Guest Reviews
- Sherley (8/5): Huge room and beautiful bathroom - They don't do breakfast No laundry facilities
- tanya (10/5): -
- tanya (10/5): - Staff were very efficient and friendly . Rooms were roomy and comfortable Parking, was a busy night and parking was a long way down the street
- Jodi (8/5): Lovely and comfortable . - The location was lovely. Close to town. The beds were comfortable, and the room was large with a lovely bathroom. Nothing
- Kahvazadeh (9/5): Lovely place in the Perth hills - The room and bathroom was spacious. It was very clean. The facility in the room was more than I expected. The bar and restaurant with lovely food and service made our stay memorable. The free distilleries product test was a plus point. The electric kettle was dated. One of the side bed lamps didn't work.
- Rita (8/5): Good stopping off stop in Mundaring. - Having stayed there before we knew what to expect. Made a booking at the restaurant- which had been inadvertently been over booked - but they made special arrangements for us to dine in . They also provided a free gin tasting plate and free drink with our dinner. Thanks very much for owning the error. The free to air TV was difficult to navigate. No instructions in room as a guide.
- TAMAKI (10/5): -
- Scott (10/5): - Staff were amazing!
- Chapman (10/5): - Perfect place to stay
- Justin (10/5): -
- Stuart (10/5): -
- philip (9/5): - Lovely place.
Would give it 10 if breakfast was available. Only lack of breakfast.
- Regina (9/5): Tolle Unterkunft - Nette Unterkunft, tolles Zimmer und Restaurant
- hayley (10/5): Gem of a hotel. Great restaurant. Attentive staff. Delicious food. Convenient for Perth airport - Breakfast is not available at the property. We enjoyed a lovely dinner and the complimentary gin flight was a lovely treat. The staff were so attentive from the moment we arrived. Room was very large, bathroom was exceptional. Decor lovely. Perfect end to our tour of WA Nothing.
- Bronwyn (9/5): Loved it.would go back - The vibe was fantastic. Families, friends. Just enjoying the surrounding. The shower was very low pressure. That’s my only complaint
- Brendan (10/5): Beautiful location accommodation was sensational loved before post to bed gin distillery, amazing bar and restaurant wer - The ambience and the amazing staff A little noisy with the traffic while in the big garden but still beautiful out there and the staff were so good
- Wayne (10/5): This is a great place to stay. Quiet, great food and the staff were fantastic throughout. - No breakfast available but we were supplied with very good options about 3 kilometres away It is a very busy place, and you need to book a table for dinner that we were not aware of.
- elizabeth-ann (9/5): - Fantastic pub and location with trees all around the beer garden. Nice live music every night and the menu is delicious. The room was a little dated and the single bed not the most comfortable, but the bathrooms were modern and the room very clean.
- Sarah (9/5): Love staying here such an awesome vibe - I love the bar is attached to the inn. Always an excellent vibe
- Catherine (8/5): Except for the parking, good place to stay. - The location is good. Lovely old property, the Inn is gorgeous. Food is very good and the friendly helpful staff. It is generally very quiet as the pub/restaurant isn’t open that late. The parking for guests. It isn’t a designated parking area for guests, although they tell you to park in the upper car park. There is no signage designating it as guest parking only. So most days, if you get back around 5/6, you have to find a park on the side road. Then later, when the Inn has closed, go out and move your vehicle off the road. Parking at the venue is sparse and it’s a popular local eatery.
- Kerry (8/5): Excellent spot in the Perth hills. - Large spacious rooms & bathroom.
Restaurant offers excellent menu.
Live music
- Amanda (8/5): - Refurbished room na
- Pennie (8/5): Very comfortable and in a beautiful setting. - Spacious room and huge bathroom. Comfortable bed, staff were friendly but discreet. Tea and coffee facilities in room plus fridge, iron. Quiet despite proximity to main road.
Bar and restaurant on site with lovely outside eating areas.
- Kevin (10/5): Lovely place to stay - The Quietness and ease of parking
- Zelda (10/5): It was a pleasure to stay there - Spacious, clean, beautiful, luxurious I just wish they sent out the email earlier out of the checking in time, I was at a spot where the reception was bad and got the email too late.
- DT (9/5): O - The common areas were stunning with mid century furniture, great service at the bar and at table. Good food and drink selection and well pesented Nothing to mention
- Emily (4/5): It was fine, won’t be recommending to people. - I enjoyed how rustic the property is We left for a few hours to go elsewhere and came back to no parking, we had to drive up the road and park on a hill away from the inn which I was not impressed about.
I believe paying guests should get priority parking, especially for $270 a night.
The bathroom was also extremely humid and the constant dampness of the floor was extremely overstimulating.
