- Adventurer723585 (2/5): Misleading Booking and Poor Management – Avoid This Hotel - ⭐ 1/5 – Deeply Disappointing Stay at Hotel Pilgrim, Paris (3 Oct) I booked Hotel Pilgrim in Paris through Stayforlong.com, paying for what was clearly advertised as a Superior Twin Room (£385.17) for two female friends. On arrival, we were allocated a Classic Double, which was entirely unsuitable for our needs. When I raised this with Clara, the hotel manager, I was told the hotel was fully booked, the room was too small for twin beds or a cot, and that no refund could be offered. Her only “solution” was to bring in extra bedding and sleep on the floor— the bedding arrived in poor condition. As a cancer patient in recovery, this situation caused considerable stress and exhaustion. Despite it being the hotel’s error, there was no compensation, no breakfast offered, and no proper service. The room was so cramped that my suitcase posed a safety hazard, and the management showed no accountability or empathy. To make matters worse, room rates fluctuate dramatically online, which is misleading. I would score them zero if it were possible. Avoid this hotel at all costs — poor management, false advertising, and no respect for guests’ well-being.

The breakfast area and adjoining outdoor courtyard were delightful as was the breakfast menu. The staff made us feel welcomed and gave us some excellent tips of which restaurants to visit in the area.

- Areen (10/5): - Ich hatte einen sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt im Hôtel Pilgrim. Die Unterkunft war ausgesprochen sauber. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die hervorragende Anbindung an den öffentlichen Verkehr: Sowohl vom Flughafen als auch nach Versailles gelangt man schnell und unkompliziert. Sehenswürdigkeiten wie Notre-Dame oder das Panthéon sind bequem zu Fuß erreichbar, und mehrere Bushaltestellen befinden sich ebenfalls in unmittelbarer Nähe. Die Duschprodukte dufteten außergewöhnlich angenehm, und die im Zimmer verfügbaren Teesorten waren sehr lecker. Wenn ich etwas kritisieren müsste, dann wäre es die Größe der Dusche und des WCs. Beide fielen wirklich sehr kompakt aus. Jedoch kein großes Problem. Insgesamt eine empfehlenswerte Unterkunft für alle, die zentral und komfortabel in Paris wohnen möchten.

I suggest you publish the size of the rooms on the website and show realistic looking pictures, so travellers can make an informed decision as to whether the room will meet their needs. - stephanieg354 (10/5): Amazing experience - We had a wonderful stay at this quaint hotel in the Latin District of Paris. The staff were incredibly accommodating and even went out of their way to prepare breakfast for us before the regular serving time. They also had a beautiful rooftop patio perfect for taking in the views of the Eiffel Tower and enjoying a glass of wine, and the pool/steam room was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend for a charming and relaxing Parisian experience. The staff was excellent but Sara was especially accommodating and kind. Thanks for a great stay.

Rooftop not staffed just a place for you to bring your drinks( i think description lets you imagine something Else). No real barfacilities, just the people at the desktop mixing your drinks. Breakfast should be better(this is a 4 star hotel): bread not fresh(stale), hot choices are: scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fried potatoes and mushrooms. Scrambled eggs are not very well made and not “restocked” very often. Boiled eggs cold. Water often runs slow and can Only be extremely hot(approx 60C) making it impossible to shower. After 5-10 minutes it was ok.

Excellent location, close to Seine, Notre Dame and Batobus river ferry. Lots of places to eat and drink in 100m radius. Would look forward to staying again.

- TiffanyD501 (10/5): Great for our family, loved the vibe and service - One of the best rooms we’ve ever had - we fit our family of four perfectly with lots of room to spare (two small pullouts for them) and I loved spending time on the terrace and the beautiful large double shower bathroom! The pool allows kids and has jets to massage. The hotel staff was a highlight. They noticed my daughter loved the house made chocolate cake and upon returning to the hotel one evening they offered us the remaining two slices from breakfast! We were able to walk easily to restaurants in the Latin Quarter including metro stations there and to the RER next to Notre Dame. We loved our stay and want to come back!

As another guest also pointed out, our room had a weird smell (room 410). (We switched rooms during the stay, and the first room was fine). The breakfast didn't have a lot of options, but it was fine. The warm food was a little cold, and the milk a little warm (this was near closing time). So we only paid for breakfast the first day.

No compensation has been offered for this horrible performance at the time of check out or even afterwards, in spite of a long follow up correspondence via email. . Having the room cleaned is the definition itself of a hotel, else on would rent an apartment. Schoking! Stay away from this hotel by all means.

- kristensQ580VJ (10/5): Amazing in all aspects! - Very well located, walking distance to many tourist attractions, restaurants, and pharmacies. Loved the complimentary slippers (you get to take with you!) and the bottles of waters, which I didn't need to even ask for a refill of! (they provided more when they came to tidy up room). Staff was very friendly, they helped me switch up my booking and informed me of a discount they had at the moment, and they checked in about airport to hotel transportation. Would absolutely book here again, amazing experience!

Hotel room was clean and comfortable, I noticed some people complained about the size, however, our room was more than adequate. I would just add, it would definitely benefit from drawer space to put your clothes. The bed was comfortable and the location of the hotel was perfect. The staff organised a birthday surprise for my son, when we returned from a long day, which was wonderful and value for money. I would definitely stay again.

The rooms feel new, comfortable beds with nice touches like a rainforest shower but fall short with a pretty basic instant coffee provided. The gym, while it has good looking equipment, is both small, and has a lot of equipment that is broken and clearly isn’t looked after. Staff are friendly and responsive to requests.

Yea the room was small but it was gorgeously appointed with beautiful decor and wonderful toiletries and fluffy towels!! We thoroughly enjoyed the pool and steam room too. As well as the bar/cafe - we will definitely be returning!!!

Breakfast was delicious and the hammam facilities were a welcome break from walking around the city. It's only a few minutes walk to main attractions of the area, and there are wonderful cafes and restaurants right around the hotel. We'd absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it!

No hooks or closet. At night if you use the bathroom and turn on the light the entire room is lit up because there is a glass divider in the bathroom. Not very well designed.

- John (10/5): - This is a very friendly new hotel within easy reach of the heart of Paris by foot especially the Seine and Île de France. It is also close to métro, Gare de Lyon and cabs. Ride share is quick too. The Hotel staff are very welcoming French speakers who can speak English well as needed. The included daily breakfast is excellent and the very friendly staff make it easy. The rooms were really nice but somewhat small as expected in a big city. They had two quick elevators and lots of optional staircases. The fooftop lounging area was cool with nice views incl La Tour Eiffel. We didn’t utilize the spa or pool as we were out all day. The rooms are very clean, well appointed, and stylish. We did have to ask for the AC to be turned on. There are some design features that look cool but are not too practical like ceiling lights that light up the bathroom but thanks to a glass window between the bedroom and bathroom will light up both areas which was a nighttime surprise. Also one-sided bathroom mirror lighting looked cool but didn’t make shaving or makeup any easier. Nonetheless those were very minor inconveniences. We truly loved our weeklong stay at the Hôtel Pilgrim and would stay there again in a heartbeat. Once Notre Dame re-opens for inside visiting the hotel’s location will be even more amazing.
