Guest Reviews
- Ricardo G (9/5): Answered in a previous review. - Answered in a previous review. Answered in a previous review.
- Margaret (6/5): - Main bed was good other beds were average.
- John (8/5): Happy with our accommodation - Clean and tidy. Had everything we needed. Couldn’t get air conditioner to work
- Dianne (3/5): Beds from hell - The udea of renting two bedroom cabin. Kitchen etc was ok. Beds were dreadful. I slept on a piece if foam. The beds. Also fragments of itgers toilet rills ledt to use up. We had 4 rolls with a bit of paper. I consider we had paid reasonable money and to give people dreadful beds is not aceptable. Do better
- Dean (5/5): Accommodation was in rough shape needs lots of maintenance, way too expensive for basic unit - Lack of security, key lockbox was open before arrival.
Unit needs lots of basic maintenance
Too expensive for what you get
- Barbara (2/5): No recommended. - Very.unappealing and garden view promise non existent. Very uncomfortable chairs to view tv which had no signal. Bed mattress sags in the middle and bedroom blinds are broken - privacy issue. For half the cost it would have been an acceptable budget stay. There are better options than this is Queenstown.
- Lynda (7/5): - Nothing just little old doors not shutting well
- sonja (1/5): Way over priced. Nothing offered for that price , no phone range, no WiFi, no communication from hos - No breakfast No communication, no WiFi, no coffee, no cooking equipment. False advertising, absolutely not worth 200 dollars a night. Clean inside but honestly what did I just experience!
- Soapy (3/5): Dont Bother! - The hot shower and water pressure. Very run down..needs a lot of money spent to make it look good!
- Janice (6/5): Satisfactory - Comfortable bed No lounge chairs. Very muddy where car parked in rain.
- Ricardo G (9/5): Enjoy your stay and relax, while visiting Western Tasmania. - Actually we ended up staying 4 nights.
The place was extremely quiet.
We cooked and prepared our own meals.
Bed was comfortable.
Hot water was more than enough.
We would go back. Not that we needed them, but do not expect “luxury” nor an 86” screen.
- annabel (4/5): - No tea, coffee, 1 lot of shampoo and conditioner for 3 people for 2 nights. Sukin products 6yrs out of date. 2 steamers with no saucepans.
- russell (4/5): Overall our stay was extremely disappointing. We were really looking forward to enjoying Queenstown a second time. This - We were fortunate to have the house to stay in re space. Was clean and spacious. Credit to the cleaners. Toilet cistern switched on and off the whole time due to a constant water running in toilet. No hair dryer supplied. Only towels and bath mat supplied - no hand towel or face washers. Base of shower showed signs of rust. Bathroom door wouldn’t stay shut. Main bedroom was roomy, no mattress protectors on bed, only one side table & 1 bedside lamp. Other bedroom had side tables and no bedside lamps. Lounge room spacious but TV had 3 blue lines on the screen ( very old). Lounge suite - part of it broken. No wifi either. Kitchen spacious and clean, cupboards had musty smell due to age. No coffee sachets, no tea sachets, no sugar sachets or milk provided. An information folder would have been helpful. Front door unable to be opened. Back screen door wouldn’t close properly. Because of a car puncture ( holiday weekend) we enquired about being able to extend our stay by 1 night. We were told a cabin would be available which we needed to confirm by 9.00am the next morning. When we rang to confirm we would require an extended stay the Manager ( apparently a resident on Gold Coast) advised nothing available and we were told to leave. A blatant lie. Grounds and building outside unkempt and tired looking. Lawn needed mowing and gardens needed some TLC.
Very disappointing that they weren’t honest with us in the first place.
- Marcella (8/5): -
- Margaret (4/5): Disappointing - Large lounge room. The House- the kitchen tap ran continually. The shower dripped & cistern kept running.
This made it very hard to sleep.
The pillows & doonas smelt “sweaty” & unwashed.
Food residue on crockery, cooking utensils & cutlery.
No tea, coffee, sugar or milk provided.
- George (2/5): We were glad it was only 3 nights - The fridge-freezer was so fully iced-over that it took 3 hours to unfreeze it so we could open the door (I have photos).
