Guest Reviews
- ANDRES PATERNOSTER (10/5): Great Apartment. Great Location. Spacious. Safe. - I wanted to stay in a full service apartment rather than a small hotel room. I had an excellent time in the beautiful modern apartment the perfect location in Covent Garden. Very walkable to almost every thing. The apartment was comfortable and spacious, and clean. Check-in procedure was easy. Management company is was well organized. The beds were comfortable. Upstairs living room/kitchen balcony space was amazing. It was great having a full service apartment rather than a hotel room. It was great to have a kitchen and laundry machine. I highly recommend this apartment. The location is vey vibrant and safe.
The only drawback was a lack of cabinet/drawers to unpack your clothes. There is plenty of closet space for hanging clothes.
I would definitely stay here again!
- Elizabeth (2/5): - The apartment changes where we were staying a few days before our booking that was very inconvenient and didn't offer to reduce the price and wouldn't let me be refunded for the booking fee. No ac just awful
- Ferran (2/5): - On the very afternoon I was scheduled to check in, I received a call from Excel Apartments informing me that the apartment I had reserved was no longer available.
I was then relocated to a completely different property—an old and dirty apartment located 40 minutes away.
Due to the unacceptable condition of the replacement apartment, I left immediately and was forced to find and pay for an alternative hotel on short notice.
Despite this, I have still not received a refund for the original booking.
Zero customer service. A complete joke
- John (6/5): - Pros: Great location near shopping, restaurants and transportation. Also it was clean.
Cons: Over 60 steps to get to unit on narrow curving stairs. No control over AC and no way to reach landlord. Very noisy with sirens at night with nearby law enforcement building. Street side bedroom very bright early in the morning with inadequate shades and curtains.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Terrible host, awful hospitality - This was an absolutely awful experience. No working wifi, stuffy and extremely loud with the police station across the street. In addition the management never fixed the wifi during my stay and proceeded to argue and accuse us of lying. I’ve never experienced such a hostile host.
- Imran (8/5): - Late check in. The host instructed us to not to get there before 3pm. We got there at 320 and the cleaning lady was just starting the cleanup. It took her 2 hours to clean so we had to sit on the side to wait for her to finish so that we could get get ready and leave for our event that evening. Wifi did not work the 3 days we were there. The sofa in teh living area had stains and all the window blinds were broken.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Adequate but tired - The location is the winning factor for this property. Communications were a bit 'lecture/school teacher like' but did provide all the info I needed. The property is tired, broken sofa, broken blinds, but the bed was comfortable and the bedroom quiet and dark (as you'd want). Poor toiletries provided (barely enough for 1 night - I stayed 4) and poor/no discernible eco/recycling efforts. I suppose the summary is it was adequate but there are better properties for the money in the same area.
- Partha (10/5): - We had an amazing stay. Nice 2BR ensuite APARTMENT with a loft Living room. Kitchen equipped with W/M and D/W. We had a nice stay, especially in the heart London with all points of interest, restaurants etc around.
The only negative were the rounded flight of stairs, which led to some discomfort with suitcases being brought up, especially to 3rd floor.
- Helen (10/5): - Exactly what we expected. Thank you for our lovely stay!
- Guy (2/5): Terrible Terrible Terrible - Was locked out of the apartment with all my belongings inside.
I had to find another hotel at midnight to stay in otherwise I would have been on the streets of London for the night.
No number to ring anyone. Main door to property was locked and unable to get access.
- Mark (10/5): - Great location, an earlier check in time would be beneficial. But all in all a great location.
- Katherine (10/5): - Clean and well presented apartment in a busy part of london.
- nicola (2/5): - I booked this last minute due to unscheduled meeting in London.
Arrived as location at 9:30pm and I was unable to gain access.
Apparently required passport id, didn’t have thus with me as uk resident
I had to book another hotel, not ideal
- Lewys (2/5): - I have to say I am disappointed with the stay, the bed was extremely noisy and broken making it uncomfortable. The TV also didn’t work and the tap in the kitchen practically falling off the work service.
Having stayed in other stay inn apartments and had a pleasant experience it was disappointing to have experienced the above, especially given then cost of the stay and further deposits taken I would expect more from a provider.
- Lucie (8/5): - Great little flat and in the middle of town. Clean, easy check in. WiFi didn’t work and a bit of a signal black spot but great value and location.