- James (10/5): - Very clean and modern
- Jodie (10/5): -
- Lesley (10/5): Loved it, will definitely be back - Beautiful old building with well appointed modern rooms.
Great location and lovely surrounds
- Darren (10/5): A very enjoyable stay. Lovely staff and the gin and vodka were delicious..👌🏼😁 - Great Location for the event we attended. Unique History and very well appointed rooms. Nothing comes to mind.
- Tim (3/5): Smells muffy, windows were locked. Not a full kitchen. - The appartement were very big, clean and with vintage style but comfortable furniture. The service personnel was very friendly and helpful.
One positive thing: The free Gin and Vodka tasting padddle included was nice. The kitchen is not usable for self cooking, because there is no stove or oven. Only a electic pan. Cooking with it is very limited.
But the biggest problem was, that the rooms smells very muffy. Which should not be a problem, if the windows in the living room and bedroom were not locked to get fresh air in. We asked several service personnal, which was very friendly and helpful, but its not possible to open the windows.
- Sarah (10/5): Thoroughly recommended - Huge, spacious room. So much storage space and spotlessly clean . Every single member of staff that we met was very friendly and helpful . Delicious evening meal . All round excellent
- Kevin (9/5): Excellent service and clean rooms - We didn't have breakfast
- Natalie (9/5): Enjoyed the stay, lovely room. - There was little noise. Very comfortable bed and lovely big bathroom. Great to have access to iron and hairdryer. Glad there was a spare blanket, as I replaced the quilt with the blanket. There wasn't a lot of parking, but I eventually got a park in the upper carpark for the night.
- Debbie-Ann (9/5): - The enviroment and excellant dinning. Food was amazin. The bed matress was really soft like it was quiet old and worn.
- Maike (10/5): -
- Doug (10/5): -
- Jeannine (8/5): Lovely hostelry for short stay. - Despite proximity to road, this place had a calm relaxing atmosphere outside. Our room faced onto the courtyard but the blinds provided privacy without blocking light or view. Very much appreciated the blackout curtains at night. Bed was really comfortable and bed linen pristine. Even the decorative cushions on the bed smelled clean and fresh! We had dinner at the Inn which was up to standard and good value. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Mahogany Inn to anyone. We understand there is regular live music here which is a bonus. Would have appreciated USB point for recharging phones. Make sure you have a plug with USB or power pack if you visit . Breakfast not available here which is a shame as the courtyard at the back or verandah on the front of the Inn would be ideal for relaxing breakfast. Comparable places in UK usually include breakfast in this price range.
- Mark (9/5): Would definitely come back again :) - I liked how seamless and easy the check in was, and staff were very friendly. Not much to do within walking distance, no food option for Monday's unless you get in the car and drive somewhere
- Keith (9/5): -
- John (7/5): Lovely historic building, however the huge issues with parking made the overnight stay difficult - Restaurant food and service is very good. Lovely atmosphere. Accommodation is clean and comfortable, room is large and reasonably well appointed Carparking for accommodation requires reassessment. Information is provided as to where to park, access to the rooms, codes for doors etc., however general patrons coming to the venue, for dinner or functions, park is the area outlined for overnight guests. We had to park on the road, a significant distance from our accommodation and carrying luggage that distance was inconvenient to say the least. A sign outlining overnight guest accommodation parking only would be a start to solving this problem. We were not the only overnight guest that night to suffer this inconvenience.
Not catering for breakfast is a bit of an issue. A kettle is provided, with tea + coffee, however a toaster would be handy.
- Renato (10/5): -
- Michaela (10/5): Fantastic once again - Our 4th stay and we were not disappointed. Such a fabulous place with everything you need, well appointed rooms, bar and restaurant facilities all set in a simply beautiful grounds. The addition of the distillery makes this a 10/10! Nothing!
- Jean-Claude (10/5): Très agréable séjour - Personnel pro et agréable, hôtel chambres bar restaurant sans oublier les Gins à déguster ! Rien
- Ash (8/5): -
- Christine (10/5): -
- Sandra (6/5): Worth a visit to this interesting place. - Staff were very pleasant and well trained. The room was large and spotless. The bathroom spotless and modern. The building itself very interesting. Unfortunately we had a dreadful nights sleep due to the poor quality of the obviously well used mattress. At one stage ie 1am we debated whether to pack up and go home for a good nights sleep. Not having breakfast on site was very inconvenient, just a basic continental would have been fine.
- Melissa (10/5): The best hotel/motel we have stayed in for a very long time . Much better than some we have stayed in in the city - Everything!!!!
The location , the cleanliness, the size of the rooms , how comfortable the rooms were. The meals were fantastic. We actually could not say a bad word about our experience Nothing!!!!