Obviously, the cleaner person had never looked at the fridge.
Screen door had no wheels, so needed dragging to open/close
Airconditioner did not cool (weather was 30deg) and no fans
The portable hotplates had to balance on top of the microwave
- Anita (3/5): We didn’t want to stay the second night and forfeited. - We had a cooktop but no sauce pan and about 4 strainers. 1. Airconditioning was not working.
2. Broken chairs left around cabin
3. No saucepan
4. Screen door in a very fair condition
5. No coffee or tea or milk provided
6. Eclectic crockery
7. No hand soap provided but 4 things of facial cleanser.
- Glenn (10/5): -
- Hector (8/5): - for a 3 night stay I would have preferred a second set of towels
- Yohani (10/5): -
- Doyle-tune (2/5): Great spot just unfortunately had had no maintenance. And not worth the money. - Unfortunately alot things.
•The bathroom door is broken ,like broken in half and wont shut properly,
•bedroom door falls off its rail and gets jammed. •Curtains are sticky taped up..
•The hot plates take ages to cook on ( 1 cabin was worse then the other)
• BBQ had no gas and was also filthy.
• in both cabins fridges, the shelves in doors are broken, wouldn't matter but is a tiny fridge.
• 1 cabins air con did not work...
• we got 6 rolls of toilet paper, and had 8 people staying for a week. And Had to purchase our own.
- Elizabeth (1/5): Terrible! - Absolutely the worst management of accommodation we have ever encountered. We couldn't even stay there. The place hadn't been cleaned from the previous people that had stayed there. It was damp and smelled of mould. And the place they allocated to us wasn't even advertised on their page. We booked a cabin with a double and two bunks and they gave us a run down old house with two double beds, really great with two teenagers! So what we booked from the photos wasn't anything like what we got. When we bought up these issues, the manager wouldn't acknowledge that we didn't want to stay there, or offer any kind of alternate accommodation or any type of compensation. They also said they hadn't changed the pin on the door and maybe someone had let themselves in, with no offer to change it for us so someone could have walked in at any time if we had stayed. We put in a cancellation request to booking com and a request for a refund which the manager has completely ignored. DO NOT stay here!!!!
- Vicki (7/5): Warm and welcoming feel in the House - We were very pleased that we had been allocated the main house, which had a warm welcoming feel and was spacious, with a comfortable large lounge.
We enjoyed hearing the sound of the Queen River running past the property. The tap in the kitchen dripped and it was very difficult to turn it off hard enough to stop the drips. The shower rose was loose and a sorsyed water out the side, reducing the pressure somewhat. It was a bit tricky showering with one hand whilst holding the shower rose arm with the other.
The grass was very long .. I believe there had bern considerable rain prior to our visit, so perhaps there wasnt an opportunity to mow beforehand. We had some concerns about snakes, being so close to the river.
There was ample crockery but the cereal bowls were very shallow. I like to make an overnight chia & porridge mix but the bowls were too shallow. Luckily I found a measuring jug so used that for my breaky.
There was no bedside light in the 2nd bedroom
- annick (4/5): - Tous les robinets fuient et les ouvrir et les fermer demandent une force incroyable ! L'environnement n'est pas entretenu et à ĺ intérieur, les placards vieillot sentent le renfermé ...
- rachel (6/5): -
- Helen (8/5): Interior was great but nearly drove away with the look of the exterior - Very clean everything except you need to stay at a property. how accommodating the owner was The outside wasn’t appealing and yard unkept which didn’t affect our stay as it was raining but would scare some people into not looking into the lovely interior
- Helen (8/5): - We stayed in the house and not a cabin. Facilities in the kitchen and bathroom were good, and the bed very comfy. Clean conditions. Very quiet area. BYO extras like tea/coffee, soap/shampoo though. Thanks for the stay - Deb was courteous and helpful.