- michael (10/5): - So the good, the bad, and the ugly of this choice.
First, the good. The location cannot be beat. The flats are within walking distance of four or five tube stations, hundreds of restaurants and pubs, as well as a dozen or so landmarks. For the price, this is an excellent choice for people that don’t need hotel amenities during their stay.
I really cannot stress enough just how much I loved the location. First night, we walked one block and were able to stop the fridge from one of the local groceries. Were able to take a break in the middle of each day because of its vicinity to several tube stations as well. we were there seven nights, saw five shows, and the flat was within a 15 minute walk of six of those shows.
The bad. The stairs getting to the flat are exceptionally narrow. We were lucky in that we had the flat on the second floor, so we only had two flights of stairs each time. So if you have an issue with stairs, this would definitely be a challenging place for you. Also, the flat is hot and there is no way to cool it off. The windows open, but they don’t provide much of ventilation and absolutely no Crossbreeze. There is a fan provided, but it might be one of the most useless fans I’ve ever seen.
Finally, the ugly. The toilet is smaller than most American closets. It is extremely hot and narrow. Very uncomfortable.
Still a 5 star review largely due to the location and price!! Would definitely stay there on a return trip.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Opp police station - The apartment is nice on the surface and clean enough. But it was SO hot and SO loud. It's opposite a police station and at minimum every hour through the night a police car came past with the sirens on and it felt like they were in the room. Which sadly meant no sleep at all.
- Scott (4/5): - Apartment is HIGHLY lacking in safety! One night I was upstairs in the kitchen, my young daughter was in the front bedroom with the door closed, my son in the shower, my wife in the other bathroom. I hear a commotion in the downstairs hallway and hollered out to see what was going on. I got no response but heard a door close. I look down to see the locked front door closing. I rush down to open it and see no one. I headed down the steps to find the person from the lower unit entering their room. They stated they had mistakenly went to the wrong floor. Their door code worked for our door. This was Extremely concerning, and made my wife feel very uncomfortable. For this reason alone, I would be very cautious about booking.
Check in process was overboard. Multiple contacts and documentation requirements that felt unnecessary and interruptive. Of a 3 week trip and 8 hotels/apartments this was by far the most difficult to deal with.
Size and comfort of the apartment was great. Location was good with lots of things nearby.
The upkeep of the apartment was lacking with several things damaged, broken, or not working. The washer/dryer made clothes come out with a terrible odor. The unit was not clean at all with large clumps of hair and dust found throughout, and dishes were dirty with chunks of food on them.
- Veronica (10/5): - Excellent location, walking distance to all attractions! Can’t fault this apartment in the heart of London.
- Turgay (6/5): - Great location, and a cosy apartment unit furnished properly for two people. It was great as far as easy access to so many points of interest is concerned (museums, eateries, theaters etc.)
If you are intending to conduct a little bit of work through internet connection at the property, forget it! You will find a low bandwidth, totally unreliable service. Area is full of pubs and eateries, which makes it a bit noisy during night (into the late night).
- Elsa (10/5): - Space was great. Be prepared to for a lot of stairs if you are in #3. We counted 63. Overall it was great place, central location.
- Richard (8/5): Great location - Good bits:Great location and good apartment. Great shower. Small bad bits: Key code needs to be clearer, it took us ages to get in. No cutlery that we could find, we did ring but no one came. Also WiFi was not very good. The company emailed us at 1pm asking if we had left by 10am.we actually left at 9.30am so this was a bit pointless.
- Blinda (8/5): - It was difficult to find and we were on the fourth floor which was difficult for my elderly mother. But once we got into the room it was absolutely perfect!!! The house was clean and had everything we needed for the night. We ate dinner at the dining room table and opened the large panel sliding glass door to let the night air in - amazing!! The property is very walkable which was most important to us. Also, there was a washer/dryer so we were able to do laundry. It took FOREVER to dry but other than that, it was great. The location made this property perfect!!!
- Paula (6/5): Great location, rotten sleep - Check in was easy, we loved the location and shower was great! However, it was rather noisy, the bed was quite uncomfortable, living room furniture was limited, and the space was over-heated. We left feeling rather exhausted after two tough night's sleep.
- James Herbert (10/5): - Great flat just steps from Trafalgar Square and the Charing Cross Underground. So many pubs, restaurants, and venues within just a few minute's walk!
- Gavin (8/5): - Enviable location with useful kitchen/living space.
