Guest Reviews
- Christian (6/5): - With booking only a week prior, there wasnt a lot available.
As a place to park up and sleep and shower for the night it did the job.
Its dated and tired, but everything wirks. Kinda odd seeing personal nik naks about the place.
Ciggie burns the bedspread sort of stuff.
Pretty full of hi vis fellas enjoying the bbq and a few beers before crashing early.
- corey (8/5): - It a place to put your head. Rooms are clean and good parking in front of your room.
- Michelle (8/5): - Really good Motel stayed one night and was good.
- Rosemary (8/5): - Property was not in good condition. Poorly appointed. No parking outside the door as is usual.
- Sue-Ellen (2/5): - Someone else had my parking space. The carpet was filthy, the doona had a big black stain and no doona cover, there was no kettle, no basin or bench in the bathroom. The room was very dated and the owner could not understand english. When I left I put the key in the box he told me to then he rang me to ask”where is his key??”.
That experience cost $202. There is a lot of room for improvement and I won’t stay there again.
- kathyl752 (10/5): Nice little motel - The service at the motel was brilliant. We stayed in room 5- there was a bit of road noise but nothing to complain about. Whilst the place shows it's age, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Nice hot shower and beautiful towels. We asked for a very late checkout and it was no problem at all. Would recommend this motel.
- lmrjjpjv_157 (4/5): .Position not as described. Noisy. When arrived the owners car was in our units carpark. Whole experience unprofessional - Room was standard but clean. Unfortunately it was listed as being off the main road. The entrance was but it was still right on the highway. It was very noisy and hard to sleep. I thought a bit overpriced due to position and being a very basic room. I tried contacting the manager twice via their email to get a tax invoice but they haven't bothered replying. Will not be returning there.
- dionm767 (2/5): Bring Ear Plugs - I needed to stay in Gympie for work and there was no other accommodation available at the time. I had no sleep for 2 nights due to the excessive loud noise from constant trucks gearing down the road and other guests snoring and talking sounds coming through the walls. Another guest on a loud motorbike, started up his motorbike and would leave every half an hour all night long.
I couldn't stay one more night, so I left after 2 of my 3 nights and drove back to Noosa to stay at other accommodation.
I would never stay here again or recommend anyone staying here again.
- 600samd (2/5): Rude staff rundown property - Property is rundown and staff are rude anarrogant people. The room was very old but clean and comfortable, the laundry has no signage and in disrepair just like the BBQ area where everyone smokes. I could not work out how to get to the pool.
- Kinhigh (2/5): Rudest people I have comes across. Added $40 to my bill for 'nothing' - I was offered a room where my 18 year old deaf & blind poodle could stay (clean & in her little dress & who sleeps in her own porta-cot) and without telling me the rude lady at reception added $40 to my bill! When I rang (before unpacking all my things in the motel room), I was told 'too bad' you walked inside the room! Are you kidding me!!! 3 months later & I am still fighting for my money back. When I rang today, the creepy guy at the desk said 'You left a 't#rd' in our toilet'. Who talks like this? I didn't even use anything in the room, but did wonder why it smelt! He said your dog 'sh#t on our driveway'. My poodle did toilet on their 'bitumen' driveway, but with a gloved hand, I put this in a scented nappy bag and placed it in an outside bin. Any harm in that? I heave read so many bad reviews about this place & their rudeness, but I will not stop fighting until I get my money back, as a matter of principle!
- alisone2017 (2/5): Back to the 50s holiday camp but dirtier. - This is back to the 1950s tatty room one night was more than enough the whole hotel needs knocking down and updating. But the bed linen and towels were clean. The stairwell had a horrid smell and thought I would be sick with one whiff. Staff were ok.
- joycecX5403DT (10/5): Good experience - Friendly gentleman greeted me after hours. Room was clean. Great budget motel. The staff couldn't have been kinder. Will stop by there again when I next visit. They kept asking me if I needed anything and were willing to answer all my questions.
- nadesp (2/5): Never Ever Again - Less than friendly service by office staff.Lied to by staff regarding restock of coffee and tea.Same towel had to be used two nights in a row for two people.Ants in kettle on arrival.Asked to leave bathroom door open while showering due to ventilation issue. This stay was complete waste of money. No cutlery.Never Ever again. All six other guest for the same function stated they would never ever be back. However Nationwide is a wonderful advertisement for any other Motel in Gympie .Could not connect to wifi and then only ninety minutes for entire stay.