- Debra (7/5): It was okay - Very roomy Dishes and general maintenance
- Linda (4/5): Way overpriced for very run down premises - One roll of toilet paper , warped doors could not close bathroom door, no clothes dryer, no tissues
Crumbs in cupboards, coffee canister with congealed coffee , Tv screen had visual streaks, leaking taps , no hair dryer , no iron
- Michael (2/5): COLD . Asked the owner for help with the heater but she couldn’t give a rats. - Poor customer service
- Sylvia (6/5): Disappointing - We were allocated a 2 bedroom house instead of a cabin, which was definitely more appropriate, given the $ paid. The open plan lounge / dining room was comfortable with an effective heater. The house was poorly maintained. Taps dripped noisily in the kitchen and shower and smoke alarms beeped constantly. Bulb had blown in the bedroom and the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work.
The contact was advised but no response received. The whole property was run down and uncared for. It was definitely not good value.
- Ly (5/5): -
- Pragati (7/5): -
- Mark (8/5): - Had everything we needed as a family for a short stay.
- Jennifer (3/5): one night was enough. - hard to find and the second bedroom was just a curtain across an opening
- Patricia (4/5): Heating inefficient, insect screens torn. Premises had not been cleaned , used soap left in shower, no teaspoons, no to - Did not match the photos provided on site.
- Terri-ann (9/5): Superb -
- Yvonne (8/5): Queenstown stay - It was cute and clean Not enough privacy for 3 adults.
Grounds were not good.
- Leigh (9/5): Superb - Location was good. Needed to have electric blankets on beds. Cabin should have had the heat pump on before we arrived as it was a very cold autumn evening. Needed to have a Toilet roll holder and hair shampoo.
- Samantha (10/5): Thought we were staying in a cabin, how ever we were given the 2 bedroom house - Close to town
- Janet (3/5): Definitely not as advertised, grounds very scruffy. - Thanks
to the cleaner who sorted out our accommodation for us as no room available when we arrived. Booked and prepaid for a 2 bedroomed apartment, got a 1 roomed cabin ( 1 bedroom but door off rails wouldn't close)
- Peggy (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (5/5): Passable -
- David (5/5): Passable - It was available. The only cabin that was available Just old and not that clean.
This & the caravan park are way out of town
- Yelpo (10/5): Exceptional - Cabins didn't have wifi
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Colleen (5/5): Passable -
- Christine (6/5): Cabin was basic but satisfactory for a 1 night stay. - Quiet location, close to everything, clean and plenty of cooking equipment. Yard could do with some maintenance. Outside of cabin in need of a wash.
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brodie (10/5): We will stay again - Great location. Easy walking distance to town
- Neil (6/5): - It was clean and functional. Property was difficult to find - down an alley - better signage needed. But It was ok for the price. Mattress on the single bed is ordinary. Bedding could be aired - smells a bit musky. Cupboards look like a dumping ground for unused cutlery and crockery. Only need enough stuff for the max number of guests (4 or5?)
- James (10/5): Good value for money, Host was Very friendly over the phone. Simple and easy, comfortable. -
- Melissa (5/5): Passable - Nothing The cabin had a musty smell
- Sharan (8/5): Very good - No wifi
- Bailey (8/5): Very good -
- Leonie (10/5): Excellent accommodation - Has own supplies but all utensils were available to use Everything was perfect
- Karen (6/5): Pleasant - Clean, tidy, location , value for money. No wifi, maintenance needed in cabin.
- Chean (7/5): Good -
- Waldemar (10/5): It was a great to hav accomodation that I felt like home - Great location, beautiful view of the mountains, friendly host, free washing machine. Windows didn’t have fly net
- Helen (7/5): Good - Quiet
- Tracy (1/5): Bad - Nothing Never saw the owner what so ever. Bedroom light not working
3 adults staying only 1 bed made.
Grounds were overgrown and shabby. Back fence had fallen down. Creek running behind property therefore not safe for children
Bathroom floor and shower slippery, not good for elderly.
Ramp to entrance in need of repair, not safe.
BBQ and outdoor table unusable due being very dirty and rotten.
All linen smelt musty and mildewy and caused me to have an asthma attack.
Sheets were wrinkly and not ironed.
Mattresses were so hard we may as well have slept on the floor. Could feel the springs digging in to our body on the double bed mattress.
Bunk bed ladder could not be attached to bunks to make it safe to get on the top bunk. EXTREMELY dangerous.
WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED.
