we got the most bang for our buck
The public path went right behind our tent so we didn’t feel very private until later in the evening when the springs had closed
- Alexandra (10/5): A great place to unwind surrounded by nature. - The grounds are beautiful and full of wildlife and native plants that were landscaped in a way that felt natural. The staff were all super accommodating. The hot springs had great facilities and the tent was equipped with everything you need. The bed was extremely comfortable and the private bathing barrels were a great addition. Some of the pools were unfortunately closed for maintenance and some young children were playing and screaming in the pools which somewhat ruined the ambiance. Maybe a dedicated children’s play area could help.
- Maree (10/5): Awesome. Coming back again - Evdrything N/a
- alice (10/5): Already planning a second visit - Amazing stay, definitely will be back. If camping can be this comfortable, then I can be an outdoorzie girl. Private yet outdoors. All the necessary appliances, even an aircon! Warm welcome from Jamie. The one sink for everything thing, but hey, it’s camping so it could have been worse.
- Melissa (10/5): - The staff were exceptional. The breakfast was wonderful. We were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable the glamping tent was.
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Kristen (10/5): Absolutely brilliant. Loved every minute of it. - This place is absolutely first rate and stunningly beautiful. Everything - the landscaping, the plants, the views, the baths, the atmosphere, the friendly staff, the quiet, the beds, the spa barrels in the rooms, the small touches (chocolate, bath crystals, Prosecco etcetc., Barista coffee whenever we asked for it). We arrived an hour early and staff were happy to have us start bathing. We had four hours to enjoy all the pools the first day, then an hour in the morning after a lovely, generous breakfast. We even had a friendly Tawny Frogmouth who sat outside the window all day and night. And we wère welcome to stay and bathe after checkout until 12 noon. I thought $490 was expensive when I originally booked but all of this for two people - I actually think it’s great value. There was nothing I didn’t like but I think written information in the rooms (rather than QR code) would be helpful. We had to hunt for information that could have been easily communicated on paper. We got the impression for example that the ‘stargazing pool’ meant we could go up the top and bath at night but discovered the outside baths are turned off at six. Then we discovered they’ll be pools don’t open in the morning until 9 am. Fair enough but it would be good to make it clearer when the pools are open and closed.
- Meg (9/5): A relaxing stay - It was a relaxing stay. The only issue was you can hear the other glampers. When one tent is having a loud conversation at midnight it can be disruptive.
- Chew Peng (9/5): -
- deyi (10/5): -
- Jieyu (8/5): -
- Seb (8/5): Relaxing! - The location was great and the staff were really welcoming. I really appreciated the complimentary coffees at checkout a small touch that made the whole experience feel less stressful, especially with the long drive ahead. Everything was easy and hassle-free, which made the visit even better. The location is beautiful and the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming. Small touches like the complimentary coffees at checkout really stood out they made the departure feel easy and thoughtful, especially with a long drive ahead. The overall experience was smooth and stress-free, which is exactly what you want from a getaway.
Where things could be improved is around the timings. With check-in at 2pm, by the time you settle in it’s close to 2:45, and the hot springs close at 6pm. For people traveling three hours from Melbourne, that makes the first day feel rushed which doesn’t leave much time to enjoy a relaxed soak and de-compress from a long drive.
A simple solution would be to allow earlier check-in (from 1pm) and offer a later checkout option at 11am. That way guests could have a proper morning dip, then enjoy breakfast without feeling like they’re on the clock. You could even charge a small fee (say $50) for the late checkout — guests would happily pay it, and the business would earn more while improving the experience.
I completely understand it’s a regional location, but the trip is a commitment for many visitors. Extending the hours, even slightly, would turn a good stay into a truly memorable one. Guests come here to slow down and recharge, and giving just a bit more time would make that possible.
- Kathleen (10/5): A must to visit and stay - Everything, its amazing relaxing stay and the breakfast box the next morning was fabulous, so worth the money That l cannot live there permanently 😕
- Kaylene (7/5): Loved it but if I was coming in winter again I'd stay somewhere warmer. - Breakfast was great. Location was fantastic. Loved all the pools. The middle of winter is a bit too cold in a safari tent.
- Alison (9/5): A very special unique experience - The staff were very helpful. The glamping tents were great with excellent facilities. There were no hair dryers in the showers.
- Ed (9/5): Perfect for couples but not family-friendly - Hot springs, nature, and a great bed to enjoy Not particularly private, as you’ll be able to hear the activities taking place
- Hoefler (10/5): - I booked this as a thank you to Jana a project manager who just completed a major job at Bainsdale. Jana and her partner absolulty loved it. Thank you for making her experiance memorable and Jana really appreciated that the company recognised her excellent job. That Jana could not stay for 2 nights.
- Julie (10/5): Very relaxing stay. - The warm welcome, friendly staff. The unique accommodation and of course the hot springs. It was all very good 😀
- Judi (9/5): I’d highly recommend glamping at Metung Hot Springs. It was lovely and I’d happily return. - Hot springs were very impressive. The glamping tent exceeded my expectations. Warm in mid-winter, good shower, very comfy bed. It was private and a relaxing experience. It would’ve been good to have been advised to book the dinner hamper more than 24hrs before it was needed - as I’d booked the glamping experience quite a bit in advance. Nobody mentioned the 9 holes of golf that was supposed to be included or told us that we could arrive and bathe before the 3pm check in time or stay until midday the day we checked out. I think this was a failure of booking.com.
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yen (10/5): This is the most satisfying place I have ever lived. - The staff turned on the heater in the room in advance, which was really good and kept us warm in the winter.
- Jennifer (10/5): Loved loved loved the hot springs and glamping! Would highly recommend to everyone. So relaxing! - Everything was more than awesome! Loved every moment. They didn’t have any dinner options available but we managed!
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kacie (9/5): Superb -
- John (10/5): John and Jules - June 2025 - A truly exceptional and relaxing few days.
The private hot barrels are brilliant, and the isolated upper level pool we enjoyed after 6pm was special. A very minor criticism, and we do mean minor , is that as we stayed in our beautiful Lagoon front Tent (No. 3) for 4 nights, the included breakfast did lack a variety of choice. and was to be blunt, repetisious.
- Brett (9/5): Beautiful, relaxing night stay - The breakfast was amazing. Exceeded our expectations. The tents were beautiful and warm. The tent the massages were in was lovely. The tents were a little close and our neighours were quiet noisy.
The tent the massages were in was next to a track whivch people walked along being noisy, especially children.
This made the massage experience not as great as expected. They need to block that area off or turn the music up in the tent.
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