- Perry (9/5): -
- Eric (10/5): -
- Amber (10/5): -
- Donna (9/5): - We didnt get breakfast Breakfast would of been the icing on the cake
- Michael (9/5): -
- Emmah (8/5): -
- Christine (10/5): Highly recoomended spot in Mundaring - The place was spotless with excellent costumer service. None at all
- Amelia (10/5): Highly recommend staying! - The staff, absolute stand out here! Everyone was so friendly and it really felt like they loved their jobs. The whole place had this beautiful sense of community. Location was lovely and the Deluxe King room, just WOW!!! The history, the gin, the comfort, and also the hot chips were really excellent!!
Next trip to the Perth region, instead of staying at The Westin, I'll be booking a few days at the Mahogany Inn & Distillery, it is the far superior option.
- Victoria (10/5): -
- Patrick (10/5): - Friendly staff. Quick check in. Place felt very homely - and first time I've slept in a four poster bed! Bonus accommodation with great live music down the hall. Nothing - it was ideal for what we wanted.
- Clinch (10/5): -
- Aaron (10/5): -
- Thania (10/5): Impeccable - First impressions: the place was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and polite. Definitely stay here again. Top marks !!
- Mark (10/5): Definitely recommend mahogany Inn to future travellers wonderful location and good old-fashioned accommodation with all - Cleanliness location and staff courtesy
- naing (8/5): -
- borg (10/5): We had an awesome night away. Afternnon drinks, then a lovely meal before a comedy show.loved it :) - The Mahogany Inn and Distillery is a beautiful place. Super friendly staff, delicious meals, and awesome gin !!!
Lovely beer garden with big trees shading the area. It has a great relaxing vibe, with so many different seating areas to relax away the hours in. We had a room for the night as we had tickets to a comedy show at the venue. The bed was super comfortable (better than home..haaa;) Our Room was clean and well serviced. We Cant wait to return.
- Rosemary (8/5): -
- Jennifer (8/5): Perfect weekend with my daughter - Good location and close to walks and places of interest. Beautiful surrounds

- Kellie (10/5): Quiet, comfortable and great food/drinks. - We love the accomodation, dining and entertainment variety. No complaints - everything was fab!
- Julie (8/5): -
- Royce (9/5): Great place to stay in the hills - Big room. Lovely bathroom Isolated location
- Morant (9/5): - Quiet N/A
- Evelyn (9/5): Lovely comfortable stay - Spacious room with comfortable bed. Beautiful bathroom and very quiet. Outside patio area needs attention.
- Daphne (7/5): Would have been good to talk to reception staff but no one ever at the desk. Pleasant stay but expensive. - Live music on two nights. Spacious room. Quiet. Room refreshed each day. Availability of dinner on site. Room was dark. No access to external courtyard from the room. Temperature difficult to control.
Left phone query regarding article left behind, twice, and no reply.

- Dave (10/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): - Concierge was very helpful, loved the tasting platter
- Ben Weistra (9/5): -
- Christian (9/5): -
- John (10/5): Beds felt like a cloud - The history behind the building, the food at the bar, the free tasting paddle was awesome. The beds were soooo comfy. The atmosphere with the guitarist it was a perfect stay I can’t write anything. It was a great place to stay.
- Christine (9/5): Nice place to stay - Comfy room and bed. Slept well No breakfast facilities
- Paul (10/5): - Fantastic for my needs - lovely staff and food.
- Linda (8/5): Enjoyable and always satisfying to come back to a fully serviced room - Clean well serviced full of energy good eating place Car park always full for room occupants if you get back after 4.30
- Catherine (10/5): Lovely venue, friendly accomodating staff, restaurant food was excellent. - Location was perfect. The accommodation was pleasant and clean with modern bathrooms. Although the pub/restaurant is busy, the noise level was fine and it was quiet in the room. The patrons leave early and it isn’t a late night rowdy crowd, hardly hear them. The guest parking is tricky, not roomy, narrow bays, and also taken up by hotel patrons, so you would have to park on the road and move your vehicle later.
- Christian (8/5): Great bar/garden eating areas. Had a fantastic dinner in restaurant. Free gin paddle tasting bonus! - Very poor water pressure in shower - not enough to form a spray. Was just dripping really.
- Jill (8/5): Fulfilled our needs and expectations - Good appointments, external noise suppression and spacious room Lack of on-site breakfast meal.
- Jill (10/5): Our stay was excellent from start to finish. - Gillian (not sure if spelt right) on arrival was outstanding. The rooms were wonderful and having the courtyard outside was great.
- Jaak (10/5): -
- Joanne (10/5): -
- Marc (10/5): -