- justagypsygirl (10/5): Clean, comfortable, parking for trailer - Checked in late, was not an issue
Easy safe off the highway parking for trailer
Didn't mind if it was parked on the grass
Clean rooms
Air Con was fine
Budget but accommodating
Great quick overnight stay
Don't expect the Hilton for $100 a night
Most of all was clean !!
- georginao585 (2/5): The worst motel I've stayed in! - Awful service from an unfriendly receptionist! Unclean bathroom and facilities! Room dirty and musty-smelling! Noseeums present in room! Surroundings left much to be desired! Couldn't wait to get out of there! Buyer beware!!!
- glennf988 (2/5): Worst place ever - I have stayed at bad places in my life but this one is now my worst.
I travel lots and even in 3rd world countries but this was at the bottom of the list.
Noisy, hot, Airconditioner worked but was that small couldn't cool down the room and it was only 26 out side even after the sun went down, could leave it on even with ear plugs in so noisy, bed was yuk, shower wasn't clean smelt inside :(
Never stay there.
- louisewE9750NQ (2/5): Horrible service disgusting room - stayed in this place last night.... never again. Dank, stanky just all around horrible experience....the service was rude. Never again. such a run down old motel the powerpoint was taped to the wall!!!!, the room had a gassy sewage smell yuck yuck yuck!!
- annieoforange (8/5): Clean, nice owners - This isn't the Hilton and there's a bit of noise from the highway, but if you're tired, you'll be just fine with this clean and spacious place. The bed is firmish but that's how I like it. The owners were lovely and very helpful.
- Robert-and-Angie (8/5): Good Value & On the Highway - A little old and tired but is comfortable and has everything you need, and it's spotlessly clean.
You can park your car right outside the room, handy if you have luggage.
This is good value for good modest accommodation.
- paulz584 (2/5): Disaster - Were to start name a few ! Funky septic smell in the room, floor not vacuum well still lrg chunkys left behind, sundamaged seats to sit on inside, calcified kettle, power point duct taped up!!! Just the beginning.
I really hope they see this and improve really soon.
- morganj92 (2/5): Warning! Please do not stay here! - Bugs in our beds; with the explanation that "we leave our windows open & should expect that." Incredibly rude and disrespectful staff who wouldn't refund our accommodation after 10 mins in this hell hole. Do yourself a favour & pay $20 extra for a nicer motel. I can't stress how disgusting this motel is!!!!!!!!
- nigelk3 (6/5): Friendly place - We arrived late at night and the hostes ere sleeping already. Yet they woke up for us and checked us in at midnight. Very friendly people. The room is small and no lock on the toilet but for a couple that shouldn't be a problem. There was coffee, tea and fresh milk for that in the room and plenty of blankets. Wasn't the cleanest place but wasn't to dirty either.
- Liger74 (8/5): Looked a little scary, but pleasantly surprised - Ok.. So, it looked a little scary when we pulled up.. But as we were so tired we just decided to take a chance. We Were glad we did.
The owners are lovely people, very switched on and know hospitality. They can also cook a good meal! It is an older hotel with thin walls, so you can hear the highway, but, the room was exceptionally clean and had some really sweet homely features. The beds were very comfortable and the linen was the nicest and warmest we had come Accross on our journey.
It was affordable and great value for money.
- O8676DWpeterb (2/5): Fawlty Towers is better - We had to stay here on a business trip and wished we had stayed in the car. The air conditioning did not cool the tiny room, the walls are paper thin so we spent the night listening to our neighbors arguing and their baby crying along with the highway noise.
For entertainment we spent the night playing change the channel to find a tuned in channel.
To top it all off the bathroom basin was next to the microwave.
Do yourself a favour and see if the watch house has a vacancy instead of here.
- Lynda007191 (6/5): Our second visit. - Have just re visited this motel, and although this motel is an older one, I have noticed that the new managers have been hard at re painting the rooms, making the rooms brighter and cheerier, the bed is new and very comfortable. We had a dinner there this time and it was lovely to get such a nice home cooked meal. See you again.