- Shaanee (10/5): Very clean and quiet beautiful little place. The owner was very lovely - Clean and quiet location and the owner was extremely nice and helpful

- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (7/5): Good - Lady on the phone and service was great No shampoo conditioner for each guest. Not enough coffee milk ect for all guests only enough for 1
- Melanie (1/5): Would not recommend it - Nothing Everything
- David (7/5): Did the job I wanted. - location
- Jessica (7/5): Good - It was very homely and the beds were comfy and there were plenty of towels. There were no bedside lamps, electric blankets or a PowerPoint next to the bed to charge anything. The doona covers were very slippery and the doonas kept getting bundled up in them. There was also no cloths the wash the dishes, only a half size green scourer.
- Judy (7/5): Rustic but comfortable. - Quiet location, comfortable bed, had a heat lamp in bathroom and efficient air conditioner.
Good local cafe/wine bar (moonscape) Fridge was a little unpredictable
- Gould (10/5): Exceptional - The place was so comfortable
- Neil (8/5): Nice "home" to return to and the end of the day - Clean well presented for the price range So much so emptied bin so would catch council collection
Comfortable and functional There was no dishwashing liquid
Suggest supply salt and pepper as well as tea coffee and sugar
- Alan (7/5): Good - Cleanliness. 2 hour notification could not offer accommodation. Then re-instated. Booked cabin with ramp access but had to struggle with steps to another cabin. Trouble locating site. Had to ask on Information Centre. Terrible plumbing in sink.
- Vikki (7/5): Good - Staff were helpful and friendly. The cabin was comfortable.
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Nice quiet location, close-ish to town. Room had kitchen facilities and air-conditioning. Single bed in second room was a little sagged, but I seemed to sleep OK anyway.

Aircon great
Great shower Very basic and limited amenities.
Cooking was difficult, stove / oven barely worked.

- Elesh (5/5): Passable -
- Laura (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Thank you. - It was very lovely. Couldn’t really fault it.
- Cartage (1/5): Very poor - Cabin smelt and could not stay there.
- Shirley (8/5): It was OK and smelled clean on entry - Conveniently situated Cutlery was missing. Just 2 forks and spoons (7 knives). 1 teaspoon. For the number of people . Beds etc. the fridge is a bit small
- Jagadeesh (9/5): Superb -
- Anonymous (2/5): Very poor - I had an extremely disappointing experience at here. The broken fence board at the entrance caused a flat tire, ruining our trip. The property lacked basic amenities like salt, pepper, and sheet covers for bunk beds. The stove was inadequate for cooking. Overall, a subpar stay that significantly impacted our vacation.
- Amanda (4/5): Disappointing - Clean linen Doors getting stuck closed in bedrooms, kids getting stuck, gunshots 3 doors away, animal in the roof cavity, leaking from under wahing machine, stains on carpet in bedroom
- Stacey (9/5): Superb - The rooms were clean and the beds were warm.
- Ber (9/5): Great place to stay within easy walk from the centre of town. -
- Jacquie (2/5): Very poor - The shower was fine, but there was only hand soap provided,.It was not cheap, and a great disappointment It was very basic. The sofa was very uncomfortable, the TV was just the size of a computer screen, the place was not particularly clean. The cabin was very small and not good value for money. I would not stay there again, and would not recommend this place.
- Barry (1/5): Dreadful, couldn't get out fast enough next morning. - Nothing advised we were in cabin 2 then advised cabin 1. Cabin 1 gave the impression some one already occupying so shifted ourselves back to cabin 2. Not clean,, no light bulb in bunk room, no spare toilet paper. grill tray filthy, microwave had to be wiped out before using. Maintenance required on kitchen tap loose & not fitted. Reported to owner advised new cleaner ,no offer to relocate us, no apology nothing. Last straw was only one fork so we had to take turns to eat our meal.
- Ron (2/5): Won't go back and will tell others. - Nothing No tea towels, oven filthy, some fitted sheets on bunk beds were not fresh, double bed had no top bed sheets (no evidence doona covers were fresh) no guests tea, coffee or sugar, leaking gutting over entrance - no verandah, cabins were in back yard of residential house (maybe in big deal), chopping board where you prepare food contained mould.
